Jenna James is a woman with a lot of secrets... secrets that have scarred her deeply--mind, body, and soul. Believing that her secrets are safely packed away on a tiny flash drive she carries in her purse and that her clothing hides her scars, the beautiful young redhead finds herself in the tiny, isolated ranching town of Sparx, Montana - the home town of the mother she never knew. Everyone she meets there seems to welcome her with open arms, but it seems that Sparx has secrets of its own. Why is everyone so eager for her to stay in town? Why is Sparx so clean, so prosperous, and so... orderly? Why do the people stare at her wherever she goes? Why does a part of her want so badly to become a part of the odd little community? And, most of all, why do there seem to be so many men and so few women?
Then, there’s the issue of the not-quite-identical Howard twins, Dillon and Cole. They’re tall. They’re tanned. They’re toned. They’re drop dead gorgeous. They’re single. They’re the owners of one of the biggest ranches in the area. And, surprisingly, they ignite feelings of desire and passion in Jenna that she’s never felt before. That’s they ignite. Inexplicably, and having never felt anything like this before, Jenna finds herself wanting--aching--to be with the Howard twins. Both of them. Sexually. At the same time. What’s more, even more surprisingly, there are hints that Dillon and Cole like to share. They like to share everything.
As Jenna gropes toward exploring her strange, new feelings with the Howard twins, she suddenly finds herself the target of a mysterious assassin, apparently bent on killing her. Is this a long-buried secret returned from her hidden past bent on exacting revenge for deeds unspoken or some new dagger in the back concealed by Sparx’s open and welcoming arms? Will Jenna find a way to climb to breathless pinnacles of passion with the Howard twins? What is Jenna hiding from the people of Sparx and vice versa? Who is the hidden assassin and why is Jenna the killer’s target? Will Dillon and Cole Howard become Jenna’s Cowboys?
Jenna’s Cowboys marks a new direction for Laura Jo Phillips - love, romance, passion, and erotic ecstasy set on our own world in the present day. Yet, her fans will recognize Laura Jo’s familiar touch: a sympathetic and yet unique heroine who doesn’t come from a romance novel cookie cutter, well-drawn and engaging supporting characters, a fascinating setting with its own story to tell, and let’s not forget mouth-wateringly sexy and blood-stirringly manly heroes. Plural.
Jenna’s Cowboys is a full-length, 142,000 word novel with the immersive story, real-to-life characters, love, passion, and excitement people expect in a Laura Jo Phillips book - that calls her fans and new readers to lose themselves in a new world: a cozy corner of planet Earth.
Laura Jo Phillips is the Amazon best selling author of the genre-busting "Soul-Linked Saga" series of Fantasy/Romance/Adult/Science Fiction novels, and of the "Orbs of Rathira" trilogy, the the first volume of which was released in August 2012.
Discovered this gem by chance, if you loved your menages you need to read this book ASAP !!!!!! Definitely ranks high on my list with a beautiful heartwarming story
Jenna's Cowboys is an engaging western spin in a town of unusual relationships. Scarce on women, Sparx is a haven for menage and polyamorous relationships. Jenna James is a young woman with a tragic past searching for a new home. She stops in Sparx because her deceased mother was born in the tiny town. Once there for a visit, it's soon clear that Jenna has found a new home, as well as catching the attention of every single man in the area. Eventually she starts a relationship with the Howard twins, Dillon and Cole.
This book is quite a ride. Plenty of emotional turmoil, danger, suspense, hurt, hope, and love. The characters are all well developed and flawed. Their love is true, but doesn't come easy. The twins were fantastic with one big exception, the townspeople are wonderful, and Jenna is amazing. I loved her father's quotes.
It's somewhat predictable, but an enjoyable book for any menage loving reader nonetheless!
I started this last night and got so into it I forgot to add it as currently reading! I stayed up until 2:30AM reading and really made getting up for work this morning rough! Worth it, though.
I loved this. It had some elements I don't normally like, but that wasn't the case here. I loved Jenna and I loved Sparx. It was an emotional read, for sure. I haven't looked yet, but I really hope this author has more stuff.
I have one criticism, thus the 1/2 star deduction, but it isn't really a complaint, because it didn't impact my enjoyment at all. This is a reverse harem, but I tend to prefer when each guy is more of an individual. I've read a few recently where it's like they just cloned or split one guy, so there's more people, but that's it. It has bothered me in other books, but in this one I just wistfully would have liked to have seen more with them. Toward the end, they made it clear one was a little pushier and stubborn, but mostly I didn't even care which one was speaking at a given time. They were interchangeable. But, again, still loved it.
Also, the steam was great, but not overdone or too frequent, which I appreciated.
The cover isn't grand and the dialogue is a bit odd and choppy but the base of the story has heart and soul. Enough so that I could see this being turned into a series based on the citizens of the town. There is enough background that you get a feel for the characters without being overwhelmed but enough left out to keep you waiting for the reveal. As previously stated, the dialogue starts choppy, but bear with it. It gets better. Of course, there is a sweet and sappy HEA but due to Jenna's legitimate trust issues she makes the guys work for it. Which she absolutely should, considering how quickly they jumped to erroneous conclusions. And for those that aren't into 'cowboy romances' (like me) no worries, because they don't focus on the day to day running of the ranch. I have this one a chance due to a mention on a group page and I'm glad I did. And now that I've met some of the characters I'd like to see a bit more come of this. She's laid the groundwork for it already, too.
This book is for any menagerie romance book lover! The story is full of love, fear, acceptance, romance and devotion! I think Laura Jo Phillips is an amazing author. She wrote so well I felt like I was watching a mental movie. I was in the moment and felt the story come Alive.
Jenna's past broke my heart. This story was a wonderful first glimpse at a great small town! I hope to visit again soon!!
This is a good book. I really like the story and the characters. Unfortunately for me kinda figured out who the villain was almost immediately. Keep up the good work.
This book was one cute, sexy, suspenseful, loving book. I thought this book was going to be another threesome cowboy romance, but it was so much more. The sex was such a small part but is what started it all. Every other moment, I was holding my breath waiting for shattered glass or explosions. This book was really about finding love, forgiveness, and family. Jenna James is someone I would love to know. She is such a fighter and a survivor refusing to let anyone stand in her way. I don't quite understand her neighbors from her past, but you hear about people standing around all the time refusing to help in a crises all the time. Maybe it's because I'm from the South, but that wouldn't fly down here. Anyway, this is a must read and one of my favorites of 2016.
How much can a little lady go through? Well tons from this story. It so heart wrenching, it will make you cry, smile, laugh and get down right angry. More than well worth reading. Good one.
I absolutely loved this book from the beginning! Full of secrets, danger, romance, and sweet love this book, for me, is the full package.
It is well written, great plot, and was an absolute joy to read and I will definitely be reading more by this writer, she is truly talented and a great storyteller who draws you fully into the story
