Revenge and fate come together in the seventh installment of the Pyte/Sentinel Series as New York Times bestselling author R.L. Mathewson tells the story of how one of the deadliest shifters in our world is finally brought to his knees.
He couldn’t kill her.
Their mating mark would never allow it, but it would allow him to walk away and never look back. But that wasn’t a choice, not when Kale knew just how dangerous his mate could become if she ever lost control. His plan is simple, keep her safe, out of his way, and focus on the only thing that mattered. He didn’t need her, didn’t want her, and…
He couldn’t stop thinking about her.
No matter how many times Kale tries, he can’t stay away from her and god, does he try. With a bounty on his head and shifters, demons, and vampires doing everything they could to find him, the last thing that Kale needs is to fall in love with his mate.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
No one was supposed to find her. At least, that was the plan, but somehow the incredibly sexy shifter that loved to glare had found her and now…
She was finally where she belonged.
The only problem was, Ashley had no idea why, but she wasn’t going to complain. Not when things were finally making sense. What she was going to do was pretend that the shifter that hated her didn’t make her want things that she couldn’t have. She just needed to lay low, pretend that she had no idea why anyone would be after her, and hope that her secrets didn’t tear them apart.

The Hero:Kale - he is a shifter who hasn’t shifted for over 200 years. In the 1100’s after his father died, the leader of the tribe, Khan, who wasn’t even an alpha did them an injustice. Their lands were taken away and they were forced to serve the humans that were now the landowners. Kale couldn’t wait till he reached his immortality so he could challenge Khan and take their pack out of there. Kale had been keeping a secret, a lad he knew had fallen into a deep sleep and grew into a man in less than a month. Kale thought the lad would help them, though he didn’t know what the lad was. But when the lad woke, his eyes were red.
The heroine:Ashley - she is 45 years old and is extremely small and has to wear children’s clothing which make her look even younger than she is, which isn’t made better by the condition she was born with which stopped her growth when she was 10 years old. Many people think she is a child and are always asking where her parents are, especially at the library where she works in New York City. Ashley gets home from work one night, and her apartment is full of large men.
The Story: Kale is now a mercenary; he is the best at his job and is highly paid for it. He also helps out the Williams at times, Izzy is the mate of one of them and he has promised to protect her. He goes to New York to help Izzy out with a situation that came up due to her computer program, tattletale. It revolved around a little girl who was near death after being beaten. There were irregularities in her blood, making her a pyte. Kale hates pyte’s and plans to kill the girl, but when he touches her, he is marked. She is his mate.
I was waiting for Kale’s story, since he has been in so many of the previous books. He was such a hard case and he was in this book as well. He denied his feelings for Ashley despite having the mating marks from the beginning. I liked how he tried to go on with his life as it was but couldn’t keep her out of his mind. Ashley had a good back story as well and she was so happy when she went through her transformation into a pyte and finally grew up after looking like a ten year old for 35 years.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via solo narration. It was narrated by Veronica Worthington. She was a different narrator than the last books. Her voice isn’t my favorite, it is a bit deep for a woman and kind of scratchy sounding. Though she does a decent job and uses different voices for different characters.
Pyte/Sentinal fans rejoice, R.L. Mathewson has produced an intense, steamy and exciting new story.
Kale, the cantankerous shifter who refuses to shift, has never been interested in mating, never even thought about it. Yet when his mating mark appears in the presence of a forty-year-old woman in the body of ten-year-old he’s not quite sure how to proceed. Until she transforms into a gorgeous Pyte, the very species he’s vowed to destroy.
Unable to kill her because of their mating mark, he’s forced to keep her safe and out of his way. Until he realizes she’s much more and everyone is after her.
I’ve loved this series from the start and I loved going back to this thrilling world R.L. has created. Ashley was so sweet and kind with a huge heart. Absolutely adorable especially given her tragic and lonely origin. While Kale is an adorable pain in the @$$ alpha who despite his dour disposition couldn’t help but be Ashley’s safe heaven. I loved him so and swoon every time he called Ashly Mo Ghrá.
I loved reading about past characters and especially Jacob who was the perfect comic relief.
Unsttoppable is book #7 of the Pyte/Sentinel series by RL Mathewson. It is told from various points of view with a happy ending. Genres: Paranormal Romance. Tropes: forced proximity

* I was given an ARC of this book courtesy of the author. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title. *
Finally, Kale’s story, and BRAVO, it was simply amazing!!! It has been a few years since I read any books in this world, but even if you haven’t read the previous books, you can catch up on who is who pretty quickly. And there is a lot, a lot of story, a lot of characters, and a lot surrounding Kale and Ashley as they get their HEA. Kale has been around forever, and in so many books, he got a full-fledged, wonderfully twisted, and wild story that I couldn’t put down. This authour built such a perfect world with so many moving parts and pieces, so many games and storylines that all converge, and had me gasping and cheering at different moments. I was lost in the world with the characters and finished energized and wanting more, not wanting to leave and have the story go on and on. Loved it, obviously, and was so happy Kale got the HEA and the story he so richly deserved <3
I was really looking forward to this book and wanted to love it. I enjoy the characters from the previous books in the series, and did so for this book as well. But the plot was far too convoluted, especially towards the end, and there were too many breaks in the action followed by long passages of exposition recounting what happened during the break. I can understand this if it was being done as a non-linear storytelling method, but it's not. It's just a less interesting way to tell the story. I'd much rather read events as they happen.
A little better than the previous books, but the repetitive words, phrases, thoughts, dialog, action, etc made be a little bit mad. Besides the fact that all the author's characters from all her series are mumbling, worrying their lips and are sugar addicted, this one is promising. I don't know how almost nobody has a problem with the lack of editing and the repetitions, they steal the heart of the story.
It was a long wait but let me tell you it was worth it. Now let me tell you I’ve been obsessed with the series for a long time but I’ve never been that interested in kale as shifters aren’t really my jam and if I’m being honest when I was reading the other books I would usually skip the parts about kale but let me tell you this story does not mess around and you’ll fall in love with kale , he’s an asshole big time doesn’t want or need a mate he’s got one goal and nothing will get in the way of that but all the changes when he is sent to the hospital to save a girl from the first touch he was changed, mated and he does the one thing he shouldn’t have done he saves her. With the war raging on with the masters and demons and a bounty on the line he can’t help but try to save his mate if your a fan this series you’ll love this book and you were like me being someone who wasn’t a fan of even cared for him you’ll love him. Grab a coffee and get comfortable this story has a lot of twists and turns with the original cast and crew showing up the book was worth the wait and the lack of sleep thank you R.L Mathewson for this amazing series now I’m off to annoy R.L with wanting the next book
Let me start by saying finally!! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever but man was it worth it.Kale oh kale how do I adore thee? I mean I wanted to smack you a couple of times but I still love you.. I felt like I was on a roller coaster of feels. Some twists and turns and a couple of I didn’t see that coming.overall an awesome read!
I loved this story. It was well worth the wait. It is hard not to give away spoilers while trying to relate the fun I had reading a well written story and learning about Kale a mercenary shifter and Ashley the woman that is his and might just make him realize life is worth living if he can come to terms with the curveball that is Ashley thrown in to his life, thru the trials they face, and the circumstances that lead them to become who they will be. R.L. Mathewson does an amzing job of weaving Kale and Ashleys complicated and amazing story while bringing in story lines from other characters in this series and making the whole picture complete. There were out of left field surprises, a few "oh my gosh she cant do that to that character", and some possible sniffles...maybe.
I have and would recommend this to family and friends. *ARC received in exchange for honest review
R.L. Matheson always leave us wanting more. Kale and Ashley's story was outstanding. She never disappoints, from the beginning I was hooked. How she leaves us guessing what's going to happen next. From snippets with Joshua, to Ashley's father. I can't wait for the next book!!!!
So good, I had to read it twice! All the characters stories from the previous 6 book come together in this book so it’s a lot to Follow at times, but it’s done in a nail biting way that keeps you wanting more. I wasn’t ready for it to end and can’t wait for book 8 and see where the story goes.
This series has really come a long way! There have been long gaps between publication and you can tell that R.L.’s writing style has developed and changed overtime from the earlier books in the series. This one is the best yet in my opinion in terms of content and development. This is a big book and I didn’t want to put it down at all. I think this series has really interesting world building and a creative storyline.
The wait for Kale’s book has been LONG and it was worth it. I loved Ashley for him and loved that we got more insight into Kale and saw his personality start to shine through his gruff exterior. I’d have liked a little more resolution with Ashley’s father, but I’m guessing we’re set up to get his book shortly (probably him or Ethan would be my guess)
There are a lot of scenes that cutaway from action and are then recounted later, this is kinda common throughout this series though so I didn’t take away any points for it as I almost expect this with the author’s writing style and know what I’m getting into with any of her books.
P.S. I am extremely unhappy about ‘Magnus’, I don’t know if there will ever be redemption for him at this point 😢😢😢😢
I love Kale, he is amazing and he knows what he wants and fights for it. He is an alpha with a heart who would do anything for those he loves. Ashley the heroine was too Goody-two-shoes where she had no flaws and that bothered me. Everyone has flaws. She also was the answer to everything and the savior for everyone which I didn't like how cut and dry that was, too simple of a solution. That being said I loved the book how could I not with Kale being so amazing. It had suspense, romance, comedy, and all in all, was an amazing book that I will be rereading for years to come.
It seems I have been waiting for Kale’s story for ever. It was worth the wait , my only problem is that now I want more. I love R L ‘s books because when you read one it’s like visiting and catching up with friends and family, granted friends and family that lead very exiting and dangerous lives but … I have always had a soft spot for Kale so I’m happy that he got great mate. There was a slight problem with this book I couldn’t put it down so did not get much done during the day 😳 by the time finished reading I was seeing white spots 😂😂😂
This book was so worth the wait!!!! I loved reading new characters and all the old characters in this book. The storyline was fantastic. It was well written and made so i couldn't put the book down. The only disappointment there was that it ended, I loved finding out about izzy and danni. (won't say more for spoilers) but so glad about that! Poor little Marc I felt really sorry for him. Can't wait for the next book. Great job R.l Mathewson
I can not get enough of this series! I dread finishing the books in the series because they give me the escape I need from everything and I love all the characters in them. Kale is my favorite ever since he made his appearance in book 2. I have waited for this book for so long and I got more than I bargained for! R.l Mathewson gave us a look into Kale and what he has been through and done in his long life and made me love him even more than before. I can't wait for the next in the series!!!
What to say without giving anything away? It’s best if you read the books before this one. It had been awhile and I was totally lost. You have a shifter who doesn’t shift, who hates Pytes, and is a force of nature by himself. He doesn’t need or want a mate until the mating mark shows up on his arm. His mate…Ashley who is a forty something year old woman in a ten year olds body. Kale forces the immortality and she’s beautiful and a Pyte, which he hates. But they soon find out that she is so much more. Now Kale must protect her from the Council and anyone else that wants Ashley’s blood. You also get to meet old friends and new friends. A bear, which cracked me up, and a little girl that steals the scenes. At first I was getting upset with so many point of views but I now realize they were beneficial to the story.

Unstoppable, the seventh book in author R. L. Mathewson‘s Pate/Sentinel series is one we have all been waiting for. Kale, the cranky shifter that we’ve all grown to love, has met his match with his small mate Ashley. This book will have your emotions going from laughing your a** off happy to crying and back. R. L. Mathewson has a wicked sense of humor and has a way of touching your heart through her writing with amazing, loving, strong, well developed characters. The family she has put together through all of these books and the characters that she’s created in this world of hers are so amazing and so much fun to read about. You will cry, but you’ll laugh too. So many answers, and more questions. I hope the series goes on for a very long time. Thank you Ms. Mathewson. I loved every minute of it!
One of the best books yet from R. L. Mathewson! The characters are fun and sassy. You fall down the mystical rabbit hole of shifters, pytes and Sentinels and don't want to come out. Kale is a sugar addicted asshole but so hot you look past his bad behavior in hopes he turns that hot glare on you! Ashley was so unexpected but just perfect. How the guy who is referred to as a$# hole" get's the kindest woman on the plant is anyones guess. I always look forward to a new book but this one went beyond my expectations and I am dying for more. This is a series best started from the beginning but you won't regret reading the six books before you jump into Kale's book. Worth the wait!
I literally bought this book when I saw that it was released on Instagram and finished it within the day. Kale's story was well worth the wait. It lived up to every expectation that I had. He was already my favorite character but this book cemented it. His complexity and vulnerability mixed with his trademark wit and glaring made you fall in love with him even more. Plus this story sets up so many new and interesting chats and storylines as well as teasing some that have been started.congratulations RL Mathewson on the best of newest addition to the series. can't wait for the next one!!
As always RL Mathewson is an incredible story teller, I became a fan after tall dark and lonely, then discovered her other series NFH. If you haven't read them you really should! For this book we have waited lol and it does not disappoint. Strong characters, action, romance, and sass, it has it all. Love these books.
MS Matheson once again has gone above and beyond. Kale finally meets his mate. I tried to only read a few chapters at a time but devoured the book in a day. I do advise you read all the books before, in order, because everyone shows up from previous stories. Absolutely fantastic!
Was worried about how good this book would be as Kale is one of my favourite characters from the Pyte series and have found with other authors, that I am quite often disappointed with the resulting book as it doesn't normally live up to expectations. I am very pleased to say that this one did.
As always this book along with the others are fabulous. Now I am really interested in what happens those characters such as Cade, Joshua, India, and Jill. This book kept me on edge with all that was going on.
I cannot wait to find out about the other characters and their destinations.
This book had me laughing out loud, often. I have been waiting to read about Kale and R.L. doesn’t disappoint. I really tried to savour this book but once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down. I love that characters that we know and love continue to been seen and that we are introduced to new ones briefly. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
Oh my gosh! This is my Favorite book Ever!!! I have read all of RL Mathewson's books and loved them all, but this book is the absolute best of all. Am so waiting for Joshua's book.

Susan – ☆☆☆☆ I found the long-anticipated release of UNSTOPPABLE well worth the wait. R.L. Mathewson weaved an intricate web of storylines into an outstanding book for Kale’s story. She resolves many storylines that were developed throughout the series, giving readers an action-packed story filled with additional plots and newly introduced characters, essentially expanding this series. This is not a stand-alone book as a reader would not be able to fully enjoy the individual storylines woven into Kale’s book. One of the great things that she included in this book was a link to the Pyte/Sentinel cheat sheet that summarizes the characters and defines the different species for a quick refresher, if needed. I love this series and UNSTOPPABLE is an excellent addition, one of my favorites.
Susan was provided a free copy of Unstoppable (Pyte/Sentinel #7) by R.L. Mathewson to read and review.
Hot off the press, we are dipped in the the world of Kale, mean, miserable, grumpy sod. Driven to kill all pytes! However, a chance encounter at the hospital throws him in to a bit of a pickle, by way of his mate, something he swore he would never accept. However Ashley slowly cracks his little shrivelled heart and warms his soul with her cuteness and adorable nature of just being amazingly nice 😍 however she becomes his weakness and Kales enemies rise to take over can Kale save everyone? Can Ashley win his love. And who the hell is Cade 😍 can't wait to hear about him and Logan, not to mention Jacob. We meet the rest of the clan as well as cuddles who sounds divine and snuggly! All I have to say is gimme gimme gimme, Ms Mathewson needs to crack the whip and get back to it ❤️ after a short rest break of course I'm not heartless 😘

I've read every book in this series and Kale's story was one I truly deeply needed to read. RL Mathewson didn't disappoint with this book.
Kale was the grumpy yet deep down a sweetheart that we all loved and I enjoyed seeing into Kale's head. I enjoyed his growth from the very beginning until him finding his mate. Dang he found the perfect mate for himself. I loved what a softy and quiky person she was. I enjoyed how there relationship developed throughout the book. One thing I will say is that RL never disappoints with her humour in her books. Her humour and the way she is able to make characters come to life is something else.
While I enjoyed the book I would definitely say that it sometimes felt like the story got convoluted at parts with different perspectives. I think it would have been really confusing for someone that hasn't read all the books previously.
With that being said I enjoyed being back into this amazing and unique paranormal world.
I loved Unstoppable! I really disliked Kale in the beginning. He made me want to punch him for how he treated Ashley. But he redeemed himself once he got over his hang ups. I loved Ashley. The chemistry between the two was fire! I love reading about the side characters and how their stories fit into the overall plot throughout the series. Plus Cuddles stole the show for me lol. Great job RL! Can’t wait to read what’s next!
