Amazing series

Once again Cameo takes us through the adventures of Abi as she journeys by herself to find a safe home for herself, Finn(her fiance) and family, in the apocalyptic world of arvies. As her "curse" strengthens, she struggles with learning how to control it. Cameo also introduces a new character Danielle. All in all an amazing series! Can't wait for book 5!

4.5 stars!

I have to be honest and start by saying that I could only vaguely remember what had happened in the last book in this series! I did read it over a year ago though lol! The author did write a little bit about what happened in the last book at the beginning of this book, which helped a lot! It helped me remember more about what had happened and where the last book had ended! I also won an ebook of this book from the author, so I started this book as soon as I received my copy and I had such a hard time putting it down once I did start it! It only took me a few sittings to read as well! The plot was also amazing and continued on the story perfectly! It did go in a different direction to what I was expecting, but I enjoyed the direction it went in! Some things happened that I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting the actual direction that the plot was took in! It was very interesting and I enjoyed that there was some action in the plot too! I loved the romance as well! There wasn't tons of it, but there was a lot of other things going on in the plot! Overall, I enjoyed the plot! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Abigail 'Abi' was of course the main character, and in this book Abi was fighting for everything! She was fighting for her family and friends, her love interest, Finn, and for herself! Abi was also still learning how to control the powers that she had in this book and how to use them to the best of her ability! She did such a good job at handling her powers and she really impressed me! Abi was also a very brave character and she proved this again and again! She again put other people before her and this told me a lot about the kind of person she was! Finn was also back in this book as the love interest of Abi! Finn was in this book for quite a few chapters at the beginning, but then things happened and he wasn't in the book a lot after that! It did make me sad that Finn wasn't in this book a lot, but I loved him when he was in the book! He was again so loving towards Abi and it was easy to see how much he loved her and how far he would go to protect her and keep her safe! I just loved Finn, and I really hope that he's in the next book more! I also loved that there were quite a few secondary characters in this book! They all added so much to the development of the plot and really intrigued me! This book was fully written from Abi's point of view, and I could completely understand why it was! The plot could have been expanded more if it had been written from more point of views though! I mean, I would have loved to have went inside Finn's head! I'm not sure if this book is the last book in this series, but I don't think it is! It would make me really sad if this book is the last book because I've loved this series a lot, but the ending was left open for more to happen and I definitely see more books for Abi to finish her story off! I'm definitely going to be anticipating the release of the next book and I can't wait to see what's next for Abi! It was also left at such a good place! The cover for this book also suits it perfectly! I love how well it suits the other covers in the series and it really suits the feel of the book! I love it a lot!

Hope and Hellfire – What a combination!

There are a lot of books and movies out there about existence after the Apocalypse. One thing they usually have in common is the struggle for those who survived the fallout to stay alive, some of the survivors no longer close to anything that resembles a human being. What I like about this book is the author follows that theme but puts a deeper emotional spin on the story.

Abigail Park is a young woman with a unique gift, an ability the U.S. government has enhanced to use as a weapon to aid their mission for world domination. To keep the people she loves safe, Abi leaves them behind, without saying a word to anyone, hoping to find a place where they can all live together in peace. Finn—her forever love—is always on her mind and in her heart, but Abi has to keep her focus on the dangers: hordes of ravenous mutants, other insane, flesh-eating survivors, and the ever-relentless government that’s tracking her. Abi will do whatever it takes to reach her safe place. Still, when the odds are stacked high against that, she puts her own needs aside, reaching out to those who need her help to survive.

This book has plenty of action, but not so much that it overwhelms the story. You get a good look inside the characters’ heads and feel their emotions. I wanted to see more interaction between Abi and Finn, but I understand that leaving him behind was all part of her learning process. In the end, admitting that they are stronger together moves Abi toward maturing into the unstoppable weapon she needs to be to win the battles waiting for her.

Awesome book! I highly recommend.

WOW, I hate to say this, but I think this is the best one yet! I read the entire book in like, 6 hours, I just couldn't stop. After everything Abi has already been through, and everything her and Finn have been through, it's not over. My heart ached for her the entire book, and I was so impressed with how she reacted and handled everything. All the new characters we got to meet and the new things we learned, craziness! I loved all the new characters we met, and the visits from the ones we know and got to see again. I hope we get to see more of them in next books.
Everything I expected to happen didn't happen, it was so much more terrible and or wonderful! We thought Arvies & a jerky controlling government was bad, but now we have more problems! Abi is determined to do whatever it takes to stay out of the governments hands and keep her family safe, and she does.
There is just so much goodness jam packed into this book I don't even know where to start, and wouldn't want to give anything away. Some parts are just so intense I found myself holding my breath and even pacing a time or two! But in the end, I was so dang happy with the ending that I hugged my kindle. Bring on book 5, because that is gonna be good, and I can't wait!

Before the After Light Saga, I never even considered reading dystopian literature. Thankfully, I was already a fan of author Cameo Renae’s work. Therefore, I decided to give the After Light Saga a try. Now, I can honestly say I am a true fan.

Cameo has such an excellent way of weaving a story full of excitement and danger, while still creating complex characters that steal my heart. Abi is such a strong heroine, badass to the core. She is also one half of a soul. The other half is Finn, (who I secretly love).

I truly understand Abi’s rationale for her heartbreaking decisions, but her path leaves me sad, much the way that she herself feels. This author crafts Abi’s solo journey as a dangerous adventure of self-discovery. It tests her humanity, resourcefulness, and her ability to draw people to her. She also proves herself when the stakes are the highest.

I truly love this book and this series. There are a couple of grammatical errors, but they really don’t detract from my reading enjoyment. I recommend this series to anyone who likes dystopian/post-apocalyptic literature. Also, it should appeal to those who like a little suspense with loveable characters.

I have been anxiously and very impatiently awaiting book four of The Afterlight Saga! This book did not disappoint. I picked right back up to Abigail Parks trying to control her newly found gift and trying to figure out how to best protect her family. She thinks she has one choice which is to go rogue and use her mind to help her reach safety. But what will the cost be?

I really want to word vomit right here everything that happens but I also do not want to ruin the book for you. I can tell you that Abigail's gift has grown extremely powerful and she is quite possibly the greatest weapon the people in power will have against the Arvies. When she is out on her own she must survive in the Arvy filled harsh landscape.

This series is one that I love. It places a unique spin on the standard post apocalyptic zombie creature story. Cameo Renae has created such a unique post apocalyptic world that it really breaks the norm. When I first read ARV-3, I was hopelessly hooked.

This book is a survival thrill ride that will have you guessing, panicking and not wanting the story to end. Grab your copy today!

Abi and Hellfire are back! Lots of Arvy action too! This is an awesome addition to The After Light Saga. Why hasn't this series been picked up by a movie director?!? Why?!?

In the fourth book of The After Light Saga Abi is wanted from the government bunker she and her family fled from...because she was given syrums that developed her gift into something greater. Something that can make her destroy an Arvy with a single thought. She ends up running away and gets captured by the bunkers soldiers. She also sees friends that lived with her in the bunker and makes new friends also.

I love the cover. It goes along great with the others. Just pick this book up already. I don't want to give anything else away! Cameo also threw in a reference to Hidden Wings. Abe's cousin said she's reading it in this book. How cool is that?!?

Holy smokes! This book was a whirlwind of action. Hostile is the fourth instalment in the After Light Saga, and doesn't disappoint. I loved the tender moments between Abi and Finn and the gory Arvie killing action! It was a bit more graphic than previous books, so younger readers please be aware. This didn't stop my enjoyment at all. In fact, i loved it the most out of the rest of the series. Especially the loopy mind walk thing. i'm glad to know this is not the end!

Another gem by Cameo Renae. This Dystopian novel is action-packed, suspenseful, and dramatic. The government is after Abi, who they have enhanced and believe is their only chance at survival, and they will kill anyone who gets in their way. So, Abi must leave behind those she loves in order to keep them safe. She must set out in this hostile environment with only her heart, training, Hellfire, and Venge - which could destroy her along with her enemies.

Actual rating 1.5 stars.

Again, another book in this series that really isn't a novel - more like a tale... the middle part of something happening.

I found ‘Hostile’ awfully spoony and over-ridden with typical YA tropes. Instances of bad grammar and immature writing. I was hoping this series would get better as the author got to hone her craft, but it is just getting repetitive with the same kind of underdeveloped writing style.

The concept is still full of potential, but feel like the author should take some classes or spend a year or two honing her craft.

Protagonist Abi was very two dimensional. The story at times is led by the author’s hand. Some of the events are implausible, even in this dystopian fantasy because there is no motivation, or not driven forward by the plot.

Some of the action scenes were well crafted though, and I enjoyed a few of these towards then end of the novel.

‘Hostile’ is a very quick read: 2-3hrs was all it took. Which is lucky, I wouldn't invest any more time than that on such a poorly executed novel.

Again, I love the premise, but the basics of structuring a novel were amiss. One more book in this series to go, which I will read, just because I want to confirm how it all ends. Then I’ll probably gift the entire collection to one of my nieces or nephews because I have no intention of keeping books of this calibre in my library.

Even the covers are recycled of stock images - it hurts my heart to see, and read this kind of book.
On a side note, I burst out laughing at her shameless plug for another series she's written – ‘Hidden Wings’ in the narrative. Big brass ones lady! I like it.

It was so cheesy and poorly written it was funny. Like a low budget syfy movie. Not recommending this one unfortunately.

Hostile is the fourth book in the Afterlight Saga and one of the things I love is that the books all directly roll on from one another without distraction or break. At the end of Intransigent, Abi and her family had escaped the bunker and found themselves falling into the generous hands of Billy who invited them to join him and his hive. WIth Milton on the mend, Abi is able to finish her course of treatments, a goal she is desperate to realise as she knows that she’s on borrowed time until she is discovered and puts her old and new family at risk of execution. Once complete she decides to make good her escape and sets off alone. Sadly those searching for her don’t take long to find their mark, but with more than just Arvies on their tail, can they afford to keep Abi as a prisoner or will they be forced to trust her and bring her into the ranks? WIth the discovery of a potential game changer along the way, will Abi still remain a priority and can she find a way back to Finn and her family?

There is an absolute ton of stuff going on with this instalment; where Intransigent was very focussed, Hostile takes us out into the big wide world again where miraculously some survivors are still surviving and there are things just as bad as the Arvies lurking in the shadows. With Abi’s serum course completed she finds that she is opened up to more than being just a killing machine, but the power she holds is desperate to come to the surface with her trying desperately to keep it at bay. The power to harm also has the power to heal potentially placing her in greater danger if the powers that be come to understand the true extent of what she has become. Whilst I was initially a little let down with how easily Abi had allowed herself to be captured that was quickly replaced as little by little she starts to gain the upper hand and of course the story would have taken a very different turn if she remained undiscovered! This continues to be a strong series and again I read it in less than a day as it drew me in completely. There was only one little part for me which I wasn’t too keen on, but with it only being 2 pages out of the 4 books, i’m not letting it impact on how much I loved reading Hostile. I’m just glad I don’t have to wait too long for book 5!

Abigail Park has a gift. She can communicate and harm the Arvies like no one else which makes her the most wanted person in the world and one of the strongest. Because of that, no matter how much she loves her family and especially her fiancé, the gorgeous Finn, she had to leave them behind in order to protect them. It's one of the most difficult decision she had to make.
Not long after she left them she got caught by people from her previous bunker. Their mission is to find her and bring her back. However, has they lost their mean of transport, they have no choice but to live and fight together.
While trying to find shelter, they discover a young woman which could be the greatest hope for human kind.
Despite they all get to know and trust each other, Abigail is sure of one thing, there is no way she will go back with them. No matter how close she got from them, she will do whatever it takes to stay free.

My Opinion:
Ohh I love that serie. In this fourth book, Abigail, continue to learn to control her new powers. She goes from surprise to surprise. It was hard to see her live Finn which she loves more than anything, even more than her own life. I missed him and their complicity. If you haven't started to read that serie yet, you have to start now. On my side, I will very soon read the last book of the serie. I can't wait to see how it will all end. Good I hope...

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Lady Amber's PR*

About a 4.5 for me, but ooo I really liked this one. It was full of adventure and you get to see her without additional aid, and having to deal with the enemy? Who doesn't like seeing people turn for the better lol I did miss her family and Finn after everything they went through to stick together, but at the same time, I totally enjoyed seeing her powers grow. The different soldiers and Arvies she dealt with were just as entertaining, and it just felt like a fun adventure thriller with a bunch of new faces dishing out the same ole prerogative. A little repetitive with the dialogue and there were times when I wondered how many times she'd tell her entire story to everyone she met but I didn't mind that much XD I love seeing everyone react to her lol If you like Dystopians with zombies that aren't zombies but mutated people left to fend for themselves by the Government (yeah) and people who can control minds, definitely check this out.

Abi the bad-ass, kick-ass girl now has some extra problems, the government is after her for running away, well escaping and she has a monster that's been unleashed inside her mind by the experimental drug the government forced on her. On top of this there are of course the Arvies. Abi takes off on her own thinking to save Finn and her family, but who will save her. More nail biting action that had me reading nonstop.

I received an eARC of this book via Lady Amber's Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

Hostile
by Cameo Renae is the 4th installment of The After Light Saga and I was on the edge of my seat the entire read! Abi, dealing with the grief and confusion her newfound gift has brought, leaves her family behind and sets out on her own into the desert to find her grandmother. But she finds that between the Arvies and the soldiers hunting her, she may not survive by herself.

Let me be honest for a sec. I was riveted by this installment to the series. I was shocked Abi would lie to Finn and leave her family behind without a second thought. She believes she’s in the right but as the reader we know what a terrible mistake her grief is causing her to make. I caught myself multiple times, holding my breath and hoping/praying she wouldn’t get herself killed or kill someone else by mistake.

Finn is noticeably absent again this book. I was hoping he’d be more present after being absent most of Intransigent but alas that wasn’t the case. He’s present in Abi’s mind though. She doesn’t make a move without thinking about him and the 13 years they spent in the bunker together.

This book really focuses on Abi and the horrors she faces alone. She’s a strong girl, but every one has a downfall and hers is her telepathy. She doesn’t know how to control it and if she isn’t careful it will kill her. It scares her and she lets it control her. I was heartbroken for her as she made the decision to leave her family and Finn behind, not knowing if she would ever see them again. But really she felt she had no choice. If she can’t control her gift, she could hurt them unintentionally which is the last thing she wants to do.

Hostile is an intense read! I liked the new characters that Cameo Renae introduces in the form of soldiers from the bunker. These soldiers were ordered to find Abi, kill anyone with her, and not return without her. I felt so bad for them and Abi as the story progresses and they rely on one another for survival. It was an interesting twist to the narrative.

Overall I really enjoyed this installment, in fact it might be my favorite of the series so far! I liked seeing Abi on her own, learning more about her gift, and learning to trust others outside of her own family. It was interesting to see her character’s growth and horrific to read about the nature of her gift/curse. I cannot wait to read more (and hopefully get more Finn time). If you enjoy dystopia, I highly recommend the series!

Hellfire and Venge! . . .

Holy Smokes!! This book is the long awaited forth novel in the After Light Saga and man the stories get better and better! You'll seriously be turning page after page wanting to know what happens next and if they'll survive an Arvy attack. Oh and of course a reader will just swoon when it comes to Finn in this book.

On the run from the government Abi, Finn and what remains of her give are hiding with a friend in abandoned caves. But Abi knows their safety is temporary and decides she must flee their sanctuary to ensure everyone's safety. With the new power inside her, Abi is highly sought after and anyone caught with her is deemed a threat to the government. So Abi makes her way top side to set out towards her grandma where hopefully the government won't find and use her. However, Abi is waylaid by a special unit who she ends up saving with new side affects to her growing powers, but in the end she is held captive by the soldiers per their mission. Now Abi must help them all to survive the dangerous terrain while planning a way to escape, because for her being taken back to the government bunker is not an option.

Overall, loved it and I want more! The apocalyptic world that Abi not just lives in but survives in is my worst fears. BUT I love reading about Abi kicking butt and taking names as she selfless protects those she loves. Of course that selflessness also makes me irritated at her when she hurts poor wonderful Finn by being a bit foolish. Anyways, I loved how much Abi grew in this story when again she was separated from her family and had to rely on her instincts that she learned all those years in the bunker. Abi is still battling the dangerous power that is growing within her seeking to do death and destruction, it's clear the difference between her and the Arvies is her ability to love and love deeply. I seriously can't wait for next book to see if Abi can find her place in the world to call home.

I enjoyed this book. It was great catching up with Abi and Finn. My love for these two characters grows with each book. I believe this book is my favorite yet in the series. Hostile took a new direction that brought in several new characters, one with great potential to maybe help save the world. All were well-written and made for a good cast. Hostile was full of action, suspense, and frustration. Very fast-paced, nicely written; you can't put the book down once you start.

Abi's strength continues to grow making her more of a powerful weapon. It also makes the government more determined to capture her. She is equally determined to remain out of their grasp and to keep her family safe at the same time. So she strikes out on her own. She should always remember that she's stronger with Finn, but her mistakes are always made based on love. With her increasing power, her humanity may end up being the most important trait she has, so it's impossible to get mad at her for caring about others.

If I have a complaint about the book, it's that I wanted more. I wanted to get further along on the journey. However, the ending was great and I can't wait to see what the next book holds for Abi and Finn!

Having met an Arvie in person, I can tell you just how scary they are! Hostile is a continuation of The After Light Saga by Cameo Renae and is the sort of book that you stay awake reading all through the night- you simply HAVE to know what is next!
Abigail is the most wanted person on the planet... as a weapon!
Having been tested on by the government, she now has abilities that rival the most advanced weapons systems ever known. All she wants, is to have her family safe and to live in a world in which she doesn't have to deal with Arvies. This needs to be on her own terms though, and the government doesn't seem to be playing by the rules.
Hostile is written perfectly, you feel every moment that Abigail feels, you hold your breath as she hides from lurking danger, and you feel the love just as deeply as she does... and the loss of every fallen person she comes into contact with.
I enjoyed meeting new characters, and I can't wait to see what is in store for the family that Abigail has built along the way!
