Cedwig: People in the Vines

Rate this book
"Ancient hostility and lurking terror, fierce love and tentative trust. Cedwig invites readers into the dense jungle of a realm that finds two separate cultures on the sharp edge of a struggle that will expose the root of a centuries-old fear with hope in the new. But not everyone is so quick to embrace the results. Divine's novel weds the peril of the unknown with the glory of love, and the story between will determine the fate of not one but two races." M.J. Neal, Author of Dreamer

What would you do, if the things that went bump in the night were suddenly as real to you as life itself?

My name is Freia, and I believe in phantoms.

A part of the expedition from the plains, my family and I have come to a land where no human has stepped in over a century.

But we are not alone.

This land is home to the druids, creatures of legend that wiped out all traces of humanity in the deserts, the hills, and even at sea—creatures that should not be real.

I hear their voices, in the night. I feel their eyes, watching me.

We are not alone.

Rani Divine is a self-proclaimed geek and "writerologist." Since she began her writing career with Telekinetic (Xlibris, 2013), she's been rapid-fire writing science-fiction and fantasy novels, usually finishing two each year (though they take a little longer to reach the public). In her spare time (what little there is of it), she's learning to speak Russian and studying the art of language as a whole.

My first book of Rani Divine's was Coetir and I really thought that was an amazing read. But when I got Cedwig in my Indie Book Connect box, my mind was blown! This story is incredible! I fell in love with the characters from the very first chapter and LOVED the strong female lead. Rani is great when it comes to that! If you love YA fantasy, Rani Divine NEEDS to be in your TBR pile!

This book was awesome! I love Rani Divine's druids. She has a completely unique ability to make these incredible worlds that you never would have imagined come to life in a way that you can't imagine being without them. Thanks, Indie Book Connect, for connecting me with this author. I'm a fan!

Rani Divine is a master when it comes to transporting her readers to vivid new worlds and Cedwig is no exception. Freia, the main character, is a strong female presence that proves that female leads do not need to be weak and whimpering to be believable and captivating. The druid novels can each be read as a standalone, making it so that the reader can start with any book within the series. Be ready to lose yourself in a new world where you will never want to come home again.
