The Sheriff Takes a Bride

Rate this book
Sheriff Zeke Oakley has two problems – raiders attacking homesteads and a girl named Spring. Spring is a country girl with a heart of gold and a red hot temper both of which get her in a lot of trouble, especially with the handsome Sheriff. Zeke has been exasperated by Spring since the day they met. He believes Spring is in need of discipline and is ready to administer it himself if need be. Spring thinks the Sheriff is bossy and overbearing and hates it when he threatens to spank her. How can it be that they are attracted to each other? The Sheriff Takes a Bride is a twenty-two chapter story set in the American old west. The story has dangerous raiders, fierce shootouts, true romance and plenty of loving discipline.

THE WILD CHILD AND THE SHERIFF
I enjoyed this story of Spring Jamison, a young woman who lost her father before her birth, her mother when she was a young girl and raised by her paternal grandfather, Eli. She knows how to hunt, trap, shoot and use a knife, but what she doesn’t do is act and talk like a lady. Sheriff Zeke Oakley is rather shocked when he witnesses a confrontation in town by what looked like a young man and turns out to be a feisty, foul-mouth young woman. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning as this mystery suspense that includes outlaws raiding and torching homesteads and attacking people and making the surrounding area of Harmony anything but harmonious. A budding romance of Zeke and Spring that is full of witty dialog and heartwarming moments. There are many well-deserved spankings and only implied intimacy after marriage.

THE SHERIFF TAKES A BRIDE WAS ENTERTAINING

I really enjoyed the story. However there are a lot of mistakes in spelling and grammar. May you need a better proofreader.

Sweet and sassy…

I’m always happy to pick up a western romance and this one was just what I hoped for - fun, sweet and action-packed. Zeke Oakley is a reluctant sheriff but he knows it is temporary. He will be a farmer someday. He will build a family and create a home. When he meets Spring Jamison, he knows exactly who will be by his side, growing that family, their future, together. Spring grew up under her grandfather’s guidance as he taught her everything he knew about living and surviving in the harsh frontier. She didn’t have a mother’s love to soften the edges so even though she was loving and compassionate she also had a few rough edges along with a quick temper.

Laying down the law early, Zeke made no apologies for his way of correcting his future bride. Spring was equally sure she was not on board with his methods of punishment. She had never been spanked in her life! As danger stalks the entire community, Zeke is determined to keep Spring safe.
As their battle of wills heats up so does their love for each other in a sweet but spicy courtship.

A plot that may seem familiar is given new life with a fresh, and funny, take on love in the old west.

Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Spring is an orphan raised by her mountain man grandfather Eli. On a trip to town when she is 18 years-old, Spring is dressed like a boy. A local bully takes offense when as a boy, Spring refuses to take of his/her hat for the saloon ladies with the bully. A fight occurs as the bully takes off her hat revealing her long brown hair -- and that it is a girl in boy's clothes.

Eli wasn't there to protect her, but the sheriff had been watching and took off at a run when the fight broke out. The sparks fly as Spring and Zeke, the sheriff, battle for control. His desire to protect Spring is strong.

Zeke orders Spring to let him know when they are returning to the ranch because there are raiders in the area. He wants to escort her home. Spring thinks that is silly, and returns home without Zeke.

Realizing they have left, Zeke takes off after them and comes up of where they were ambushed. Eli is shot, and must recover at the ranch. The relationship between Spring and Zeke blossoms.

A traditional western spanking romance. It is sweet with adventure.

This is about Zeke and Spring. Spring has had a hard life. Both of her parents are dead and she was raised by her grandfather, Eli. Eli taught her skills that she needed to take care of herself. He taught her to hunt, ride a horse, shoot a gun and follow a trail, and how to fight, if needed. But, now Eli wanted a husband for her, someone to love and keep her safe.

Spring and Zeke are attracted to one another, but Zeke thinks of her as a woman in need of being taken care of. Actually, she just needs someone to love her. But, Zeke is determined to make a woman out of her and he spanks her quite a bit when she doesn't follow his direction. Spring doesn't mind and they eventually have a HEA. I give this 4 stars.

The Sheriff Takes a Bride is a wonderful book. The character of Spring is sweet, innocent, full of love, and a special spark that ignites when those she loves are involved. While she has been loved growing up life has not always seemed fair. When Spring meets Zeke, the sheriff, life takes on new meaning. Falling in love and growing as woman does not take her strong nature or temper away. He's loves Spring and knows just how to love, take care of, and protect his woman. Overall I recommend this book for anyone who wants a sweet easy read with some mystery, action spankings, and lots of love. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!!

I loved this story. There was a little bit of something for everyone. There was some mystery.
There were heartwarming moments. Outlaws and raids lent a “what will happen next ?” feel to the story. Spring and Zeke was an odd couple. Spring was anything but a lady, but she could survive on her own. Zeke was patient and doled out well deserved correction. It was
an enjoyable read.

This historical fiction novel tells the story of Spring, a country girl raised by her mountain man of a grandfather. As a young woman, Spring falls in love with Zeke, the sheriff. It is love at first sight for both of them. The plot is well-developed and the characters believable. The spanking scenes are hot and extremely realistic portrayals of domestic discipline. I would love to read the story of their best friends.
