I was very torn with the rating of this book. The story is quite normal, nothing new, it's Kazuma being Kazuma. Darkness being Darkness, the works. Aqua sometimes gets more silly than usual and Megumin is not around much. This is more a story involving Darkness and Kazuma. And it's fun, it's got a few weird scenes as usual, things seem to get bad but you know the party will survive in the end because they always do.
So far, it was just a three stars for the laughs. And then the ending. Those last few chapters. Oh. My. God! This whole Alderp thing seriously went out of control, and I don't want to say more because well... spoilers. And then the other bit. I had completely forgotten about... Someone! And oh boy... Was that nice! The story is improving a lot, even if the characters are still the same. Now is definitely getting more interesting, and I can't wait for the next book to get translated.

The plot is finally moving somewhere interesting, this book was full of surprises and unexpected revelations, after some books that were slow and repetitive this was a breath of fresh air and a motivation to continue reading this series.

The mood is a bit different throughout this novel compared to the previous 6, for sure. It followed through with a setup from the last volume that I'd vaguely remembered and was clarified throughout. This definitely felt like a potential series finale.

From what I know of the anime adaptation, this for intents and purposes IS the current ending to Konosuba. In the meantime. Which makes sense, it definitely feels like an ending to an overarching plot that was brewing in the background for a while. But it was seriously lacking the "oomph" of the last volume.

Oh yeah and the whole goal of the series was "defeat Demon King" which hasn't really progressed with this one...it still had some emotional parts, was fun where it could be with this more bleak plotline, and I think Natsume Akatsuki handled it well.

Throwing this in here randomly, but I want to mention that Akatsuki's afterwords are so funny bro. I LOVE THIS GUY.

I thought I was done with Konosuba after the last volume. And maybe I'm done now, not because this was bad but because the library is out of them. So Lalatina is getting married (again). Yes, it is a bit of a rehash of that old plot, including Alderp.

Surprisingly it was still more enjoyable than what appears an old rehash would be. There is some growth for/between some characters. But it is still pretty much just Konosuba. So you already know what to expect.

Verdict: If you're a fan you're going to get more of what you know and love. Don't look for a lot more than this.

Thank you for my life Darkness

The ~romance~ in this one was just ridiculously on-point, I really like the direction these books have taken in giving more of an internal world to its silly characters. That they took a character as silly (and completely hilarious) as Darkness and made her feel fleshed out and real is wild and wonderful to me. I love kazuma in this one too.

It's Always Sunny in Axel: The Party Crashes a Wedding

This book was the most down-to-earth in the series so far. We got a much more serious tone and interpersonal drama at the expense of any absurd comedy or biting satire. I honestly really enjoyed the more chill low steaks story so that the party can talk about how they feel about each other and really check in with each other. The climax of the story lacked spectacle but made up for it in emotional build-up and payoff. I hope to see more hijinks going forward, but I really appreciated a more serious look at the dynamic between Megumin, Darkness, and Kazuma.

This is probably the best volume of the season so far! The storyline was something different to what we have seen been in the previous volumes and it highlights the four main characters emotions in a less silly way than usual.

In this volume it definitely tries to highlight how to group do have a bond with each other and do value one another. It also reminds me why Vanir is by far my favourite character!

Was going to give this one 3 stars because while the first three quarters of the book was enjoyable there wasn't anything really noteworthy. However, the climax and resolution were easily 5-star worthy so I'm going with a middleground 4 here.

Konosuba's a great light read for the end of a long work day. Bless this wonderful world!

Bardzo średni tom. Do 3/4 książki bardzo ciężko mi się czytało. Nie działo się zbyt wiele, nie pamiętam by się działo zbyt wiele, końcówkę książki przewidziałam jak najbardziej i była świetna, ale w takim ogólnym rozrachunku to średni tom. Można pominąć i nic się nie straci, nic się nie zyska :)

This was a really fun volume, where a lot of the open points of the previous volume got solved. As far as comedy goes, Konosuba will always make me chuckle. Kazuma's jokes were really funny and the cast was back to behaving like the idiots they are :D

This one was a bit of a slower paced one it felt but it was good, the story has you wondering what’s going on, with subtle hints throughout. I don’t want to say too much but if you’ve read up to book 6 book 7 won’t have you disappointed. Though you might find some spelling errors here or there.

In this volume, Konosuba continues the adventures of Kazuma and his party as he enjoys his reward money. The party battles a hydra and Kazuma and Eris once again encounter each other. The story takes a surprisingly erotic twist though, after Darkness is engaged to Duke Alderp. Kazuma isn’t quite as clueles as he is portrayed in the anime. Eventually he has decide whether he is going to allow Darkness, whom he realizes he cares for, to marry an abusive scum on behalf of her noble family’s honor. The ending takes a very dark twist indeed. One is left wondering just how much of an air head Aqua is though. Maybe she is a lot smarter than everyone thinks. Chris makes an appearance and reveals another plot twist. Well worth reading and very funny. I hope this becomes an anime soon.

Better writing compared to the last volume. While still comedic, it has lots of emotional parts, especially with regards to Lalatina. Generally, I really like the themes in this volume and how the selfish Kazuma still can go through in helping his friend. The continuity is also great with bits from volume 1 to 6 heading to this moment. My favourite comedic part of this novel is the fact that Kazuma threw his chances by saying the wrong words and he deserves to be choked by it lmao (it is not a spoiler, it is intentionally vague). Overall, good volume of this series and made me read it within two days due to the fun.

This volume felt a little like retreaded ground, but there was enough character development and shipping to let it stand on its own.

Like the previous volume 5, this volume was quite dark, especially the fate of a certain character.

Few light novels are as funny as Konosuba, combine that with a very likable cast of characters and you have a real winner. I'm already looking forward to the next volume.
