Easy and simple guide for mindfulness practice.

Book started off with the history of mindfulness, and detailing on its benefit and How we can incorporate mindfulness into our daily day to day life. The topics of mindful coloring, mindful parenting were new to me.

The book started of with the following quote from Paul Gibbons, which was a good and inspiring start.
“Mindfulness requires being a beginner. Setting absurdly high-standards, and being unwilling to be a novice, are the joint enemies of personal progress and change. Nobody benchpresses 100 kilos the first time they enter a gym.”

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review.

Just what I wanted, simple introduction to the technique. The author went on with a lot of claims about the benefits of meditation, but the basic techniques are here and someone who finds themselves interested can go on to other sources (I have found a couple of excellent audio aps)

Very enjoyable introduction to meditation for beginners

I am somewhat familiar with mindfulness practices from courses that have been offered at my job, but this book gave me a number of techniques that I can employ across all of the aspects of my life. I particularly enjoy the section on mindful breathing and have discussed it at length with a number of my friends. They said that it wasn't new to them, but it was to me and I felt that it was well explained and immediately practicable. This is a book that I could read over and over and get something new out of every time that I read it. I definitely recommend it for beginners and feel that it offered a lot of value to me personally.

This book is a good beginning for those wanting to begin being "mindful". Reading this book was a great reminder to be "mindful" of so many things in my life. It made me stop and think about things before acting or reacting to situations, really appreciate surroundings and events.... in other words, be MINDFUL... I have read a book previously about mindful eating. This goes into all aspects of life. I would recommend this book to those interested in the topic.

Really brief outline of how to be more mindful in your everyday life. It doesn't offer any real answers to finding the time to purposely be mindful, it's more of a reminder that we can make the choice to be mindful in many aspects of our lives.

The "how to" section was too short and the "what mindfulness does for you" was too long, but still good.
