Super short shifter book.
I wasn't overly crazy about the mate thing here. He didn't know she was his fated mate until he had sex with her, and they had both wanted each other for years. He stayed away from her because she was human and his best friends sister, and she thought he just saw her as the brother's little sister.
I wish it had been a bit longer also. That said I would totally read a book about Dean! All in all it was a pretty good way to spend an hour.

-Short story but the world building is good
-The H/h have genuine heat and liked the way Ms. Carter set up their history together
-Because of that history, the story flowed well
-Didn’t really feel connected to Grayslake, but still worked
-I hope it continues as a series because I would like to know what happened to Kacie and Dean, as well as whether Lily will find a mate.
I really enjoyed it. It’s the best of this Grayslake offshoot series that I’ve read and I'd recommend it.

OMG...I was so excited about this KW Grayslake that origninally started by Celia Kyle. This was actually to be released tomorrow but it was available early and I snagged it cause huge fan of Mina Carter's as well!
I absolutely loved it! It was awesome and sweet...hawt! I really enjoyed reading about Creed and Kait. Kait left years ago after her brother died but now is back after a nasty break up with her fiance. Creed's always wanted her and loved her. She was his but because she's human he had to keep his distance because its forbidden to tell their secret. Well...circumstances have changed and she learns it anyways after an attack. Its the perfect opportunity to claim her for his since she's always been his. She's always had a thing for Creed but always thought he never thought of her that way. Boy was she wrong. I think the sweetest part well one of them was when she comes into his tattoo parlor and wants a tat and how sweet is it he drew one just for her. Awww. I really enjoyed it and hopefully we get some more. I adored Lilly...adored! We didnt see a lot of Kacie but hopefully her story isnt over cause obviously the Itan Dean....feels something for her. I thought he was cool too for an Itan. Highly recommend and I love this little spin off of Grayslake!

Kaitlyn has returned to her hometown after breaking up with her fiance and is having a night out with her friends. They stop at the tatoo place run by her older brother's best friend. Kait has had a crush on him for a long time but he treats her like a kid sister. Later that evening the girls are attacked by 5 strange men with claws?! and her friend is badly hurt.
Creed has loved Kait for a long time but she is human and doesn't know the shifter secret so Creed keeps his difference. Now that Kait has been attacked and knows the truth, he is free to claim her.
It was great reading how the 2 who loved each other a long time were finally able to be together. Creed's tenderness and protectiveness was touching and Kait's courage and open-mindedness was amazing.

Off limits, that is how bear shifter Creed always saw Kaitlyn Turner. It wasn't only that she was his best friends sister, it was the fact he was a shifter and it was all a carefully hidden secret. Besides last Creed had heard Kaitlyn was engaged. Now she is back in Lizard Lick broken engagement and ready to let off some steam, which gets her in trouble. Creed though steps up and claims Kaitlyn as his own, finally he gets a chance at the only woman he ever wanted as a mate.
Liked Creed, he was unusual for a shifter. Broody, dominant, and oozing in alpha male. Kaitlyn is perfect for Creed. Loved how the story played out, full of surprises.

Wow! I love it! Creed's Claim by Mina Carter is one of the first releases in Amazon and Celia Kyle's brand new Grayslake More Than Mated Kindle Worlds Collection. I adore Celia Kyle and have been a diehard Mina Carter fan for several years and look forward to all her new releases. Carter is an exceptionally gifted storyteller with a boundless imagination who never fails to deliver a well crafted, fun-filled, delightfully entertaining story filled to the brim with heart-pounding danger, heart-wrenching drama, heated attraction, fiery passion, dreamy love and good old fashioned humor. And did I mention the steamy sex? No? Well, if you've ever read any of Carter's books, you know I don't have to mention it because it's always included. That's one of the things I enjoy most about Mina's stories along with the fact that her books are well edited with beautiful covers and always include magnificent characters and lots of of action, in and out of the sheets! And this standalone novella is no exception. It may be relatively short, coming in at approximately 75 to 80 pages but it packs quite a punch. This story is beautifully written in the third person with alternating his and her points of view from the two protagonists, beautiful Kaitlyn Turner and handsome half human, half bear shifter Creed, tattoo artist and owner of Lizard Iron and Ink. I fell in love with Kait and Creed and was immediately drawn into the story by these two characters and found myself holding my breath, desperately hoping they would find their way into each other's arms. And of course they did! They were captivating, engaging and sexy as sin with a sexual chemistry that was off the charts hot! The pace of the story was brisk but steady and comfortable. The dialogue was seductive, well executed, flowed effortlessly and full of snappy prose. I loved it! Carter skillfully combines all these elements to craft a heartwarming paranormal romance that will capture your imagination, melt your heart and leave you satisfied and well entertained. What did I love about this story? Duh, is that a trick question? I loved everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing! WOuld I recommend this book? You bet and I am! Will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book!
Kaitlyn Turner thought she finally had everything she wanted. Had being the operative word. She HAD a loving brother, Mark, but he died in an accident. After she left home and moved to the city, she HAD a great job but sadly, it no longer made her happy. She also HAD a fiance but he turned out to be a real jerk who never seemed to be satisfied with her appearance and her being.... well.... her. So she kicked him to the curb and decided to return to her hometown of Lizard Lick for a much needed visit with her two besties, Lilly Braun and Kacie Leroy. Creed is a half-bear shifter who has always struggled to shift, but he's still strong and an Enforcer for his bear clan. He's a tattoo artist in his spare time and has loved Kaitlyn Turner from afar for years, but hasn't ever approached her for two reasons: first, he's a shifter and second, she was the sister of his best friend who died several years ago. When she left the town of Lizard Lick, he always assumed he'd lost his chance. Now she's back and gets a rough introduction to the world of bear shifters. Unfortunately, now that she knows, she either has to mate into the clan or die. Creed is happy to step forward and offer to be her mate and she doesn't seem to reluctant to accept. Now is the chance to show her how much he loves her.
This was a fairly strong showing to the Grayslake world. You really don't need to have any knowledge of the Grayslake universe to read this one - it doesn't even take place in the same town and none of the original characters show up. This is just using the same rules for shifters. The coming together of Kait and Creed wasn't particularly angsty. In fact, I almost think this book needed her to be hesitant or in some way resistant to the idea of her not having any choice but to mate with Creed. These two could have used a little bit of angst. I actually found myself more intrigued with Kacie and Dean's story and wanted to know more about them.

I could’ve sworn I’ve read this book before... but I find no hardship to reread it.
Creed has been in love with Kaitlyn since they were kids but her brother was his best friend and she was human while he was a werebear.
Then something happens that gives Creed the opening he needed to claim her as his. After a long talk and stuff, we do get our happy every after.
Really enjoying this universe. And of course, reading Mina Carter is a treat.
Hope the other girls get their stories too.

Excellent!
This is the second book I read in this Kindle World today, both by new to me authors. This book like the last was amazingly well written. It was an absolute perfect fit in this world. It was so good I purchased the rest of the Kindle Worlds books listed at the end of this book. I also purchased more of her work! Highly recommend this series, this author!

Oh soo gooood. I loved how he has always wanted her but she was off limits. I loved how he couldn't ever fully shift easy. And he didn't know she was his fated mate till they kissed because she had always been the one he kept his distance because he was friends with her brother. And it was only66 pages but the chemistry between then was awesome and the sex scenes were as well.

This is a short story but didn’t read like a short story. The only part that did was at the very end, I wanted one more happy scene with the couple...maybe I just wanted kore because I like this story.

Creed has always known Kait is his fated one and has loved her for years, but Kait doesn't know about shifters, until.....
I love Mina Carter's books, I've been reading them for a few years, have bought and read over forty and it's no secret she's one of my favourite authors. Her stories are always well written, she never disappoints and she always make me laugh. 'Creed's Claim' is her first book in Celia Kyle's new Grayslake: More Than Mated series for Amazon's Kindle Worlds. It's well written in the third person and although it's actually set in a town called Lizard Lick, the terminology and clan hierarchy are the same although it's a different clan. It's still a 5 star read and I absolutely loved it. Colour me happy and bring on the next one....I can't wait.
Kaitlyn Turner is Creed's fated mate, and although he's always known, always loved her, their strict laws meant he couldn't do anything about it. Kait doesn't know about shifters and Creed has been forced to keep his distance for too many years. There are revelations aplenty for Kait as she's thrown into a world she never knew existed and her gentle giant, Creed, is unmasked as a very dominant character whose half bear, half human heritage makes him a target for some nasty comments and abuse from a gang of specieist morons who give the impression they never progressed past kindergarten, led by the town Sheriff, an unstable and nasty piece of work by the name of Anderson who, having been turned down three times by the Itan, Dean Sterling, as a clan enforcer, is jealous that Creed is one of the best and even more abusive to the clan's Head Enforcer, Lilly Braun. But his cronie, Harrison, is even more stupid and has murder on his mind. He just won't let things lie....
This is a terrific short read and it's packed with story from cover to cover so it's really hard to tell you much without giving spoilers. There's so much background woven into the present day events that along the way you end up knowing a lot about the lead characters and the book's major players without it taking up much of the story, with the majority of the book focussing on the situation that Creed and Kait now find themselves in. It's action packed, humorous, steamy and the love these two have for each other shines through on nearly every page.
I think my sense of humour must have become a little warped, because although this story made me laugh, some of my biggest chuckles came from the anticipation of what was going to happen to the clan nasties when the consequences of their rank stupidity finally dawned on them. I was lucky enough to be given a copy of this fantastic book by the author in exchange for an honest review and I was overjoyed. Why? Mina Carter is one of my favourite authors of hot, steamy, paranormal romance and because Kindle Worlds books are only available from Amazon US, and only to US residents, so international readers like me can't actually buy them but, fortunately for me, I've been reading both Mina Carter and Celia Kyle books for years, both separately and as collaborations, and had already bought the first five Grayslake stories when they were originally published and long before they became a Kindle Worlds series.

I love Mina Carter's books, I've been reading them for a few years, have bought and read over forty and it's no secret she's one of my favourite authors. Her stories are always well written, she never disappoints and she always make me laugh. 'Creed's Claim' is her first book in Celia Kyle's new Grayslake: More Than Mated series for Amazon's Kindle Worlds. It's well written in the third person and although it's actually set in a town called Lizard Lick, the terminology and clan hierarchy are the same although it's a different clan. It's still a 5 star read and I absolutely loved it. Colour me happy and bring on the next one....I can't wait.

A fast, fun, and super sexy read! I completely adored Creed. A sexy tattooed bad boy shifter, what's not to love.
I'm a huge fan of Mina's books and really liked this one. My only complaint would be that I always want more. I definitely look forward to reading more in this series.

I had to laugh at the name of the clan how Mina came up with that amazing! The author just has this talent to give us a short sassy sweet read. Especially if you're like me and all about the shifter world.
Creed's a wearbear that doesn't shift all that often, his bear is shy or hasn't had the right motivation. Because of that he is shunned a lot, even though he's a enforcer. He's had women, but the only woman he wants is unobtainable.
Kaitlyn a sexy curvy human that's came back home for a visit, see's her girl crush her brothers best friend,that has only seen her as a "little sister".
Then it hits the fan, a human learns of the shifter world, passion sparks, a claim made, jealousy ignighted, all to packed in this sweet story. I recommend it please enjoy.
