Mercy F*uck

Rate this book
You've seen the title of this book and now you're curious, I get it.
I totally do.
Mercy F*uck isn't a title that inspires smiles and you'd be right.

Let me start by saying his name was Axle Rhodes and everything about him, including his love for Metallica, made you want to offer yourself up as a sacrifice.
And believe me, I did.
My heart and v-card were his for the conquering, and because he had a pulse, twenty-four-seven erection and empty bed, he took it.

It was love, it was fate, it was our happily ever after.
Right?
Wrong.
It was bullshit.

For Axle it wasn't any of those things.
I know this to be true because while planning our wedding while still naked in said bed, I had the misfortune of hearing him utter the two words that described what he really thought of me.

Now don't go feeling sorry for me, okay? I learned a valuable lesson about the opposite sex that day and am all the better for it.
To Axle, I was a Mercy F*uck this is true. But, every man I would meet after him would become mine.

My name is Drew, by the way, and nine years and a lot of practice later, I like to think of myself as the 'Mercy F*uck Master'.
Trust me, it was title I earned and was seriously proud of too.
Well at least I was, until the Mercy F*ucker came back.

Beware of Spoilers!

Star Ratings:
Heroine (Drew): 29yrs old? 4/5
Hero (Axle): 31yrs old – such an asshole 2/5

Plot: 3/5
Grovel: I wish the H grovelled
Cheating: none
HEA: yes
Triggers: in detail description of OM fucking h, H was married during their separation

Average score: 2.5/5

Best Line: H to h: “Lust is fleeting, love is you.”

Worst Line: H to h: “My wife was nothing like you. She was quiet, conservative and safe. A school teacher, third grade, loved kids. I thought safe was smart. It wasn’t, so I cut her loose. You wouldn’t like her. But you know what? When I told her I was done, she fought for me. She said she’d do anything to be what I needed. She wasn’t a fighter but she fought,” he sneers in my face. “You didn’t fight; you didn’t do shit. I offer up everything I am to you and you place another order for cement. All I ever wanted was a shot with you but you ran nine years ago and you haven’t bothered to stop.”

I fucking hated him for saying this to her because HE was the one in the wrong by calling her a Mercy Fuck to begin with.

Personal Review:
I was hoping to get some grovel action but was sadly disappointed as the h forgave him when they meet again…almost instantly and his explanation was not very good either.

Random Ramblings:
•My heart hurt for Drew in the opening scene
•Like the nickname banter
•I had hoped for a different explanation for the ‘misunderstanding’ because he still called her a “Mercy Fuck”

Overall Feeling:

Drew: “Feelings and romance were for pussies.”

Disappointed (again!) at the lack of a well-deserved grovel - even worse, the h kept apologising!!

Fucking waste of my time

Genre: Light Romantic Suspense
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Nine years ago Drew Zelinski thought she found the one. But one blissful night turned into a nightmare when the man she thought as her everything broke her heart when she found out she was just a mercy fuck for him.

Axle Rhodes lived an unfulfilled life for a mistake he made years earlier. When he found a way to get back into Drew's life, he took it by the horns. But winning her heart back was the least of his concern when there are other factors that could keep them apart

I chose this book because it seems like a fun, light read. It was that, but also turned out a little different than I expected.

“I’m not jealous, Drew. I’m territorial. Jealous is wanting something that isn’t yours. Territorial is protecting what’s already yours."

Even though I like how possessive and protective Axle was, I have to say some of the things he said and did to other character(s) didn't make him a boyfriend material lol! And his character was eclipsed by Drew.

“Tell me you thought about me.”
“Every day,” I answer honestly however I didn’t feel the need to add that most days I wanted him run over by a truck.

Drew was a no nonsense woman with mouth of a sailor. She's hardworking with a take charged attitude that's admirable. I love how she's a hardass with a hidden heart of gold.

She hid it behind her bad ass don’t fuck with me attitude but I knew her, I knew the real her. Which was why it didn’t surprise me she had an assassin on speed dial.

I like how there are suspense and actions weaved into the story. It made that part of the plot interesting. However, the part where they mended their relationship could be elaborated. It was settled too quickly/easily.

“This cock has a lot of horsepower,” he says running it between my legs, marveling at my response.

I also had hard time trying to feel invested with the characters. Their antics were amusing (I love the vibrator scene!), but I just couldn't care for them as much as I wanted.

"Losing you the first time altered the course of my life. Losing you a second time would unravel it.”

Mercy F*uck is a story of a couple overcoming their less than stellar history and make something good out of it. It would appeal to readers looking for fun characters who don't take themselves seriously.

Note:
I have a soft spot for Shane. And yes, even Carrie lol!

If I could rate this more I would KS brought it. Grand slam!
This book is NOT for those who
*do not like alpha males
*do not like strong female leads
*prefer women to be timid
*prefer their books to be sunshine and rainbow farts
*who do not like ruthless
*who can't enjoy sarcasm

I would rank Drew in my top ten female leads. With sarcasm, quick wit and a great right hook

Axle is the perfect blend of A$$hole and Hero

‼️I should have LOVED THIS!
A miscommunication that leads to a break up? Not my fav but I’m still here….
A h that stands up for herself and goes on to to have a satisfying sex life? Woohooo yes 🙌🏻
Yay I mean FINALLY! Role reversal! Right!?

Whomp whomp😒 but alas this was so bad I couldn’t enjoy this.

‼️All the things I loved about this book like….
-The h ex fuck buddies showing up making the H jelly🥳
-Or the fact that she didn’t cave to fast 🥳
-Or the fact that she had sex!!! W OM!!! And wasn’t some panting celibate simp waiting for the H to love her🥳
All this was overshadowed by the horrid and extremely CHILDISH writing and the loose storyline and lack of real depth.

‼️the h should have been a BADASS BITCH but instead she came across as crass and trashy😫 and why did she have to think of the H every time she had sex w OM for 9 yrs!!??? That’s extreme

‼️The H….. well he was plain stupid. He called her a mercy fuck after popping her cherry! Did you not think she would find out. How about the fact that you loved her and she was your BFF. Oh and don’t get me started on the reason he did it 😳🙄. So dumb
But then he has to go get MARRIED for 7 Years! Wow I can tell you miss her.

-And you worked for her dad and grandfather for years but couldn’t find her? Oh wait you were married so yeah I doubt you looked very hard.

Oh but wait…. You didn’t love your wife so alls good👍🏻

What a waste of what my dream revenge book could have been. Please someone write a kickass heroine that has amazing sex without the H and sticks to her guns and lives a fulfilled life. And H that has regret and doesn’t fucking move on w OW!!!!!!! Please please write it well

***** 5 "Smart Ass Funny As Hell Goodness" Stars ****

 photo DREW_zps225a382m.jpg

" Feelings and romance were for pussies."

Drew fell head over heals in love with her soulmate Axle Rhodes. They spent every minute together for two years. They new everything about the other and their hearts and lives were made for each other. When they finally spoke of the feelings that each of the shared equally for each other, they consummated their new love. The passion was off the charts. Nothing could ruin them until there was a knock on the door. A knock that would forever change both of their lives.

Drew's heart is shattered forever changing her into a hard knocks woman that doesn't not put up with shit from anyone.

"I became the mercy fuck master."

Nine years later, fate turns the table on Drew and her past comes face to face with her and he is not about to take NO for an answer.

 photo axle_zpsxt5wjwqa.jpg

Axle has his work cut out for him. He has never understood why Drew left him. The Drew he comes face to face with is not the love struck girl he once knew. This Drew is going to give Axle a run for his money.

This book is filled with the best sarcastic banter I have ever read. You not only get some steamy scenes but you get two MC's that are amazing! The writing is some of the funniest stuff I have read as well as serious when it counts. Believe me, this is not all just about sexy fun, there is a great side story filled with explosive drama.

KS Adkins......YOU ARE A FAVE!!! Loved every page of this book!!

Meh. The heroine is a bartender and poor and the hero is rich and college student. He starts flirting with her, they date and she gives him her vCard. Then someone knocks at his door and it’s a college friend, and the heroine hears the hero telling him she was a mercy f*ck. She leaves him. Never comes back. Nine years later she owns a bar and she’s the one doing the mercy fuggs. She fuggs them and leaves them. The hero finds her again. His life was not good, he dumped his college, was disowned by his family, married a plain woman he never cared and never had sex after a few months of marriage. He never knew why she left. Now they are forced to stay together because he’s a cop and she’s in danger.
They clear the air, the hero was only trying to keep his friends off her because he was that jealous. He never moved on, never had other women beside the pitiful wife for some months. The heroine has had many men.
I didn’t like it so much. Ok, no double standards and all was born on a BM, she could have told him and he would have explained. They were young and naive, but anyway the heroine is a badass who cusses and beats the s..t out of grown up men, she is too harsh and outspoken. She definitely became bitter and not better.
Then his ex wife comes out and she’s definitely plain and mousy, but was it really necessary that she and the heroine became besties?
And all the cussing and I’m a badass was unnerving.
I don’t know, the hero never found her but was it because he couldn’t or because he wouldn’t?
Why marry a woman he never loved but marry her he did?
I didn’t dislike it because there’s no double standards but I didn’t like it either.

Well now .... this was .. different

okay, so the blurb drew me in. it was refreshing. in your face. and that's exactly what i got from this story! LOooooVED it!

Our female lead is as strong as they come and our male lead is not so bad himself :)
I loved that we're immediately, from the start, taken back in time to how Drew and Axel first met. It gave me, as a reader, the immidiate information I needed about them both. And I like that. I don't like waiting and waiting ... It allowed the story to focus on the present and allowed us to understand Drew and Axel better.

The story goes thru a roller-coaster of moods, if you will. The beginning was a little on the sad side because it's the past ... then it gets all kinds of dramatic and maybe a little humorous (because seriously with the name calling lol) and then it takes a turn to heart-warming and sexy and *happy sigh* ... It was a really fun ride!

Axle Rhodes... Be still my ❤ Drew... Girl you kick ass!

So, here I am cruising facebook and goodreads looking for something to catch my eye. The title Mercy F*ck jumps at me. I read the blurb, and to be completely honest, wasn't sold so I moved on. However, it stuck with me. Since I can't stop thinking about it, I download to kindle and start it just to see what exactly happens. Let me tell you... I read for 2 hours and realize I'm gonna have to put this down so I can get up for work the next day, and I am pissed. I was hooked from the start and dammit, I didn't wanna put it down! Good thing for me I was able to finagle reading time at work today ;)

Drew is the oldest of 5 daughters and has a strong sense of family values so she gets a job to help her parents out. At a bar. Turns out, she's a damn good bartender. Axle is a college student who comes in one night and they strike up a conversation which leads to a solid friendship over time. One night they decide to take it all the way, but the next morning some stuff goes down. Major misunderstanding that totally hurt my heart for these two. This is what I was anxious to find out about. The blurb doesn't give you much to go on, but I wanted to know why he calls her a mercy f*ck if they were so close! Well, she hears and it doesn't make her happy so she high tails it outta there!

Fast forward 9 years. Drew and Axle haven't seen or spoken during this time apart. By random chance, Axle comes across some information on Drew and decides to seek her out now that he's finally able to find her. Their reunion is epic. Nine years is a long time, and both are not the same as they were when they were young and in love. Drew has hardened her heart and refuses to be the mercy f*ck for anyone. They have some hurdle to overcome if they want to get back on track.

Some of those hurdles include gunfire, bombings, keeping the friendly neighborhood assassins in check and a dirty cop out for revenge. Things are not boring that's fo sho! ;)

I think Drew was so awesome because she was definitely a strong female lead who could, without a doubt, take care of herself. She didn't let anyone push her around. No simpering female here. It's really refreshing to see a heroine who starts out as a strong woman, and stays that way throughout the book. Too often the heroins start that way and by the end, the hero comes in and just takes over. Axle was most assuredly an alpha intent on protecting her, but he recognized she could fend for herself. They had to work together to come to a mutual understanding that while she can, and will, stand on her own, he's still gonna be there to have her back. I loved their bantering back and forth and how they worked together. ❤

I really had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book. What I found though, was that I absofreakinglutely LOVED every action packed second and I didn't want to put it down! This is a non stop ride and I loved every bit. The plot was thickening around every corner. Who was trying to kill them? And was it Drew or Axle they were after? Or both?! Add in some crazy supporting characters and it was amazeballs. My favorite sc was hands down Carrie. That bitch was nuts! In the best way though. Everything she did had me laughing and wondering what the hell she was on! And Tiny... Dude. Lol And during all this action was Drew and Axle trying to find their way back to each other. Can they pick up after all these years apart and will they even mesh well now that they're older and different? Read it!

This is my first book from this author and I promise it won't be the last. I really loved her writing style. It was fresh and realistic with the witty dialogue and banter between the h/h. The only way I can really think to describe it is modern. There'e slang and cursing and I don't know it just really clicked for me. I really liked the tone, if that makes sense. So much so, I even had to message her to tell her she has a new stalker! ;) (don't worry, she's cool with it :D )

I really love when I find a random book that I honestly don't know how it will go, and it ends up becoming an all time favorite and I get to add a new author to my ever growing list of favorites. :)

**Reread 8/16/21**

So I was looking through my books and reviews trying to find something to read, when I read my original review for this. I had a good laugh but was sad I couldn’t remember most of the book, especially why I liked Carrie lol. Lo and behold, once again I couldn’t put it down. I laughed so much and loved this book all over again. And Carrie is still a nut and my favorite side chick. Axle and Drew are awesome and I loved them just as much the second time around. This will definitely be added to my frequent flyer shelf. It needs to be reread often.

As this started, I thought the voice of the FMC, Drew, was going to grate my nerves. The BMF #hearts #kisses shit ended, and when she cock-punched him instead of crying or even saying a word, I knew I found a kindred book spirit.

It’s like Harley Quinn landed a lead role in Coyote Ugly.

Writing…

The problem with this entire venture was, taking over a business required a lot of man-hours and I had yet to take on any new business because I needed to close out the old first.

Between improvements to the building, transferring licenses, and buying a computer to store shit electronically, meant I was just now able to find the time to sort through the mess he left behind.

If Axle was a tank before, he was a fucking tank now.

The technical writing is horrible. Like pin the tail on the donkey, the author just blindly sticks a punctuation anywhere her hand lands. The sentence structure is also all off kilter and almost every sentence is plagued with one or both problems. Yes, I am reading what’s been labeled as the “revised” and “edited” version, which makes me terrified that the original must’ve been all but unreadable.

It’s repetitive. The author says the same thing several ways before moving on, which makes the story feel like deadweight.

Hated all the flashbacks. Didn’t offer solid history or character development. Just useless page fluff.

Some mild humor…

Blocking my escape again, this time crossing his arms over his massive chest to prove he wasn’t afraid of me and to entice me with his insane muscles no doubt. Instantly I was frustrated that; A) it worked. B) he morphed into an even larger unmovable man. C) That I wanted to lick him from sac to sternum. D) That I was soaking wet just by being in close proximity, and E) That I was out of batteries.

Characters

I adored her. She was cool AF and unapologetically a hardass. She kept me reading until we find out he got married during their nine year separation.

The MMC was too dry. His personality was like watching paint dry, and that didn’t match with her. When he finally gets some umph to him, it’s all the wrong stuff.

Plot

Misunderstanding causes nine-year separation. *eyeroll*

He indeed said what he said, and it meant exactly what she thought. But, the “mercy fuck” was said with a different motive than she thought. WTF kinda bullshit antihero retreat is that? He said it not because she was one, but he just didn’t want anyone else to get into her pants. That’s weak shit. He’s not sorry about it… he just wants forgiveness and a second chance. It’s anticlimactic. It’s BS.

The ex wife speech was one of the most nauseating moments in book history.

The ex wife reveal is too scattered and chunked to repost, but basically he married someone else opposite of her, treated her like shit, ignored her mental health issues, and divorced her. If that’s not bad enough, he uses all of this as a pep talk to get the FMC to fight for him because his fucked up ex wife he didn’t love fought for him.

That’s when I’m done. As much as I like the FMC, I can’t stand a prick disguised and painted up as a hero. Nope. Give me a hero or an antihero, but don’t put them in costumes.

Don’t care who is shooting at them. Don’t care if she’s stupid enough to give this f’r a second chance. Done ~

Heartbreaking, hilarious, swoony 4.5 stars

I stumbled on this book quite by accident; I was completely new to KS Adkin, and was I going to take a chance on a new author. Duh absolutely! So I got it and then read the blurb and I knew it was going be a heartbreaker. Little did I know I would fall in love the story and the characters in it.

The story starts off with Drew and Axle in their youth. They meet at a bar where Drew worked and promptly both lose their hearts to each other. First they were just friends, then best friend and then more. And then two words ruined everything, Drew left with a broken heart and a dark soul. The part where those words were uttered my heart was just torn into pieces; I could NOT believe Axle could utter them but utter them he does and the world stops spinning.

Fast forward nine years in the future, Axle owns a bounty hunter business and stumbles upon a box, a box that has everything from his past that he cannot forget, a picture of Drew. He still ddidn’t know what had happened to the girl he fell in love with or where she went when she left him in his dorm room nine years ago. She had just vanished, he tried looking but to no avail. So he was going to find out why her picture was in a bounty hunter's box and he wasn’t going to rest until he found her and got her back. At this point I was totally ecstatic, I was rooting for Axle because the boy who fell in love would not say those words and mean them, there must be something else, RIGHT? Maybe its wishful thinking on my part but we shall know soon.

So Axle finds Drew and all hell breaks loose. She hates him, and I mean she hates him, she calls him all sorts of names. *commence giggling and rolling on the floor* Seriously I did NOT expect to laugh as much as I did. It was seriously funny. And then there was Axle fighting back in his way. More name calling ensued and more laughing and then there were all these shootings, Axle diving to cover Drew, Drew punching Axle to get him off, things blowing up. Utter chaos! Drew blamed Axle for all the mayhem because someone started shooting after he showed up. So it was all Axle’s fault.

Axle being the protective alpha male, finds out why her photo was in the bounty hunter box. The truth about Shane comes out and why Drew beat him up and who Willis was and then what ensues is both heartbreaking and swoon-worthy. So while everything was blowing up or getting holes in it, Axle explains to Drew what happened on that fateful day nine years ago. He is hellbent on getting his girl and his HEA. Then Carrie shows up with Tiny, OH MY GOD, Carrie was a breath of crazy air and I laughed some more. She has a connection to Axle which may or may not shock some people. And then there was the whole scene with Drew’s dad that had me bawling and then the whole deal with Willis happens and then more Willis and I was not a happy reader. I wanted to throat punch Willis and then kick Willis some more and I MEAN some more.

I did not expect this book to be so much fun, it’s not at all what I expected it to be, which was a little dark and twisty and messy. It was sad at first, then funny and action filled and then swoony and sexy and hilafreakingrious and then sad and twisty in another way. I loved reading it, it was sweet and swoony for sure. Would I recommend it, yeppers cos everyone needs to laugh as much as I did and fall in love with Axle and his Drew.

It's official I love K.S. Adkins' books and writing. This was another amazing story from her. She can't do anything wrong. This story is about Drew and Axle and their second chance. Drew left Axle when she heard two words but they meet again 9 years later. Their getting back together wasn't easy but it was so worth it.

"I'll keep it safe this time", he whispered and I felt the sincerity.
"I haven't changed. I'm still the guy who wants to invest in you.
Shit, I was all in before we even had sex. I know the difference
between lust and love. Lust is fleeting, love is you. You left before
I could show you that guy, Drew. You shouldn't have left.

While reading it painted the picture of the movie, "Cowboy Ugly" in my minds eye. Which come on, that was one hot as well bar, right?

Not only drawback was how wildly popular this girl had become. Plus, I'm not buying that the girl was hot and had no clue. Please as a woman, that shit is insulting. Woman are petty fucks that will cut another woman deeper than any man could just to make herself feel prettier. Yep, we woman are some crazy ass bitch's. And we own but no man can say it.

However, that twist. What a hook. Loved it!

Can't wait to read more from this author.

I really liked this book

3.5 stars!

I loved the heroine. She actually was baddass!! The dialogue was really witty, and funny at times. However the hero would have benefitted from having more of a life. Seems as though in the times since the heroine left him 9 years ago, he hasnt been up to much, while she has been building an empire.

I loved the sense of love and loyalty the heroine had about the people around her. And I just really like the total commitment the hero had to getting Drew back.

it was a fun read!!!

What can I say..I Loved this book! This was a first read by K.S. Adkins and I will be reading more from her. The main character Drew was a mean, angry, b*tch and I loved her. Axel is Axel, omg is he a smart a$$ed alpha and I loved him. This book had me laughing hard at times, maybe at certain parts I don't think I should have but I do have a twisted sense of humor and so does the author obviously. This book had action and not just the sexual kind, though it did have that too and those rocked as well. If you like your leading ladies dainty and refined this book is not for you. If you like a hard, filthy mouthed, bad ass chicky then this book should be up your alley.

Loved Drew and Axle. First love...found love...bombs...guns and weirdos OH MY. Always love the banter, friendship and loyalty you find in a KS Adkins book. Her words all mean something, they aren't just there. A territorial, possessive, kick ass man AND woman is always going to be on the agenda. No pansy ass girls here. Drew was awesome. If you haven't read a KS book, you need to lace up your combat boots...drop an F bomb and get reading!

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review**
And an honest review you shall receive! Oh holy Hell are you in for a wild ride! If you read the title and you are intrigued then just keep going! I need an option to rate this higher than 5 stars. Drew is a bada$$ female lead who does NOT take any crap from anyone...including Axle. Axle and Drew become close and he takes her V card. However, she hears him talking about his mercy f*ck and she immediately nut shots him and walks the F out to never look back. Now it’s nine years later and their paths cross. Neither are the same person now and Axle is pushing to get Drew to hear his side and she wants nothing of it. This story is hardcore, funny, hot and all around bada$$! You can’t help but get sucked into this story and the way they interact is addicting. At times I was laughing out loud and couldn’t wait to see what the next insult was going to be sent Axle’s way. But at the same time I am laughing they are getting into fights, breaking up fights, and getting shot at. Absolute craziness!

“No, you’re bribing me, and not very well I might add. Your job is to track bond jumpers, mine is to serve drinks. Each was a choice, unlike you, my job isn’t trying to kill me. Also, unlike you, I don’t give a flying f*ck why that is.” “If that was true you wouldn’t have returned fire,” he says smugly. “Bullshit,” I snort in a non-lady-like fashion. “My a$$ was in the way and it’s a great a$$, it’s an a$$ that doesn’t want to get shot.” “I had that a$$ in my hands once,” he says way too softly . “That a$$ changed my life. F*cking missed it.” And before I could fire back, he grabbed the front of my Johnny Cash vintage t-shirt that took five years to break in, hauled me across the armrest and kissed me.

To this day, I was still on the fence as to which I liked better; my first fight or my first orgasm. Both were pretty fucking amazing for a lot of different reasons. Shane would have to decide for himself which he liked better, it was a guy’s rite of passage.

“I love you, Drew.” “I love you too, Axle.” “Loved you a long time.” “I know. Because I have too.” “I’m going to say it a lot.” “And I promise, I’ll do the same.”

This is the first book that I have read by KS Adkins and will not, under any circumstances, will be the last. Drew and Axle were at each other’s mercy and I was at KS’s mercy with this story. It’s a hilarious, bada$$, and cute as f*ck story....I am hooked!

I am not a fan of reading about characters who fight for the sake of fighting. It's a bit tacky and vulgar to me, yet I'm not one who enjoys pain. Nor can I understand people who enjoy pain.

However, once I figured out that would be a central theme in this book, I almost abandoned it, but something kept me reading. That thing told me to hold on; the book would get better. And it did.

If there was an award for a character who won me over, it would go to Drew. I really didn't like her at first. Once she let go of her grudge from the past (one she created, by the way), she was almost everything I love about a female lead. Minus the fighting, she was funny, feisty, sexy, comfortable in her own skin, mouthy, strong and kick ass. I love strong females, and she didn't disappoint.

Axle was not too bad, a sweet alpha who had no problem letting Drew take the reigns every once on a while, but I couldn't get past how he treated his ex. Poor Carrie, he was an absolute asshole to her. Her only crime was not being Drew. Horrible.

Okay, so their nickname war was annoyingly immature and got on my nerves really quickly. And as previously mentioned, I didn't like the scrappy nature of both characters, but when they were sweet, I loved it.

I will say this: the book was like the Energizer bunny. It could have ended in several places. I said, "Oh, look, it's the end, but there's more chapters where stuff you thought was resolved will finally get resolved. Now it's the end... nope. More stuff you didn't know wasn't resolved happens." It kept going and going and...

Although it was a bit seedier than I like, I did like it.

My first K.S Adkins book and I loved it. Drew is one bad ass heroine! She was confident, a bitch and protective about the people she loved.

Axel our hero was protective and demanding when it came to drew. One thing I DIDN'T like about our HERO was the fact that he married someone knowing damn well he didn't love her. His whole attitude towards his ex-wife was shit. She didn't deserve it and yeah they helped her find her happiness, but it still doesn't change how he treated her.

The chemistry between Axel and Drew was off the charts. I loved the banter between them. I did like how protective he was of her

I think what really made this book 4 stars for me was Drew and Shane's relationship. Drew took him in after her wronged her and set him straight. My heartbroken at the situation he was put in, but Drew never stopped caring and taking care of her boy. I loved that he knew she had his back through it all.

I think I got to.....20% ish before I tapped out.

The whole angst of the book was that they eff (after TWO fucking years of being together jaysus crust) in his college dorm. His roommate or whoever the fuck comes in and asks if he mercy fucked the h. She hears "stop it man!" But doesn't stop to understand or talk to the H. Just junk punches him and runs off for 9 fuckimg years 🙄🙄🙄

Anyhoo, he apparently becomes a bounty hunter and takes over the business of the hs friend and he goes after her because she has a bounty on her head.

The reason I quit? Good lord..... She's the most bad assness bad ass woman I've ever met. She carries around A negan type bat (minus the spikes and if you don't know negan than.....psh, you don't know what youre missing with that) and she will fuck up anyone at her 5' nothing stature 😬😬😐 this is the same reason why I quit den of vipers when everyone was raving about it. No. IT doesn't work for me. She's just annoying and kind of a poser 🤷😂

Wanna know how a badass BELIEVABLE woman heroine is done? Go read mindfuck by st. abby. I blew.through those books in 4 days. And there's 5 or 6 of them 😂😂

This book is so annoying

This book absolutely killed it for me! Loved it.
OTT hot alpha, strong fiesty heroine.. Crazy secondary characters and a whole lot of badassery! Oh and giant black dildo just to make things interesting.

There is a few things that at first read are little iffy but the further you read on things get straightened out. And just yeah, totally my kind of book.

Two kick a$$ characters that connect when they are young. When Drew thinks she is a mercy f*ck she takes off. Many years later Axle finds her and vows to never loose her again. This is not your sweet romance. Drew and Axle find plenty of trouble and are always kicking a$$. Great story.
