Smokin' Hot Military Romance! After an unhappy childhood, Luke Carter joined the US Navy and has dedicated the last twelve years of his life to the SEALs. But the relentless overseas tours have taken their toll on his mind and body and now he dreams of what life might be like outside the military. Love, romance, his own space—maybe even a family he can call his own.
Juliet Morgan works in the fast-paced world of finance. Beautiful, headstrong and smart, she chooses her career over love and puts all of her energy into her new job—a job she was ‘persuaded’ to take far away from her beloved Manhattan by her rich, overbearing father. She’s not looking for romance, but feels lonely and lost in her new environment so she turns to online retail therapy to lift her spirits and accidentally stumbles across a dating site where she’s awestruck by Luke Carter.
The sparks flicker to a roaring flame with each sizzling message between them—then the battlefield nearly claims Luke’s life and he’s rushed home to the States. Although he’s only an hour away from Juliet, in his mind everything’s changed and his pride gets in the way of the love, passion, and happiness they both so desperately crave.
Can Juliet break down the walls of this irresistible SEAL, or are they both destined to a life of loneliness?

This is my second Navy seal read, this is by far my most favorite. This is a story about Luke and Juliet. I can't wait to find out what happens between these two.
The premise was good, two people who met through an online dating site and exchanged messages. However, the execution of the premise could have been better. It may have something to do with it being so short, as it is the first in the serial (that's another thing I don't like about it, there was nothing in the blurb to say it is part 1 of a continued story. I thought Book 1 simply means book 1 of a series of interconnected stories). It could also use a good editor as there were some scenes that the author referred to the wrong character's names. I was able to figure out who she meant, but, I shouldn't have to if she had used the correct character name to begin with.
I rarely give such a low rating, but this book had several issues. First, it was the beginning of a serial and had no warning that it wasn't a complete story in the blurb. Second, the heroine was immature and unlikable. I actually hoped that the hero would fall for his doctor and she was the true heroine. Third, the cliffhanger ending occurred before the hero and heroine ever actually met in person.
I'll settle for Mrs. Right Now,"I said, before quickly amending myself. "Or, in my case, Mrs. Right When I Get Back Home!"
This book was one of the many freebies I decided to download because of the mouthwatering cover. Yes, I know! I like alpha males, and I'm a "cover slut".
Freebie aside, I found the plot creative and very intriguing. I've ended the book wanting more, and I have just bought the entire book collection so I can finish the story.
Luke is a navy seal away from home, that feels lonely and would like to have someone waiting for him stateside. Juliet is just bored with her like when she stumbled on to a military dating site. They become penpals and their relationship is quite interesting if not somewhat fast.
The book is a novella, and we don't have enough time to learn all that much about the characters, but what has been presented on this first book, is enough to have me liking them both up until now.
I wish the author had created a more believable time frame into their growing feelings for each other and their relationships, but this is fiction and that's how it usually happens on novellas.
I find the writing of this book fresh and somewhat creative and It has piqued my interest enough to have me keep going.
I have a few warnings though to make:
It is one of those series with huge cliffhangers When I decided to buy the rest of the books, I found out that I must buy the bundle, because there was no book three separated from the box collection. Which makes no sense to anyone buy book one and book two if they will need eventually to buy the entire collection. You may read this book because you are intrigue by a penpal romance; you should read this book if you like military men; you must read this book if you are ready for something out of the ordinary type of read! This review was originally posted on More Books Than Livros
I love me a man in uniform and this cover...hello hotness! But there was something about the first installment of Irresistible Seal that fell a touch flat for me. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it because I did, I was just hoping for a touch more.
I liked Juliet and hew backbone of steel. Through no fault of her own she finds herself in a less than ideal circumstance and rather lonely. After a mishap she finds herself intrigued my the military men on her screen. Enter Luke Carter. He's got a heart as big as the weight he carries on his shoulders. When he gets a message from Juliet he veers between interest and skepticism. She's too good to be true right? Flirty, sexy, smart and honest....Their relationship escalates quickly despite them not being able to communicate that often (extenuating circumstances and all that). And, for me, that was what was missing- I wanted more of the bonding between them...it was message, message, time in between, message, message- I think I'm in love....
The events that led to Luke's tough decision and Juliet's hurt feelings had my heart pounding. My mind was spinning as fast as Juliet's and I just had to know what the outcome would be. Irresistible Seal was a good set up for the second book in the series and I'm hoping the next book will pick up where this one left off...
i was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review *possible spoilers*
Luke is a HOT but lonely navy seal. He is ready to find love or at least a constant companion to come home to when he heads back to the states. So he turns to the internet and makes himself a profile on a military dating base.
Juliet is a headstrong woman out to put her career first even though her overbearing father seems to want to control it. She doesnt have time for relationships, until one night she is lonely and decides to do a bit of shopping. Instead, she finds herself on the same military dating website as Luke. Sparks seem to fly between the two of them as each email they send brings them closer to each other.
when luke ends up in an accident and heads home early, he feels that his accident will send Juliet running for the hills so he puts off meeting her, but shes determined to get to her Seal no matter what.
this is by far shaping up to be one of my favorite stories from her and thats saying allot. You cant help but feel every emotion that these two go through so far and they havent even met yet. I cant wait to read the next installments. this does leave you on a cliffhanger.
Amanda does a fantastic job drawing you in from the beginning. I cannot wait to read the next one.
Lonely SEAL, Luke, overseas wishing he had someone waiting for him at home. His mom died when he was young and his dad is not much of a dad. He went into the Navy as soon as he turned 18 and became a SEAL as soon as he was eligible to. He signs up for a military online dating service but luck is not on his side so far. Finally, after many duds, he gets a reply that makes his heart stop. This girl...can she be real?
Juliet has just been forced to move to LA by her father and knows absolutely no one. One night she's a little toasted on wine and sets up an online profile after stumbling on the website. After browsing a bit, she stumbles upon Luke just as she's about to give up. It's like electricity...could he be real though, she messages him immediately and dreams of him once she goes to bed.
After a few messages, they become more sporadic and she's getting worried about him. Decisions need to be made before they go any further, can she handle him being in danger overseas and her not being able to know for sure? Will anything happen to Luke before they even get to meet?
This was my second book into the world of military romances. Luke is finding himself lonely and frustrated, wanting more than just a one night stand. With his impending leave back to the states he thought he might meet someone. So he goes on a military site militarymates. Thinking he could possibly find someone to talk to. What he found was something he wanted to find more about. Juliet was struggling with herself. Her father seemed to control every aspect of her life, and all she did was work. She come across the website one night, and got on. Once she started talking to the sexy Navy SEAL, she could hardly wait to get his next message. Both Luke and Juliet were hooked. An unfortunate accident, had forced Luke into treatment & therapy. Now he's coming back home, and he wants to see Juliet. Luke was so hot! I found myself just as excited waiting for the messages in Juliet's inbox as she was. The time he was out in the field, and couldn't talk I could feel Juliet's disappointment. I know this is going to be one of my favourite series. I'm so excited for book two!
I was super excited about this book with Luke being a SEAL and all. I love military stories and I thought that one where they met from an online dating site would be fun but I was disappointed. The emails between them were super cheesy until Luke started explaining his past but that seemed really strange on the third or fourth email to do. Luke's part of the story was definitely my favorite story with him and his team, I like the connection he seemed to have with them. Juliet I didn't like much at all, she just complained about her job and then fell in love with him after a couple of emails. A lot of things happened which is impressive since this book is so short but I think that both characters deserved more time to grow on the readers. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Alisha
Luke Carter is an Irresistible SEAL and he is stationed in the Far East and lonely. Juliet Morgan is working in a job arranged by her father in Los Angeles, living in an apartment she hates and lonely too. Luke has his profile on a military dating site and Juliet stumbles on it and they start to correspond.
They feel a real connection until Luke is wounded and coming home and he decides he doesn't want Juliet to meet him when he is not at his best and this is the cliff hanger where the first part of the story ends. What a letdown!
I received a copy of Irresistible SEAL, Book 1 for an author promotion site offering free books.
If you can imagine a full novel, the first quarter of the book sets the scene, introduces the characters and fills you in on their background. That's exactly what happens in Irresistible Seal, Book One. This is a nice easy read that introduces us to two likeable characters and their desire to be wanted.
One thing about this book, that was a bit of a bug bear, is that it doesn't tell you that it ends on a cliffhanger and it's part of a series of one book. Not, as I thought, the first book in a series of books about fellow Navy Seals. It's short, so I would have preferred just one book about them.
Juliet had a high powered job in Manhattan, a placed that she loved. But then she's dragged from there to the outskirts of LA by her overbearing father. Cheesed off at her change of circumstances, she decides that retail therapy is her only solution. There she stumbles on a dating site for overseas soldiers. I suppose it's more of a pen pal kind of thing, but with hope of something more solid as they get to know each other. Hopefully, even meeting each other one day.
Luke has devoted 12 years to the Navy Seals and longs for something more. His brothers in arms have girlfriends, wives, kids and he felt like he was really starting to miss out on something to look forward to. He puts his picture, shirtless, muscled and rugged looking in the midday sun, up on the MilitaryMates website. Maybe someone out there is looking for someone to talk to, just like him.
Juliet finds the site after a misspelt search and spies Luke. He's hot and exactly what she's looking for. So they start up a relationship, online. You have to remember, he can only reply when he gets the chance and isn't under enemy fire. Messages go back and forth and they finally admit that the other appears in their dreams on an almost nightly basis. But one day, something goes horribly wrong. A soldier gets killed and Luke's leg is so badly injured that, although the surgeon managed to save it, there is a lot of nerve damage. That and he lost two toes, so unless he can regain control of his leg, his life as a Navy Seal are well and truly over.
He tells Juliet that he's coming home and he'll only be half an hour away from her. Juliet is both nervous and excited at the prospect of meeting the man she has fallen in love with. But then comes the kicker... He doesn't want to see her. Or more to the fact, he doesn't want her to see him as half a man. So he tells her to stay away.
It is killing her inside, but she can't do anything but abide by his wishes. Are they destined to meet, or will this be the end of their romance, before it even got started.
I received this copy via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.
I have removed a star on principle because this is not Book One but rather Part One of a four part serial and no where does it state that. Without spoilers, it ends on a huge cliffhanger which will definitely make readers want the next one if they're invested in the characters/story. My problem is not with its being a serial, but with the fact that it's not clear it is one. At a guess based on my copy, the entire serial is about 300-350pgs, the size of a long-ish novel.
Overall the writing and plot are good. There are some careless errors (describing a character as "sturdy and stocky" and then "scrawny and wiry" in the space of two pages or calling a character two different names over two paragraphs) which should really have been edited.
The chapters told from Luke's point of view were more solid than those from Juliet's in my opinion. I can't speak the factual accuracy of combat etc, but nothing stood out as unrealistic. Also from his POV I could see far more falling for someone "back home" when he was overseas and in danger. Juliet's falling for Luke I found a little less realistic. Some messages between the two were shown to the reader, others were just mentioned in passing... maybe if more of those were also in the book.
Juliet improved during the story, but initially came across as whiny, petty and extremely immature for a thirty year old woman. So much so that I re-read the sentence twice where it said she was six years older than her 24 year old supervisor to make sure I'd read it right.
I liked this story. I liked and am invested enough that I will read the others (though more for Luke's sake than Juliet's). I do hope though that Juliet's character continues to grow and I am still annoyed about the cliffhanger ending. Thanks to Booksprout for my copy of this book. I have chosen to leave a review.
Irresistible SEAL Book 1 By:Amanda Heartley Wonderful 1st Installment of A Promising Series! Wow! What an amazing beginning! Yes, This ENDS in a cliffhanger, but it's so worth reading! This 1st Installment is a clean, well written Romance between a Navy Seal, stationed overseas, & a financial data analyst in L.A. dating online when tragedy strikes & forces them to make choices... Even though I already own Amanda Heartley's "Irresistible SEAL Book 1: A Navy SEAL Romance," I'm reviewing as an ARC via Booksprout; I thoroughly enjoyed this book, & find Amanda to be a talented writer. I'm looking forward to the next installment of this series. I definitely recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given! Until next time... Happy Reading!
I got this book a) because it was free b) from an author being introduced site c) the cover was sooo hunky d) it was about the military and I am an Army Brat. I was certainly enjoying the story when it stopped. I was reading and turned the page and realized the author cut it off! Boy, was I upset then and still am.
Then I began to think. Give them half a book in the guise of a full story, and maybe they will buy the second half to find out more about the couple and how their story ends. The light bulb went off and I realized this is just another marketing strategy!
The selling blurb says, "Although he’s only an hour away from Juliet, in his mind everything’s changed and his pride gets in the way of the love, passion, and happiness they both so desperately crave. Can Juliet break down the walls of this irresistible SEAL, or are they both destined to a life of loneliness? "
I don't know if Juliet can "break down the walls of this irresistible SEAL" because the book isn't finished!! What a disappointment...all to sell more books. Well, not to this reader!
I gave it 3 stars for the story, plot, and characters. It was well written, kept me focused and entertained. Really, it is a good half a book, but you don't read just a half book, you want the whole thing -- even if it is a freebie!
This first installment of Irresistible SEAL left me impatiently waiting for the next one. We get to know Luke, an active duty Navy SEAL stationed in the Middle East, and Juliet, banished by her dad to LA to a job with a sleazy Asian import company. They're both lonely and looking for some companionship and find each other online through MilitaryMates.com. They start writing each other and quickly form a connection. Juliet and Luke both wonder if they'll ever get to meet in person as the days wear on between their messages. At the end, though, Luke is finally heading stateside and Juliet is so excited to finally get to meet him. Unfortunately, though, the reason he's heading back to the US is because he has to rest and recuperate at the VA Hospital in Burbank, after what happened to him during his last mission.
I can already tell that I love both Luke and Juliet and can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Luke is on a mission in Afghanistan and as he feels lonely, he sets an account on MilitaryMates-com and starts using it. Juliet is working as an accountant in a company in LA. She is not very happy there, mostly because it was her father’s idea. She is alone there, she doesn’t have any friends yet. That is the reason why she set an account on MilitaryMates-com and starts using it. The first part of the story tells us about the characters and how they meet online. I like the descriptions of Luke living in the desert and of their missions. I’m not very fond of this serial stories but I have to say that Amanda’s stories are worth the wait. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
This is steamy, intense and dramatic. Luke is tough, stubborn, stoic and charming, and he suffers from PTSD. Juliet is timid, determined and caring. First contact was through a dating app while he was out of the country. After being injured, Luke goes back to the states, but won't let Juliet visit. So she takes it upon herself to go to him. They end up living together, but a few twists have them on shaky ground. The storyline is tough and heartbreaking, they go through some rough times, and have some unwanted outside interference. The writing ebbs and flows, sometimes there is too much detail, but it's still a good read.

Juliet was sent to LA as a junior accountant at a law firm that her father talked a friend into doing for him. He wanted her across country away from his current love interest. Juliet is doing a search for clothing when she somehow mistakenly did something wrong in her search engine and wound up on a site devoted to military men. Then a tiny box pops up with militarymatch.com. She signs up and discovers a Navy Seal named Luke and they correspond. Life for Juliet got a little bit complicated. Part one is fantastic and gets you hooked into the storyline. Fantastic storyline.

This was a good start to Luke and Juliette's story. I am not a big fan of serials or very short novellas though. I wish I could read the entire story at once. There was enough drama and the start of a romance in this part. I look forward to continuing their story in the next part. Luke and Juliette start a romance online via a military dating website. The two of them are attracted to each other based on the photos and profile. They don't meet in person yet and he gets injured in the line of duty. I wonder what it will be like when they do finally meet. I will continue the serials to find out.
The story is simple and just describes how two people meet on an online service for military men to find someone to write to. A man who knew nothing but war since he left highschool, a woman who leads a fairly priviliged life. Somehow it sparks between them and they become fast friends online. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Knowing that there are more books I saw this as the introduction to the story. In itself sweet, but nothing special
A fantastic beginning to the series. It's well written with strong characters and a story described so real, you feel you're there. The author brings danger, twists and turns and flows the story quickly and smoothly.Luke and Juliet meet on MilitaryMates.com and quickly form a connection. Both have hot and steamy dreams about each other .. both anxious to meet in person .. until the worst happens. Warning, this does end in a cliffhanger. I loved reading this book and am looking forward to the next book. Highly recommend reading.
This is the beginning of a 4 part series about Luke Carter, A Navy SEAL and Juliet Morgan, a woman in finance working in LA. She and Luke meet on an online military dating site and have been corresponding for over a month but she feels she has fallen in love with the SEAL. This was a quick easy read, one that once you start it is hard to put down. I love the characters so far and can't wait to read the next book.

What a shame. Our guys come back and forget that we care and want to be there for them. I don't know why they want us to not see them and help as much as we can. Maybe some would help to much and others not so much. I hope that this couple will come together soon and see that it does not matter. It's the feelings that do. I received a free review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
This one is a short pleasurable read that easily engaged me from the start. I found that the characters of Luke and Juliet were well written complex characters that were easily relatable. I quickly became ingrossed in this unique online dating story line. The whole premise was fun and engaging. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to what the rest of the series will bring.

Quick read but definitely has me wanting more. Juliet is sent to work and live in LA by her unloving father (she was living in NYC). She's unhappy and starts stumbling around on the internet when she comes across a website of hot military men and it's a dating website. She sees a listing by Luke and responds. They start writing to each other and things are getting steamy.
The story was excellent, but left you hanging, which I hate.
Following a service member on deployment overseas, lonely, he signs up for a military members dating site. After a few years he gets an answer, and they start a long distance relationship. When he is severely injured in combat he is evacuated to the States, to L.A. That's where the story leaves you hanging.😠
Not a bad story but the fact that its short and split into four books is annoying. The story felt rushed. Other than that the writing was good and the story was engaging. Ill buy the bundle in order to get the whole story but its frustrating when author make novellas out of a novel just for more money.
I have never read a story by this author before but I am impressed. I really enjoyed reading about Juliet and Luke. The story was well written and flowed seemlessly. I look forward to reading the next book in this series to see what happens when Juliet and Luke finally meet!!
