There was an explosion, and he won’t wake up. It’s the phone call the any Titan wife dreads, and the one that brings Nicola Garrison to her knees in tears.
Crying and praying for Cash to wake up, she has one secret to tell him -- and now it might be too late... “I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a daddy.”
Practising the words a million times didn’t matter if he wasn’t coming home.
In her rush to save him, she lets down her guard. One slip. One tiny mistake. That is all it takes to let years of protecting her identity to fall apart. Her time in witness protection -- then at the CIA -- is called into question by someone who has the power to end her life -- and the baby she’s carrying.
As the game of shadows and spooks, mobsters and goons, comes back to hunt Nicola, survival takes on new meaning -- protecting her baby, her husband, and her life -- forcing her to make a choice that would kill her anyway in the end.

The Titan crew knows their jobs, but accidents happen and, lately, they happen to Cash. After his second on the job brain injury Cash and his wife, Nicola head to a tropical island to relax and recover. Nic is pregnant so they are also dealing with the impending birth of their first child. Add to that the fact that Nic's witness protection past is about to catch up with her. This is a novella, so it doesn't include as many details of all the action packed escapades, but it does showcase the trust and communication Cash & Nic are constantly working to maintain in their marriage I found their relationship and love the core of this story. It's funny, sexy and shows a mature relationship between two people learning to be there for each other Really loved seeing them work so well together.
I love surprises and when it’s one from Cristin Harber I know it’s going to be ah-may-zing …. And it totally was. Cash and Nicola are my favourite couple in the Titan series, I fell in love with them in Garrisons Creed so when Sweet Girl was released I was all over that. Loved that one too. But Sweet One!! Now this one I really love hard.
Once again, CH had me from word one, I was ready to hunt her down if she did anything to my Cash!! Instead we got a glimpse of Cash and Nic after marriage, seeing how when Nic needed to step up for Cash, she did. I loved seeing her vulnerability too, who woulda thunk Nicola could get hormonal and emotional lol.
I was in Titan nirvana with glimpses at some of the couples, and not once whilst reading this treat did it feel rushed. THIS right here is how you do a novella, and hit it out of the park. It’s going on my favourites list, this must be the first novella to make it on there. I bloody LOVED it.
Loved it! Another great addition to the Titan series. Great seeing the team again. Nice little teaser for Beth and Roman's book which I want now. I wish the ending had been Nic opening the present that Cash bought.
Leave it to Cash and Nicola (MCs from Garrison’s Creed) to come back in the spotlight and steal my heart all over again! I’m completely emo for them! I am glad I read this novella right after Hart Attack because it picks up immediately after those events (instead of reading in publishing order after Black Dawn)
rating: ★★★★★ released: 28 March 2016 genre: romantic suspense pov: third person omniscient MC: Cash + Nicola ♡ audio narrated by Jeffrey Kafer
This time, I have a much deeper appreciation for this story, and fell in love all the more with Cash and Nic. It fed everything I was needing and gave everything required.
There's something special about this couple and a little catch-up novella like this is the perfect little piece of story that, thankfully, we get to enjoy.
++++++++++ 2016 review
"You kiss like a god." "I love you."
Swoons!!
Cristin Harber and her super secret projects! This one is another perfect surprise she dropped on her Titan fans. You can tell the depth of love she has for Cash and Nic as she just can't quite let them go!
Absolutely enjoyed getting to go back a bit in Titan time (this book chronically starts right at the end of Hart Attack) and getting to see some events through Cash and Nic's eyes as well as experiencing married life with them! The short story starts with a bang and delivers all the feels - I was crying by page 2 (oye!) and shortly after giggling, awe'ing, swooning, and growling - everything you come to expect and love from a Titan book.
While part of the conflict seemed to be a bit too easily solved (or maybe that was me missing seeing a bit more of the Titan action/adventure), it flowed well with the story and kept the focus where it needed to be - on Cash and Nic. I have a feeling a few more surprises are in store for us, because while a lot of loose ends were tied up, not quite all of them have a pretty bow on them yet. (guessing the next Titan novel - or who knows, another surprise project?) will answer these. :)
Definitely not a story to miss if you're a fan of Cash and Nic in their stories (Sweet Girl, Garrison's Creed) or Titan in general.
I enjoyed reading this book. You got a glimpse of it in one of the other books in the series but this novella really lets you see what happened and what was going on in these characters minds. Very cute short read.
This short read picks up at the end of book 8. So read in order! Continuation of Cash and Nicola’s love story and her involvement with the witness protection as the mob. I loved Cash and Nicola so it’s nice to see more about them!
Surprise! That's what Cristin told her fans when she released this book. What an incredible little surprise this was too. This is a continuation of Cash and Nicola's story, the couple to get now two novella's and a full story. It is a true Titan story, full of romance, love, incredible protectiveness, and some "bad-assery" from the boys we love so well.
This story ended too soon! That's the downfall to novella's but I savored every word as I read the new release. Cash is my absolute favorite of the Titan and Delta team combined so I was just a little excited to get my hands on this release! I have extremely high expectations from Cristin as she has released nothing but perfectness in each story she has written, and my expectations were met and then some.
This story starts out with a tense moment. It will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat, will gave you pulling at your finger nails, and may leave you gripping your kindle or book a little hard. Of course, you do get to breathe and relax as you work your way into the story. It will likely give you goosebumps in areas as it did me. It will leave you feeling swoony and may even get you weird looks when you end the story with a very audible "Awe".
Do I recommend this book? Absolutely! I recommend every single story written by this incredible author and woman. She is an absolute gem and one author I am truly excited to share with you!
This is a sweet little novella that fits in perfectly with Sweet Girl and Garrison's Creed progressing Cash and Nicola's story further. We get some drama, danger, emotional turmoil, and definite sweet and sexy stuff in this one. It was a quick and comfy read featuring one of my fave couples and many of the other men and women I have become attached to from the Titan series. What a nice surprise release!
Cash and Nic are my favorite couple, so I was beyond thrilled to see this book today. It is a perfect complement to the series and gives readers more of the sexy cowboy and the gorgeous spy he loves. Thank you Cristin for this.
5 Stars I absolutely loved this little novella, it was a great catch up with Cash and Nicola to see how married life is treating them. I love these two and I think they might just be my favourite Titan couple.
This Titan novella doesn't disappoint. Cash and Nicola are having a baby, but will Cash recover from his TBI? Will Nic finally be able to live out from under the fear of a mob hit?
A smoking hot Titan novella that I highly recommend to fans of the genre.
Once again, Cristin Harber brings it! Cash and Nicola`s story has has been one of my favorites and this is a great continuation of their journey. This super secret project was such an unexpected but totally amazing surprise!
I purchased this in a box set. But I'm reviewing it as an individual story. I gave it only three stars because I had been waiting for cache in Nicolas additional story, since there were things that still needed to be addressed with the couple and things that readers wanted to know. Unfortunately, the book was too short and it's still left, in my opinion, the reader unsatisfied completely at the end. It felt rushed at the end and still things that we should have been able to witness fully and not just assume. Throughout the plot of this story there was extreme heartache, sadness and a continued realization of the firm love cash and Nicola had for each other which is what kept me reading. As I said above, the last quarter of the story was completely rushed and could have plugged so many holes for readers but unfortunately it did not.
This was a sweet novella that had the potential to be so much better. First the pregnancy timeline and milestones were all inconsistent. Fetus was a blueberry and her stomach was flat but the baby was kicking where an outsider could feel it and Cash loves her with her bulging belly. As someone who has had a baby, these different times.
Also it was a good opportunity to have Cash and Nic address that they cant do this job forever. Yet with Cash being limited by actual brain damage, they barely listen to medical reason and jump back into action. It's never discussed when this job may not be feasible anymore.
This outing starts with \ Nic’s overlapping POV of a scene toward the end of Hart Attack then easily blends into Cash jumping into warrior mode while on a recuperative vacation when Nic’s past resurfaces and they have to protect themselves and their future.
To this reader’s taste, this outing feeds completists and fans of star couple, Cash/Nic, more than advancing the series. Rating: 3.75stars
This book needs to be read after Heart Attack and prior to Black Dawn, which is the correct reading order listed in the books. However, on Amazon, this book is listed as #9 (after Black Dawn) instead of #7.5. I believe that the rest of the series is listed in the correct order. This was an exciting, intense, and beautiful story. There were tragedies, angsty alpha males, hormonal women, humor, and the sweetest surprise at the end! It's definitely a must read book! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
A sweet checking in with one of my favorite Titan couples. I think the blurb is misleading though bc I don’t see how being in her husbands hospital room was dropping her training? Maybe by not mentioning it but even then that was a weird coincidence and horrible person! Cash’s use of Sweet thing and sweet one is precious and I loved seeing Jarod and Sugar in the supportive roles and family roles they had in this story!
Love Cash and Nicola coming together in wedded bliss and impending parenthood. Funny, sexy, yet with p!enty of action this novella is not the most detailed, but the core of the story between Cash & Nic learning to successfully be together is captivating and loving.
This helped fill in the blanks on how Nic and Cash got the cloud hanging over her head to disappear. The fact that they got a beautiful little sweet one at the end of the story was just that much better. Like the fact that Cash didn’t fall apart and was by Nic’s side through the whole delivery. We all don’t get to be that lucky.
Quick short story about Cash's traumatic experience. This is meant to be read after Hart Attack and is an expansion into Nicola's Pregnancy. As with all of the Titan team's experiences, there us always an element of danger and bad guys to wrangle with. Another good storytelling by Jeffrey Kafer.
I read this book after reading BlackDawn even based solely on the original release date. After I started reading it I wished that I would have read it just as the author had placed it in the second box set. Oh well, it still turned out AMAZING!! Especially with the outcome for Nicola.
NOt a fan of the novellas. Plus the beginning scene was a total turn off. Very inconsistent timeline. The pregnancy was a big giant secret... but Parker asked her about it and she answered like he knew. And then when Roman said he knew she lost her mind....
Awesome storyline. Cash just about bit the bullet this time. TBI is a dangerous thing. TITAN doesn't need Cash with a scrambled brain, so he gets to go spend time at the beach with his wife. That is until the Mafia comes looking for said wife.
