It was so captivating that I read it in one day. The author’s wonderful way of weaving the story made me feel like I have been visiting Xerxes along with Kelli & Jayden. My favorite part is the Xerxian Ritual Incense –“a symbol perhaps of prayer being a fragrant aroma to God” - that saturates one’s
clothes and skin and was seen as part of worship. And I loved the Xerxian response: “You do me honor”. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

This is the second book in a Christian sci-fi romance adventure series.

Loved the first book for its great characters, intriguing alien wilderness survival story, and tight pacing. Loved the second book for similar reasons: fun characters, a great alien landscape with world building without belaboring the details, and a gripping kidnap plot.

There were a few uneven places where I felt the female lead was saying things too a little too…juvenile? innocent? naive? … to be justified, given her experience as a hardened field agent.

My biggest criticism is of the end. It’s a happy one with the main quest technically wrapped up; however, due to the abrupt, open-ended nature of the end, I felt little emotional payoff for my journey.

I’m excited that there is a book 3 and I definitely will read it, but book 2 would have much better served with a proper ending.

Book 2

New couple, new planet, and new complications, but the core aspects keep Book 2 within the Sci-fi Christian Romance genre. Two days ago I didn't even know that Was a genre. Now, I've read 2 books in the series, found a new author and am hopeful the last book in this trilogy will not be the last of its kind.
Like book 1, this can be read as a stand-alone story or as a part of the trilogy. The primary couple from book 1 are side-characters. The next book appears to have a loose link to this couple. Neither are required reading to appreciate the story in full.
If the idea of a book in this genre is appealing, this should tick the boxes for you. The characters are interesting, the plot and pacing are well crafted, and the setting is unique.

XERXES factor

This book was a fast read, I said that because it was hard to put down. It kept me interested from the start to the end. This is part of a series, which don't have to read the first one but this book will be enjoyed more by reading the first one. The first book is very good too. Kelli is supposed to be guarding the daughter of Sean and Aric but Ella ends up getting kidnapped. Kelli makes it her mission to find her. I was given this book to read by the publisher for an honest opinion. I definitely recommend this book and all the books in the series, even if don't read this Genre you will love it.

This is Science Fiction at its best: captivating story, amazing world, interesting characters. As a bonus it comes with a Christian message that is not forced on the reader but is easily seen within the characters themselves. This is one of those rare books that I will want to read again.

Excellent read!

The Xeroxes Factor is an action-packed, Christian adventure with a surprise twist. I love that the romance in this series deeply resonates with God’s word. I enjoyed the excitement which includes other worlds populated with different cultures and species. I highly recommend it! Now, I have to get book 3, enjoy.

Just as good as book one

This is going to be short. I'm in a hurry to go download the next book. I really enjoyed this book A LOT. Again the action was believable, the sci-fi element was part of the world-building, and the underlying spiritual theme is subtly woven through the whole story. In this book, the Christian theme is a little more pronounced, but that makes sense as this is a continuation from the first book. I do wish the action was resolved a bit more at the end of the story. While not a cliffhanger in the traditional sense, you are left with a very strong feeling of "wait, what's going to happen to them now?"

Love this book! I would have finished it faster if life hadn't gotten so busy.

I loved the first book in the series, but this one was even better once I got over the fact that the POV characters aren't the same ones as featured in the first book. Sean and Aric are still around, but Kelli and Jayd are the main viewpoints here.

This book follows awesome, butt-kicking agent Kelli who has been in love with Sean and was assigned to watch his wife's daughter at his wedding reception. The girl is kidnapped and Kelli is blamed. Jayd, who is a great handsome butt-kicking hero, is forced to put his romantic feelings for Kelli aside and investigate her.

Since the Terran (Earth) Government doesn't seem to be doing much to find the girl, Kelli determines to find the girl herself, which could cost her life and definitely her freedom because someone wants Kelli to take the fall.

Much of the book takes place on a planet called Xerxes IX which has a neat matriarchal society--don't mess with those ladies. :-). I was sad when the book ended.

The end does leave some questions. Good thing the next one comes out in June.

Definitely check this out.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

This book succeeded in all ways the previous one failed. If I had to detail a layer model of genres, it would be 1- Police Action, 2- Romance, 3- Sci-fi. This was very refreshing after the last one, which was mostly romance. It had an interesting race of aliens, not too much romance, and a good action plot. Kelli was protecting Ella on her watch when Ella got kidnapped. When she is pointed out as the most likely suspect, she must disguise herself as a Xerxian and follow a trail of clues to Xerxes IX. Like I said before, this book is way better than the first one, The Paradise Protocol.
