Rate this book

Read four chapters of THE INQUISITION for free!

A year has passed since the Tournament. Fletcher and Ignatius have been locked away in Pelt's dungeons, but now they must face trial at the hands of the Inquisition, a powerful institution controlled by those who would delight in Fletcher's downfall.

The trial is haunted by ghosts from the past with shocking revelations about Fletcher's origins, but he has little time to dwell on them; the graduating students of Vocans are to be sent deep into the orc jungles to complete a dangerous mission for the king and his council. If they fail, the orcish armies will rise to power beyond anything the Empire has ever seen.

The Stakes: Higher than you can imagine. Like life-and-death. Welcome to the revolution. And get ready to run.

This is a wonderful book of friendship, honor, and loyalty. It is almost as good as the first one, almost. The only reason it isn't as good is because of all the trials at the beginning of the book. Other than the slow and dragged out beginning it was an action-packed book. I loved Ignatius in The Novice. In this book, Taran Matharu made him even more fun and exciting. Another demon joined Fletcher and his friends. She is a gryphowl and her name is Athena. She is super cool but she doesn't hit it on the head like Ignatius. Ignatius has been with fletcher since the beginning and it doesn't seem right to get a new demon for him. I still loved the book though.

There are so many different types of demons in The Inquisition and it makes it way cooler. They are all so cute and loveable. Even the bad guy's demons were still adorable. The way the demons synergized with their summoners was written beautifully. They completely fixed Fletcher in this book. They made him more of a hero and character than just someone to drive the plot. I can't get enough of this trilogy and I can't wait to read the third book "The Battlemage". It will be amazing, hopefully.
