Right off the bat I can tell you that is really a sweet romance story. And both Riordan and Samantha will keep you turning these pages with their wit and banter. It was laugh out loud explosive and I loved it. They thoroughly entertained me.
I absolutely love Audra North's style and voice. The book was easy and flowed nicely. The story was developed nicely and put together with her well defined characters made for a very entertaining afternoon read today!

"What? What could it possibly cost you? You, of all the people , who tracks every bit of affection like a miser with his gold?
"That's exactly what it'll cost me ! Affection ! Love! You've taken it ! "

Really cute love story. Both Samantha and Riordan.are such pleasant characters. The story line was simple and nothing out of the ordinary, but it's the kind of story that leaves you with a smile on your face.

Samantha is on a mission to Ireland. She tries to find her grandmother's lost necklace, necklace that was buried under a tree by a very young Gram. Finding the necklace was her grandmother's only wish and Sam tries to accomplish Gram's goal. Not only the piece of jewelry is important, but Sam also tries to find her roots .
Now the current homeowner of grandma's house is Riordan Faraday, a morosely painter who shuts Sam down from the start. So our hero's only option is to dig the backyard at night. Of course, she gets caught but that doesn't put an end o her actions. Sam is very stubborn , persistent and she easily accepts when Riordan asked her to accompany his mother in different activities. And from this point things start to evolve.
But Riordan is ...difficult to deal with. He strongly believes that nothing comes for free. Not even love and affection..

Pushing Her Luck by Audra North was a really entertaining read.

As this author was new to me I had no idea what to expect when I started reading.

What I found was a well developed writing style and very interesting characters. I believe Ms. North captured the leading characters Samantha and Riordan perfectly.

As a reader I could feel the Riordan’s annoyance at the disturbing of his working as well as all other aspects that make him the artist that he is supposed to be.

And Samantha was just funny bordering nerve-racking - at least from Riordan’s PoV – and I could easy relate to this feelings. She was really PUSHING HER LUCK #laughing

The banter between the characters is really entertaining and carries the story well. You can not help but hope that they will have their HEA.

If this is the any indication of her writing style I will surly pick up another book by this author at any time.

I enjoyed this. The writing was excellent, and it really allowed you into the thoughts and impressions of the characters. You understand why Riordan thinks Sam is annoying, she IS annoying. At times, maybe a little over the top, but her heart is in the right place. And, as a reader you are allowed to see this while also seeing why he would have issues with it at first.

Sam is looking for a direction in her life after doing things the way her grandmother wanted. Riordan is looking for his direction and hasn't quite figured out that the reason he is not able to paint is that he has completely stifled himself in the rest of his life.

The relationship is slow burn, with both of them acknowledging they are attracted to the other, but both completely unwilling to do anything about it.

I enjoyed this. I have read other things by this author, and I have enjoyed them as well. I recommend this one.

Pushing Her Luck is a great story of two people finding love and themselves in a place/situation they never thought they would.

Samantha Meyer is an heiress who had just lost her grandmother - the only family she has ever known. now, she has to decide what to do with her life, if going to work in her late grandmother's organization in New Jersey or something else. Deep in her heart, Sam knows she doesn't want to be the chairman of this great company, she wants to more for her life, not a work who consumes every free time of her life, something meaningful 9like what her Gram did), but also something that would allow her to have a life of her own.

In this quest to find herself and also her family roots, she goes to Ireland to search for a necklace that was very dear to her grandmother that was left buried in her old home there. And that leads her to the doorsteps of Riordan Faraday, our grumpy, surly hero. =)

Riordan is a painter/art teacher, who has been taking care of his mother and brother since his alcoholic father deserted their family. And he is tired of it. He feels like he has no time for himself and can't see a way to move on with his life, because in his head, his mom needs constant care and the only way for him to be loved by his relatives is if he does something for them. He doesn't believe in freely given love or affection. Yes, the poor thing has huge childhood traumas.

When Sam enters his life, he can't believe how someone can give so much love and affection to people she barely know and not expect nothing in return. She brightens his life so much that he become attracted to that light, to her. Sam in the other hand, is attracted to Riordan too. She sees right away that he needs someone to take care of him, to love him for who he is, and also she realizes that he can also be this rock she needs so much in her life.

They're attracted to each other from the start, their banter and interactions are humorous and entertaining, their romance is very sexy and heartfelt. I liked how the secondary characters played a good part in helping Sam and Riordan to find their HEA, but in no way overshadow the romance in the story.

If you're looking for a lighthearted romance you have here a great option and I'm definitely reading the next books in this series.

I found this one to be a sweet and endearing read. It didn't take me long to finish, but left me with a smile on my face.
Riordan Faraday has been left jaded and bitter about his life. He has given up a lot for his family, but it has cost him. He is just living his average life when the American Samantha Meyer shows up on his doorstep asking to dig around. Little did he know, she'd end up digging in more than his garden.
Sam and Riordan's relationship was a humorous and sweet read with a little bit of sexy spice to make it interesting. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to my fellow romance fans or anyone looking for a short HEA read.

Sometimes this book whore just needs a really good sweet romance with a side of funny, characters that you can’t help but love and a storyline that is quick enough to read in an afternoon relaxing. I haven’t read anything by Ms. North prior to this but I will same that her writing has impressed me enough to go check out not only her other books but when more is released in this series as well. Pushing Her Luck was at times perfectly titled because when you read about some of the things that Samantha does you can’t help but on one hand understand Riordan’s reactions and on the other picture them happening and encouraging her even more. Over all Pushing Her Luck for this book whore was a lucky find and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

A quick but disappointing read. I usually find Audra North's romances to be gorgeously nuanced with sexy, intriguing characters but this one left me flat. Mostly because Sam really annoyed me with her OMG-I'm-an-heiress-but-I-don't-know-what-I-wanna-do-poor-me behavior.

After losing her beloved grandmother, Sam inherits $20 million dollars and is expected to take over her grandmother's position at the company she founded after immigrating to the U.S. from Ireland. But the company needs to run itself because Sam is instead fixated on a story her grandmother told about losing a family necklace in the yard of their home in Ireland. So Sam decides she needs to put off the company and go to Ireland to find this necklace.

At this point, I wanted to know if the necklace was so important to her grandmother, then why didn't her wealthy grandmother go back and find it herself? Oh right, plot device.

Turns out cranky, emotionally stifled but hot artist Riordan now owns Sam's grandmother's house. Sam shows up on his doorstep unannounced but with a shovel. She is baffled when he refuses her entry. Mind you, I don't have issues stemming from an abusive alcoholic father or depressed mother like Riordan does, but I would have totally said no to Sam, too. #Callfirst

So multimillionaire Sam decides the best course of action is to dig in Riordan's yard at night and then sleep in her car. #Justbuythedamnhouse #Orametaldetector #Sheesh

Riordan discovers a sick Sam digging in the night and, instead of calling the cops, nurses his intruder back to health. He tells her she can dig in his garden in exchange for acting as a paid companion to his mom.

Sam really drove me nuts and I could never understand why Riordan was attracted to her, much less loving her.

This is a super sweet and funny read, I really enjoyed it!

Samantha “Sam” Meyer’s grandmother recently passed away and Sam has made it her mission to find a necklace that was once lost in her grandmothers backyard in Ireland. Sam has flown to Ireland and shown up at her grandmothers old house hoping to be allowed to dig for the necklace only to be called crazy by the current homeowner, Riordan Faraday. Riordan is an artist who doesn’t have time to deal with much other than his teaching, mother, and getting his paintings finished in time to submit them to an art show – until the crazy American shows up at this door wanting to dig up his garden. Sam doesn’t let Riordan’s grumpy nature deter her and decides to dig during the night so that he doesn’t know, only it rains and she winds up with a bad cold prompting Riordan to nurse her back to health. Riordan quickly realizes that he likes Sam more than he should and strikes up a deal with her – take care of his mother in exchange for the right to dig his yard during the day time. Once Sam begins staying with Riordan the sparks fly and their relationship takes a whole new turn.

I really love this authors writing style, she does an excellent job of showing the characters personality and emotion. I found myself laughing out loud more than once, Sam is absolutely hilarious and Riordan’s responses to her are even funnier. Definitely a page turner and I look forward to reading more from this author!

Cute. Flirty. Fun. Sam had her head in a good place until she runs into Riordan. Cranky, stick in the mud, artist with deadlines to meet and a sexy Irish brogue.

He sees Sam as "One of those Americans". Sam just want a few answers to move on with life. I found both characters to rich and engaging. They pulled off their perspective roles excellently.

Audra North did a good job in making Riordan breathe the artist type. I could feel it in the words and see it in the actions. Sam had her own kind of depth going on. Both together gave me a moment. A moment when I decide that I must know what is going to come next. I look forward to more from this series.

Didn't finish after page 64. This book had some potential. The biggest problem was the writing. Specifically, the tedious, repetitive, over monologuing style of writing. This author does something I can't stand. Where, for the majority of the beginning of the book, when either character has a sexual thought about the other, they immediately berate themselves for having that thought. Repeated over and over and over! So many authors do this. It's obnoxious. That's what I mean about being repetitive. It sounds something like this. First from riordans perspective: 'Sam is very pretty. Wait why am I thinking about that? I need to stop. She is nuts. So why can't I stop thinking about her? I need to stop thinking about her. She has the perfect body, face, etc. oh how I must stop thinking about her beauty". Get the picture? Then this is repeated one million times by both him and from sams perspective also, but about riordan. It makes me want to scream at the characters and say 'oh my gosh just let yourself think about the other!!! Think about sex and fantasize and never stop. Do it the whole day in fact!!!" I hate when the author lays everything out on the table too. Because of the dual perspective writings, and because of the fact that both characters constantly monologue about every detail of their life, repeating these same details of their life numerous times, and always tell us exactly how they feel and what they think about every little thing, there is no mystery. No intrigue. No reason to go on reading. I appreciate that the author was trying to make Sam out to be a quirky, stand out character. But she didn't quite achieve it. I just kept wanting more from Sam. I wanted her to be more interesting. I also like riordan and the way he is this grumpy, gruff artist. I like that and I wish the author would have kept more true to this personality. Make him more mysterious. Have him hold things back. I don't need every detail of his life or thoughts just laid out for me immediately. I wish he wasn't constantly monologuing about how much he wants Sam so immediately. I wish he was written more guarded. The author tells us he's guarded, but his thoughts are that of a generic male romance novel character. I just wish he wasn't so into Sam so immediately. Or, it's fine if he was but does he need to spend every page telling us his feelings about her and how he's trying to repress his feelings? The author just needed a lighter touch. Hold back! Just get rid of the lame 'I am interested in her/him but I need to stop myself from being interested. At least get rid of 90% of it. It's fine to a degree but not on every page!

Review:
It's always been the idea and the picture I've associated with 'writer's block' when it comes to artists: the grumpy, don't mess in my property or my things, and stay out of my way. Pushing Her Luck was the first novel I've read by Audra North and as a starter, it was both a delight and the infuriating read that made me want to reach in the story and choke Riordan for his flip floppy attitude and using his inability to come up with an inspiration for his next painting as an excuse to be rude and grumpy as all heck. Having recently lost her grandmother and promised her to go to Ireland and dig up an old necklace that she had buried as a child, Sam finds herself on Riordan's property and comes face to face with him and his infuriating attitude. The relationship between these two has been bumpy from the very beginning to say the least and the more time they spend together, the more they realize that they need each other: Sam teaches Riordan what love and stability means while Riordan shows Sam what passion and beauty feels like. With a combination of humour, drama, romance and those moments of passion that made me sit at the edge of my seat, Audra North has a way with words that truly captivated me from the very beginning, even with my frustrations. Pushing Her Luck is the type of novel that makes you appreciate the way a writer creates an appreciation, or an excitement, in their readers before giving them what they've wanted from the beginning - Audra North knew exactly how to keep her readers entranced until the very first kiss.

Riordan Faraday is not happy with how things are going. He's a painter with no inspiration, works as an art teacher, and his brother has just left him as the only one around to care for their needy, sometimes mentally unstable mother. He is typically always in a bad mood and doesn't seem to have much patience.
Samantha Meyer, "Sam", has just recently lost her Grandmother, leaving her to sit as Chairwoman for her company. Sam has always tried to do what her Grandmother preferred. Wanting to make her happy for all the sacrifices she made to take care of Sam. However she's unhappy, and restless. When pushed to make a decision, she tries to buy herself some additional time to think while fulfilling and old bucket list item for her Grandmother. Finding old heirloom necklace that her Grandmother buried and left in Ireland as a child.
Riordan now lives in the house that her Grandmother lived in as a girl. Sam shows up on his doorstep, wanting to dig around to find the necklace and is sent away by the grumpy painter who doesn't want to be disturbed. Riordan is surprised by Sam and doesn't quite understand how she makes him feel although he finds himself suddenly inspired artistically. Eventually, with the help of Riordan's neighbor and mother, Sam wedges her way into Riordan's life and heart.
I felt really bad for Sam the first couple of interactions with Riordan. He was definitely not so nice, although he is gorgeous! This book really took a long time for the couple to stop messing around and admit what was so obvious to everyone else. I don't think they even kissed till almost 50% in. The denial of feelings became a little too much for me at one point. You can only tell yourself that you don't like a person so many ways before we are all thinking "I get it." Other than that I enjoyed this story. The interaction with the neighbor, James, was sweet and consistent and needed to balance out the wishy-washiness of the main characters. Riordan's mother was also entertaining and another example of how Riordan's inability to make up his mind. Here, take my mother off my hands, no wait, now I'm mad she's not giving me attention. His views on the giving and receiving of love are skewed and he needs Sam to teach him the reality of love. Sam needs to discover want she really wants in life and to start making decisions based on what makes her happy. Once the couple got together this was a very sweet story and I am looking forward to checking out more books by this author. I absolutely recommend this story!

Pushing her Luck is the first book in the lucky in love series by Audra North. Audra North is a new author to me, though she is probably not new to many people. She has written over 20 books! I need to read more by her now. I had no idea this was part of a series. I thought it was going to be a standalone romance, but I loved it so, so much that I am beyond excited that we get to revisit this world. I am not sure who the book is going to be about, but I am pretty sure I will love it. Audra North has a way with characters and way of pulling on the readers heartstrings in a surprisingly strong way. This is a book that I went into expecting a light and fluffy read. And while it was a great fell- good romance, I would be lying if I said that I didn't get teary eyed once or twice while reading. This is a very special book- one that I really really loved.

The book is told in dual narrative between Riordan and Samantha. Samantha was like a breath of fresh air for me. I don't know what I was expecting (well, that is a lie, yes I do. I was expecting a typical character. You know, either very sweet, or very sassy, or some combination of both.) but Sam took me by surprise in the very best way. This girl is a whirlwind. She comes blowing into Riordan's life full force. She does not slow down for anything. She is so far from my personality in real life, but I couldn't help but love her instantly. She is kooky and more than a little crazy. And I do mean crazy, crazy, but she is also such a great person. I dare you not to smile when you are reading her scenes.

Riordan needed a whirlwind to blow into his life and shake things up. Nothing less would have broken through his walls. This guy has more than a few issues of his own, and I was completely in love with the way that Audra North dealt with them through the story. Their development and his progress in dealing with them was so natural. Nothing was forced. This book was truly a joy to read. It is the kind of book that makes me itch to pick up something else by this author because I want to see what she does with other characters. I was really impressed with Pushing Her Luck. It is a fun book with zany characters, a wonderful romance and lots of heart. You might even cry. (I did.) Pushing her Luck is one of my favorite books of 2016.

Are you looking for a funny, feel good romantic read? Then stop your search and pick up a copy of Pushing Her Luck by Audra North. This story has a little bit of everything; romance, heat, drama, and humor. The story takes place in Ireland, which makes for an interesting departure from the American landscape. The sexy cover is just the beginning!

Samantha Meyer recently inherited a lot of money from her late and beloved grandmother. She ends up on a journey to her family's homeland, to find the necklace that her grandmother buried when she was only ten years old. Once Sam attains her need to feel closer to her grandmother and fulfill her grandmother's last wish, she believes she will finally be able to return to New Jersey and take over the high level position left vacant by her grandmother. In the process of digging for the necklace, she meets the man of her dreams, Riordan Faraday, an artist and an art teacher. Their chemistry is instantaneous, even though it takes them a little while to acknowledge it.

Riordan is a good-looking grump who is in a painter's slump. Due to his upbringing, he truly believes that love can only be given if it is earned or bargained for. So as a result, he has trouble making friends and sustaining relationships. When Sam walks into his life he becomes a different person, as he realizes that he is actually lovable.

I truly enjoyed this book! I found Ms. North's writing style to be lively and easy to read. The characters are well-developed, interesting and fun to be around. I felt the connection between Samantha and Riordan almost immediately, and cheered for Riordan to come to his senses in order for he and Sam to be a couple. James Browne, a famous horticulturist and Riordan's neighbor, adds some depth to an already entertaining story. This is the first book in Ms. North's new Pushing Her Luck series, and I am looking forward to book two.

Pushing Her Luck is all about figuring out what it really is that you need, not what you think you need.

Samantha Meyer's grandmother has recently passed away leaving her as the heir to a financial cooporation that she isn't even sure she really wants for herself, but she's willing to take it because it was her grandmother's dream. Unfortunately for the company, her grandmother had another dream too and Samantha refuses to take over the company until she fulfills that dream. Find the necklace that her grandmother buried as a child. In Ireland.

Riordan Faraday [can I even begin to tell you how much I love that name?] owns the house that the necklace was buried behind. His private property and he's not about to let some strange American start digging up his lawn on a whim. He has enough troubles as it is dealing with his mother who is needier than a toddler and his painting which he can't finish because of his needy mother.

Insert some trespassing, some destruction of private property, Samantha is not about to let this grumpy old [okay he's not much older than her] Irishman tell her that she can't find this necklace.

It takes a little bit for the two of them to find their rhythm and even longer for Riordan to get on board with the idea of love being free, but I enjoyed every step of the ride. It didn't take more than a few hours to get through this book because I couldn't put it down and I just wanted to know more and more about their story. By the end of it you'll be praying they get their HEA though, there's no doubt about that.

Thanks to Netgalley and Audra North for my ARC

Who would let a stranger dig around your backyard even if you are asking nicely???
Riordan, an artist and Samantha, in between job met each other really early in the morning in Ireland. Samantha asking a permission to dig up the backyard. So he flat out told her 'NO'.
Samantha wanted to find her late grandmother's necklace before she jumped into CEO position in Meyer Corp.
Riordan lived in Samantha's grandmother's childhood house and she wanted to find a way to retrieve the necklace by asking Riordan if she could dig around his backyard.
But he wouldn't let her dig so she had to sneak around to at night to dig. After digging around for couple of nights, she was feeling ill and Riordan finds her digging around without his permission. Before he could kick her away, she faints in his arm.
She always heard from her grandmother how wonderful Irish people are and Riordan was only exception.. He was taking care of her when he knew he couldn't forget about Sam's face. He put her into work by having her be his mother's personal driver and etc. .
Sam was making friends with his mother and his next door neighbor. Sam was warming up to him as well.
Both falling for each other but both had deadline if they went into relationship..
She was getting close to her deadline and he also had a deadline for his painting.
Will both risk their luck and pursue each other.
This was fun read. I have read couple of books by this author and I enjoyed all her series so far and this one I enjoy reading as well.
I can't wait to read the next installment.

Pushing Her Luck is a fantastic name for this book. Samantha Meyer has the most amazing luck. She finds herself in Ireland, less than a year after losing her grandmother, searching for her long ago buried necklace.

She lost her mother shortly after her birth, and never knowing who her father is, she was raised by a wonderful, loving grandmother. But now that her grandmother – who was a successful business woman – is gone, Sam is expected to take the reins at the corporation and she’s reluctant.

After being denied access to dig in her grandma’s childhood home backyard, Sam decides to defy Riordan Faraday – the current owner – and keeps looking for the necklace.

Things escalate fast from that point; she gets sick, Riordan saves the day, they have a deal, and yes – they quickly fall in love.

However, everything in between is what makes the story so unique.

Riordan comes across as cold and aloof one minute and kind of angry yet tender the next. These character traits of his are what fuels his banter with Sam, what creates the tension and basically – they are what makes the story so much fun to read.

North’s style is light and fun. She throws humor in her writing, and the story’s emotions come across so beautifully – they create a flowing romance that make me feel I can’t wait for more.

Top everything I said so far with an unusual setting and an original plot – and we have a winner.

This one is definitely a “give it a chance and you won’t be disappointed” story.

Samantha is a woman on a mission. Go to Ireland, find her grandmother’s necklace at any cost, and fulfill her grandmother’s lifelong dream; then maybe Sam will be able to find herself in the process. Too bad Riordan is literally standing in her way of completing her mission.

This was cute, sweet, and quick novella that I had mixed emotions for. I loved Samantha, which is rare for me as I usually find the heroines either hard to connect to or downright annoying. Sam was quirky, down-to-earth, and genuinely cared about everyone she met. She might have been on the too trusting side but you cannot help but be drawn to her.

It was Riordan that drove me bonkers. Just because he is a sexy Irishman does not give him the right to be a whiny martyr the rest of his life. To me he had a woe-is-me aura that he could not shake until he loses what he never truly wanted in the first place. He believed that love is an exchange; heart for heart, tit for tat. Even at the end what he did for Sam, although amazing, still had the underlying fact his truth will always be his truth; love costs something. Despite his martyr-like behavior, I liked this book enough to want to read the next one in the series.

I was gifted a copy from the JeepDIva in exchange for an honest review. The opinions and ratings of this novella are my own.

How.

Fun.

What first struck me with this book was that all of Riordan's thoughts? I could hear his Irish tilt. Even without knowing he lived in Ireland, the way the words were laid out was that of someone with an Irish tongue, so good work, Ms. North!

After I was coming off my accent-high, we meet thousand-words-a-minute, Sam. She's come from America to ask if she can dig up his garden (only to later find out a garden is actually a yard) to look for a necklace that has been a family story for years and years.

I have to say, Sam certainly came across as naive and young when we, and Riordan, first met her, but it was her enthusiasm that ended up making her such a lovable character. When I see Riordan and Sam's bickering, I think of Leap Year -- fun with just enough simmering energy for the reader to know there is so much more under the surface.

Their banter is certainly what had the pages turning, and then it was Riordan and his semi-relationship with James that sealed the deal for me on this man. Definitely a fun, funny, story, and I cannot wait for the remaining books in the series!

Pushing Her Luck by Audra North is the story of Riordan Faraday and Samantha Meyer.
This was a funny, emotional read that I was glad to be able to read and review.

Riordan is struggling to take care of his mom and brother along with trying to Paint/Teach.
Sam is a heiress who has lost her grandmother and now she has no other family. Now Sam is facing a point that she wants to look into her life and do more with it. Also she wants to learn more about her grandmother/family and goes on a trip to Ireland. There she plan to look also for a necklace that her grandmother loved by was left buried at her old home place.
Sam meets Riordan when she goes looking for the Necklace and they are attracted to each other.
Their banner among each other and the secondary characters made this a more enjoyable book!

I was generously provided an arc in exchange for a honest review from Netgalley. Riordan Faraday just wants to finsh a painting but he ferls like he'll never get it done with hef needy mum always needing him and his brother Michael deciding he's not coming back from his vacation in Spain. Riordan would love to runaway but he needs to care for his mum snd instead oof being a painter working a job as a secondary school art teacher. Then comes a crazy American messing up his orderly life. Samantha Myers or Sam jyst wsnts to find her roots, her grandmother necklace she lost when she was a child and havra little adventure before going back to run her late grandmother company. But a snooty irshman will not let her search his yard for the necklace but she isnt giving up. Making up small lies and sneaking over to dig in the rain seem like great ideas till Riordan catches her and then they make a deal but neither expect to fall for each other. This was my first Audra North book but definitely not my last. This book was incredibly sweet and touching but also had its smoking hot moments!

This is one of those books to me that seems like it would be a dream come true. I have never been to Ireland, but hope to some day. The descriptions of the land and the people just seem amazing. To be a single woman brave enough to seek out my heritage and wind up staying with and being attracted to the man who is doing his best to not like or want you. Sam has now lost every family member she has when her grandma passes. Her grandma had long talked of growing up in Ireland and a necklace that she buried on her childhood property. With this being her last link to her grandma, Sam heads to Ireland to see if the property owner will let her search for the necklace. This is where she meets Riordan and he is less than friendly. But Sam perseveres and makes a deal with him. Little does she know that this deal might just change her life.

This story was like opening a present. I had no idea what I was getting as I had never read this author before, but wow was I happy with it when I opened it and read it! The characters are all so likable and real, which is a result of the strong writing skills of the author. Riordan and Samantha are the main characters, but the secondary characters add so much to the story and help you learn more about both Sam and Riordan. When two hearts are meant to be together, even if they are continents apart, fate will find a way. Samantha is hoping to fulfill a wish her late grandmother had and this means traveling to Ireland. I loved how she didn't back down, even when she seemed to be a little crazy when she met the owner of the house where her grandmother grew up. This story has a lot of lessons and contains not only a romance, but a family coming together, healing, and what love means.

Cute story!

It wasn't without its issues (what is Riordan going to say when she tells him she's worth $20 million, I wonder?) but if you can suspend belief and go with the flow, you're bound to have fun with this one. The back-and-forth between Sam and Riordan is what really made the book; that and all of Riordan's Irish-isms.

Too adorable!

Sam was more than a little flaky but it worked, for the most part. Riordan was tougher to like at times, though when we find out about his past it's hard to blame him. Together they're a fun mix--throw in a few quirky secondary characters, and you've got a fun little story!

Book two has got to be his brother Michael's story, yes? Sign me up--especially after he told his big brother to just get over his martyr complex already (because, yeah, he totally needed to)--I can already tell he's my kind of guy!

Pushing her luck was a fun, feel good afternoon read. Riordan & Sam thought they both knew what they wanted but it wasn't what they needed. It was so much fun watching Riordan changing from a cranky, jaded, bitter man due to dealing with his family giving up his lot in life to take care of them, to a totally different man when the quirky lovable Sam enters into his life. The banter between Riordan & Sam had me laughing at times & shaking my head. Riordan's neighbor James Browne was there at times to give his subtle advice when they both needed it.

Pushing Her Luck is the story of Riordan Faraday and Samantha Meyer. He's a surly painter/teacher and she's the American searching for a long lost family heirloom. Together they make sparks that have the potential to ignite both their lives. There's a whole lot of sexual tension going on here.

Audra North has an easy, entertaining writing style, and the banter between these two characters is very satisfying. It will put a smile on your face because you know right where all that banter is going to lead them.

This is a very sweet novella and perfect for an afternoon read when you don't want something too heavy.

A brooding Irishman who teaches grade school art lives in her grandmother's childhood home. Sam flies to Ireland to find a long lost necklace buried by her grandmother during a treasure game. What she finds is Riordan, in all his sexy irritating ways, blocking her from finding the jewelry. Sam resorts to a bit of craziness to get her way. I found the characters extremely likable with a deep love of family, although how they show it is very different. With a bit of Irish brogue and a few authentic Irish names, I feel North captured the true feeling of being in Ireland. My copy was given by the author for my honest review.
