They have never met but their destiny is linked by blood. They are living very different lives. He is in the jungles of Vietnam which gets covered in blood she lives thousands of miles away. They will be linked by a journal. Can it give them some insight to the other? Follow them to see how they get on

Beautifully Written
Susan Haught has the ability to turn words on a page into emotions felt by the reader. I was deeply touched reading each page. “Didn’t I love you right?” brought the big tears falling. ‘In the Shadow of Fate’ will stay with me for a long, long time.

Wow!! Loved this, even tho it was a very short story. It expands more of the love stories in "A Promise of Fireflies". Just like that first book, this one hit close to home for me, in a good way, Susan. Keep the heartwarming stories coming, will ya? I highly recommend em all.

I don't usually read books with poetry... This one is my new FAVORITE book! I loved the way they were written; so much emotion..so much love 💘. I actually cried through a lot of the verses! Saved til forever 💖

This is a very good book about life, love, loss and commitment. You need to read “A Promise of Fireflies” as well.

In the Shadow of Fate: A Promise of Fireflies Companion by Susan Haught is beautiful book of love, loss and a deeper meaning of life. It is a book that must be read after reading the Whisper of the Pines Series. It will make help you to understand where this book is coming from. I loved this heartfelt book. It tugged on my heartstrings, an awesome companion to the series.
