MY THOUGHTS
Loved the grit this author threw in here, sometimes it's good to walk into the dark now and then and there's no one as dark as gunslinger, hitman, Black. He craves, embraces the dark.
Black isn't the same man we met in book #1 this one is even more darker if you can believe that, a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming but those had me glued to my ipad..
You'll see a much stronger, more determined Rose in this book, she's also changed but for her it's for the better.
Definitely will be sitting here patiently (scrub that not so patiently) for the next book, can't wait to read more about the delectable Jake.

You know when you finish a book and your emotions are so over the place, you can’t even comprehend where to start when writing a review? Well that’s me at the moment; completely speechless and scatter-brained. I don’t know what to say that will give this book the justice and recognition it deserves.
Black left us heartbroken…
“I’m dark. Darkness surrounds darkness, blackness surrounds black.”
Red leaves us destroyed…
“I want my heart back. I want to not feel broken inside. I want to feel me. I can’t, all I feel is for him.
He steals my thoughts.
He steals my heart.
He stole my soul.”
It was everything a reader wants in a book and so much more. The emotions, the passion, the story. You not only read it, but you felt it; every gut-wrenching emotion that these characters went through. It was raw, gritty, heart-breaking and filled with so much hope.
It consumes you. Takes over your entire being long after you finish. It’s one of those books that you will never forget. It squeezes the life out of you in such a good way, that you don’t want to forget it.
It’s unique. It’s brilliant. It’s unforgettable.
A MUST read for everyone.

Se viene otra estrella solitaria.
Y no porque tenga algo en contra de la autora.
La oscuridad que quiso venderme en la primera se convirtió en la telenovela de las cinco. Pérdida de memoria, tres hombres enamorados de una misma mujer, muertes sin sentido, decisiones estúpidas llevando a consecuencias aún más estúpidas... y muchos bostezos.
Lamento haberle dado una segunda oportunidad a este libro. Pensé que mejoraría, pero ni siquiera me gustaron los personajes principales, y eso no ayuda.

Habría saltado voluntariamente en ese agujero negro y nunca escapado. Pero eso, y tú... finalmente lo entiendo. Eres tú, eres tú quien hizo eso. – señala a la casa, su voz es desigual. Tan impropio de él. –. Siempre serás tú, ¿no? Solamente serás tú la que haga latir mi corazón cuando estás cerca. Cuando ríes, algo se agrieta, algo extraordinario. ¿Es amor Rose? ¿Es eso lo que es?. »
ARGUMENTO:
Ahora ya no es Liam, ya no es Black. Ahora no sabe quién es.
5 años después Black no recuerda quién es. Dicen que se llama Trace pero él reconoce las mentiras pero no es capaz de recordar la verdad. Así que cuando se encuentra con un hombre que dice conocerlo, no parará hasta descubrir quién es de verdad.
Rose lleva 5 años viviendo en la oscuridad. Si no fuese por sus hijos probablemente hace tiempo que se habría dejado llevar. Así que cuando ve de nuevo al hombre que ama no sabe cómo sentirse, rota, dolida o feliz. Él no la recuerda ¡a ella! Y ese es el dolor más grande.
Pero todas las mentiras caen, y todos los que los separaron deben morir.

Hablando de más sufrimiento...
Si ya el final del primer libro fue chungo... en general este libro fue más si cabe. Si que es verdad que la trama de los clubs se volvió a repetir en este libro, quizá pudo la autora utilizar otro recurso pero bueno que también nos ha tenido en tensión. Cuando me di cuenta de lo que pasaba chillé porque no podía ser. Reconozco que todo el asunto se resolvió demasiado pronto. Para alguien que le gusten las tramas complicadas se le hubiera hecho demasiado rápido, pero como yo soy una ansiosa y necesitaba que estos dos volviesen juntos, me alegré de que se solucionara rápido 😂
En este libro Rose... mmmm... ya no me cae tan tan bien como en el primero. Quiero decir, sí, entiendo que todo lo que Liam hace al final mira cómo acaba siempre, repercutiendo en la familia, pero en este caso no tenía nada que hacer contra lo que estaba pasado. Pero si que Rose debería entender que el quisiera tomar venganza después de lo que le hicieron, que quisiera matarlos a todos. Dice que lo ama tal y como es pero quiere cambiarlo, incoherente, pero esto es algo que pasa en muchos libros.
Allá que voy por el tercero y último porque ay Jake, después de todo lo que te han hecho y vuelven a por ti 😭

This book started by showing us what happened to Liam/Black that led to the cliffie ending from the first book. That was quite a cliffie, so it was nice to find out more what’s happened to him. After all, 5 years is a long time. During that time, Black inadvertently returned to the old life that he knew. But eventually, he found his way back to Rose/Red. And what happens after is them dealing with that. Black trying to grapple with the new things he’s learned and how he can move forward while keeping Rose in his life, and Rose trying to cope with the new Black and what that means for her and her family.
Again, just like the first book, I really wanted to rate this much higher in my head. It would have rated higher definitely had it been a little longer to allow for more natural progression for some scenes. As it is, my personal feelings only, some revelations felt it came out of the left field, and some scenes felt less emotional when knowing myself, it could have been so much more. So as such, it felt a tad jumpy. Nonetheless, at the end of day, as much as I may have some concerns about the execution of the story, I like it enough and I’m glad I got to have read the continuation to their story. After all, it’s got all the elements I look for in my romance reads. It had darkness, it had heat, and it had a story arc. Yes, there was violence too that was hard to stomach at times. I got an antihero that I was definitely rooting for. And I got a h with gumption.
And by how this ended, I was left curious enough to find out more about Black's friend.

Black è stato ingannato e raggirato, non è più Liam ma Trace. Ora più che mai si è lasciato avvolgere dall' oscurità che anni prima, esattamente cinque, solo Rose era riuscita a dissipare. È rimasto però se stesso, un assassino senza scrupoli, senza sentimento né affetti, ma gli manca qualcosa, anzi qualcuno. Finché tutto viene a galla, la verità si palesa davanti ai suoi occhi e si rende conto che, vale la pena lottare, cambiare vita e prendersi le sue responsabilità. Liam deve riconquistare la fiducia e la stima di Rose, metterla finalmente al primo posto nelle sue priorità, così come lei gli ha chiesto di fare. Il finale aperto con la questione su Jack, lascia intendere un suo coinvolgimento dinuovo nella fratellanza.
Questo secondo episodio mi ha entusiasmato più del primo.

Rose and Black never had it easy and now that Black's memory is gone it seems as if they may never get their HEA. Raising three kids while pining away for a dead man has taken it's toll on Rose. She's lost everything except her friend Jake. When Black turns up alive but with no memory of Rose or anyone else things don't seem as if they are going to improve. This book have ups and downs and will have you questioning the love Rose thinks she has for Black.
While this is the conclusion to Rose and Black's story it leaves off with a huge cliffhanger that involves Jake.

With T.L. Smith's new release Red ( Black #2), the craziness of Liam Black's life continues. Yes, you must read Black before you read Red. We were left with one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of Black and I couldn't wait to find out just how this twist would play out. This is turning into an interesting series and it feeds any fascination I might have with the dark side of humanity. Smith is a pro at leading the readers mind down a path and throwing surprises out to keep you guessing.
The story picks five years post the end of Black. Smith frames up a very interesting explanation as to Liam's state. He now believes he is named Trace and he's firmly embedded with an MC club/group he wouldn't have wanted to be with - if he was truly himself. But Liam, understandably, is NOT himself.He's not the Liam we met in Black. He's still raw and savage, perhaps more so. But he is missing some fundamental human qualities. He knows nothing of his life before the last five years. It makes sense that what he's become IS what they want him to be.
Liam is so changed that at times he felt a bit flat. In some ways, I get that his personality has changed greatly due to the circumstances of his life during the missing five years. He just lacked some of the charm I saw in him during Black. His relationship with Rose and Jake is also greatly influenced by this cold demeanor. It makes for a rather suspenseful read ~ will he or won't he re-learn to be human, to show tenderness towards what's left of his family? And will he ever understand that elusive feeling of LOVE?
Rose hasn't lost her spark one bit - she just turned into more of a momma-bear. She has so much to protect and her priorities are firmly in place. But she and Liam are really meant for each other. Jake worried me a bit only in that his feelings for Rose have morphed a bit and I could see him putting it all in jeopardy to protect her & the kids. But even Jake recognizes a loosing battle in going up against Liam for Rose. These men may be tough as nails and have the ability to shut down emotions for "work", but when it comes to Rose & the family, everyone knows the score.
Once gain, T.L. leaves us with a doozy of an ending and a cliffhanger promising the end to a certain someone. Jake has been an enigma to me so I'm excited to see his story continue.

Another brilliant, on the edge read by T.L Smith
Black must be read first this is not a stand alone
We were left with one hell of a cliffhanger in Black, one that had you shouting Nooo and cursing the author. This dark edgy plot containing two people that hold a love for each other all consuming continues in RED and along with it the edginess and gripping plot we love.
5 Years later Black is no longer the man he was, yes he is still the dark dangerous man he always was but without a memory of his time with Rose or the life before, the MC is where he now calls home and is living as Trace.
Doubt, dreams and clues lead him to a road of discovery back to the man called Black.
A plot full of twists and turns, a story of a love so strong that nobody or nothing could keep Rose and Liam apart. After discovering Liam is not dead as she believed, Rose now has to listen to her head and fight the 5 years of hurt and Liam has to earn her trust.
Rose: "I know you don't understand love, but tell me how it feels to be without me? tell me Liam right now?"
"Like I'm drowning"
Liam: She's the glue that holds my bones together, and I will keep her for as long as I can have her.
Told in dual pov's, I felt REd isn't as dark as Black was, maybe the initial shock has worn off, we know Liam, we got to know the man in Black, we know his softer sides and also know his achilles heel which is Rose and his mission in RED is to win back his Rose. So I felt we see more of a softer side to Liam, a man wanting to change but REd still holds all the danger elements, excitement and angst we love as T.L Smith takes you on that journey.
You can't expect hearts and flowers but what you can expect is a plot full of twists and turns, a love that is thick with need and a journey of rediscovery and new beginnings.
Finishing with another draw drop and looking forward to reading Jake's story.

Black must be read first this is not a stand alone
We were left with one hell of a cliffhanger in Black, one that had you shouting Nooo and cursing the author. This dark edgy plot containing two people that hold a love for each other all consuming continues in RED and along with it the edginess and gripping plot we love.
5 Years later Black is no longer the man he was, yes he is still the dark dangerous man he always was but without a memory of his time with Rose or the life before, the MC is where he now calls home and is living as Trace.
Doubt, dreams and clues lead him to a road of discovery back to the man called Black.
A plot full of twists and turns, a story of a love so strong that nobody or nothing could keep Rose and Liam apart. After discovering Liam is not dead as she believed, Rose now has to listen to her head and fight the 5 years of hurt and Liam has to earn her trust.
Rose: "I know you don't understand love, but tell me how it feels to be without me? tell me Liam right now?"
"Like I'm drowning"
Liam: She's the glue that holds my bones together, and I will keep her for as long as I can have her.
Told in dual pov's, I felt REd isn't as dark as Black was, maybe the initial shock has worn off, we know Liam, we got to know the man in Black, we know his softer sides and also know his achilles heel which is Rose and his mission in RED is to win back his Rose. So I felt we see more of a softer side to Liam, a man wanting to change but REd still holds all the danger elements, excitement and angst we love as T.L Smith takes you on that journey.

I'm torn with this one. You have to have read Black in order to read this one.
So, we know Black's alive but has lost his memories. He's now Trace, serving a bikers' club, doing what he does best, surrender to darkness. They have filled him with lies and he can sense it but not enough to understand what is actually happening; all he knows is that he's good at killing and that blue eyes hunt him.
Soon he discovers the thruth, he has been manipulated and there's Rose waiting for him. He doesn't full remember but he knows she has been the one missing all this time but how can he be something he's never been, how can he turn away from the darkness and live a life as a family man with Rose? How can Rose live with Black's lifestyle? How when she endangers her whole family by allowing Black into her family? Can love actually conquer it all?
This is a twisted love story with twisted charachters and more twisted situations, I can handle those type of books but I felt this was a bit superficial. What I personally like in dark, angtsy books is the emotion, the deep, raw, bone breaker emotion and this one was not like that even when all the elements were there, the writing didn't explore it fully until I think 70% of the book. Before that it was as the whole memory loss was like just like a headache.
I liked Black's feelings, there weren't like "hey, yes, I remember, now it's all good", quite the opposite, he understands things can't go back and now everything's changed, they both have changed and they have to find each other again. At the end Rose understood that, it was painful but I think she can handle it.
Well, I have to say the writing was a bit inconsistent at first, better in the middle and back to inconsistent at the end. For example, it wasn't quite clear who was talking, where were they and details like that.
I did not like the ending. I feel Black has been used as a weapon all of his life, by the club, by the other club and even by Rose. It's like, now be a killer, now be a normal guy, like a switch. I did not like it at all. So this just stayed like a forgettable story to me, not lived to his full potential.

I was expecting for this book so eagerly, so desperately! I needed to know how Rose and Liam would find each others paths again and have the HEA! BUT…. and yes, but in caps! Because, Oh. My. God. This book had me so annoyed from the beginning, but the need to know how it would end kept me going, kept me hooked to the story despite all the things I didn’t like. Yes, there were so many things I didn’t like, and most of them are related to why I don’t like dark books. I don’t like torture, hard core violence or less, captivity. It’s all my fault, there were all this things in the first book, and even so, I decided to read this one, but those subjects in this book were more brutal. And there was another thing, that I won’t mention because that’d be a spoiler to the story, that didn’t add up to me. It was not believable, it didn’t make sense to me at all. But despite these facts, there were things I did like. Rose’s kids were the best, Jake was the loyal friend he was in the first book and the romance and passion between Rose and Liam were present from the beginning, so that made this book enjoyable to read.

After the ending of Black is was gagging to read Red, as soon as it hit my kindle I started it and I haven't put it down all day I couldn't get enough of Liam Black.
Red is the continuation of Liam and Rose's story but is set five years on from Black. Liam woke up five years ago with no memories of his life before, his girlfriend Savannah is a constant by his side helping to fill in all the blanks he has about his life but something isn't right apart from the feel of his gun everything about his life now seems fake, someone is lying and it's time to find out who and why and it's not going to be pretty.
This book is a fast paced, raw, gritty and a pretty shocking read with each revelation I was left reeling and gasping. Black is as badass as ever going after those who dare to stand in his way, his love for Rose is intense and scares him to the bone. Rose has had to live without Black for five years she survived but it wasn't living it was surviving now he is back, where does he fit into the family Rose and his best friend Jake have built. Can Black ever do the normal family stuff ? Does he want to ? That's what we get to find out in Red.
I really enjoyed this book, it had me rooting for Black and Rose all the way, but by the end I was once again left gagging for more - TL Smith how could you !!!!!

Please read Black first , this book cannot be opened until you have read Black. I love the dual POV as i feel it makes us feel even more connected than we already are to the characters. This is a romance story that is gritty and hurts the characters and at times the reader. but it is all worth it as this book is brilliant. There is a lot of pent up emotions waiting to be released by these characters and the reconnection between them is tainted and beautiful all at the same time. You have to read this author's work.

solitamente scrivo le mie recensioni di getto, subito appena finito il mio libro, proprio perché ho bisogno di mettere per iscritto le mie sensazioni a caldo e soprattutto perché non voglio dimenticarmi niente... a differenza delle altre volte, con Red ho avuto bisogno di un po' di tempo per elaborare il tutto...
Per leggere questo libro è necessario aver letto prima Black, perché non si può scrivere questa recensione senza per forza spoilerare qualcosa del primo volume.
La storia tra Rose e Liam (Black), nasce tra due anime danneggiate. Rose è una mamma a cui viene tolta la custodia della sua bambina a causa dell'uomo di cui si è fidata e ha creduto di amare per tanto tempo, ma che ben presto si è rivelato un mostro portandola persino a diventare una tossicodipendente, ed è cosi che Liam la ritrova dopo tanto tempo.
Anche Liam è un'anima danneggiata, che nel suo passato ha trovato solo oscurità. Oscurità nei sentimenti, oscurità nel suo futuro, l'unica cosa di cui è certo è che è bravo nel suo terribile mestiere. Tenere in mano una pistola lo calma e lo fa sentire invincibile, perché è l'unica cosa che sa fare bene, senza sbagliare mai un colpo. E questa è l'unica cosa che ricorda.
Abbiamo lasciato "Black" in un finale con Rose disperata dopo che vengono perse le tracce di Liam, tutti lo credono morto, ma Liam non lo è. Si risveglia in un letto con una donna al suo fianco che gli racconta tutto di lui, compreso di essere la sua fidanzata, Liam crede a quelle parole, perché è l'unica cosa su cui può contare, eppure ben presto si rende conto che ciò che pensava di sapere non torna, è come se tutti sapessero chi è, oltre al Sicario che rappresenta, ma nessuno ha il coraggio o il permesso di dirgli nulla. Persino il suo nome è diverso... Nonostante tutto, questo non gli vieta di ricollegarsi alla vita delle persone che ama, il destino lo porterò a ritrovarsi a un evento "particolare" calamitato dalla voce di una donna, la stessa che sente continuamente nei suoi sogni, e attratto da quegli occhi azzurri e capelli biondi che lo hanno sempre portato a girarsi per strada vedendo donne simili. Non sa chi è quella donna ma il suo cuore nero lo conduce continuamente a lei, fino a quando capisce che anche lei lo conosce e molto bene. Visto che l'evento a cui sta presenziando pare essere proprio un anniversario di morte, con l'inaugurazione di una associazione in suo onore...
Black ritornerà dall'inferno in cui è stato però non sarà più lo stesso, non sarà più il Liam che metteva la sua famiglia al primo posto, perché quella famiglia non la riconosce, la sente ma la vede estranea. Avrà bisogno, prima di tutto, di ritrovare se stesso. Ed è questo che Rose dovrà fare per la seconda volta...
"Come si fa ad amare tanto qualcuno e lasciarlo andare? è possibile non andare in pezzi? Non autodistruggersi?"
La storia tra Rose e Liam sembrerà giunta a un punto di non ritorno, i fantasmi dal passato torneranno a chiederne i conti, il Black temerario ritornerà a farsi strada con tutta la sua prepotenza per vendicarsi di coloro che si sono presi gioco di lui. Riuscirà Black a tornare a vestire i panni di Liam? Questo sarà un lungo cammino. Ho amato molto Black, mi sono un po' persa in Red, ora attendo il capitolo finale per poter mettere la parola "fine" a questa storia. La storia aveva del potenziale che poteva essere elaborato meglio. Eppure continuate a seguirlo perché confido in un capitolo della serie che possa colmare tutti i dubbi e i vuoti lasciati in sospeso.
"Una parte di me vorrebbe poterlo riavere. Lo rivoglio. Non voglio più sentirmi rotta interiormente. Voglio sentirmi me stessa. Invece, tutto quello che provo è per lui.Mi ruba i pensieri. Mi ruba il cuore. Mi ha rubato l'anima."

Salve lettrici
A fine Febbraio avevo letto e recensito per voi “Black” di T.L. Smith, e adesso, a pochi giorni dall’uscita di “Red”, la CE Hope Edizioni mi ha regalato l’opportunità di leggere il secondo volume per poterlo recensire per voi.
La serie racconta di un uomo pieno di cicatrici, un uomo oscuro conosciuto da tutti come Black, e della sua Rose.
“Black”, il primo volume, ci lascia con l’amaro in bocca e con la speranza che tra mille colpi di scena ogni cosa andrà al suo posto, così quando ho preso in mano “Red”, il secondo volume, ero piena di aspettative e non vedevo l’ora di sapere come si sarebbe evoluta la loro storia.
Black ha perso la sua identità. È ancora vivo, ma non ricorda chi è davvero.
Sa solo ciò che gli viene detto, quindi adesso crede di essere Trace, membro di una banda di motociclisti.
Non ricorda nulla di Black eppure la sua oscurità lo chiama ogni notte, e ogni notte la voce che sente nei suoi sogni non è quella della sua attuale compagna, ma quella di un angelo senza volto.
Trace però non ha perso la furbizia e il suo talento di Black con le pistole, così giorno dopo giorno cerca di ritrovare se stesso.
Rose invece vive a metà. Da quando ha perso Liam non è più la stessa, è devastata. I suoi tre bambini e Jack riempiono la sua vita, ma non sono abbastanza e, quando ad una festa rivede il suo Liam, il suo bellissimo Black, nel suo cuore si accende una nuova luce.
Ma Rose non ha dimenticato chi è Liam, l’amore della sua vita, non ha dimenticato il suo lato oscuro e lo ama per quello che è, ma adesso i suoi bambini hanno bisogno di protezione, sicurezza e amore, e Black non può donarglieli se non cambia vita.
Insomma lettrici, vi ripeto che ero davvero entusiasta di iniziare la lettura perché il primo volume, seppur non perfetto, mi aveva preso molto, così quando ho preso in mano “Red” ero davvero curiosa di sapere se la storia mi avrebbe preso quanto quella precedente. Ed è stato sicuramente così.
La storia mi ha conquistata da subito, anche in questo volume mi ha tenuta incollata al Kindle. A non avermi convinto molto è stata la qualità del romanzo, che sembra essere davvero affrettato e poco dettagliato.
Le scene scorrono troppo velocemente e spesso si dimentica di analizzare bene alcuni fatti, il che è un vero peccato perché la trama è molto interessante.
È un dark a tutti gli effetti, spietato e oscuro, e io adoro questo tipo di letture, ma questa volta non sono stata totalmente accontentata. Ripeto, sembra un romanzo incompleto, ma non per questo non mi ha coinvolto.
Sono entrata totalmente nel romanzo, non posso negarlo, e a fine lettura sono rimasta sicuramente piena di curiosità verso questa storia che penso stia arrivando alla conclusione.
“Red” è il secondo volume, ma non è di certo l’ultimo. La storia non si chiude completante e, come per il volume precedente, ci lascia con la speranza di avere un lieto fine.
Ma torniamo a noi, amiche del Confine, perché a non deludermi invece sono stati proprio Black e Rose, che a POV alterni mi hanno fatto notare quanto, passo dopo passo, stiano maturati, riuscendo a mettere da parte la loro oscurità per un bene più prezioso: l’amore.
Quell’amore che vince sempre.
Inoltre lettrici, come ho già detto “Red” lascia una porta aperta al finale e, come in “Black”, ci lascia con l’amaro in bocca e con la curiosità di sapere come andrà a concludersi questa storia per ognuno di loro.
Parlando della conclusione non posso non nominare Jack, il migliore amico di Black, perché è proprio con lui che termina questo volume. E, parlando di Jack, non posso che sperare che anche lui abbia il suo lieto fine.

Inoltre lettrici, come ho già detto “Red” lascia una porta aperta al finale e, come in “Black”, ci lascia con l’amaro in bocca e con la curiosità di sapere come andrà a concludersi questa storia per ognuno di loro.
Parlando della conclusione non posso non nominare Jack, il migliore amico di Black, perché è proprio con lui che termina questo volume. E, parlando di Jack, non posso che sperare che anche lui abbia il suo lieto fine.

Per Liam sono passati 5 anni da quel tonfo in acqua, dall'oscurità che lo reclamava a sé... 5 anni in cui non ha mai smesso di fare quello per cui è portato: uccidere! C'è un ma però… il moto club per cui lavora non è lo stesso, lui ora lavora per il Vicious Viper di Grover, a scaldare il suo letto c'è Savannah; lui non la ama a differenza di lei che ne è perduta, la usa solo per il sesso e per quegli occhi azzurro ghiaccio che ricordano qualcosa e qualcuno, ma non sa chi.
Ogni notte, sogna l'oscurità e una voce profonda... conosce quella voce, ma non sa di chi sia e questo rende il tutto più difficile, perché Liam, chiamato Trace, non crede a nessuno.
"Hai mai desiderato intensamente qualcosa?" mi sussurra una voce vellutata come panna. Quella voce... mi riempie.
"Ho bisogno di te. Ho bisogno che ti svegli. Che mi trovi."
In questi 5 anni anche la vita di Rose è completamente cambiata, cresce una famiglia meravigliosa e grazie a Jack le sue giornate sono un po' meno buie, fino al calar della notte... perché la notte per Rose è oscurità e ci sono solo lacrime. Il suo unico obiettivo è sopravvivere.
Tutto cambia durante un evento di beneficenza organizzato da Rose stessa per aiutare le madri in difficoltà dove Liam si presenta su invito di uno sconosciuto incontrato per strada... per caso Sax (un amico visto nel precedente libro) l'ha riconosciuto, ma si è subito accorto che qualcosa non andava, così gli ha fatto capire di poterlo aiutare. Liam in mezzo a quella gente non ha nulla di che spartire, ma appena sente la voce di Rose si paralizza, vestita di rosso... decide di chiamarla "Red".
"Lei mi conosce, ma in che modo?
Anch'io sento di conoscerla, ma come è possibile?
Qualcosa mi attira verso di lei.
È questo il motivo per cui ho un'ossessione per gli occhi azzurri e osservo ogni donna bionda che incrocio?"
Da questo momento in poi i capitoli sono un susseguirsi di eventi, avventure, scontri. Rose scopre che Liam ha perso la memoria e lui stesso non riesce a mettere in piedi i pezzi di questi ultimi anni. Pian piano Liam ritorna Black ma con più demoni di prima, ora deve sconfiggere chi gli ha rubato 5 anni di vita, 5 anni di amore per Rose e 5 anni dell'amicizia fraterna con Jack, ma deve anche trovare un modo per riavere la sua famiglia.
L'unica cosa che vuole è vendetta!
Rose rimane una donna determinata e intraprendente come nel primo libro, ma in questa è molto più danneggiata; i tanti anni di lontananza e di sofferenza di dover crescere dei bambini da sola l'hanno marchiata più del dovuto.
D'altra parte, Black è sempre più nero. Lo era prima perché non aveva un'anima, e lo è ancora di più ora dopo aver ritrovato la memoria e aver scoperto ciò che gli hanno portato via: una famiglia!
L'amore tra i due è come se non fosse mai scomparso, le scene di sesso rispetto al primo libro sono meno numerose ma danno quel pizzico rosa che in un libro non guasta mai.
Il lato Dark invece è sempre più presente, le scene descritte sono sempre più sanguinarie e rendono questo secondo capitolo ancora più accattivante.
Questi ragazzi saranno danneggiati, rotti, oscuri, ma io sento solo tanta dipendenza! La Smith ha reso il finale da capogiro, lasciando davanti a me tanta di quella immaginazione e trepidazione che non posso far altro che attendere e sperare che "White" possa essere pubblicato a breve. Black deve tornare ancora una volta nell'oscurità!

Buongiorno care fenici, oggi Aina ci parla del libro “Red (serie Black #2)” di T.L. Smith
L’uomo che una volta si faceva chiamare Black, ora, non c’è più. Cosa è rimasto di lui?
Una ferita al cuore, una voragine profonda.
Si può aggiustare? O anche solo sostituire?
Le persone mentono e quelle a me più vicine lo fanno più di tutti gli altri.
Non sanno chi sono? E di cosa sono capace?
A volte mi chiedo se ne siano a conoscenza, perché quando svelerò le loro menzogne verranno spediti nell’inferno che, un tempo, io stesso ho visitato.
E non sarà piacevole.
Riuscirà mai a tornare a essere solo Liam e a riabbracciare la sua Rose? O lei non sarà nulla più che Red, un’altra memoria scomparsa?

Ho così tanto amato il primo volume della serie che questo seguito mi ha lasciata un po’ disorientata. Tanti pro e tanti contro.
Il romanzo è intenso, contrastato, passionale, colmo di suspense, di azione, di violenza cruda e di tormento. Liam è un uomo che ha perso la memoria e che pian piano si riscopre, riscoprendo al contempo (forse è meglio dire scoprendo per la prima volta nella sua vita) il significato delle emozioni positive, il significato della parola Amore. Ma Liam è anche un uomo oscuro, che sa per istinto come si uccide, si tortura, ci si vendica, e non esita a farsi strada per avere campo libero per ciò che vuole o che deve fare.
Dall’altro lato, non sono riuscita a condividere quasi mai il punto di vista di Rose. Non quando rivede l’uomo che pensava di aver perso da cinque anni e lo lascia andare senza dirgli niente. Non quando lo allontana, non quando cerca di cambiarlo senza comunicare, senza ascoltare, senza (di fatto) amare.
Il sesso riparatore, passionale e intenso, non riesce ad aggiustare le lontananze, e Liam si ritrova solo a cercare di capire come diventare un uomo sensibile, come comportarsi da persona “sociale”, quando è ovvio che non lo è mai stato.
Odiosa l’amichetta di Rose, mentre ho amato i due uomini sullo sfondo, il granitico Sax e il “fratello” Jake, su cui spero davvero che si incentrino i prossimi due libri.
Anche questo secondo volume si chiude con un gancio aperto per i prossimi sviluppi, il che significa, come per il primo volume, che non abbiamo un vero e proprio finale ma che la suspense ci ucciderà lentamente fino alla prossima uscita.
Un altro aspetto che mi ha lasciata talvolta confusa, non so se a causa della traduzione o di un eccessivo minimalismo nella scrittura, è il fatto di non riuscire sempre a seguire i dialoghi o gli sviluppi della guerra tra protagonisti e antagonisti. La trama thriller è indubbiamente complessa, e non ci viene concessa alcuna divagazione per chiarire e riprendere le fila, se non qualche accenno.
Continuerò senz’altro a seguire la serie, augurandomi di chiuderla qui su Rose e Liam, che meritano finalmente la pace, per concentrarci sull’esuberante Jake, che finora sembra averne patite di tutti i colori.

This was AWFULLLLL. So bad, that I tried to get a refund on the Zon at 50% but it said it wasn’t eligible. I’ve only ever refunded 1 ebook before. Ever. That’s how bad this was. So, since I paid my cold, hard cash for this shit, I went ahead and finished it.
Why was it so terrible? Let me count the ways.
1. There should not be an editor listed on the copyright page. There was no editing. The grammar was atrocious.
2. It was frequently confusing trying to figure out who was speaking in the dialogue scenes.
3. There were a lot of time lapse errors. A trip to a particular location took 5 hours one time, but then another time back up showed up in minutes. Or, he didn’t see her for days, but uh, he had just seen her. What?!
4. Lots of convenient, contrived bullshit happened to help out the (barely existent) plot line. A local pharmacist who makes an amnesia drug? A guy who gets himself out of a brick wall to come back at the end and continue the next book? How many outlaw biker gangs are in Australia, for the love of God?
5. The writing was just bad. Like a high schooler’s attempt at a soap opera slash action flick. But without any action. (See #6)
ACTUAL QUOTE:

Tha fuq? That’s how you tell us he got his memories back?
6. Book 1 was chock full of action. Yes, a lot of it OTT, but still… This one had murder, but the scenes were boring, flat, uninspired. This was some wishy-washy, love me/love me not, teenage angst shit. Except they’re 31.
7. The only characters I liked were Hayden, who we saw almost none of - he got like 2 or 3 lines; and Jake, who I genuinely felt sorry for. He deserved Rose and those kids. I’d read his story in Book 3, but I’m not about to pay more money to subject myself to this again.

Well, I certainly devoured that one quickly.
There was less awkwardness in the writing in this one. It starts five years after the first book, yeah, but it pretty much stays within months.
However, the push and pull of the characters became tiresome. She wanted him, yet he didn't want her. Then he remembers, and she pushes him away. Back and forth, this way and that... it was just frustrating.
I'm still not keen on the motorcycle-club mentality, either.
Then there's Rose. Ugh. How can she claim to love Liam Black and expect to change him because who he is doesn't fit with her current lifestyle? He is who he was when she fell for him. I understand the conundrum she has, but still...
Jake's book is on queue and down to be devoured next.

5/5 - WOW!!! Just wow
This book picks up 5 years after the first book, Black. There’s a lot of really shitty assholes that are messing with Black. He has amnesia and can’t remember Rose. Can’t remember much.
So many freakin plot-twists! Loved them all.
Black and Rose’s love story is just as dark and screwed up as the first book. She’s trying to hold on and he’s trying to figure out what love is and if he can feel it ever.
Also, Jake.
Jake, Blacks BFF/ brother. He protected Rose and looked over her while Black was away for 5 years. Jake was seriously messed up by his father in the first book and the memories have haunted him. Once again the ending is WTF! Kinda a cliffy but not for Black and Rose, for Jake.
Book 3, White, is Jake’s story.

5 ⭐️'s for sureeeeee. After I finished Black I couldn't wait to get my hands on Red because of the cliff hanger at the end. Red definitely did not disappoint with all the twists and turns happening from the beginning. Yes there are many gruesome and violent situations but there is also a love so black that only those involved see it for the beauty it truly is. This is not a book for the soft hearts, it's dark, deep and twisted in so many ways some might not understand it! And for those that do understand, they know there is a cracking light to every darkness, a Red to every Black!

After I finished book one, I was left with my jaw hanging open and my head spinning. I could not believe that ending.
This book, book two, was just as good. The story unfolds and I couldn't get enough. I was pist and I wanted Black to unleash on everyone that ever did him wrong. This book was so good. I highly recommend. You wont be let down.

Solid read and still loved the characters. I was so frustrated and ready for it all to be worked out, without giving away spoilers. At times I did feel as if I did not fully understand the characters as well as I thought I did from the first book by some of the decisions made in the second so that could just be on me.
