From bestselling mystery author Stephanie Caffrey comes another killer adventure from Sin City's most unlikely detective...
Raven McShane, Las Vegas' sauciest private detective, is a lot of exotic dancer, shoe shopper, fad dieter, day drinker—just to name a few. But blackjack player? Not so much. And so when a new client asks her to infiltrate his card-counting ring to see who's skimming profits off the top, she's tasked with learning how to become a passable card player and fast! At first she's worried about being dragged heels-first out of the casinos, but soon enough she finds herself mixed up in a situation much bigger than just her client's little card-counting group. And the timing couldn't be worse, either, as it coincides with the increased romantic interest from a wealthy and powerful admirer. Can Raven solve a mystery, save herself, and ignite a new relationship all at once?
Raven McShane Diva Las Vegas (book #1) Vegas Stripped (book #2) Royal Flush (book #3) Double Down (book #4)
"A spectacular blend of hardboiled detective work and outrageously funny scenes. I can't imagine why anyone would want to miss out on a single book!" ~ Fresh Fiction "Reminded me of Evanovich and Parker..." ~ Chucktown Reader
"(DIVA LAS VEGAS) is possibly the best first book of any series I have read. I am always looking for new authors and series, and this one is a true masterpiece. I can hardly wait for the next book." ~ Mystery Lover
This was not my favorite book of the series. I didn't find the overall mystery interesting nor did I care what the result was.. I did like Raven's honesty, however. For example, I like how she's getting fat because she's got no self control with food, and I also like how she admits to falling in love with every guy she meets. I love self deprecating characters.
l enjoyed this book at the start but it took so many twists that by the end I wasn't sure why she was hired or even if the case was solved. I did liked Raven as a main character, she has grace under pressure or flying food, which lead to a number of humours situations. I loved her unusual job as a stripper, although the story focused on her life as private eye and the stripper side was more the people she knew and who could help her. The mystery was good but started one way but then went in a totally different direction and as I said was a bit confusing. We had a lot of blackjack information that just sort of fizzed out. It might just have been because this is my first time reading a Raven book and I didn't know what to expect. I think I would return but maybe start with book one. Raven is hired to find out why a card counting group is losing money. Is one of the members stealing? As a former stripper she will have to learn quickly the finer skills of blackjack if she is to go undercover with the group. A church seems an unlikely place for the group to meet but as they see themselves as Robin Hood, going up against the establishment it seems to fit. What doesn't fit is what she uncovers and when Raven becomes a victim she has more to worry about than getting kicked out of the casino. Can she get to the bottom of what is going on?
I had some trouble with this one, I am not good with numbers at all:-) But, the real thing that bothers me....what is with all this food~!!!!!! how tiresome is that!!! the story line is fine, the characters are great --- so why so much about food! Really, this story does not need it...if it's to make up for words you really don't need it!!! The whole story is great and the ending!!!! well, very well done!
This story really lacked conclusion🤔It haphazardly tries to tie events together in a vague summary out of left field. Why did Dan originally hire Raven? That is never resolved. Where do the unknown thugs come from? What was their reason for wanting to take action against Dan n his wife?
While juggling jobs, men, clients, hopes, ambitions, & dreams, Raven decides she may want a new direction. Counting cards for blackjack provides a new client, exposure to both gambling & anti-gambling groups, & a new church. Which things will provide a new direction & which will lead to danger? Vegas expert & author Stephanie Caffrey shows the seedier side of Vegas through stripper Raven McShane's eyes as she makes discoveries about her cases, her career, & her men. You don't want to miss #4 in the Raven McShane Mysteries (or Alex or Carlos). I have only read this one book in this series, and I think I'll back up and read the others as I'm becoming a fan of Raven McShane. I received an ecopy for review.

Great Book! This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Raven McShane Mystery series by Stephanie Caffrey. Raven McShane is a private detective, when her client asks her to infiltrate his card counting ring to see who’d skimming profits she needs to learn how to play. The more she digs into the case the deeper she gets to bigger issues than just counting cards. If you are looking for a great cozy mystery that will keep you up way past your bed time, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Another wonderful Raven McShane novel. Raven is a private investigator by day and a stripper by night. She is hoping to be able to quit her night time job soon. First, she has to make good money in her day job. She is hired by a man who, along with other members of his church, are card-counting gamblers. He feels someone within the group is stealing money from the others. Poor Raven finds trouble at every turn. I am enjoying this series of books and I eagerly await the next one!

****I received this book in exchange for an honest review**** Let me start by saying that I do not generally like to start a series with any book that's not the first. This was the first book in this series that I read and it was really good. The author did a good job of writing it to the degree that I didn't feel lost or like I missed something by not having read the first 3 books in the series. That being said, I think I'll go back and read the first 3. The main character seems to live a very interesting life and I'd love to learn more about how she got where she is.
Loved it a great mystery as always and I love reading how Ravens mind works things out lol she really has a unique view of the world. It was good to see her look at the men in her life and I really love that she is giving things a go with Alex he seems nice I just hope his soon to be ex-wife leaves them alone. I really hope Raven gives up the stripping soon I would love to see her blossom as a full-time PI and now she has Alex splitting herself between 2 jobs and a gorgeous man will be a juggling act.
I love this series!!! If you are new to it, you don't have to read them in order because the author does a good job explaining anything you might need to know, however, I do recommend that you read them in order. Raven McShane is a great character! I enjoy her because she is like most women I know, especially the fad dieting. The mystery is excellent and really keeps you hooked. It is fast paced as well so you won't want to put it down! I can not wait to see what other hi-jinks she gets into!
**Received book from publisher in exchange for an honest review**
So poor Raven is so awkward at times that you just cringe for her. Other times, the things she gets involved in are interesting and keep you entertained. There is finally a love interest but her maturity in dealing with men is a little lacking and not normal for a middle thirty something woman. Hopefully, things will start looking up for Raven.
This is the fourth book in the Raven McShane series and it's great! Each book in the series is better than the last. It's witty, suspenseful, and laugh-out-loud funny. The mystery is well thought out and kept me guessing throughout. This is an enjoyable series and I look forward to reading what happens next!
