I've been in a bit of a rut lately with not being able to actually finish a book. Maybe I've read too many and they're all becoming predictable? Maybe people are getting too good with blurbs which makes it harder for me to pick out books I want to read? I don't know, what I do know is that after four or five books that I haven't got very far into, I was actually able to finish this one! That's not a massive compliment admittedly, I've suffered through many a shitty book just because I was bored, but I wouldn't class this as one of them.
The book was well written, and I did enjoy the storyline. The twist at the ending was interesting, and the slight obsession with breast milk meant that the author did attempt to portray the early months of child rearing somewhat accurately. I say somewhat because the rest of it was ignored, but I don't particularly care because who wants to read about how to properly change a nappy? This is primarily a romance novel, and because of that the baby is nothing but a plot point to bring the couple back together. Not something I really mind, but that did mean that we lacked character moments that would have given the novel a lot more of an emotional resonance.
Which brings me to the most important part of any romance, the couple. Because the book is so short, there's not really enough time to get to know the couple, both together and individually. We don't see them fall in love at all, or bond. At the beginning of the book they've been together for six months, but it's a lot of tell and not show, so we aren't able to gauge what makes them a good match. I think that the book could have done a lot better with just a bit more padding, but it wasn't what I look for in a romance novel, which is why I've given it 2.5 stars.
This is the second book in the Triple Threat series by the very talented R.E. Saxton. These books are standalones but I highly recommend reading all of them so you get to know all three of these delicious identical triplets. Luka Rinaldi is the youngest of the identical triplets and he's Consigliere to his brother, Dominic. He loves his family more than anything and he'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe including keeping their secrets. Abby is a college student and she's been dating Luka for six months she's living in his penthouse. She's in love with Luka and she thinks he loves her too but she doesn't want to scare him off by telling him too soon. On the day she finds out she's pregnant she's walking home and gets questioned by a corrupt FBI agent asking her about Luka. Abby had no idea that Luka and his brothers were in the mafia but when she sees proof of it she fleas the city never telling him about the baby.

ACQUISITION by R.E. Saxton and Kit Tunstall
When Abby fell for Luka, she knew nothing about who he was and what he did. When she finds out his a mob boss and then witnesses him murdering a FBI agent, Abby runs to protect herself and the life she now carries.
A year later Luka finds her and he takes her back. He owns her and his going to make her pay for her betrayals. But nothing is ever that simple or black and white, especially since she is the mother of his child and he still loves her.
But Abby's not giving in that easily, assuring herself that she will not give in to him and his lifestyle. Resisting Luka is proving more difficult than she thought, since she still loves him.
When the youngest Rinaldi gets abducted by a corrupt politician, the whole family sets out to find him. When the Senator attempts to black mail the family, it's not the Rinaldi brothers he has to watch out for, it's Abby and she's reached her breaking point.
This is the first book in the Triple Threat series that I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The storyline was very entertaining. It had murder, corruption, love and kidnapping. I loved the characters, Luka and Abby, they were amazing characters. It was refreshing that the mob boss was a softy and the girl had such a kick arse side. There was some uniqueness to this story that I really liked as well. Overall this was a really sweet read and I'm looking forward to reading Roman and Dominic's stories!
I am really enjoying this series, the storyline is very good, and it has you so engrossed that you just keep reading. This book is about Luka one of the triplets and A by. A by is a good girl who happens to get hit by a car that Luka is driving, she is ok but Luka is completely smitten. It isn't until Abby finds out that Luka is in the mafia along with his brothers that things between them go arye. Abby witnesses Luka kill someone and she takes off, she fears for her and her unborn childs safety. The book then flash forwards some months into the future and while he was conducting business out of town he runs into Abby, and he also gets a shock of a lifetime he's a dad. He takes Abby and Lucas back home with him. At first the relationship is strained that is until their son is kidnapped. With Abby you get the sense that she feels that this life is not her, but when Lucas is kidnapped she finds herself doing things she says she cannot accept. It just goes to show you how fierce a mother can be when its to protect her child. This book has a good plot and is easy to follow, you don't necessarily have to read the first book before you read this one, but it would just enhance this read more.
*** Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review *** This is another astonish addition to the Triple Threat series. Abby Collins and Luka Rinaldi met though a true accident." Luka hit Abby while she was walking across the street" and the attraction took precedence over the accident. Abby is a young, naive, quiet college student and didn't know what kind of job Luka performed but he sister Haley kept warning her daily. After being confronted by an FBI agent and watching her lover kill the agent that confronted her, Abby struggles with herself as to what she should do, who to believe and scarpered to protect herself and the secret she was hiding. It took almost a year for Luka to discover her secret and the sh** hit the fan.. I loved that Abby had to show her butt and kick some as well:). This story is full of corruption, murder, secrecy, kidnapping and extortion that ramble throughout this book. I have no intention of spoiling your reading pleasure by telling you the story of the book. Just get it, you won't be disappointed! I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Abby Collins fell head over heels in love with Luka Rinaldi. Luka has hidden the fact that he is a member of the mafia, it isn't until she is confronted by an FBI agent that she finds out the truth. She follows Luka to an old building, and watches him kill a man, she decides to run and moves to another city. Luka has never stopped looking for A by, so when he sees her working in a hotel where he is staying while conducting business, he makes plans to grab her and take her home. Luka grabs her as she leaves work, when she insists she has to make a stop before they leave the city, Luka finds out that he is a father. Fascinating twists of plot, likeable characters, sizzling hot sex, suspense and violence. Fantastic book!
Abby has fallen for Luka and thinks he maybe be the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with. But when she watches Luka kill a man, she runs away to protect herself and her unborn baby. Luka never stops looking for her and when he finds her and realizes she has been keeping his son Lucas from him, he is furious. Can the two of them put aside the anger they are feeling towards the other and realize they still love each other? Or will a bad guy taking what's most important to them be what it takes to bring them together? Don't miss this story... ARC provided for review
This story was fine it didn't totally piss me off, I was able to complete reading. Although it really was filled with lots of familiar tropes, characters weren't very strong but again not the worst I've ever read. Still feels like it was incomplete. I'm not stupid I know this is a series however I mean the relationship with these particular characters feels incomplete I just think the author could have made it better. Again what can you really expect from a story about and Alpha male Mafia man? So 2 stars for me not totally hating it.
I really liked this start. We have college student Abby who falls in love very quickly with a man she doesn't really know. Luka is part of the Rinaldi crime organization. As a rule, he is the peacemaker, but something happens and he takes matters into his own hands. Unfortunately, Abby is a witness to those matters and she flees. Eventually she is brought back and other things happen. The only reason for 4 stars was that I needed more. It went fast and I wanted to see more between the characters. Will be reading the next book for sure.
I received an ARC for a honest review. This story was about the second of the three Renaldi Triplets. Luka was the more civilized, less violent of the Renaldi trio. To say he lost his s**t when Abby was threatened by a crooked FBI agent was the understatement of the year. Unfortunately for Luka, Abby was a horrified witness to his wrath, running away for fear of her life and the life of her unborn baby. Excellent story! One triplet left!
Really enjoyed this book. Storyline comes full circle, leaving the reader happy to have taken the time with a fast paced and entertaining read. I admit that I only gave the first book two stars because I felt the character development was lacking and story unfolded in a choppy fashion, I'm glad I gave Ms. Tunstall another chance. This book sold me on the next one in the series.
Abby is a college student in love with Luka. He is a mob boss and she has just found out she is pregnant. She sees him kill a man and runs because she is scared to death. After being on the run for a year and having her baby on her own Luka finds her by accident. He takes her and the baby home. Will these two ever be able to put the past behind them? Read and find out. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Abby is in love with Luka but can't figure what's holding them back after six months. She has a secret to tell him but ends up finding he has a bigger one. Abby finds herself in a similar situation as Luka previously was and now she understands how someone can find themselves doing anything to protect their family.
I mostly love these books because they're short little love stories, I can read it in one afternoon and have a smile on my face for the rest of the day. I love those silly triplets even when they do some dumb shit like not realize they're in love.
