NOT JUST A DISTRACTION (THE HART BROTHERS, BOOK 3) can be read as part of a series, but this book serves perfectly well as a stand-alone gay romance story with an HEA ending and absolutely no cliffhangers!
Jay Hart is the ultimate protector. He’s got the whole tall, dark and handsome thing down to a science. Throw in the fact that his arms are bigger than most men’s legs, and you end up with a bone-crushing beast with an insatiable need to dominate other men in the bedroom. And now, after being accused of a crime he swears he has nothing to do with, he’s feeling more ferocious than ever before.
Enter Pierce Valentine… A hotshot criminal defense attorney with enough good looks, charisma, and success to give even a man like Jay Hart a run for his money.
Both men have a job to do, and they have every intention of doing it well. So when a heady mix of fate and coincidence brings these two men together for strictly professional matters, neither one of them has even the slightest clue what’s in store for them both.
What starts out as something clean, quick, and simple between the two men explodes into something altogether dirty, long lasting, and anything but simple.
One wrong glance from Jay Hart himself breaks open a door that neither man ever knew existed until it was too late to go back through.
Now, they can’t seem to focus on anything but each other’s naked flesh. But do they mean anything more to each other than just a distraction?
**PLEASE This book contains a bonus series, CODY’S BILLIONAIRE STEPBROTHER, by Caleb Stone.**
Same issues as he first two books, snd the he resolution was pretty weak. This as well as the first two books hint at the distance between the three brothers but nothing is answered or clarified. It is still unaswered in this book.
The Hart Brothers It’s a series of three stories each dealing with one of the three Hart Brothers and how they found their great love. I have to admit that all three of the stories could be real great and have the potential of becoming a good M/M novel but the thing is that they are just short stories and I think that all the characters are kind of too strong and had a too different past for falling in love all of a sudden and getting together with the man or their dreams in just two days. I mean writing short stories isn’t easy… but a real short story just shows one important event and actually has an open ending, not a HEA. But in this series all three brothers get their HEA within 6 short chapters and this is far too quick for such strong characters and the plot. But let me tell you the plots of the three stories now. The first book “Not Just an Attraction” is about Shane Hart. He is a businessman who owns several buildings and clubs. One evening, when he is out in one of his clubs, he meets Chris, and takes him home for a One-Night-Stand. And although both think that this was something special they split up just for meeting again some hours later in the school of Shane’s Brother where Chris is the teacher of his son. And Shane and his soon to be wife wanted to meet with Shane’s son’s teacher to talk about the problem the kid has because of the divorce. => HEA The second book “Not Just An Infatuation“ is about Colby Hart who was a school principal and became the major of Boston recently. Therefore he needs a new Director of Communication. While he leads the job interview with Ned two police officers tell him the news that the car of his youngest brother to whom he hasn’t spoken for a while was involved in a hit and run. Colby wants to spend the night away to think things through. Ned goes with him. => HEA The third book “Not Just a Distraction” is about Jay Hart, the youngest of the Hart Brothers. He has to deal with the fact that a friend of his has taken his car without permission and was involved in a hit and run with it. And it happens that his defender is Pierce, the sexy costumer who was at his shop earlier. Pierce takes the case, then decides to drop it just to apologize two hours later. Then the next day they meet one parent of the victim. She tells Jay that she knows that he is innocent. => HEA All the stories are easy to read and good literature for let’s say a train ride when you just want a little distraction but nothing real deep.
