In the Secrets of a Side Bitch series, Capone was Omari's right hand man, but a boss, nonetheless. In Capone & Capri, his bad boy swag is tested when death falls at his doorstep, along with the possibilities of love. He had been juggling women all of his life; never a one woman man, with no interest in finding “the one.” But a real man doesn't hesitate when he finds the right woman, even if he wasn't even looking for her, and Capone did not hesitate the moment that he laid his eyes on Capri, a coal-colored beauty, who owned a voluptuous body; the best curve being her smile. Yet, when DBD, Death Before Dishonor, an infamous drug organization in Chicago, which Capone heads, has madness brought to its doorstep, love is placed on the back burner. As Capone avenges the death of one of the most important members of DBD, his focus has to turn to revenge, but he finds peace in the arms of his “Black Beauty.”
However, as sweet and kind as Capri is, the black beauty is battling demons of her own. As she is being pursued by Capone, while still being involved with another man and dealing with family drama, her plate is full.
From the national bestselling author of the Secrets of a Side Bitch series, Jessica Watkins is back with yet another explosive and suspenseful saga that is guaranteed to leave you wanting more! She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. Man this was an ok, good book but way too long and childish, very childish. Neisha"Capri" man what are you on girl? Are naive, gullible, or just plain stupid? I don't even know how to feel about you but since this book is about you, there truly isn't anything to say or do about it, but you best believe you are truly a sorry, sorry, person to be related to our species. You proclaim, that you are this strong intelligent and focus loving woman, mother and all, but the decisions you make is unbelievable. Unfortunately if you loose it all, then that's on you and I think I won't be mad at that....you were so wrong to not only be there, and drag these people with you, all for what?.... Terrell"Capone" you are bae, stay bae all the time. So far nothing to reproach you, so in my book you are all right. Maine, man, can't for karma to come for you as well as Joi, and all of the others... I could past this rating, because this book was truly not making sense until the end when we could finally understand these kids stuff with Capri. Don't know why authors think it's a good thing to keep with the mystery until the nd, without realizing that the readers can and will get annoyed at not understanding what's going on prior to either give up on the book or don't even want to entertain it any longer. And then you loose potential readers for more of your work.
I liked Capone in Secrets of a side. He met Capri in Miami, but they never exchanged contact information. After running into her in Chicago, they formed a friendship. Can’t wait to see where it goes.
Wonderful story! Loved this beginning! Good building storyline with familiar characters. Capone & Capri are that couple! I hope they can make it last. Capone is a lovable character. Capri really has a lot to deal especially with her mom. I'm glad Capri met up with Jasmine & Eboni. That ending left me nervous & has me so ready to read the next part!
Most readers will remember CAPONE from Secrets of A SIDE BITCH, which is why I gave his own book series CAPONE & CAPRI a chance. I didn't know how I felt when CAPRI gave CAPONE, A STRANGER TO HER, SOME in that club when they'd just met. But, was glad when they crossed paths when she came to THE CHI & got together. I wasn't sure that either was ready to be in a relationship simply because they didn't quite know each other given how instant they had met each other. I'm not one to believe or support people falling in love with the stranger they'd f--ked in a Miami club, but I like when people take an interest in someone that they find themselves attracted to though. I like that CAPRI IS REFERRED TO AS "BLACK BEAUTY". I liked this book better than I had its sequel, & this is one of the book series of Ms. Watkins that I liked & asked my local library to store amongst other authors, upon being drawn in by the beautiful artwork on its cover.
Capone and Capri were good for each other. It was time for Capri to leave Maine. Maine wasn't interested in improving himsellf. Maine's friend who was involved in the robbery with him was no real friend. As soon as he was out of money, he returned to the city, robbed Maine and killed his aunt. He did not have the decency to return for Maine's mother funeral. Capone wants to wife Capri but she feels compel to attend the birthday party. Besides Main, who was the female who got shot. Was it Capri, Eboni or Jazmine. I can't wait to find out. If it is Capri, Capone is going to lose his mind. Starting book 2 now. This was very good.
It was good. It just felt like the story was underdeveloped. So her kids aren’t actually hers but most of the story is made to seem like they are her and Maine kids. I think it should’ve been clear from the beginning. Though I get why she took them. For them to be such a big part of the story they weren’t developed. We don’t know much about them and it seems like they could’ve been discussed more. Good story line though interested in part 2.
To say this as good is just not saying enough, because this was really a good read from the beginning to very end.I love me some Capone this is a man you want in your corner.I love the build up to this relationship you are slowly pulled in and you love every moment.Looking forward to next episode, just got to know what happens next.
Omg Capone was the man. I think Capri going to mess it up with stupid Maine he is so wrong for her. All this time I thought those was her kids omg they her bro an sis. her mother need to go already she just a total mess up.
So I’m all about living vicariously through these hood novels, and this one did not disappoint. It gave me everything I needed, even left me hanging toward the end and ready for part 2.
See this why u shouldn’t be sneaky Capri look what happened in the end!! I would not have went to main party I’m sorry, she should of turned her self around!! But that’s real life scenario for u. Currently have my eyes ready for part 2
This is my third book reading from this author. The first 2 books were ok, but this one is 🔥🔥🔥. I’m glad a I gave her another chance. I hope these 2 get it together!! Great story. Can’t wait to read the next installment.
This book didn’t disappoint me. I’m trying to finish this review so I can download the next book. Definitely a good read I can’t give you the tea sip it yourself. I gotta go download the next book. Ttyl
Capone and Capri are something else. There chance meeting in Miami was magical and sexy. Thanks God they met again in there hometown. Capone was not playing about getting her. I hope all turns out well.
This was a page-turner! I loved every chapter. The entire book seemed to be written so carefully and everything went so smoothly. Can’t wait to read the next one!
