I’m the funny guy. The nice guy. The friend, not the heartthrob. And definitely not the one who gets the girl. So when I snag one of the most popular girls at school, my friends on the baseball team are shocked. Talia Smith is beautiful, and dating her is the highlight of my high school experience — until she cheats on me and dumps me. As much as I try to play it off, to be the funny guy everyone expects me to be, I’m heartbroken. One person understands my Ashley McIntosh, the girl whose boyfriend hooked up with Talia. But as bad as I feel for Ashley, I know better than to get involved with her. She’ll chew me up and spit me out. It’s what she’s done with almost every guy on the baseball team. But the more I get to know her, the more I think I’ve misjudged her. The more I see a side of her I never knew existed. A softer side. A side I’m drawn to, against my better judgment. I’m the nice guy, and I’m falling for the mean girl. I only hope I don’t get burned in the process.
Amber Garza has had a passion for the written word since she was a child making books out of notebook paper and staples. Her hobbies include reading and singing. Coffee and wine are her drinks of choice (not necessarily in that order). She writes while blaring music, and talks about her characters like they're real people. She lives with her husband and two kids in Folsom, California, which is also home to another Amber Garza.
Ok so I hated Ashley the first two books and now I felt sorry for her. Glad she could make herself over into a better person. I loved Hayes always making jokes, which is exactly what I do in uncomfortable situations, so I think that's why I loved him right away. Can't wait to read Josh's book when it comes out this summer!
I fall in love with each couple a little more after each book!
Hayes has always escaped to jokes to take the edge off. Yeah he's not a bad looking guy and he's not popular but he does have friends, baseball, and his mom & grandpa. That's a lot more than what Ashley can say she has.
Ashley is the mean girl on top! But every leader has to fall sometime right? Hers just comes when he boyfriend cheats on her with her best friend and she finally wants to change. She's tired of having fake friends, a fake life. Hayes and his grandpa make her want to change for the better!
I've loved every minute of this series and can't get enough of it! It's got love, baseball, and some real life situations!
Ahhhh, I loved this book. So sad that I've read all of the book in this series because I really enjoyed them. This book was about Hayes, the funny guy that usually gets friend-zoned and Ashley, the bitchy popular girl that manipulates everyone. When I first saw that it was about these two, I thought... How in the world is that going to work? I mean, if you've read the first two books, you pretty much detest Ashley. But as you learn her story and about her family life, you really start to understand her. I actually found myself teary eyed a couple of times at how she was treated. I am looking forward to the next book!
Amber has done it again! Such a good story that many of her readers can probably relate when they were in high school! High school was a tough time. Trying to find out who was a real friend and who wasn't. I loved this story. Even though Josh is a jerk I can't wait for his story!
Ashley was a great villain in each book before this. I don't think anyone was able to like her. This book was a really good take on inner demons, self esteem issues and what makes a mean girl. I'm surprised that I don't dislike Ashely anymore. It really was a great job redeeming her. I'm excited to read Josh's book next
Amazing book! Omg it's my favorite one of the series so far. I loved Ashley's character. It's cool being in the mean girls side. To know what they are thinking and why the do some things. And I loved how Hayes was with her.
