Yuriko Hime had her humble beginnings in an indie publishing website. After getting 3 million plus reads on her book Starstruck, and getting a demand from her readers, she decided to have it published. She goes back and forth in Sacramento California and Asia and calls both places her home. When not writing books, Hime dwells on life's biggest why's, such as why Nutella is not called candy, and why the fine print under labels was placed there if she can't read it anyway.
This book has a refreshing take on the relationship between celebrities and a normal individual, that's why I was intrigued and decided that it is worth buying. Once I got to read the 1st chapter I want to finish it as soon as possible because of all the feelings this book has given me. Every chapter leaves me hooked and has very good cliffhangers.
I love the part where the author took time to let the readers know every detail. All of the characters are well thought and have their own personalities. The main characters were given time to get to know each other before their love progressed. The way the story flowed I can say it was well thought.
I think this book deserves a 5 star rating. This is a well-written novel that is perfect for young adults. It is light read and the love story is very intense. I love the character build up and the whole plot.
For those who gave 1 star rating, what's wrong with you people?
For me, this book was very immature at times (most). I think how I was at that age, so I really struggled with how there was a lot of playground attitude.
I was very annoyed early on when someone tried to date rape them. How it was treated flabbergasted me. It was like oh she tried, but she didn't. It was insensitive to treat attempted rape like it was so trivial.
This book was extremely long, or that's how it felt. I just couldn't settle after the attempted date rape scene.
Yuriko is a good writer but this book just didn't do it for me , sorry.
I was hooked the moment I read the first 4 chapters in Amazon so I decided to buy it. I did not regret purchasing it because of the feeling the book gave me. Some might think it's over the top because the other character is a celebrity but it does happen in real life. I recommend reading this.
turned out this actually was a wattpad book. I feel really bad about making fun of it the entire time i read it. The thing is though, the technical parts of writing really missed a lot. The story was shockingly pretty good. While it felt unorthodox and poorly explained and motives weren't clear and a lot of other stuff that felt weird/poorly executed, if you look past that it's an adorable tale with questionable morals. Fated mc's, tw pedophilia and some other really lovely tropes.
I can admit this book is not polished, regardless it was quite the fun read. I think if you went into this book with a "so bad its good" mindset you'll thoroughly enjoy it. It's memorable as fuck, corny in the greatest of ways and just plain cheesy as shit. it's amazing.
All the editing errors and the writing aside, I feel like this is the type of storyline that would be more enjoyable for younger audiences. There are really some unrealistic frustrating moments, such example would be when the characters feel like they have something really important to say, in one way or another, there would be some external unforeseen forces that interrupted their words. It didn't happen just once or twice, but multiple times, hence I'm was extremely annoyed by it. However, at the end of the story, I feel like the author did put a lot of works into creating this kind of storyline. All loose ends are concluded, there is no extra cliffhanger, and it felt like a solid romance overall. At some point, I feel kind of 'tired' to continue reading this book. I almost put it down several times, but my partly-perfectionist-self demanded me to finish this, and I'm glad I did.
What can i say... this book really super duper amazing.. really give inspiration. soon i will make a song base on this book. specials dedicated to the author. i love dulce and glace. they're amazing and mostly very cute. i really chapter 1 to the end. i love all the scene and character. Until now, i still smile when i remember this story. To those who planing to read this book, please listen your favorite song while read this, and prepare a water / coke or some food beside. Its thrilling waiting for you. I love you author.
This book would have been perfectly fine with just the beginning and the end, without the excessive drama in the middle. I loved how the love story began at age 7 and how they were each other's true love. A true fairytale.
But nobody communicates in this book. No one tells people how they truly feel. So much time wasted because people just won't admit they like someone. And why would no one tell Dulce's mum that she was going to marry a jerk? Was the part about Glace's dad even necessary?
Glace and Dulce are the perfect pair. I love everything about them and their story. It is a very unique way to meet, a very heart stopping way to meet again after not seeing for years. I love the ending and I'm looking forward to reading more from the Author.
I highly recommend everyone to read this book. You will be deeply submerged to their lives that you can feel the story. You can feel every emotion of the characters through the beautiful and expressive words from the Author.
This is a 5 star novel that shot itself in the foot with a shotgun thinking it was a BB gun. It was going great. Totally loved the story. Realistic -enough- story and so on... right up until it wasn't.
Definite spoilers below. Please don't read until you get to "that point" which is impossible for you to miss.
Yea... so I can give authors artistic license for their stories but there is a limit to BS
I found this book on Chapters and had to buy the book after reading it!! Just like the game the book is awesome, I love Glace and Dulces relationship!! They are soooo cute!! All the characters were amazing and I loved each personality. Tim is funny, Patty the loving friend. Glace I think was my favorite, though famous you can still love like everyone else! I love how they knew each other before, it was so sweet. There was twists and turns, some I figured would happen, some a shock!! Totally a great book! For my first Lesbian book I was so happy!! I hope in the future the author will make a book 2!
After reading Lesbian Academy I was already sold on the author. Shortly after I came to read her other work Starstruck, and as ever what a pleasant read it was. :) Sweet and comfortable characters around the lead, a harmonious interaction with the person of interest and a deep patient sense of longing for one another that roots deeper as you read on. Overall a loving read.
When i saw the title i had to read this book since im totally into fiction with one beeing a celebrity and one beeing a fan at the moment. Sadly this was not what i expected from the title. The story itself was okay, the idea behind it was very cute. Most times i asked myself why doesnt Frio tell her whats going on, we get the explanation for that later but it doesnt make any sence to this point for me as a reader it would be more exiting if i know before hand why she doenst tell her - so I would press my thumbs all the time that she finally figures it out. From the writing i have to say its okay but feels more like a fanfiction i read somewhere online than a published book.
This was such a beautiful book, I cried in chapter 24-26 and I plan on reading the whole thing again. There's just so much development in the story I don't know where to start, Dulce and Glacé are just a match made in heaven, together through thick and thin, no indications of a toxic relationship.
One of my favourites! I have read all of your books including the ones on Wattpad. A few spelling errors here and there, but other than that, great book!
