F.G. Adams writes contemporary and paranormal romance about sexy alpha heroes and feisty-mouthed heroines. The wonder twins forming F.G. enjoy a healthy obsession of reading that started at a young age. Their books reflect an avid imagination that was cultivated by their grandmother who taught them the mind has no limits and to use both hands when reaching for the stars. Partners in writing, they both thrive on creating unique storylines for you, the reader to enjoy. When not writing, you can find them on a beach with their significant other enjoying the waves or riding a Harley on a country road somewhere in the USA.
FIVE STARS F.G. Adams has knocked it out of the park again with this story. This is book 2 in the This is our Life series and it could totally be a stand alone. There isn't much if any overlap from the first book. In this one we follow Keagan Fontneau as he is on a job trying to find and break up a ring of human trafficking. His travels lead him to a motel/restaurant owned by a friend of his. Riding out a hurricane. In walks a blast from the past. The girl he was best friends with in high school and the only girl who has ever had his heart. Jocelyn Blackwood not allowed to date in high school because of her strict punishing father. Befriends Keagan Fontneau and they are inseperable until Jocelyns sister takes off never to be heard from. Being the oldest at home her fathers attention is turned to her and she becomes a recluse and hides from most everyone to avoid the negative attention from her father. After graduation Jocelyn moves away to go to college and she gets a degrees and becomes a Psychologist. After high school Keagan goes into the Army and they lose contact with each other. On her way to a college reunion with a friend, Katrina, Jocelyn finds herself trapped in a hurricane and they cannot possibly travel any farther. They find a motel/restraunt and pull in and luck out by getting the last room available. After hot showers and drying out her and her friend go to the bar to find some food and Jocelyn feels as if shes being watched. Keagan cannot believe his eyes when Jocelyn walks into the bar. After all these years and there she is. After dinner and a couple drinks. Jocelyn and Katrina walk over to a table with two men and they sit and have a few more drinks. Jocelyn finds herself drawn to the mans eyes. She doesnt know why but they remind her of someone she knew. This story follows Jocelyn as she is trying to find out why a set of twins who lost their father not too long ago have taken a sudden decline in school and life. And it follows Keagan as he is trying to track down the leaders of a human trafficking ring and find a baby that was kidnapped 2 weeks prior. After they all leave the motel and go on their seperate ways Keagan finds ways to track down Jocelyn and make things right. Now all they need is to find trust in each other and work through everything. The end of this book is DEFINATELY a feel good ending. Can't wait to see where F.G. Adams goes in book 3.
In this second book of the series, we find out some background on Keagan. I will tell you straight up I was on the edge of my futon reading, I was worried I was going to need to turn the lights on in the bedroom as I read this book. Once I hit chapter one, I went back in time to when Keagan was in High School. How did he meet Jocelyn Blackwood? What happened in High School that caused Keagan to lose his best friend? Who was his best friend? One of my favorite parts of this book so far has been when Keagan and his parents walked into the recruiter's office. He is looking at how muscled the military member is and it says simply. "He could literally squash me like a bug. For a brief moment, I was intimidated." That was something that made me smile and I couldn't stop as we go through Keagan's memory. This book took me from smiling to literally ready to cry in just a few sentences. Who is Gunner? Who are the Phantom Prophets MC? What happened with Fallyn? What are we seeing word about her just 'disappearing'? What line of work does Jocelyn go into after she graduates from college? Are there truly such things as eighteen hundred thread count sheets? Reading about Jocelyn and Keagan's jaunt to the local pizza place and how she eats her pizza, with Keagan's observation about it was a fun bit to read. When Hurricane Georgia hits Florida, what happens? The book truly got interesting at that point. One of the most poignant things in this book was Jocelyn in her own head, us getting to know her as we read. "Little by little, I'm learning never to take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway." It started answering a lot of questions for me. Finally seeing how they get together, truly makes me happy. I'm going to say no more, because if I do, spoilers will happen. Happy reading!

Keagan Fontneau gave up on life after returning wounded from his last tour of duty Jocelyn Blackwood only exists to protect those who can’t help themselves He left Lakeview on a mission She ran from the haunting memories He remembers her smile She never forgot him He’s in business with danger She’s in the wrong place at the right time
This is a very powerful story that brings the past and the future into one place.
Starting with a special relationship in high school Keagan and Jocelyn have a special bond that neither can deny.
But Jocelyn has hidden secrets within her family that she cannot put aside and it changes her perspective on life, Keagan wants the Jocelyn that he fell for in the beginning and so he walks away and joins the army, there he is thrown into war and pain and injury.
After years of separation and life changing events fate brings them back together. Unfortunately time has changed them both and Keagan is involved in some dangerous things that could effect them both.
This is a beautiful story of second chances and teenage love that grows into a beautiful bond that should not be broken through time and danger.
This is a very emotionally charged story that is told from both Keagan's and Jocelyn's point of views, which I found to be very interesting to see both sides.
I love the way that the talented F.G. Adams can bring romance and danger into a story that will keep you in the edge of your seat.
You will find yourself laughing, crying and hoping for the fates to come together to allow Keagan and Jocelyn the happiness that they deserve
This is book two in a amazing series that I would definitely recommend for everyone as it has something for everyone within the pages of this well written story.
FG Adams has done it again. She sent me on an emotional ride, I was trying to guess what would happen next and I'm not ashamed to say I was wrong. I have read this book a few times now and I have always found something new to love. She is an amazing storyteller and her books always play like a movie as I read them.
Keagan and Jocelyn meet in high school. He sees the beautiful young woman she tries to hide. The form a bond that is building up into more then a friendship. They come from different worlds. His family is loving and supportive, her family is dominated by her father. When Jocelyn's sister just disappears and no one will tell her what has happened she goes into a depression. Keagan tries everything to get that spark back into her eyes. But she was to late he already left for boot camp. Now years later their paths cross at a motel in a storm. They both have lived through a lot and are still fighting the demons of the past. When you experience the connection like that you expect that man to be there the next day especially if you have a past, that wasn't the case with them. Keagan has a mission and it has to come first. Fate has a way of throwing them together. When Keagan's mission starts to involve Jocelyn's family, she must decide to fully trust him or loss him forever.
Keagan is book two in the This is Our Life series and each book is better than the last! I can't wait to see what happens with the next book! His first day at a new school, army brat Keagan falls head over heels in love with the forbidden, Jocelyn. She is younger, timid, and hiding a torturous home life. The two enter a friendship that runs deep, both in love, but too afraid to say the words. After her sister leaves, Jocelyn pulls into herself even further and pushes everyone out. Keagan is left watching his shell of a best friend go through the motions of life until he leaves to join the military and fulfill his dream. But years and distance did nothing to ease the pull he felt toward his Angel, Jocelyn. When the two reconnect, a storm is brewing and lightning strikes. Who knew it could strike twice? It's not often I actually enjoy as much backstory as Keagan entailed, but FG nailed it. It flowed from past to present and was just enough to fill in the blanks, but never too much. I fell into the book instantly, enjoying the flow and style of the writing. And the story line, holy cow. Talk about heart strings and tears. Broken souls and a second chance at love. Yes, please.
OMG. I love Keagan and his Cajun ascent. This is the second book in the series. I love how FG Adams started in the past and moved so smoothly to the present. Lots of action and keeped you waiting to see what happens next. I highly recommend Keagan to all my friends. Can't wait to see what happens in book 3
Keagan (This is Our Life Book 2) By: F. G. Adams 5 out of 5 stars
The story Keagan (This is Our Life Book 2) by F. G. Adams is a military romance. Keagan and Jocelyn have known each other since high school. Then a tragedy overcame Jocelyn and she backed away from Keagan and refused to speak with him. Fast forward and these two have found each other again at a motel waiting out a hurricane. Keagan is on a case for his employer and can’t reveal why he is there. When Jocelyn realizes that Keagan has left again she takes the option of going home and continuing her life. Except that is not what Keagan wants. With an atmosphere of evil surrounding Jocelyn and once she learns the truth of how her family is involved in the case Keagan is on, will she be able to recover? Once the smoke has cleared will Jocelyn and Keagan be able to finally be able to build their future together?
This book is wonderful! It is told from the POV of both Keagan and Jocelyn. The story is full of detail and flashbacks from Jocelyn. This helps build an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue. While the plot deals with the job that Keagan is working, the romance shines through for both him and Jocelyn. It is almost as if fate is taking them by the hand and leading them toward each other. The characters in this story are also a very good reason that the book works well. If you have read the first book in the series then you will no doubt recognize some of them as they are woven into this story. It is also important to note that the women in this series are strong and independent. While they show their compassionate side, they also have a side that will fight for what they believe in.
This story has adult language, it touches on the subject of human trafficking, and there are several steamy love scenes. I would recommend this book to anyone 18 years or older.
......Past and present taking you into a web of lies ,betrayal, smoke screens. The thing about the choices we make define us, a reflection in our life. Sometimes those decisions are not always best for everyone involved. I made a choice, to someone like Keegan it was a choice of betrayal.
Keegan and Jocelyn met in high school and they became fast friends. But when her sister Fallyn suddenly disappeared Jocelyn fell apart and into a deep depression. Keegan tried his best to help her but she did not want to be helped. It killed Keegan to loose her this way but he had to let her go, he was shipping off to the army. When I realized Keegan was shipping out today I flung myself into my car and floored it to the bus station. I saw it pulling out and I tried my best to get there to tell him good by but I missed it by minutes. Keegan's father came up behind me and hugged me and that comforted me. He said people come and go in and out of our lives. It is the impact they leave with us, that makes the difference. It is what we do with the knowledge that creates the ripples in the pond. As Keegan's father comforted me I actually heard what he was saying. I grasped onto everything he said and something shifted inside me telling me it was time to release the heartache and move forward.
Jocelyn Blackwood believes that lightning only strikes once.....until Keegan Fontneau. Keegan left Lakeview on a mission to serve his country. Jocelyn ran from Lakeview to escape her abusive father. Years down the road they meet up again and it's like time stood still for them. Will they be able to overcome all the heartache they caused each other and start over. This is another wonderful book my FG ADAMS. Janna Jones
This book is so incredible and I believe it is better than the first one. Keagan is HOT and just amazing. Keagan is a caring person who will always have Jocelyn Blackwood in his heart and soul. From the first time he laid eyes on her he couldn’t get her out of his mind. He tries to be a boyfriend to her when they are young but her dad doesn’t allow her to date so he takes what he can get and that is friends with the sweet angel he calls his own. The book left me craving more every time I had to put it down. It made my heart happy because it was just so genuine and so real. It was more true to life than a lot of stories I read and that made it special. Keagan and Jocelyn grew up to do what each wanted to do and was good at in their professions. Keagan was a true leader and has a lot of bad memories and just needs to find a way to put the past behind him. Jocelyn is doing her dream job helping kids and would do anything in the world to protect any of them. She often thinks back to her childhood and wishes she could do more to help so by making her life to help others makes her feel like she is contributing something to the world. Will she ever see Keagan again and will she fall back into his arms ever again? Read to find out and you will love the story as much as I did.
Keagan By F.G. Adams “Laugh at the confusion, smile through those distractions, and keep telling yourself there is reason everything happens! “ Have you ever felt an instant connection and bond with someone? Something so fierce and strong… You can't forget that person, ever!! I give this book 5 stars! You instantly get sucked into the story and characters! I can't wait to see what else happens in the other books. Jocelyn and Keagan meet in high school. And instantly form a strong friendship and bond. They are inseparable for quite some time. Jocelyn isn't allowed to date, so Keagan is her not so “boy friend.” But life happens and they go their separate way. They think of each other often. Sometimes, life has other plans for you though. And the two cross paths unexpectedly one stormy night. Can they rekindle their romance where they left off?? Even if fate tries to tear them apart once again? Is their love enough??
What an amazing read. I absolutely loved this book, this story, these characters. From their first meeting you will fall for Keagan and Joycelyn. Travel through their story beginning in high school and follow their not at all ordinary teen life and love. Their story is so much more, but not what you would expect as events happen that throw up a huge wall between them. Her loss and his leaving will bring a pain to your heart. Their story doesn't end there and as we see what happens to them in the years between we see how they've grown into the adults that they are today. Their story begins again and it happens fast as they reunite, only to have life threatening events to try to destroy their reunion. This story is full of angst, love, betrayal, fear, danger and hot sex. The characters are so well developed and so well written. The story line will attract you, then grab ahold of you and won't let you go until you reach the very end. I would have loved for their story to continue so I wouldn't lose them. It is truly a wonderful book and I recommend it to everyone.
One of my favorite books read this year. From the start up to the last, I was hooked on this book. Keagan and Jojo's story is amazing. For me, their story is a second chance love. Keagan left with a sad heart because of what Jojo went through . Anyway, as the years go, they met again but both of them has changed. Aside from their drama, another danger is lurking too. What I love about this book is that it's full of surprises and I easily fell in love with the characters (not only with the main characters but also to the other characters). F.G. Adams nailed it! I'm excited to see what's next to this series!
I really enjoyed reading Keagen's story. He carries a lot of grief and burdens upon his shoulders because of a special forces mission that turned deadly. Jocelyn grew up in an abusive home. She met Keegan when she was a teenager, and he became her best friend. After a tragedy occurs, they drift apart and lose touch. I loved watching this story unfold. In the beginning, there was so much information, and the story jumped from the past to the present so you have to pay close attention. It left me with a lot of questions, but it all came full circle in the end. I enjoyed watching these two work through their past in order to have a future, and they have an explosive chemistry.
Keagan (This is Our Life Series #2) was a five star read for me ~
Keagan's story is a powerful read, FG Adams takes you into the past & present and has the skill's to tell the story from both POV's taking you into a web of betrayal, smoke screens & mirrors.
The deep friendship, passion and love felt between Keagan & Jocelyn Blackwood heats up throughout this story but is the past too much for Keagan to handle ??
I loved the first book in the series Grayson but for me Keagan's story was better and shocked & thrilled me more.
Keagan and Jocelyn have each been through traumatic events in their lives. Keagan is deliciously commanding of Jocelyn when their paths collide again. The story pulls you in with their connection and keeps you with their passion. I was invested in their story and also Fallyn’s. I’m anxiously waiting for her story.
**** I was given an arc from Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review ****
Keagan is the 2nd book in This Is Our Life series. Loved Keagan and Jocelyn's story. Written in dual POV it flowed smoothly throughout, even as it passed from past to present. It was gritty, raw, full of suspense with some unexpected twists and turns and some steamy love scenes. This series just gets better and better, can't wait for Book 3.
I really enjoyed this book! This is the second book of the series. It had me in the edge of my seat. Lots of action and twist and turns. Keagan and Jo got a second chance at love. Beautifully written and I can't wait for the next one! This series gets better and better! I highly recommend this book and series!
Keegan and Jocelyn's story is inspiring, against odds they are reconnected. F.G. Adam's delivers a remarkable story with drifts back to the past to build on the characters history and past relationship... doing so superbly well. The flow was consistent and offered an alternating POV.
Very powerful book with excellent characters that you want to known more about. I loved how we see Keagan and Jocelyn when they were younger and we gradually move through their life and history of thrust relationship. A very good friends to lovers romance.
This was a great book. I loved the writing g style and the hot chemistry. The suspense kept me wanting more. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more by this author. I received an ARC for an honest review.
I was ask to read this book for honest review. I truly love it. It has lots and twists and turns. It will keep you on your toes. Be sure you have time to it read it because you won't want to put it down till your done.
Keagan is the 2nd book in the This is our life series, the first being Grayson, The main theme in both books is finding true love, but also how life isn’t always rainbows and unicorn farts, It can be hard and sometimes the more you struggle the greater the rewards. The main characters are Keagan the title character a broken man after serving his country, he is broken in both body and soul. He runs a security firm Trident in Lakeview the town he has called home since he moved with his serving military family when he was a teenager, where he sees her in school. Her being Jocelyn Blackwood the other main character, Jojo to friends and Bluebird to her best friend and ‘not boyfriend’ Keagan, they start a friendship any shy, retiring Jocelyn comes out of her shell, and their friendship grows. Until something big happens, her sister goes missing and she retreats into her shell. Until one day when her ‘not boyfriend’ has Enlisted and is shipping off and she realises she won’t see him again. Has she left it too late? Jocelyn then runs away from everyone, the place she called home and her family. Running away to Gainesville, Florida where she becomes a child phycologist hoping to help children by using her own experiences. A chance meeting during Hurricane Georgia at Grady’s Pit stop, where we meet Grady and Katrina, whom I do hope we hear more about. Gives fate a bump in the right direction, but will Keagan’s issues mean he has ruined his chances or will they get over the many hurdles they face and finally admit what I was certainly hoping for. It’s an up and down roller-coaster of an emotional read, but it’s so worth it. They face real challenges, and you can only cling on and hope for the best for them. I can’t decide if I want me a Keagan or a Grandma Blackwood of my very own. But I do think Keagan would win in the end. Even if she is a totally kick ass grandma. There are some amazing characters, and they are so well written, you really care about them. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, and look forwards to seeing the same regular cast and crew, just getting to know more about them.
LOVE THIS MOTORCYCLE MAN!!!! Keagan is the second book in this series, Grayson being the first and I have loved them both. Keagan story will grab you from page one and won’t let loose even at the end. He is a war torn veteran, he has seen things and done things no one should ever have to face. Keagan is angry and feels guilty because of an ambush that killed some of his men. With the help of two of his best friends from high school who survived the same ambush, they help each other hold it together. They will always be tracking the man they had trusted that day and when they find him it’s over. With the line of work Keagan and his buddies are in they could very easily find him. Then maybe Keagan can find some closure to those dark days. Jocelyn (Jo) Blackwood met Keagan on the first day senior year. She was really shy and didn’t talk much to anyone except her sister. All he could do was stare at her during class and he knew she was his angel, when they met it changed his life forever. Jocelyn didn’t come from a normal family, it looked normal on the outside but behind closed doors it was a different story. Her family was very wealthy and kept up appearances because the Blackwood name meant something in the community. Her Grandmother was one of the few people Jocelyn could talk to and she always made things better. Keagan and Jo had to say goodbye when he left for the military bur he told her he would be back. When a hurricane hits Florida Jo and her friend have to pull their car over and get out of the weather. The only choice is this little motel on the side of the road that does not scream luxury, but it is better than nothing. Jo has this feeling like someone is watching her. She looks around and comes eye to eye with a very hot bald tattooed man. She doesn’t recognize Keagan as the boy she used to know. Now he is an angry tough guy. When she does realize it is truly Keagan the fireworks are explosive. With Keagan job and his lifestyle can they reconnect? Can Keagan let go of the past and let Jo help heal him? F.G. Adams is an author that has so much talent. You will stay on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait for the next installment!!
FG Adams has done it again! Keagan, the second book in the This is Our Life series, is a great book to really jump into. At first, the writing style of going back and forth is a little confusing, but there is a purpose behind it. Readers totally get used to it. This second book in the series follows Jocelyn, one of Grayson’s older sisters. Grayson was the leading man from the first book of this series. We already know a little of the history behind the Blackwood family and this book gets into it a little more. Keagan moves to a new school and is immediately with Jocelyn Blackwood. His new friends try to explain to him that the Blackwood girls are way out of his league. Keagan could care less. He sees her as the most beautiful girl, and she rapidly becomes the most important person to him. She has family drama and she takes it hard. Keagan tries everything he can think of to get her out of her depression. She truly loves him, as he loves her, but she can’t seem to get over her sister leaving. He joins the military, she becomes a school counselor, and they lose touch. Keagan and Jocelyn reunite years later in a hurricane and they cannot deny their feelings for each other. Jocelyn has an extremely hard time dealing with her family abuse and tragedy. This is a big hindrance towards their relationship and it just seems they can’t get past it. These two love each other. They lost one another, found one another, and said goodbye. We want them to be soulmates and to live happily ever after. Jocelyn deserves to be loved unconditionally and Keagan deserves to be loved by someone as great as he is. This is an excellent second-series book and readers will love every page!
Keagan and Jocelyn meet in high school. Keagan knows that she is someone that he could love and would want to stay with, sadly circumstances keep them apart. They of course do get their happily every after which made this an even better read for me. There is a lot of angst and emotions run high in this book. Jocelyn didn't grow up in a great home and Keagan moved around a lot due to having a dad in the military. When they are finally able to have their happily ever after it is years down the road, but trust me it doesn't stop them from loving each other at all. While reading this book it becomes clear that Keagan will do anything in his power to protect Jocelyn, just like she will do anything to protect him even if it means keeping things from each other that really shouldn't be hidden. I can definitely say that this book left my emotions a jumbled mess at times but that's definitely ok because at the end of the book my heart was so full with love that I wouldn't have it any other way. Keagan and Jocelyn are perfect for each other and I cannot wait to see what else Ms. Adams has in store for this series.
Keagan is book two of This is our Life Series. This book brings us back to the small town of Lakeview and the Blackwood family. This is the story of Jocelyn and Keagan Fontneau. Keagan moves to Lakeview his senior year and befriends Jocelyn, both knowing he was joining the military upon graduation. This story picks up years later when they both are forced to take refuge because of the weather and see each other again (stroke of fate). The connection is still there, but there are a lot of other people who get in the way of true love. If you like girls with southern roots or girls that love boots then Jocelyn is a character you will love. If you like damaged badboys you will have a Keagan crush for sure.
This author consistently gets better and better with each book. When I read Grayson, I couldn't wait to get more from these ladies. I absolutely loved Grayson, but I think Keagan has given him a run for his money. His story will definitely pull at your heartstrings. that's for sure. Pair that with the feelings he's had for the same girl since high school and you get one hell.of a book. Well done ladies. I can't wait for more.
This book was a mixed bag for me, and inconsistent in its delivery at best. Pros: A bad-ass, bald biker dude sitting on his bike in a hurricane. Great cover. Great shades. Cons: Poor writing in the beginning and the end, which can be argued to be the most important parts of a story. The beginning sequence of Keegan's injury overseas is rushed and cliched, and the conversation is not only stilted, but also painful to read it's so corny. The ending, a happily ever after that belongs in fairy tale land, is worthy of a tooth ache from its saccharine sweetness. Pros: The middle. Teegan and Joycelyn's story is one of second chances. High school sweethearts who are separated after graduation, the couple meet up again by accident in a roadside motel during an approaching hurricane. The love story between these two is heartwarming. Overall, a good read.
Jocelyn has Keagan wrapped around her finger even if they are just friends. Keagan was discharged from the Army after eight years, Keagan is in Business with Lukas and Ollie. Buzz wants to make sure that Gunner arrives where he is supposed to be without anything happening to him and he made sure to tell Crash that. That last person that he expected to see was Jocelyn.
Jocelyn is a Children's councilor, has a cat named miss kitty. Fallyn's sister, Father own's most of town. Wasn't ever allowed to date. Goes by Jo. Keagan is a Military Brat, wants to get his job done. Has one younger brother. Fallyn Jocelyn's older sister, always protected her younger siblings. Gunner knows Buzz from the group home they were both a part of. Ollie is Keagan and Lukas's friend, owns business with Lukas and Keagan. Lukas is Keagan and Ollie's friend, in physical therapy. Wade is Keagan's younger brother, lives in Alaska. Grady is Keagan's friend, know's Keagan's parents. Own's Grady's Pit stop. Kendall is Grady's lady , the cook at Grady's Pit Stop. Buzz is VP of Phantom Prophets.
This is the second book in the This is Our Life Series. This book is very well written and the character are very well developed. I loved that I found this book very hard to put down and that I felt very connected to the characters. I look forward to reading more books by F.G. Adams.
