Fast Cars & Fidgety Feet

Rate this book
A newspaper ad that fell into his hands by chance, an application for a job made on a whim, and Rishad embarked on the life he had always dreamt of: to travel, experience history, scare himself silly, climb a mountain, explore an underwater coral, jump out of a plane, have a good conversation over wine, make friends with an elephant, and photograph rainbows. In the last fifteen years, as a travel writer for magazines and newspapers, he has been able to fulfil every dream of his, and more. In this delightful travelogue, Rishad takes readers along with him on road trips in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Ferrari; a pilgrimage to Poland where The Great Escape was filmed; a spur-of-the moment New Year trip to see snow; and spectacular treks in the Himalayas. Fast Cars & Fidgety Feet is travel writing at its best.

Read my review at Elgee Writes

Everybody has a dream job. Yes, sadly Netflixing and eating potato chips on the couch is not a job. But what if on a random day, an ad for your dream job lands on your lap, figuratively, what would you do? Would you drop everything and apply it? Or chicken out. That was just a rhetorical question, do not answer.

That's what exactly happened to the author when he found an advertisement in a newspaper for a job in the automobile magazine. He now lives his dream by keeping up with his interest in driving cars and feet that wanted to travel all around the world. Fast Cars & Fidgety Feet is a nonfiction written by Rishad telling us tales of his misadventures while traveling around the world. There are a few funny anecdotes that you might enjoy.

Fresh and honest travel account.

Book has simply inspired to travel the places mentioned in novel way breaching the stereotypical approach. Will definitely requires practical trials. Though somewhere it looked like commercial advertisements but in non annoying way.

Very nice if you want to know about the cars driven by him, his friends in various places and the way he drives. But otherwise pointless. Its like those articles you read in the faux travel magazines.

Very nice.

Though in some places thenarration seemed amateurish, had a wonderful sense of peace and adventure. The first 3 chapters were just amazing. Once you read you will also want to travel.

As a person who loves traveling, this book was just what was needed to send me into day dreams. This guy seems to live a life of dreams where he visits exotic locations and gets to test drive awesome machinery. The chapters are short and crisp and has human touch to it which makes it a very interesting read. Absolutely loved this book.
