Work and class, that was all Mandy worried about. She didn't need the complication of a relationship. She had time for that when she graduated. Unfortunately, her best friend, Lena doesn't feel the same way. One night out at an exclusive club will change Mandy's mind. Nicholas Quinn was everything a girl could dream of and more, but she may be just a little too vanilla ...
I have been writing since I was eight. I started out with poetry. Eventually, I moved on to short fantasy stories, then eventually books. I have always loved books, whether I was reading them or writing them. Books were always a perfect escape from reality. When I was growing up, I admired authors and I imagined I would eventually be one. The primary genre I write is fantasy romance. I love creating tough heroines and sexy vampires, werewolves, Fae, and every other supernatural creature I can come up with. I also write new adult romance when I am in the right mood. I want my readers to get the same joy from reading my stories that I do when I read some of my favorite authors.
I enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and there was always something happening. It was light reading and there were several moments of humour with one of the bitchier characters. I found the Dom, Nicholas, to be less Dom-like than his vanilla lady, Amanda, as she went from virgin to quite sexually aggressive and calling the shots overnight!
Wow! A new author to me, but will definitely be reading more from her. I enjoyed the book. Quinn and Mandy were good together. There were parts where I thought she should still be more "vanilla". But the book was hot and I will be reading part two soon!
Lena is a sweet innocent lamb, that accidentally finds herself left in the company of BDSM wolves...Nicholas never stood a chance. This is very cute story about a very vanilla girl trying to navigate a relationship with Dom only into contracts. There are some editing issues like a character beginning as "Jillian" but ending as "Gillian". It ends in a cliffhanger.
I loved the actual story. It reminded me of fifty shades, but with a twist. This authors imagination and story telling capabilities really astounds me. I can not wait to read the second book in this story. Yes, there are some proofreading issues, but the story is so good that you will be willing to overlook it. I think the cliffhangers in her stories will be the death of me, but they keep me coming back for more!
So not my normal read. I don't usually read books with quite so much sexual content in it. That being said, the storyline was quite interesting and will be appealing to many, many readers, I believe. The idea of a Dom straying from his ways for a certain woman is an interesting one to say the least. It makes me wonder if Quinn even knows how to have a normal relationship. He seems like he has a lot of preconceptions about women that are nothing like Mandy. She's flexible and he doesn't know what to do with her besides sleep with her repeatedly. All I can say is: he's the one that opened that box. For an inexperienced woman, Mandy sure seems to know what she's doing. And I know the title is Vanilla, but some of the content isn't very vanilla. Perhaps more like vanilla with peanuts and caramel. Overall, I really did enjoy it although I have so many questions that I hope will be answered in the second book. There is some major explaining needing to be done about Edward, Mandy's adoptive dad.
This was a nice quick and easy read (I needed it to fill my May "flavour" prompt)
I hate to give 3* but really think it needed a bit more for that extra star for me I'm afraid - but having said this...
I think the premise of this story is really good - it's a pretty standard dark romance plot, but they never get old and I really liked the twists in this. I loved the cliffhanger - a brilliant hook to get you grabbing book 2 to continue the story.
The thing that just lost that extra star for me was that the characters didn't really develop much. I could visualise where it was trying to go, but it just didn't quite make it.
I also found the narrative quite staid and repetitive.
There was plenty of spice which was great (obviously check the trigger warnings though) but I found some of the scenarios a little unrealistic - in particular Mandy's attitudes to sex and being with Quinn.
I will say though, that even with these niggles, the storyline intrigued me and if I have a lull in my tbr, I will most likely grab book 2 to complete the story in the future.
This is the first book I have read by Ella Price and now I am definitely a fan. Her distinct writing style just keeps you reading page by page anticipating what her characters are going to do next.
I absolutely fell in love with Amanda and Quinn. Their story was a complicated one but full of love. What I loved about Quinn was how his love and adoration of Amanda changed who he thought he was. Lena and Patrick just made me laugh. And the mysterious stalker just kept me guessing on when he would appear next. But it was Jillian that I wanted to choke.
But that ending is what kept me reading and one-clicking the next book in the series. This book had it all…..love, anger, sadness, jealousy, confusion, and most of all…friendship.
Vanilla book 1 is written by a new to me author. This was a fast paced story with a good amount of twists that I wasn't expecting. I liked Quinn and Mandy and how she seemed more the dom in their relationship than he who was supposed to be. What I found troubling with the story in general was, Mandy is a virgin when she meets Quinn and so soon into their time together she seems well versed in the world of bdsm. So how did she learn all this so quickly and know what to ask for from Quinn. I am interested in finding out who the stalker is, I have my guesses so I will have to read the next in the series to see if I am correct
I really liked this book. I will admit I was dreading this book. I seen it was BDSM stuff and that’s not my thing at all, BUT LET ME TELL YOU I love this book. It has plenty of sexy time in it and it still has BDSM stuff but like the title it’s vanilla. It’s a sneak peek into that world. Mandy is the main character, she’s a artist and works at a art gallery. She had 1 year left on her art degree. Her roommate gets her to go out one night to a club. But not your normal club. Quinn owns the BDSM club Mandy stumbled into and something about her drives him crazy. Grab this book it was a fantastic read.
Vanilla Volume 1 by Ella Price.....Five sexy stars!! This book held my attention from page one to the last word, I could not turn pages fast enough. I need Book 2, I have to find out what happens. This book is full of romance, Love, friends and lots of suspense keeping you on the edge of your seat. Nicholas is sexy, Dark, a billionaire, a Dom and every woman's dream. Mandy is a beautiful sweet college girl and a virgin. Her friend Lena sets these two up, will they be able to get through their different lifestyles. I highly recommend this book it is so good.
My first Ella Price reading experience was FANTASTIC!!! Vanilla is similar to your Fifty Shades type of read. You can feel the sparks when Quinn and Mandy meet; those sparks turn to flames and continue to grow throughout the story. Price's writing is powerful. Vanilla is a sassy, witty, and HOT one sit read!! Oh...the twists; this cliffhanger will make you die for more! Just downloaded book 2...I NEED to see how this all plays out!!!
Once you start this book, there is no turning back or putting it down!! It catches your interest from page one!! The characters, Amanda and Nicholas, are so amazing to get to know!! This storyline is fantastic and unique!! Once you start, you won't stop! Yes,a cliffhanger, but so worth it!! You are gonna love this book as much as I did!! The wiring was so professional too!!
Amanda at first reminds me of Grey's Anastasia- sweet, innocent and everything that is 'vanilla'. But one taste of Quinn and she's hooked on everything he has to offer. He let go of his heavier 'Dom' side more easily than I would have expected, but we see it rearing its head up throughout- and at the end we're left wondering which way he'll turn- to his heart or his past. I loved the murder mystery and family twists- and the cliffhanger at the end has me reaching for book 2!
First time in reading this author. I do on occasion read books with doms but not so much. In this Mandy and Nickolas and what happens with them when they cross paths. Follow them on their journey that will give you hot spells to say the least. You are quickly immersed with them. You also soon learn that this goes somewhere else. They keep you with them but you are soon at the end.
Great book. I loved the creativity of the story and the characters. The author did an amazing job describing all the details of the story, leaving me guessing about nothing. This book ended smack in the middle of the story, though. Looks like I will be buying book two!
A spicy little read with a little BDSM. Good for those new to the idea. I'm looking forward to reading book 2. I hope Quinn gets what he needs and sees that his wants and needs can be satisfied with 1 woman.
While the plot was interesting, I couldn't bring myself to care about the characters. The story kinda put me in mind of Fifty Shades of Grey, but with much better writing. Both characters were a bit wishy washy for me. However, I did enjoy the story. I'll give it 3.5
Fiftyish! Quite a few FSOG similarities, yet enough differences to make for a very good read! Worth getting book 2. This author is new to me and I will enjoy future reads by this author!
This was a good read, i did struggle with the fact that Nicholas wasn't as Dominant as i expected him to be. The women in his life just seemed to say and do what they wanted with no real repercussions. It has plenty of steam, intrigue, a twisty plot and some great characters.
This was an easy read and it was quite entertaining! In the beginning I had som problems with the way the author had built up the sentences. After a while I found myself enjoying the book and the story. It reminded me a bit of fifty shades, but it wasn't too similar.
Really enjoyed this story and the character's. I enjoyed the suspense in the story and the unexpected twists. I can not wait to read the second book in this series. I can't wait to see what happens with them.
Enjoyed Vanilla. It's a page turner with suspense and hot sex. I found myself in a state of loss. Not a fan of cliffhangers. I need to find out what happens.
Mandy is a college student working on her last year of college. She currently works in a art gallery and loves her job. Art is her life and she cannot wait to see where her life will lead her with it. In walks Quinn. She is introduced to Quinn through her friend Lena. He is part of a sex club and she goes there to meet him one night. She is not interested in begin a part of that world and he is not interested in anything else with a women. But when Mandy finds herself in danger, Quinn comes to the rescue. And things aren't quite what they seem. Full of hot scenes and an interesting storyline, I can't wait to read the next book. - I received an arc for an honest review.
Even though it felt like this book started off like a previous book we have all read before but rich guy with virgin college student is where the similarities end. This book is filled with suspense and lots of steamy sex. I didn’t like Quinn at first, he really seemed like an ass! But just like Amanda he won me over. I couldn’t imagine him being sweet or even caring but when Amanda starts being terrorized by an anonymous person. He starts to show a different side. That is until they both find out they have a connection neither one of them knew about…. Grab Vanilla for great sex and suspense.
This isn't going to be my typical review because while I really enjoyed the plot o couldn't really get into the characters mindset.
The heroine, Mandy, I didn't like her. From the start she seemed too fake l, too much back and forth for my likening, and I tried to like her. Every time I thought I would she did something that made me not like her.
Quinn was pub hero but her was a big jerk most of the book. It wasn't the type of hero that starts off as a jerk and then you love him, he was way too back and for for me.
The plot was interesting. I enjoyed it. Normal girl falls for a BDSM dom and drama ensures. It was great, it was the execution and timing that I could not get into. It spanned over a week or so, but she was in love with him in less then that time, went from virgin to begging for anal in that time, and a lot of other things that made no sends and were not realistic.
Overall, I enjoyed the plot. There was mystery to it that is left in a huge cliffhanger, and I really want to know what happens, but I can't connect with the time line/events that happened in the span of this book and the characters. And I really tried. So I'm giving it 2.5/3 stars because the writing wasn't horrible, and the plot was interesting. #2OCCJD
