Community connotes safety and togetherness—or does it?

Bailey and Chloe head back on the road, where they come across strange markings belonging to a group intent on bloodshed and abduction. With this heinous enemy lurking in the shadows, they seek help in new and old friends along the way.

When they arrive at Hargrove, nothing is what it seems inside the makeshift, post-apocalyptic community. People are turning up dead, and for once, zombies aren’t the ones to blame. Fingers are pointed, everyone is a suspect, and no one is safe outside or inside these walls.

N. D. Iverson is a young author trying to find her niche in the world. She has a business degree - to which she is still trying to find a practical application for. She has bounced from half-baked ideas of becoming a forensic pathologist (cut short when the option for attending an autopsy came up and she rather quickly decided maybe that wasn't for her), a member of a rock band (sadly, neither she nor her friends could play instruments or sing, not that it's a requirement these days...), and many more.

This Would Be Paradise is her first completed novel, which has started a chain reaction of one-too-many book ideas dancing around in her head. She plans on wrangling in these ideas and turning them into something readable. So keep an eye out for more to come!

In Book 2 we start off pretty much where the first left off. Bailey and Chloe are still on their own in the Zombie Apocalypse. Bailey is still so faraway from home and not knowing where any of her friends are.

There’s one thing I love about Bailey, she really adapts to this world. Takes care of Chloe like she promised. And she soon learns that, in this world, the survivors are the worst of it. There may be a ton of infected but the survivors are very dangerous. You can’t trust really anyone. She is cautious at times, in which she should be.

The story could be a little bit slow at times. Since there’s not a ton of action but it’s a story about surviving. Bailey has to learn how to deal with a lot of characters and a lot of difficult situations, all the while still holding on to her humanity.

Iverson is really a good writer and I love how she writes. This is super enjoyable and I think it’s great. I love all kinds of zombie themed books, if they are done right. And this one is done right. It will be interesting to see what happens in Book 3. The ending I didn’t see coming and I’m sad about one of the characters. But that’s the thing about these types of books. It’s easy to grow close to characters. And then have them ripped away.

Overall, I give this story Four Boundless Stars....Lissa

I'm just, I don't know. I was able to finish it, but I was also grateful that I finished it. I was barely kept interested in the storyline due to the murder mystery aspect, and the whole immune/finding that guys wife who's name I can't even remember now. Yet, only half of that was concluded in this book. I do want to read the 3rd just to see how it ends, but I am doubtful that it will be any type of shocking twist. I mean the murder mystery thing was so predictable. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the 3rd book isn't in audio format (yet?) so it is doubtful I will read it unless I can listen to it to and from work.

It was a good read. I am really enjoying this series so far. One good thing I want to point out about this series is that it shows the characters' weaknesses and struggles. And that is so hard to see in most novels, especially in an apocalyptic setup. Bailey is learning through her experiences while trying to survive in hurdles of zombies. She's no expert, in fact, she's also unlocking the characteristics of her personality that were hidden before, like her being a leader mentioned many times in the book wasn't forced and her reaction to people commenting how good she's at leading others definitely didn't look out of place. The side characters were also doing a good job of portraying how people would react in a situation like this. There is a fair amount of blood and gore in the book, just giving a heads-up. Though if you're going to read a zombie novel you should already be prepared for that. One thing that didn't satisfy me a lot in this book was how it felt a little odd that Ethan wasn't that involved in a lot of situations. I get that he was busy with his own stuff but I was desperately waiting for him by the end of the first book and when they both finally met it wasn't as enthusiastic as I was expecting it to be. He wasn't included in a big part of the plot of book 2 while being the main male romantic interest. But overall, a good book. Would definitely recommend it to the fellow Wattpaders. I have read a Wattpad book after such a long time. It felt nostalgic. Used to be so engrossed in Wattpad when I was a teenager.

This book was better than the first, the personalities of each character were a little more fleshed out and we got to see more of the relationships. But I still feel there was more telling than showing.

Narrator was also better!

There were a few mistakes I noticed, mixing up of names and voices of who was doing what. Specifically when Collin/Darren had swung at a zombie’s face and it said Collin did it but Collin said it was rad that Darren did it. Didn’t happen often but was a little odd when it did.

Overall I liked it, the murder mystery was fun to follow along and I really had thought it was one character and not the one it turned out to be so kudos to the author for keeping that behind the curtain until the reveal!

This picks up right where the previous book left off, bailey is still the sole carer for Chloe as they search for their missing group and Chloe's brother Ethan. Then they have an idea to back track to go to John's weaponry shop and that's where the first clue they receive to find their group.

Soooo I was kind of moving towards who I would've prefered Bailey to end up with, as the guy she is with was kind of too soft for this world, whereas the other guy was more edgy and was made for this changed world, and then the unthinkable happens..He gets killed..So that was the end of that..A few swear words later and I jumped right back into it..

Great story, great characters

I got book one for free and it was good, so I bought book two, which was even better, already have book three; and I must admit I often do not buy series until there are at least three books written and prefer if the series is complete. So this series being complete played a large part in me taking the free book, I often don’t.

I love Bailey and John, I love that there is loads veg but no real life ever story , love that there are bad people after the apocalypse but that there are not ONLY bad people.

On to book Three!!

This was a good read although not as good as the first one. I felt like this was less about survival and more about people dramas which is the opposite to what I enjoy about zombie books. That’s not to say it wasn’t entertaining. It just didn’t grab me, hence why it took so long for me to read. I’m looking forward to reading the next book and hopefully some of the magic from the first book comes back.

Like the first "This Would Be Paradise," Book 1, Book 2 was very good. I enjoy a good zombie story and this full filled that part. I was invested in the story till the end and even so much so I had to skip a few paragraphs because I wanted to know what was going to happen. It was well written and detailed, and easy to read.

Couldn't stop reading!

Would it be bad to say that I really enjoy reading these books, considering all the really bad stuff that happens? You really keep me in suspense from one page to the next. Looking for book three to find out where it goes.

Very good series with well developed characters who make mistakes & mostly survive them. I am eagerly awaiting the next book to see what happens next.

I loved this book—except for the ending. I wish it didn’t have to end that way!! This book series is so well-written that it feels like the characters in these books are my friends...idk is that weird?! But seriously, Darren’s death still has me bawling my eyes out 2 days later!!

This book had me sobbing at the end and I was constantly on the edge of my seat, it definitely has more character development than the first book and a ton of new characters.

In a crazy sequel to Book 1, TWBP Book 2 picks up exactly where it was left off and continues the story in a quick and exciting way. The ending leaves on another crazy cliffhanger.

We are back again following Bailey and Chloe as they travel along trying to find Chloe’s big brother Ethan and Bailey’s best friend zoe and the rest of their little group. On their little trip to finding everyone Bailey gets in a lot of practice with her shooting actually more than she would like killing zombies and well people that are still alive as well.

With Bailey and Chloe being all alone and female at that; everyone thinks they are weak and some men think that Bailey is theirs for the taking. But Bailey will not go down without a fight. She has to do somethings that she is not comfortable doing but is her only choice at the time. But after it is all over she is having a hard time keeping it together but she must for Chloe and her own sake. If they want to survive that is beside she is Chloe’s only safe heaven at the moment.

While they are trying to find their friends they do meet up with more people and each and every time they are not sure if they can trust them or not. It has finally come down to who is good or bad. But they do meet some good people that help them out and give them a place to stay for a few days but things don’t turn out exactly as planned.

Needless to say Chloe and Bailey are on the road again with a couple of new friends, a man, Roy and his daughter Amanda. Well with nowhere to go or any plans Roy figures that going with Bailey and Chloe is as good a plan as any at the moment. So they are back on the road again looking for their friends and fighting zombies.

I love Bailey’s sense of humor and her snarky come backs at the oddest times. I also love how she will just bust out laughing right in the middle of fighting zombies. She will keep you on your toes laughing the whole way. I love all the characters (well almost all) in This Would Be Paradise Book 2. Chloe is a very smart girl for a nine and a half year old. Her and Bailey make a good team.

This Would Be Paradise Book 2 is a very fast paced read with just about the right amount of zombie fighting and killing. I would love to see This Would Be Paradise on the big screen! I can’t wait for book 3 to find out more about Bailey, Chloe, Ethan, John, Zoe and all of the other characters and what they run into to next.

I really love Bailey, the main character. I especially loved her relationship with Chloe in the first book. Unfortunately, that got pushed to the side in this book. Fortunately, the new characters and story developments made up for that.

Some of the new story elements made me just as paranoid as Bailey! I felt a real sense of dread at some points as Bailey searched for a safe place. By the end of the book, I wondered if there was any safe place left.

There's a lot going on in this book -- new characters and plot lines introduced, some good action scenes, good character development for Bailey. I loved seeing the beginnings of Bailey as a leader. Right now, she's still a maverick fighting authority. It'll be fun seeing her come into her own as a leader. At least I hope that where the next part of the story goes.

I wasn't happy with the cliffhanger ending. I would have liked more resolution there. I'll still be getting the next book as soon as it's out!

A Serial Killer in the apocalypse? Aren't Zombies bad enough?

This is one of the better apocalypse with zombies books out there. Some of the usual stuff but some new and different too. Have you heard of a serial killer on a post apocalypse settlement? Neither had I.

Bailey is a young woman who is vacationing in New Orleans with her friend Zoe, both from Canada. They are stuck there when the infected starts infecting people and the government falls. They meet up with a brother, Darren, and his 9 year old sister Chloe. Bailey ends up stranded with the little girl and some of the best character development happens between them.

They are a part of many adventures, and you will have to read the book to find out where the serial killer appears.

Now the wait for the third book in this series. I don't know if this will be three and done or if there will be more but I am in for the ride.

January 2017 I am rereading this book to read the third book.

I preferred this book to the first in the series, the writer definitely improved their pacing. It had less blocks of repetitive descriptive text which really improved the flow. The plot was more exciting and I was a lot more invested in the action.

The characters were more developed than in the first book which helped to make them more realistic. I liked that Bailey became more complex as she had to make hard decisions and then live with the choices she made. It was interesting to see her view of herself change as the book progressed.

I gave this three stars because I enjoyed it but wouldn’t re-read.

Book 2 does NOT disappoint! It kicks off in full swing with Bailey and Chloe separated from the group and trying to make their way. I love how Bailey didn't start off as a leader but she slowly adapted and came into her own and now pretty bad ass!
Her intuition with situations is really on point, as she felt all that glitters wasn't gold in the safe haven Hargrove. I won't post spoilers but you can't go wrong with little romance, bad assert, zombies and **gasp** serial killer in the apocalypse!
The ending was bittersweet and caught me off guard. I'm anxiously awaiting Book 3!

The series gets better and better

Book one was fantastic. So what's better than fantastic to describe this book? I don't know either. I really love this series. The characters are wonderfully written and there is plenty of dark humour to make me chuckle out loud. Book two has left us on a knife edge so all I can say is N D Iverson had better be putting in some night shifts because I for one am counting the days till book 3 !!!!

Very original story for the zombie genre.
Miss Iverson created real characters that the reader actually cares about.
I would recommend this series even to readers that do not normally read Zombie books!
I can't wait for her next book.

Beware of the dead as well as the live

Exciting story with interesting characters. Amazing how fast society falls apart in a crisis and the living are preyed upon by the walking dead and other living.

This is a terrific zombie novel! There is just enough gore, weapons description, romance, and action without going overboard on any one of these elements! I'm looking forward to the third installment - hope there is one and SOON!
