Anthony Jackson, military veteran, member of the Presidential security team, father, husband, patriot and spy. His daughter safely recovered from a government detention centre, Jackson's role as a spy for the anti government Apocolyte group is firmly cemented. All he needs to do is keep his head down, do his job, and get intel back to his rebel handler. But as Jackson's suspicions about President Meyers are proven true, and the tasks he's asked to handle become more and more immoral, his loyalties are becoming strained. Where is the line between truth and lie? Between loyal citizen and blind follower? Between right and wrong? And who gets to draw that line? The Apocolytes are growing stronger, but Meyers is too, and only one of them can be the bad guy. But which? Jackson needs to choose sides, and he needs to do it fast. But in the end only the biggest tragedy of them all can force his hand. His life will never be the same, his family will never survive, and his ideals can be shattered or overturned. Assassinations are all part of the job, he's always dealt in lies and secrets. But now there's something much more personal on the vengeance. Saving the world from terrorists is no big deal, knowing who the terrorists are is the real trick.

Reading progress update: I've read 100%. This one was better but a quicker read. I really felt bad for Mr. Jackson and what he went through in this book. The President was even worse in this book then the first one. A lot of things happened in this book for the length of this one compared to the first one. I really enjoyed the two children of Mr. Jackson, and what happened at the end of the last book, to one of them was just sad. But also what made Mr. Jackson finally open up his eyes on exactly who the President is. As well as what the President is trying to do to are country. So the ending was full of action and gives us the readers, some answers that we might have had. I would definitely recommend this series to my family and friends.
Fire War II picks up where Fire War left off. So there will be some spoilers in this review.
Anthony Jackson's daughter has been taken, and he is now tasked with being the go-to guy on the Presidential security team. He quickly finds himself in a position to help both the Apocolytes or the President. He must choose who he wants to help and how much he is willing to risk to help them.
The narration for Fire War II: Treason was done by Patrick Freeman, who narrated the first book. He does a wonderful job with this and makes the story just fly off of the pages and into your ears. I really found myself enjoying the story more because Freeman was narrating it. He did a great job.
The story was really good, part dystopian and part political thriller -- Fire War II really had me going throughout. It reminded me a bit of Fahrenheit 451 and 1984 (two books I absolutely love). There was a lot of sneaking around and doing what the government was trying to stop him from doing.
Anthony Jackson the character is believable. He's ex-military and a total BA, but he's able to have a heart and care for his family and children. When he broke down, I wanted to break down. He was written that well.
Overall, Fire War II: Treason was a really enjoyable read. If you read the first book and enjoyed it you will definitely want to check out the second one.
I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
The 2nd book in the series is a lot faster paced than the first book. It shows us just how deceitful President Meyers is and what his plans are for the UCSA. When Jackson agrees to spy for the Apocolytes against Meyers he discovers how completely misled he and the rest of the country have been. When a major terror strike happens that personally affects him he resolves once and for all to take Meyers down.
Genre: political dystopia Rating: 4 I listened to this book.
As I said for the first in the trilogy, it's the perfect time to be listening to this book because of the upcoming election. Great read. I'm bummed that the third is not an available through Audible.
Anthony Jackson works on President Meyer’s security team. But the increasingly shady jobs that he does has him questioning his president. He also finds himself spying for the Apocolyte group, an anti-government group that is working on taking President Meyer out. He just does his normal job and relays information to the Apocolyte group. Jackson sees both sides to this battle and can tell that things are going to get worse. But which side does he help and how does he keep those he cares for safe at the same time?
This books has a lot more action than the first book. There are twists and turns that will keep you guessing. I did feel for Jackson. He knows that the president is a monster and his actions just keep reinforcing that opinion. But how much better are the Apocolyte’s? Both sides are gaining power and are gearing up for a large battle. But who could really know which side to take. Not everyone is completely good and not everyone is completely bad.
If that was not hard enough of a decision, Jackson’s family is involved. He learns the hard way that he cannot keep his family safe. But he has to be careful, acting out of emotion is not the way to go into this political nest of vipers.
I really enjoyed Fire War II: Treason. It’s a great story with lots of action that will have you rushing to see what is going to happen next.
I received Fire War II: Treason from Reading Addiction Virtual Book Tours for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
Jackson oldest daughter Maya has been taken by the government for rehabilitation for having propaganda in her procession. Jackson wants to get his daughter back so he turns to the only people he knows that can help him and that is the Apocolyte a rebel group that is trying to over throw the government and bring out the truth in order to take back their country and save the people.
The Apocolyte have agreed to help Jackson but in turn he must do a favor for them. It is like you scratch my back and I will scratch your back kind of thing so of course Jackson agrees. After his daughter was taken away it caused Jackson to open his eyes more to really be able to see what the president is doing. With his position at the White House as the president’s top security guy Jackson has access to a lot of information that could help the Apocolyte.
Jackson must now decide which side he wants to play on. Which side does Jackson believe in? Does he think that the president is doing the best thing for the country? Is the president the good guy or the bad guy? Is the Apocolyte the good people or the bad people? Whose team does Jackson want to play on?
Fire War II: Treason has been a fast read it will grab your attention with the first word and will hang on right up to the last word and leaving you wanting more. This has been an awesome journey one in which I can’t wait to follow more of in the next book Fire War III: Uprising.
I definitely enjoyed this more than the first book. Fire War 2 has a lot more action and moves so quickly that I read most of it in one sitting and already started book 3. Great read for fans of political dystopian fiction.
Rescuing the world from terrorists seems trying, but the real issue at stake is finding out who the radicals are. Jackson’s life as well as his family’s is at risk, and he has to get moving on figuring what he needs to do. It’s a necessity he select a side to be on and there’s no time to waste. There’s a hazy division between the reality and deception. As a infiltrator for anti-administration, Jackson―soldier veteran, associate―needs to retain his focus on his profession, and then get intel back to his rebel manager. This is book 2 in the “Fire War” series and it’s just as trilling as the first perhaps even more. Author T T Michael has concocted a political, dystopian story filled with action, suspense and intrigue. A sure page turner, that kept me captivated until the very end.
