No one is good enough to deserve the beautiful Freya Cuevas of Alegria. She's witty, smart, and confident. Lahat halos sa buong campus ay hinahangaan siya. From the consecutive wins to topping her batch's classes. Lahat ng iyon, nangunguna siya. Kahit yata sa puso ng pinakahahangaang lalaki sa kanilang eskwelahan.

Her life is perfect. She can control anything and anyone. It's so easy! Kaya naman mabilis siyang na chachallenge sa isang bagay. She did everything perfectly for it. She played with it like it's just a funny game.

Pero nang isa-isa na nitong nakuha ang lahat ng noon ay sa kanya, napagtanto niyang nagkamali siya. She ruined her own titles. She destroyed her own name. She ripped her own heart.

"It's impossible to love someone without hurting anyone, Freya. That's too ideal..." - Fourth

Ripped is the typical playboy smart girl kind of romance which is cliché ever since in wattpad but out of all of the books I've read with that type of romance I must say that this story is the best one I've read so far.

It started off after Freya's pageant win. Her family visited Revamonte's mansion where Fourth and his siblings are all gathered. Both of them have lived different lives so the first impression was totally off.

"The stereotype I have for city boys isn't like this...They were better on TV." - Freya

Even if they started on the wrong side of the road they still managed to establish a good relationship with each other. They became friends and little by little their feelings bloomed that turned them to be in the courting stage.

Fourth and Freya's relationship is ideal but there isn't a perfect relationship. The courting stage brought them to deepen their feelings for each other and because of the strong love the have it most likely became their downfall.

Love...it is not flawed. It's the lover's who are flawed. It's the human being trying to love they're what's flawed. - Freya

Problems and struggles came in their way. Their love grew unhealthy and their trust is at risk but nonetheless Fourth never forget to give assurance to Freya. But the assurance he gives is not enough for her to guarantee that Leon's love will last.

Years of being apart, they also grew apart. The trust they built slowly faded. But the pain was still in there. And after years they finally met again. I really love how Fourth confronted her when they first met. He wanted answers that was deprived from him years ago. The reason for the lost connection and etc.

"You didn't love me the way I loved you. And it was okay with me!" - Fourth

Their growth was really good for them and their relationship. They both depend with each other too much which is really unhealthy. Freya learned to be selfish and be with Fourth whenever he needs her in the fight for their relationship. Fourth lessen his possessiveness and he tries to respect and understand Freya's decisions but he learned to create his own decisions not just because Freya told him to do so he will.

"You're the last girl I kissed...I have been so loyal and faithful to you..." - Fourth

Fourth's loyalty and faithfulness is over the moon that I'm hoping someday I'll have someone like him too. He's not a perfect lover but at least he brings joy and love for Freya even if he is cringy at times.

"Why'd you want that name? Leon is better! Fourth is-" - Freya
"It's an F like your name so don't ask why!" - Fourth

And to end this review here are some of the lines or quotes that I loved.

"February 12 of 2016 I have danced with the most beautiful girl I've ever known." - Fourth

"I got your point, Melfina. Your daughter never dreamed for my grandson. It's my grandson who dreamed for her..." - Don Pantaleon

"I can offer her the world. As she deserves it...my name and my heart..." - Leon

Super supportive Fourth!

"You're still the most brilliant girl I know even without your trophies and medals, Freya." - Leon

4.5 stars (almost gave it a 5!).
"I am every bad thing. But I'm true to my words."

Unang rason kung bakit ko binasa ang Alegria Girls Series (AGS) ay dahil sa hype sa third book. As much as I'm tempted to just skip books 1 and 2, spoilers from Ripped (galing sa JSLs group sa FB) intrigued me.
Pantaleon Revamonte IV, or plainly Fourth's name is enough to interest me. It reminded me of Martha Cecilia's Kristine Series, (from Don Leon to Lenny). Not sure if I've said it in any of my jonaxx reviews pero for me sa mga bagong author today, siya na talaga ang nakikita kong halos katulad ni Martha sa pagsusulat.

About the story, the beginning was okay for me. It was better than Whipped, and I like Freya's character, however, things started to get better during the middle part. I should've not been surprised kasi given the plot, alam ko na ang mararanasan ni Freya but then it didn't stop me from being sad sa mga nangyari sa kanya. Cliche man kung cliche but the two things (or rather people) that made the book stand out for me ay si Freya (her feistiness and maturity) and of course, Leon (everything about him, damn). These two naman talaga.

"I got your point, Melfina. Your daughter never dreamed for my grandson. It's my grandson who dreamed for her..."

Isa sa mga sobrang hinangaan ko talaga ay iyong part na pinaliwanag ni Freya kay Leon na the love that they have right now isn't healthy, na Leon's love for her is somewhat bordering on the obsessive (non-verbatim). Kitang-kita mo talaga yung maturity. Isa pa sa mga favorite part ko is yung pagsuyo na ni Leon after the time-skip. Halos 'di kayanin ng puso ko. Dahil sa story na 'to, isa na si Leon sa mga favorite jonaxx boys ko (along with Elijah and Logan).

But then again, my issue with every jonaxx story (or rather my dream story) ay sana mga more than five years or so ang time gap. I want to see mature jonaxx leads, para mas dama. And isa pa sa mga hiling ko, ay sana mas maraming detailed chapters, I know she usually writes stories with long chapters pero I want to see more (i.e. mas maraming interactions right after Leon and Freya's first meeting, mas maraming suyuan at selosan after the time skip, etc). But overall, I really really love Ripped. Ito pa ang rason sa pagkakaroon ko ng migraine (nagpuyat sa kababasa kahit na may work in a few hours time).

p.s. Out of all Jonaxx's male characters, I beliver Fourth has the most beautiful name :)

2023 re-read:
Fourth pa rin talaga 💚 loved my re-reading experience this time.

⭐ Actual Rating: 4.7/5 ⭐

The level of frustration I had reading this book! Ate J really knows how to hook her readers by awakening their emotions and empathizing with the characters.

Moreover, I love the principles of Freya Cuevas. It was deep and insightful and something that the readers can really reflect upon. Meanwhile, Fourth Revamonte is someone that really deserves all the admiration! Indeed, he is every bad thing but not a liar! The perseverance and dedication of this man!

Lastly, anybody, convince me to start Tripped as soon as possible! 😂 I really think I need to breathe for a while. Ripped has really ripped me! It feels like this series is a series of acceleration of mixed emotions and I am not yet ready for another one! 😭👀

Reading RIPPED by Jonaxx really hit me hard, in the best way. This story is so special because I saw myself in Freya Cuevas. Like her, I grew up used to being on top—having what I needed, winning competitions, being the “ideal” student. I thought if I worked hard enough, I could always stay that way. But this book showed me a reality I didn’t expect: no matter how much you try, you can’t always be the perfect version of yourself. Sometimes, life doesn’t go as planned, and that’s okay.

Freya’s journey taught me that it’s okay to be confused, to make mistakes, and to not always be the best. Her character made me reflect on myself deeply. I related to how she sent mixed signals, how sometimes she didn’t even know what she truly felt—because I’ve been like that, too.

The love story between Freya and Fourth was beautiful but painful. It showed how deep love can become when two people depend on each other too much. Fourth made Freya his entire world—he was willing to sacrifice everything just for her. It made me realize that love can be powerful, but it should also be balanced. You need to love yourself, too.

One of the biggest lessons I got from this book is about being in a relationship while studying. Yes, it’s possible—but it takes balance and maturity. Love isn’t supposed to distract you from your dreams; it’s supposed to help you grow.

I also learned a lot about loyalty. RIPPED reminded me that if someone truly loves you, they won’t cheat. They’ll stay, endure, and fight for the relationship. That line from Fourth really stayed with me:
“To love is to bear all things… To believe the uncertainties… To hope for the unknown… and to endure the pain. It was all because of her. She taught me how to love. And our relationship taught me how to love the right way.”

That hit deep. It made me realize that love isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it when it’s real.

Because of this book, “Photograph” by Ed Sheeran is now one of my favorite songs. Every time I hear it, I think of Freya and Fourth—it gives me that warm, aching feeling. It makes me believe in love again. It makes me want to fall in love, too, in the right way.

This book made me cry, reflect, and grow. It’s not just a love story—it’s a story about self-worth, letting go of the need to be perfect, and learning how to love in a real, mature way. I really saw myself in Freya—and I think that’s what makes RIPPED unforgettable.

I really love the author’s writing style, it’s hard to stop reading her stories one you start them and her characters were all so lovable!!! I also love the way she writes the friendship and family relationships in her books because they represent Filipino culture.
I was able to relate with Freya, especially with how much pressure she and her parents put on her when it comes to her studies. The way the author wrote Freya’s story about her struggles with school and grades were so relatable and accurate to me. I cried at the part where Freya lost the pageant because I know how hard it is to put yourself out there and do your very best tapos matatalo ka lang, and worst is natalo pa siya ni Anaya!!!
I super loved Leon, how patient and thoughtful he was towards Freya. I honestly love how devoted he was, he may have been a playboy but once Freya was in his life he did his best para mafeel ni Freya na he is very loyal to her.
The story of Freya and Leon was very angsty, these two went through so much, daming challenges and hadlang but I enjoyed reading all about it because I love how they conquered all of those, I love how they fought for each other until the very end. As usual, Jonaxx ending was very satisfying pero since I get very attached with her characters I am desperate for more after finishing this book!!!

Fourth and Freya <33

I feel like I’m stepping on a line when I call him Fourth because it’s only for Freya hahaha. Anyways, Fourth/Leon is just too good to be true. This guys is just so cool, I love his stubbornness and willingness to fight for Freya no matter what. And I love Freya, I’ve been crying for her so much because I guess I relate to her in more ways than one. I love love love this heroine. I’ll miss them both fr. Till we meet again Fourth and Freya :))

It's mature learning on life where it is showing the real world we're living at. Where it shows how hard it is for girls to put in this kind of situation.
