Darrel Sak is a 13-year-old who has suffered from night terrors since the tender age of 1-1/2 years old. Because of this affliction, he has grown to be a superstitious teen who tries to hide the fact that he still gets these nightmares frequently. Track and Minecraft are the two loves that take him away from the ‘realness’ of these dreams, until he finds out the dreams are much more complicated than that. Teaming up with an unlikely friend, he sets out to find his missing father and ultimately begins a harrowing quest that takes him to multiple realms where he must learn to trust in himself and recognize that things are not always as they seem.

A really good mid-grade novel. Being a 13 year old and suffering from being bullied by the biggest kid in 8th grade. So our hero is named Darrel and his sidekick Maisey with faithful Digory horse and sometimes Griffin. Proteus is chief villian but his brothers are the Light Wizard and Darrel's dad!

A fun read!

A great read for young adults. It did suffer from too many repetitions if you read it in one sitting.

I love the creativity and imagination that Goulet portrays in this book. I've actually done a joint book signing with L.S Goulet and I can say that she has an amazing passion and for writing. And I know she wants to inspire the next generation of young authors. I absolutely think this is a must read for young adults who want to write.
