Rate this book
During the Great Depression of the 1930s thousands of writers were hired by the Works Project Administration to create hundreds of guidebooks on all of the states in the U.S. These volumes that were produced became known as the American Guide Series . This series has been described as the biggest, fastest and most original research job in the history of the world. This is one of the state guide books written by the Federal Writers Project during the first depression.

While I admit I only fully read the portions related to South Florida, it is a fascinating look at Florida in the late 1930s. Lots of historical information you cannot find elsewhere. Roughly 70 years later, you can see how things have changed that much.
