Serial dater Liv Lester thought accidentally running into her date from hell was as bad as her day could get. As it turns out, there are worse things. Not only is her company getting sued, but the only person able to clear its name has disappeared without a trace.
A brilliant lawyer on the fast track to becoming a senior partner, Dax Morgan follows strict rules that don't include crazy women who pretend to be his girlfriend. His latest case was supposed to be easy. Get in, sue, get out. He certainly didn't plan on meeting Liv, who throws color into his black and white world and makes him question his loyalties.
After chance encounters, misunderstandings, and a trailer load of sticky notes, the two grudgingly team up and find out they might not be as different as they first thought.
A lawsuit, a devious ex, revenge plots, bad blind dates, missed connections, evil neighbours, hot lawyers, quirky heroines, dotty mothers, fabulous friends, tiny dogs and sweet, sweet romance resulted in a comedy of errors with a sense of sophistication. Sticky Notes is the brilliant debut of an author I will definitely be keeping my eye on.
Liv Lester is my spirit animal. Her bad luck with men is only rivalled by her propensity to land herself in the most ridiculous situations possible but she still doesn’t take life lying down. When her neighbour becomes more than just a little annoying she tried to be nice, she really did, but somehow she ended up waist deep in balls clutching a little dog that may or may not have been put together in a lab from scrap parts. And that isn’t even her only problem; her company is being sued and the lawyer for the opposition just so happens to be the guy she forced into pretending to be her boyfriend. Could life get any worse?
Dax Morgan has it all together. He lives by a strict code of black and white and he has enough going on without having to deal with a crazy woman trying to pull him into her insane world. But the more times fate throws them together, and the more times she brings color into his world (literally) – the more he is charmed by her. He likes this quirky spitfire. A lot. Now he only needs to convince her of that fact.
This book is filled with all of the good feels! From one situation to the other and all the weird and wonderful secondary characters this book was utterly hilarious. Not only was it laugh out loud funny but it also had a really interesting plot and so many happenings that I couldn’t put this book down. Add to that the fact that we have a swoon-worthy hero and a sassy heroine whose chemistry burned off the pages and Drea St James is sure to have a winner on her hands.
Definitely recommended!!

I read this blurb and I went like "I NEED TO READ THIS ONE" and as usual (or at least most of the times!) my instinct was right! *does the happy dance*
She’d practiced relentlessly and eventually gained the title of Supreme Grand Gumerino of the Universe after winning the Bubble Gum Bubble Blowing World Championship five years in a row, a feat unheard of until she came along. And she was only thirteen at the time—the youngest contestant to ever enter.
You know you have an interesting book in your hands, when your heroine works as a Gumlogist - aka someone who makes new flavors of Bubble Gum (I KNOW!) This is like the most "out of box" profession for a female heroine I have ever read!!
Now, Liv, is a serial dater, mostly because her parents are disappointed that she has chosen such a weird profession - but when she involves a stranger in her act to escape a date from heel, she opens up a can of worms that just refuse to closed again.
The man she unknowingly involves in her charade is not only the neighbor she is having "Sticky Notes" fights with, he is also the lawyer of the rival Bubble Gum Company suing them for patent!
While I can not write any more about the plot without giving away spoilers, I can tell you one thing - this is one hilarious book! You have the two protagonists who are attracted to each other in reality, but are fighting prank wars with each other as 10A and 10B!
I loved the writing style of the author in this book - told in double POV - it is not only a refreshing plot but it is also fun and hilarious to read (but most especially, imagine!). I LOVED both Liv and Dax's pranks on each other at one side, but adored their progressing relationship on the other.
This is a book that has a bit of everything, mostly fun, with romance but a dash of suspense and angst mixed in! And the only reason I haven't given it 5 Stars is because, the end came quite quickly and in almost a hurried fashion - and though it didn't really detract from the overall enjoyment, it still felt a little rushed.
But otherwise, for all those who LOVE chick-lit type writing and a light, fun romance to read, this is a great book to cozy up with!
“You covered my walls in acoustical foam.”
“You destroyed my front door.”
“You gave me a dog.”
“You painted my door pink.”
She cracked an unexpected smile. “So I did. One of my best works, if I may say so. If you manage to sue us into bankruptcy, at least I know I can always get a job as a painter.”
This is a very cute story. I loved Liv and Dax. Their sticky note feud really made the story. I even loved the dogs. Make sure you read between the lines on the sticky notes.

He was like a closed book with several locks and dead bolts, but boy, did he know how to kiss. His lips were still firmly imprinted on her mind, pushing her imagination into overdrive.
After reading the blurb of Sticky Notes I didn’t exactly know what to expect, but I liked the premise of communicating through sticky notes. The notes gave this tale about family and forgiveness an extra dimension I liked very much. It was my first Drea St. James book, but I know for sure that I’ll be jumping up and down the moment there’s going to be a sequel to this amazing story!
“Good, because I would never want to erase a moment we spent together. It doesn’t matter what happened.” Dax pulled her back. “I think I’m in love with you.”
Liv is a gumologist, which means coming up with new bubble gum flavors is her daily job. She is part of a loving family and has three brothers, who love her unconditionally. This shy, sarcastic woman is very prone to accidents. And that doesn’t come in handy when she meets the handsome Dax. Dax is a lawyer and all he ever thought he wanted was to become a senior partner at the law firm he’s working for. Now, he isn’t really sure that’s what he wants anymore. His family is fractured. The only person that’s left in Dax’s life is his mother, who is dealing with a couple of health issues and he wants to do everything he can to help her. He hasn’t spoken to his sister since his father died ten years go, because of a particular incident.
When Liv’s company is getting sued, she finds out Dax is one of the lawyers of the opposite party. Dax is the man she pretended was her boyfriend a couple days before at the supermarket to get rid of an awful date. All their encounters are literal disasters because of Liv’s awkwardness. She’s always in some comprising position or spilling wine on Dax. To make matters worse, they both have to deal with annoying neighbors when they get home. How will this end?
The air around them was charged, every touch making it harder for him to breathe.
Let me start with the things I didn’t like. There were some inconsistencies in the story that bugged me. I’m not going to name them, because it will spoil the story, but it happened multiple times. I also didn’t like that I had to wait so long for something real to happen between Liv and Dax. It resulted in a first half of the story that was sometimes dragging. It also seemed weird that when everything did happen, the feelings they had for each other were pretty serious in such a short time span. They didn’t have a lot of encounters and the time they did spend together was in the vicinity of others and not very long. So first, it went really slow and all of a sudden things went extremely fast. It was kind off unlikely.
Luckily, the sticky notes and the hilarious situations Liv found herself in time and time again made up for a lot. They kept me happy and satisfied. I seriously loved the role the notes played in this story. I also liked Liv and Dax’s families a lot. It was very cute and heartwarming to see how each of them interacted with their siblings and parents, especially how Dax handled his mother. He was so sweet and caring and I found it was one of his many positive characteristics. I’m also very curious to read about Ally and Becket to find out exactly what happened between them. They were both pretty good friends for Liv and Dax respectively.
She felt like home. She felt like his future.
Sticky Notes told a tale of family, forgiveness, sticking up for yourself, and unexpectedly finding love. It was hilariously funny and sugar sweet. I just couldn’t stop reading it, flying through the pages. I kept forgetting to highlight the quotes I liked, because I was so engorged in everything Liv and Dax. If you’re looking for a read that will keep you laughing all through the story, than you should really pick up Sticky Notes.
He wasn’t ever letting her go, of that he was sure.
Sticky Notes is the first novel by debut author Drea St. James and it did not disappoint! Not only does it start with a hilarious scenario in a supermarket...you get a very interesting meet-cute. This whole book will leaving you laughing at random moments, and if read in public...you make look a little crazy. From bubble gum flavor experimentation and lawsuits to annoyed neighbors and hand-written notes, the story will capture your attention till the end.
Thoughts:
PLOT LINE - Here's to another interesting twist of an enemies to lovers story! Opposites sides in a lawsuit. Neighbors who cannot stand the other's antics. This story has two different sides: work and home life. Liv Lester is a scientist who creates new bubble gum flavors. When a rival company sues for a copyright breach, her team is thrown into a lawsuit that can bring down their company. Dax Morgan is just an attorney on a ridiculous case about bubble gum. Annoyed with his client, he can't wait to get it done. But, when he comes face to face with Liv again...things just got a whole lot more interesting. They may be civil at work. However, as neighbors not so much...especially since they haven't figured out that they are in fact neighbors.
CHEMISTRY - Instant attraction. Meeting under multiple strange circumstances, the attraction drawing them together is magnetic. All the scenes where they are thrown together unexpectedly are adorable and funny. You can sense his hesitancy in making any moves but once their hands touch...he won't be able to let her go. When they eventually figure out that they are neighbors, there's change in chemistry intensity. Things do get a bit steamy. ;) But, it was a bit frustrating for how long it took Dax to finally put it all together that Liv lived next door. There were so many signs!
BECKETT AND ALLY - Dax's and Liv's best friends, respectively, make up the rest of this adorable group. Secondary characters are important because they help bring more fun to the table. They are each outgoing individuals who love to speak their mind. There is this fire brought out in scenes when they are included. Although they are hidden in the background of this story, you'll get a glimpse of their dynamic. I'm so excited to see what Drea St. James has up her sleeves for them in her second book in the series!

If you’ve read any of Drea St James’ other work, then you’ll know that this book is brilliant. She is a very talented writer and I don’t know where she gets her storylines from, but their perfect!
This is the second novel I’ve read by this author, the first I couldn’t put down, and then had to read it again – and this one was no different. I love the comedy with the post-it notes, and I love the cooky characters that St James comes up with.
I think what I loved most about this book is that it’s such a cosy read that you can really get into and enjoy – would highly recommend!
Sticky Notes is Book 1 in the Poetry For Beginners Series. I would give this book a 4 stars and highly recommend to others. This book has a little of everything, angst, romance, passion, and comedy. I laughed out loud multiple times while reading this story. Ahhh Dax what a sexy male specimen! He seriously was panting melting hot! The banter between the 2 main characters was so hilarious, and the side characters were quite entertaining as well. This is the first book I have read by this author but I look forward to much more in the future.
Liv has made a name for herself in the bubble gum business, she gets quite distraught when there is a lawsuit against her company by there biggest competitor. She is set out to prove them wrong because there is no way her main man at work would every steal and idea. When she finds herself running into the sexier than sin Dax she is stunned and instantly turned on... but when she finds out that he is the lawyer for the man suing her she finds the bottom of her dream falling out....
Dax is tired of the tediousness of his current life. He makes good money but he wants more out of his life, he just isn't sure what that is.. yet. When he takes on a case he finds himself in a whirlwind of lust with the competitor's client. His lust doesn't go away and it seems to get stronger and stronger the more he is around her....
Both have to deal with there feelings for one another... and there is a quite a twist in this story and when they both figure out what that is will they be able to resist on another???
Get to one clickin' you don't want to miss out on this book!
This is the debut book by Drea St James and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this great story. Drea St James has given us a sweet story that will suck you in from start to finish and will leave you wanting more from this author, this story has everything in it from angst .passion.romance ,and even some comedy. These two characters with have you laughing out loud from their hilarious child actions they have with each other, and the secondary character are also very entertaining as well. Sticky Notes is about neighbor's who just totally gets on each others nerves even before the meet each other yet. They have only corresponded with each other by leaving sticky notes on each others doors. " talk about crazy" Liv has made a name for herself in the bubble gum world and she seems to be quite beside herself when she's in a lawsuit that is against her company,by her biggest competitor . So she's out to prove to them all that their wrong, because in no way would her best man would steal only one else's ideas. But she soon finds herself running into into the hot and sexy neighbor Dax. But to her surprise he just happens to be the lawyer for the company that is suing her ,so her world is wrecked . Dax is tired of his exhausting life, and he wants more out of his life,he totally makes good money, but he just don't know what he really wants. But he soonfinds himself lusting for Liv. His lusting seems to go away ,but everyone he gets near her it just gets stronger .I could go on and tell you more about this sweet story ,but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this story, you won't be disappointed.
Dax and Liv are neighbors who "talk" only with sticky notes. That was weird, lol. Of course, I live in a house where most of the room-to-room communication (no yelling, please!) is done through texting so maybe it's not so weird.
But Dax and Liv know each other outside of their sticky-note-on-door correspondences. Dax is the lawyer heading the lawsuit against Liv's company. How 'bout that? They are enemies because of the lawsuit and less-than-friends-but-not-quite-enemies at home because they seem to annoy the crap out of one another. Yet, there's attraction there that builds and gains momentum the more time they spend together.
This was a fun romance filled with humor and balanced with work. Liv is one of a kind. She has a tendency to land in the weirdest situations ever but does so with more grace and flare than I probably ever could. Despite the black lawsuit cloud hanging over her pretty head, she still manages to radiate with sunshine and light and color. Dax... Well, he learns to appreciate and enjoy and bask in Liv's uniqueness. Why? Because she brings so much into his world. It was always about work, the next case, the next court date, the next client. But Liv shows him there's more to life than that.
This is a marvelous debut for Ms. St. James. I expected humor and I got it. I wanted romance and I got that too. I also got a reminder to live life to the fullest but to slow down while I do, to laugh and love and enjoy. *smiles* Hm, maybe I'll write that on a sticky note...
My first thoughts of reading Sticky Notes by Drea St. James was this is a fun and quirky story. I love the writing, the author’s writing style and the plot!!! I loved it all. I loved reading about Liv Lester and her noisy pesky neighbor and the quirky sticky notes they left each other. We also met her family, just a little bit but enough that I want to meet them more. We also met her BFF and she seems like a lot fun. I thought Dax was awesome, the hot lawyer who wants everything perfect in his perfect world. Meeting Liv was not on the list of perfect, or so he thought. We also got to meet Dax’s Mom, sister and his best friend. They are all just a fun group not sure if they think they are but from a reader’s point of view I can’t wait to read more. I really loved all the chemistry in this book, all the characters are awesome and everything made totally sense. All the misunderstandings and things not going right just makes this story even more fun. I would say this is a fun, quirky, romantic comedy with a little mystery and intrigue. It your looking for a fun entertaining read this book is it. I truly enjoyed reading every word in this book. Thanks to the Author and Indiesage PR for letting me read this fantastic book. I received a free copy of a book in exchange for an honest review
I absolutely adored this! Seriously, there are no other words to describe it! I absolutely, completely, totally adore this! It is just the absolute best thing ever! <3
I love the story, I love the characters and I love the way the relationship between the main characters evolves. It is pretty amazing to read! :)
My absolute favorite part of the book is the notes that are being passed around and the secret messages that they seem to carry. They're funny and cute and sarcastic and adorable all at the same time and I love the heck out of them. I wish someone would send me such notes at times. I love how their notes change as the story goes forward and you can see the shift in their relationship through the notes. The pranks are only an added bonus. Seriously, these two play the best pranks. We could learn a thing or hundred from them.
So, yeah, I absolutely love these people. They're great. Their story is amazing. It's a freaking shit must read because you are seriously losing out if you don't read this. A light hearted, fun read that leaves you with a smile on your face for hours and hours and that makes you feel good in all the right places at the right time in the right proportion. Yeah, this is a great story and I cannot wait till the next in the series is out! <3
Sticky Notes was a good light and funny romance read. This is the first book I've read from this author and I'm glad Amazon recommended it to me because I enjoyed it a lot. I really liked all of the characters in this story, especially Dax and Liv. I laughed out loud quite a few times while reading this book and I truly enjoyed the message inside the messages they left. If you read this book you'll know exactly what I mean. I couldn't wait to see what they would do to each other next. I was really looking for a book that was different because a lot of stories are starting to seem the same but this book was a good change and I can't wait to read Ally and Beckett's story. The only reason why this book wasn't a 5 star read for me was because there was quite a few typos within the story. However, if the author goes in and corrects the errors this would be a 5 star read and with that being said typos within the story doesn't really bother me but when its constantly happening it takes away from the story; well for me it does.
I loved this book. It was fun! The actual sticky notes - HILARIOUS! You just need to read between the lines.
Liv works in a bubblegum factory creating new flavors with her team. It's her dream job. Her parents aren't super keen on it nor the fact that she isn't a committed relationship. Liv is continually set up with no success. Add to that an annoying neighbor and the sticky war notes begin, as well as some pranks.
Then she meets Dax, a lawyer for their rival gum company, claiming that they stole a formula. Liv is attracted to him but won't make a move based on principal.
Eventually everything comes to a head: the sticky notes, the crazy neighbor, the lawsuit....
****ARC RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW**** SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELLING BOOK BLOG 4.5/5 I signed up for this tour, cause i am all for helping out new authors...and this first book by Drea St.James was awesome. so well done for a first time author. Sticky Notes is about two neighbours who are getting on each others nerves, they haven't met yet, and the only time they correspond is by leaving sticky notes on each others doors. This Story follows Liv Lester and her neighbour Dax Morgan in a hilarious romantic story. You definitely want to pick it up, you won't regret it. Well done Ms St.James i look forward to reading book 2
I've had this book sitting in my kindle for a few weeks now... WHY THE HELL DID I WAIT SO LONG?!?! Drea St. James completely captivated me, drawing me into her book! I read this book in one sitting as I couldn't wait to read more! Liv is absolutely brilliant, she is so frikkin clumsy it's honestly hilarious! Dax is sweet, manly, and HOT!!!! The notes left on the doors made me laugh out laugh... Seriously, you NEED to pick up this book and read it!! I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone so I'm going to leave it like this... Buy, read, review and LAUGH!!! - I know I will definitely be picking up this book to read again (and again and again)!!! #2OCCAB
The sticky notes are cute, and when not being irritatingly OTT, I liked most of the characters (not Ally and Beckett, will probably skip the second book). But the confusing setting of St. Louis (the story really could have been set just about anywhere relatively urban) and the frustratingly wrong law stuff (that forms the foundation of the plot) kept pulling me out of the story. Thumbs up for being fairly well-written overall, and for an Aussie author generally getting the US wording right. Give it a go if you like OTT "madcap hijinks."
