3.5 bumped to 4. OK, so this isn’t a Christmas story and I’m in my holiday reading phase but let me explain. You see, the book from my holiday list I wanted to read was Once Upon a Royal Christmas. The problem? Well, that is BOOK TWO in the Palatoys of Montana series!!!! So, obviously, I couldn’t just jump right into THAT Christmas story. Right? OK, OK, I know that most series are standalone that don’t require you to read them in order, but I did have book one, Falling for Her Bachelor, already on my Nook and there really wasn’t a reason I needed to read them out of order. So, anyway I started with book one….
Nick and Cassidy, aka Sid, have known one another for a lifetime. They grew up together. Sid is Rowan’s, Nick’s little sister, BFF. Which, of course, makes her off-limits for Nick which is just fine with him. I mean, he’s had his one true love and tragically lost her. He knows the pain of loss. Plus, his is a dangerous profession. There is no way he’s putting anyone else through a tragic loss. Nope. He’s better off with keeping things simple.
Cassidy had a crush on Nick when she was in middle school. She’s over it now, of course. Plus, she’s on her way out of town. Her big career in LA or NYC is calling and there is nothing holding her back. She just needs to get one tiny problem out of the way. Or, rather, get over one gigantic problem. Nick may just be her ticket back to a normal life…..
Falling for Her Bachelor is a fun, cute, quick, and entertaining story about hometown heroes and pesky little sisters. The characters are endearing. There is a lot to tug on heartstrings in this one, but not too many. It’s still a relatively light read that is just a whole lotta fun.
