Dixie Cupp Diner Mystery #2

Peppermint Breath & An Untimely Death

Rate this book
Who would murder the mailman?

Starla Cupp needs to win the Winter Festival Cupcake Contest, if only to wipe the smirk off Tiffany Sample’s face. The problem is that she doesn’t know a dang thing about decorating cupcakes and she has no time to learn.

Of course, none of that matters so much when she finds her mailman dead in the park during the worst winter storm of the season. Kindly old Mr. Nettle has been murdered, and nobody can figure out why. The state police are called in to investigate, which brings handsome, home-grown Tucker Ashe to town.

Tucker is the last person Starla expected to see again – not that she’s complaining. With that much testosterone floating around things can only get more complicated, especially when Starla gets involved in the investigation that might just get her killed, too.

Dixie Cupp Diner is a Kindle ebook murder mystery series with plenty of mayhem, recipes, and a touch of sweet romance.

Peppermint Breath & Untimely Death is just as good as the 1st book in the Dixie Cupp Diner Mystery series.
It is a great mystery with twists and turns and some really nice investigation on the way to reveal the killer. The setting in the diner is perfect and the characters are wonderful described. It makes me want to come back for a visit with Dixie and her friends. – I just hope it is not the last one in the series….

Another great book in the Dixie Cupp Diner series, featuring co-owners Starla and Poppy trying to find out who murdered an old friend. To their surprise a friend they grew up with, who they haven’t seen in more than a decade, shows up in town assigned to investigate the murder. This is a wonderful book with several twists and turns.

I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited.

Three and a half stars

Starla and her bestie, Poppy, are back for more baking and mayhem. There's a surprising victim, unlikeable heir, two potential love triangles, and yet another baking contest to provide plenty of distraction for this tiny Southern town. The secrecy which leads to the murder is inane, and the "mean girls" trio is pretty pathetic (just how old ARE these so-called women, anyway?). This is a cute but simple read that did improve on the first story in the series.

Fun mystery!

This book was fun, though all the talk about cupcakes makes me hungry!! Starla is upset when the mailman is murdered, so she and Poppy have to investigate. Starks also has her hands full with two possible suitors!

Another fun

Nice and short with a good twist. The peppermint cupcake recipe looks delicious can't wait to give it a try.

Great read

I really enjoyed this, and, once again, I didn't guess who the bad guy was, not even right before the "big reveal" . 😀

Something evil has found Starla's little town - the beloved mailman Mr. Nettle has been shot and left in a snow-covered park where Starla and Poppy discover him on their daily walk. So many questions - why was he in the park in a storm and who was the mysterious ski-masked man they pass on the walking path? With the lack of an experienced police department (if you read book #1 you will know why!), Starla sets out to investigate. Assistance arrives in the form of former hometown boy and high school boyfriend, Tucker Ashe, now a state police investigator. In the midst of all of this, Starla wants to bring home a winning ribbon in the baking contact at the Winter Festival. Can she do it all?

For me, this was a quick, enjoyable cozy read, but not as good as the first only because it had such a great twist!
