When I stepped into the dank depths of the Egyptian ruins, I didn’t expect to find something I’d been searching for my entire adult life—the tomb of the mysterious pharaoh, Nebtawyre Mentuhotep IV. And, I certainly didn’t expect the sexy pharaoh to step out of his sarcophagus very much alive. Lust soon overpowers reason as I fall down the rabbit hole with Wyre. He claims me completely—my mind, body, and soul. We only have three days to break a 4,000 year-old curse placed on him by his crazy ex. If we don’t, he’ll return to his tomb and take my heart with him.

Cursed by D.P. Payne is book 2 in her Supernatural Love Stories in the Absurd & is a fully standalone short story.

I was hesitant after reading the blurb because the hero was a "4000 year old mummy" & I was afraid of how that would work...but I shouldn't have been, DP did not disappoint!

Once I started I could not put this story down! Having been betrayed by a trusted friend & cursed by a scorned lover 4000 years ago, Wyre is looking for the one woman who can break his curse & set him free. Moira, is the archeologist who has been searching her entire adult life for the tomb of the mysterious pharaoh, Nebtawyre Mentuhotep IV.

What follows is a well-written, fun, easy read that is extremely HOT!

This is the second book I've read by D.P. Payne & it won't be the last! I cannot wait to read what she writes next!

A curse, a chance at redemption and love, and a ticking time limit! This was a fast paced sexy story that swept me off my feet. I loved the characters and how the story played out. My favorite so far!

Sizzling. Whirlwind. Completely fascinating read!

Once again I binged this super hot beauty because it's like eating chips - once I had a taste, I was addicted and just keep eating. Ya I just kept reading. Devouring every scorching hot, thought provoking, sometimes heartbreaking word while all the 'feels' coursed through my body - on a mission to see how this unique story was going to end.

It should come as no surprise this author manages to surprise me even after I think I have it all figured out. Nope. The twists keep coming. Love unpredictability!

Wyre has been cursed and whoa is the curse a doozie. His betrothed did not hold back when she sentenced him to an eternity of darkness and torture for his wrong doings. Although at the time I get where she was coming from I held out hope he'd find a way to redeem himself eventually. This time his 3 days may be life changing.

Moira is a well written heroine. She has had this unexplainable drive to discover all things related to this particular pharaoh and time period where so many gaps existed. She was determined to find artifacts, tombs or whatever to piece together the stories she so desperately hungered for. What she stumbles on and her visceral reaction to her finding had me like - appalled but also turned on - talk about conflicted!

Wyre & Moira's chemistry is fiery. They know from the start that their time together has an expiration. What starts as a wicked fling quickly becomes intimate, affectionate and sure to become nothing short of heartbreak.

Can these two fall in love? Break the dreaded curse? Or is Moira doomed for heartbreak and Wyre for another 24 years of darkness?

You'll have to read this delicious story to find out. I devoured it in a quick binge where I tuned out the fam for a little me time. I can't get enough of this series. Book 3 here I come.

Fascinating, fast-paced romance!

Buckle up before you start this book, because it takes off at lightning speed and, hoo boy! An insta-lust scene that'll slam you up against the wall!

Wyre is cursed by his jealous fiance and lives the next 4,000 years awake but entombed, only able to emerge for three days every twenty-four years. Moira is an Egyptologist who has always been drawn to the little-known pharaoh, and when she happens to be exploring his tomb at the same time as his next awakening, their explosive first meeting launches an unforgettable three-day journey to break the curse.

The story is very sweet yet emotionally charged, with scorching hot love scenes and poignant reminders of the passage of time. It was great to see Waylon and Chastity (from Parched) playing supporting roles in this book, giving us a bit of an update on their life together, too. Superbly written, the reader is drawn into this magical world where anything can, and does, happen. It's completely unlike any other paranormal story I've ever read, and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is book two in the series but it can be read as a standalone. This is a novella as it has less then 100 pages. I have to say I wasn't sure if this book was going to be my thing but I am sure glad I gave it a shot! Whoa! I started reading and was done in about an hour. I couldn't stop. When I finished the book I seriously didn't even realize I was done lol. It was serious book crack! Moira is an archaeologist who basically steps into some Egyptian ruins and stumbles upon the tomb of Nebtawyre Mentuhotep IV. She has been searching for this her whole life! She goes in thinking she's going to find a mummy but Wyre steps out very much alive. He is completely sexy and lust takes over and well stuff happens. They have three days to break a 4000 year old curse put on him by his crazy high priestess ex. Or he goes back to his tomb for another 24 years. There was a part of the book that cracked me up when Moira compares Wyre to a playboy pinup and thunder down under and it made me laugh out loud. This book totally grabbed me and I was sucked in!

I think this is my favorite one so far.

We get a pharaoh that just can't keep it in his pants. When his wife finds him screwing someone else (again) she puts a curse on him. He is only allowed to wake up every 27 years for 3 days to find his forever love. Needless to say, Wyre doesn't take it too seriously the first couple thousand years. So when he wakes up this time, he expects it to be just like always.

Moira has been looking for the tomb of Nebtawyre Mentuhotep IV for a while now. But when she finds it she never expected him to look so alive. When Moira learns of the curse neither of them takes it as she could be the love of his life. But they do make the most of it.

I really liked this story. We also get to see the couple from the last book, although you don't have to have read it to understand this book. :)

Absurd two! See what I did there! LOL

Again a book that takes you back in time only to be thrown back into the present. A mix of history and sex – excellent combination. Definitely a quick and fun read.

A quirky ride where once again man pisses off woman – although this time, she has some power behind her punch. Poor Wyre, the pharaoh quite happily screwing his way through life and not settling down with his wife. His fiancée, a high priestess, quite handily crafts a curse on Wyre only to be broken by love – with a twist.

Many years later, enter Moira, young archeologist who has been fascinated with Nebtawyre Mentuhotep IV for years. Imagine her surprise and excitement when she finds a tomb and it is his.

A quirky look at the history of a little known pharaoh. I love this book and am so looking forward to more from DP Payne.

CURSED is the second standalone short story in DP’s Supernatural Love Stories Series in the Absurd, and I LOVED it! From the moment I read the excerpt at the end of PARCHED, I was intrigued and counted down until release day—when the day was announced on FB. As soon as it released, I one-clicked it and devoured it in one sitting.

Let me tell you, DP does not disappoint. CURSED is funny, touching, and scorching HOT.
An unexplained fascination with history, a love story, and a mystery… Moira and Wyre are on a race against time, will they succeed or will they fall to a scorned woman’s curse?

This is a must read, and like before, I am now awaiting her next story.

A archeologist walks into a tomb and finds a 4000 year old living mummy. No this isn't the start of a bad joke, it's the beginning of D.P.Payne's book Cursed. Wyre was cursed by a bitter priests in ancient Egypt and only has three days every twenty-four years where he can walk around and try to break the curse. Moira has been searching for Wyre her entire life, she just didn't realize how much he would come to mean to her. Is three days really long enough to fall in love? D.P. Payne takes something that should be utterly absurd and makes you believe. Cursed is a quick kinky store with a heart of gold.

From the moment I picked up this book, I was a little bit perplexed. A 4,000 year old mummy. I thought it was more of a horror story than a love story, but I was wrong.

While its the second book in a series it is a stand alone. It did however character crossovers from the first to the second which I love!

Regardless of that though, this book will draw you in and drive you mad. You can finish the book in one day, but you'll be mad later that you did, or at least that's how I felt!

Either way dive in to the pages and be taken away with the story, you won't regret it. I know I don't.

How can you not fall in love with Wyre and Moira! She an archeologist for crying out loud! A gorgeous brainy woman who isn’t scared to look at tombs alone! She’s pretty awesome in my book! Wow and wyre! You know that man has got to be out of this world good looking! I mean even Ms. Evil herself said she was going to miss you know what! And I seriously needed a cold shower every chapter with the heat created by Moira and Wrye!

I love the supernatural world and seeing a different side to romance and getting a taste of history!

In D.P. style, this is another book, once you start reading it, you can't put it down.

It grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't turn loose with all the twists and turns. With some of the best humor in the right places, it makes it a wonderful read.

When you think it can't get any better, the ending will take you over the top.

You will really be missing out if you don't read this paranormal.

Cursed by D.P. Payne is book 2 in her Supernatural Love Stories in the Absurd but can be a standalone.

DP did not disappoint with this second story! I know when you read the blurb you're going to think "what?" but don't let it stop you from reading this.

It's hot, sexy, romantic, and of course absurd and once I started it I couldn't put it down!!!

This couple has that instant love going on. And chemistry that’s uncontrollable.
She’s having sex with him within the first seconds of laying their eyes on each other. From there she is hooked. No matter how much she tells herself it’s a bad idea. She can’t turn her back on him. Even if the ending isn’t going to be pretty.
Another fantastic book. ❤️

I feel like I've been Cursed, tortured, twisted, poked, stripped with my eyes by Author D.P Payne. Her twisted funny one liners got me the most, this story is one short trip of rafting through a river of love & sex & humor.

I liked this better than book 1. A little more story to the story. If that makes sense. I'm a love story kind of girl, so I'm far more interested in a longer romance where love can develop. But this novella wasn't bad.

Absolutely loved this second installment in the series. Wyre has three days to find his true love before the curse takes him again. He fights for the girl who stumbled upon his burial chamber and who has sought to find out everything about him even before they met.

An old Egyptian curse brings Moira and Wyre together, and this smoking hot PNR read was a lively, funny and action-packed story! Never have I ever thought I'd find a sexy story involving an ancient mummy body, but there you have it. It was wildly fun to read, and I am loving this series!

So first of our heroine's name is Moira....so all I can picture is:

Then to add insult to injury, Moira is kind of slow. She's an archeologist and finds out what the curse is, and that this guy only has 3 days to find love. She spends her time trying to run away from him!? He's sweet, great in bed, and has three days to find love and she bangs him a bunch of times then tells him she actually doesn't think she should stay any longer.

This book was too short to be able to give you a good story. The curse was kind of weird. I didn't feel the love or connection between them at all. I don't want to sound so harsh, I just almost didn't finish it because Moira annoyed me by being an idiot. Otherwise, it's fun and quick, with a ton of sex which was mediocre in my opinion.

Genre should be classified as Erotica, first. ‘Romance’ second
It is a personal pet peeve that women writers don’t refer to the female anatomy’s correctly. Every reference to “clitoris” should be ‘clitoral hood’ as scientifically we now know the clitoris is larger than the small mound that has been widely referred to as the entirety of the clit.
This writer chooses to not use euphemisms or vary the terminology. Lots of pu$$y and co€k, specifically. Additional pet peeve, women should urinate after sex as well as be concerned, even a little bit, about unprotected sex.

Consistency issue, halfway through chapter 10, they refer to the coffin as stone; sarcophagus was described as wooden in the origin chapters, meaning stone on outer and wood on 2nd layer/inner.

This was another solid offering from this series. Wyre is a 4000 year old mummy and Moira is an archeologist who has been searching for his tomb. The author gives us a look into ancient Egypt with a twist into the absurd. The story was funny and intriguing.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! ❤️

Intense sexual attraction

This was intense and the betrayal was unexpected. What happened with the girl that cursed him? I mean the author doesn’t clarify what happened with the priestess and her lover. Anyways the love story was amazing and the interaction was sexy.

I loved this one. Wyre and Moira were perfect for one another. Wyre having been cursed by his wife a high priestess was only awakened every 24 years. By the time he meets Moira 4000 years later, he has resigned himself to that fate. I was crying by the end of their book. My tears must have been needed too! (Thank you Gwyn!) 😉 I loved the ending. They were all so shocked... 🥰🥰🥰
