Nicole MacDonald is a thirty something year old Kiwi who loves to read and moonlights as a novelist. An avid reader from a young age, writing only occurred to her a few years ago after reading a book that didn’t quite hit the spot. Daily scribbles eventuated into the BirthRight Trilogy, an Epic Fantasy Romance with women who know how to wield a sword, AND swing a punch. A literary journey that included six months of long sword training, as well as ju-jitsu lessons, and self defence lessons for Nicole. When not writing Nicole loves to watch all manner of documentaries, escape to her family's cabin in the woods, and spend time with her other half and their fur critters. You can keep up with her writing at www.nicolemacdonald-author.com or on the BirthRight Trilogy's facebook page.
The 3 books of the series were great. Every time I started reading, I hated to but the book down. This book is the final in the series or is it? I loved all the girls and their powers. It was great finding out that Alec even had powers even though he was a mortal from Earth that all the girls were placed on Earth to make sure they lived. No one knows how they became friends on Earth but it helped when they all came home to their planet and all the trials they have to go thru. I loved where each one was an element and how they learned to control them.
Despite the odd mixture of American and English I have to say that this is a very satisfying series. This book rounds off the first trilogy nicely. The world building is good and the characters have good depth. There is one point on which I would have liked more of the story and that has to do with Leseach. Maybe there will be another book devoted to her? Very good
**This is a review of all 4 books in this series.**
I love the cast of characters in this series. They are realistic and made me laugh and cry. I couldn't put the books down and devoured the entire series in just a few days. I would have given the books a 5-star rating if it were not for all of the grammatical errors throughout. I will gladly revise my review if these are fixed.
Afterburn is the perfect conclusion to the Birthright Trilogy. I cannot recommend this book and the trilogy highly enough. I could not put them down. Once again this book grabbed me from the first to last page, I hope Ms MacDonald writes another book in this series.
Read it after discovering the series. Kept me captivated and will continue to look for more of this series. Love how women are portrayed in different roles.
I loved this book! I am sad that this is the last book for the "The BirthRight Trilogy" I will miss everybody. I hope that the author give us another glimpse at their lives now that they can think about starting a family. AfterBurn picks up right after the ending of book 3 "Feel the Burn" Cat + Alex are crowned queen + king. Kassie + Sian + Loi met their "real" family. ( Hit & Miss ) This was a great ending to the trilogy.
Now, how about another book where all the girls are pregnant at the same time + giving birth at the same time. Wouldn't that be a hoot ? LOL
I love books that help tie up all the loose bits and pieces that are awaiting answers. This book does that in spades. I was so happy that Leseach was finally able to unburden herself. I hope that her and Rashid are finally on the way to happiness. I am glad that the spell to find their soul mates turned out so well and that all that the girls wished for come to pass. I can’t recommend this series enough. Loved it.
I just don't have the words. For a book that was supposed to answer all my questions, it didn't. The actual content could have been an epilogue. The remainder was boring fluff that I just wanted to skim to get through. I don't believe I'll be looking for anything else by this author.
