When the cash-strapped Reynolds, owners of the Z-Hunt paintball range, are approached by a brilliant yet unscrupulous scientist looking to turn their business into a real life zombie apocalypse, it seems like an offer they can't refuse.
I mean, what could possibly go wrong in a world where zombies are biologically engineered for exotic hunts?
Answer: Everything.
Z-HUNT is a fast-paced shoot-em up by the bestselling author of the ZOMBIE FALLOUT series.
In South Africa, Dr. Zinzer has been purposely experimenting with a virus that can cause zombiism (my word).
He has approached Jan and Dietrich for their help in using their property to build a park where zombie killing lovers can kill all the zombies that they can afford to kill.
Since people around the world are against their desire to profit from killing “sick people,” Zinzer, Jan, Dietrich and their zombie guide, Zurgeon, have to pay a lot of bribes to stay in business.
Unfortunately, the more negative publicity they receive, the more rich people want to sign up for a zombie safari.
With profits adding up, and with that, unwanted publicity, Zurgeon must make sure that the zombie safaris are a success. Whatever the cost.
Got to love this series of books. One a month for 12 montjhs and only $0.99 apiece. Nice quick Zombie reads that you can read in between books. An excellent group of authors that know how to write a zombie story. What more could you ask for.
This is a fantastic novella! The concept of a hunting zombies for sport. What can go wrong. Indeed. The characters are awesome. Things move along quickly and wrap up with a bit of a struggle.
Z-Hunt is a great addition to David Moody's Year of the Zombie series. As always Mark Tufo gives us a great story. This story lacks the humor present in the Zombie Fallout series but that does not diminish the enjoyment I had reading this. I could definitely envision this as a fun movie or TV show. The pace is great. The story moves along at a fast pace throughout. There is a good amount of gore and Zombie mayhem. The ending is very good and I could definitely see the possibility for a sequel. I really loved this story and highly recommend it.
The Year Of The Zombie series continues with a contribution from the legendary Mark Tufo. He does not disappoint. The author introduces a fantastically original story, which i simply couldn't put down.
I loved this! Mark Tufo should spin this into a full length novel. The characters need to be fleshed out. The idea of hunting zombies in this way is fantastic.
The fourth installment in the Year of the Zombie is a fitting addition to the series. For the month of April, Infected Books has recruited Mark Tufo, a prolific zombie author from the other side of the pond.
I have to give full creative credit to the author on this one, putting together a mad scientist with a paintball range and creating a high priced, exotic, real life zombie hunt. Where do these guys come up with these ideas?
Character development falls a little short in Z-Hunt, there is only so much you can do with a short story. I liked Tufo’s approach – there’s not enough time/pages to develop and evolve characters…I’ll create caricatures. The majority of the cast were simply one-dimensional figures, each one representing a portion of the population at large. Most of the characters represent some of the worst parts of our society – greedy, with very few moral principles.
Z-Hunt didn’t have the great humorous dialogue that I have seen from Mark Tufo in the past and that I was anticipating with this book. It was, however, refreshing to see a different style with Z-Hunt; it really showcased Mark Tufo’s range.
If you’ve been following the Year of the Zombie, I’m certain that Z-Hunt is already on your radar. If not, this is a great place to start and get a feel for the quality in this series.
Year of the Zombie returns with style in book 4 with Mark Tufo steeping up to the crease and hitting it for a six. As I have stated before I am loving this infected books series and especially how it is showcasing it's best authors.
Mark Tufo delivers his usual standard of excellence in this bit sized novella. He takes the well trodden Zombie path and adds a very nice twist to the story. Instead of big game hunting a group of money hungry opportunist deliver the ultimate hunting experience...Zombies. What could go wrong? Lots is the answer otherwise this would have been a rather dull read.
This is the best in the series so far and I look forward to book number 5 in the series. Infected books is onto a real winner here and what a great way to celebrate 15 years in the business.
An interesting idea involved in this short story from Mark Tufo. Being short it doesn't get into the characters, though they are quite interesting anyway. The story works well and the ending is a bit of a shocker.
Hello, pretty bland for Tufo. If his name wasn't on it, I would never have linked him to this story. It didn't have that Tufo spice like his stories have. Thanks.
What ever Mark Tufo writes ,you just know it's going to be awesome. He's got a knack for reeling you in and getting you hooked. It's like drugs, once you try one your addicted. This is a great read, I really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next one!!
As is Mark's style there is no BS in this short story, just good old Zombie killing and human greed. It's a quick read and leaves you looking for the next chapter. I enjoyed it as I enjoy all of Mark's work.
Originally stumbled upon this one by looking for more free mark tufo reads (was already one of my favorite dead head writers, not to mention all of his other incredible writings, of which I've only just scratched the surface). Very glad to of found it, this story sets a great stage, I just wish it were longer. I'm gonna start from book one I'm the 'year of the zombie' series and hopefully I'll find the other series authors just as captivating.
