Gonzo has not only had to come to terms with the loss of his entire family, but he also barely survived being shot in the chest multiple times while still a human, and was then later turned into a werewolf during a vicious attack while hiking as he tried to put his life back together.
Constance has had her own losses to deal with, and while nowhere near as bad as Gonzo’s, they’ve left a mark on her as well. She’s determined to live her life without a partner though, because her two sexual experiences in college convinced her she’s asexual.
Gonzo’s a biker people cross the road to avoid, while Constance has multiple doctorate degrees and works as a research scientist for a leading pharmaceutical firm. Gonzo doesn’t trust women, Constance has no use for men — and yet they’re going to find themselves working toward the same goals.
Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.
Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.
Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.
Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.
Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

When Gonzo first showed up, he seemed a bit damaged, but that's okay. Then he played a part in Brain's book and I loathed him. Gonzo is messed up in the head and either needs to get his shit together or be put down like the mad wolf he is. He pissed me off and I found it hard to believe Ms. Blevins would feature him in a book of his own. Why would he need it? Gonzo's life is simple in my mind. I can sum it up in two sentences. Life happened. He made a bad decision and it cost him a lot. How he treats women after his decision is what bugs me. So when Constance enters into his life and shares with him news that knocks him over, I can see what Ms. Blevins is trying to do. She is giving Gonzo a second chance. I'm mixed whether he should get one.
This story is all about second chances and what-ifs. For Gonzo who was one of the walking dead, figuratively, finding meaning to life again jolts him back into the land of the living. Gonzo is different in this book because a couple of key elements are within his reach again. For some people, work defines who they are. Others, it is their spouse. Some, it is their passion. For Gonzo, whilst he loves being a protector of innocents, his main driver of how he defines himself is surprisingly as a father. This was not always the case for him. It was only after he became a father that he realized how much he loved it and how much he identifies as a daddy. When he lost his children to a heinous act of violence, he lost himself. Ms. Blevins does a great job of showing Gonzo's past of how he was, how he came to be as he is now and finally, what he is turning into. Dare I say, Gonzo is turning into a beautiful butterfly. His safe cocoon is ripped away and he is ready.
Gonzo's metamorphosis is lovely to witness. Make no mistakes, he is still a lethal animal. Think of him more as a Harvester Butterfly rather than a sweet monarch.
The relationship in this story takes a back seat for me. Mostly because Constance and Gonzo's sexual coming together doesn't do it for me. Between Constance's asexual perception and Gonzo's fucking any hole available, I'm not seeing a good fit. There are several conflicts in this story where it could have gone wrong. Even if this is erotica, Ms. Blevins does reward us with a happily ever after. Constance's real fear of losing what she holds dear is a nice tension point between her and Gonzo. Do not be tricked into thinking this book contains no sex because Constance is asexual. The sexual tensions is nicely built up throughout the book until it explodes. I realize Ms. Blevins says there is no BDSM in this story, but honestly, it isn't vanilla either. What it is, is some deferred gratification edging fun.
The story moves at a fast past and keeps me riveted. I received this book and read it in less than twelve hours. For those who love damaged bad boys finding their way back, this is the book for you. For those who love bad boys becoming fathers, this is definitely the one for you. Recommended for erotic romance lovers who believe in second chances.

I have a new book boyfriend. I am absolutely, positively, unequivocally head over heels in love with sweet, loveable, big, bad Gonzo. Oh. My. God. The man of grunts is really a puppy dog with a huge heart that just needed the right motivation and the right woman to bring him alive again.
I don’t even know where to start with Gonzo. I don’t, in any way, want to give away the premise of this book. You NEED to read it to see the wonderful transformation Gonzo goes through. To watch him bloom into a man that can love, care and live again. To watch him fight his past so that he could finally look into the future. To watch him teach Constance how to live, how to love, how to trust and how to have mind-blowing sex. To watch him convince his Connie to give him a chance, give the MC a chance and allow him to be there for the twins.
And Constance … she was just adorable throughout the book. Strong and capable, shy and asexual. Or, so she thinks. Turns out she just never met a man who knew what he was doing. She was a wonderful Aunt to two wonderful future werewolves. Too bad she knew nothing about the supernatural. For a smart woman, she still had a whole lot to learn.
Together, Gonzo and Connie could probably conquer the world. God knows they rocked each other’s world. They were an interesting and, once they relaxed, fun couple. They both learned, together, how to enjoy life and look forward to the future. They helped each other get through some traumatic and seriously heart-breaking experiences from their pasts and came out, in the end, better people.
We can always count on Candace Blevins to bring out the kink or the BDSM, depending on what her muse decides she is going to write. I will honestly say that her muse went above and beyond with Gonzo. She not only wrote the kink, incorporated some of our favorite characters from the other Rolling Thunder books but she showed us that when you think your life is exactly where it is supposed to be, something or someone will come along and open your eyes to just how empty and unfulfilling it really was. Gonzo and Connie grew together and opened up whole new worlds to both of them. I think of Gonzo and I smile. I am so happy that someone came into his life and fulfilled all of his dreams.

Gonzo is one character I was most interested in getting to know when he appeared in Brain's story. Damaged, and scary, with a deep hatred for women, I was curious how he would get his own HEA.
Constance (Connie) appears out of nowhere with part of Gonzo's unknown life in her hands. Making the choice to reveal a secret that is both devastating and life changing for Gonzo. Working together for the same goal allows these two to become close, and eventually grow to love one another.
This story gave me mixed feelings. I am glad for Gonzo, and I enjoyed Connie. I thought they worked well together to bring a softer, more romantic side out of both of them.
Connie is a strong character with a generous and loving personality. She is also firm in her decisions and actions. Connie says what she means, and means what she says.
Bringing Gonzo out the way this story did was sort of believable. There were parts that made me pause, but the devotion he showed made it passable. His pain was a constant presence and I felt for him. His wounds run deep and I found him to be exceptionally giving of himself, when it was expected for him to push Connie away.
There was a lot of telling in this story, which became a problem for me. A lot of over analyzing and over explaining which hindered the story. I needed more showing, and less of the dialogue. They talked a. lot.; sometimes without really saying much.
Connie's asexuality, or if we want to be more accurate, her demisexuality, wasn't really covered very well. I would have preferred more on that, because it read somewhat like 'magic dick syndrome' rather than the progression of the bond she would need with someone to feel that attraction.
I skimmed a fair bit of the anal play stuff. I enjoy a good anal play scene, but I found that it was too technically explained for my liking. I understand the why, I just wasn't that into it.
Overall the story tied into the other novels in this series. There was a lot revealed about Gonzo that was useful in understanding him. I was convinced that these two were good for each other, and enjoyed getting to know them both as a couple. It wasn't my favourite from this series, but I'm glad I read it.
'Tis a thing of beauty, this revealing tale about the heretofore monster that is Gonzo. Insights into the man will surprise and please readers of the RTMC series, and will engage every emotion available to new readers. There is a beautiful, organic flow to all the relationships Gonzo develops and nurtures, and the results surprise even him. Though all of the key characters make their presence felt in profound ways, this is wholly Gonzo's story.
I must admit that in his original appearance in the series, I wrote Gonzo off as a bit player; the necessary bully-muscle but without the depth to hold a key role in the series. As always, Ms. Blevins proves me wrong, such that I now know whatever I imagine will happen in this and all the supernatural series, will be precisely what does *not* happen. No spoilers here, but there will not be any reader who is not fully on Team-Gonzo by the end of this tome. The core of the man doesn't really change, and outsiders will still quiver in their shorts in his presence, but those closest and those getting closer, are core to the man he reveals.
One hundred percent human Constance begins a surprise in many ways, but in a very natural manner, ultimately meets Gonzo in the middle and theirs is a relationship that I think will provide important subject matter for the future. In classic Blevins style, she is a woman of conflicts, but at her core, is grounded and strong and self sufficient. There is ultimately some..shall we say, flexibility to parts of that persona when woman-meets-wolf, and it makes for some earthy personal growth.
Teasing glimpses of characters from the concomitant supernatural series flesh out the enjoyment factor of the story, and while I could always use many more insights into them, nothing detracts from this long-awaited unveiling of Gonzo and his new reality.
I feel like a broken record in singing continuing praises for these characters and this superlative world that engages my imagination in all the right ways, but when a series (or combined series) keeps you guessing and usually surprises you as a reader, then the praise is well-earned and the next book is eagerly anticipated.
There was something about Gonzo that made him angry all the time and in this addition to the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club Series we find out exactly why he is the way he is...and it's heartbreaking!
I have to say I was not a fan of Gonzo's when he was in the other books but wow, I totally understand the grumpy don't f@ck with me attitude now, and the way he makes a 180 in this book has you believing that the love of a good woman can heal anything.
Constance considers herself asexual so she has sworn off men and dedicated her life to being the best scientist and the best "mother" she can be to her twin niece and nephew that she is raising since her sister died of an overdose a year and a half earlier. Chloe and Declan are the cutest four year olds going and I am hoping that this series continues long enough that we see them get their own stories because I have a feeling Chloe is going to be one heck of a handful as a teenager.
This was a great addition to the series and I cannot wait to read Nix and Tippy's story next.
I’ve been patiently waiting for Gonzo, I’ve read the others and so totally fell in love with the RMTC series, I was lucky enough to receive a ARC for Gonzo from the Author in exchange for my honest review.
Wow Gonzo, if I hadn’t met Gonzo in the previous books I’d have not known he was the same man. We know when something tragic happens in our life one or two things can happen. We fold within ourselves and either become angry and bitter or bitter and sad both instances lonely. Gonzo put the A in anger and most gave him a wide berth.
Constance a ready maid mom to her twin niece and nephew, with a job that has her needing pretty high intense security. Besides that she hasn’t had many relationships and she is more than okay with that.
Gonzo said something that followed me through out the book “...Connie didn’t know it, but she was a little broken too”. So true a words, he knew he was broken but I’m sure he thought he didn’t care. But to be able to see the broken in Constance
What drew me to liking Gonzo so much is how he changed without losing himself Constance had a couple of misteps in getting to know Gonzo, the same misteps polite society has very often.
I loved the entire story, Candace brought back prior characters from the series. Gave us a detailed story with character, personality, sexy heat, passion, bedroom bossiness, and slow building love. Strength, pride and honor can be find on whatever side of the tracks you reside on, suit and expensive shoes, jeans or biker boots. I recommend this book. Enjoy.
Not at all sure why I love this author and this series so much but I every time I think I can walk away from not buying the next book....I race off to buy the next book in the series.
I didn't really think I was going to get as emotionally bonded to Gonzo as I did. This was really well put together with enough emotional anguish and connection that it worked way better than expected.
I like Gonzo and Candace together as much as I like them as much as Brain and Harmony which is saying something considering how much of a total tool Gonzo was in earlier books.
I like the mix of strong women, brutal men and situations that just have to be dealt with that makes everyone stronger in different ways just makes this a great series.
I was practically doing cartwheels when Candace Blevins sent me a copy of Gonzo. I should feel embarrassed since I think I may have worn her down with all the “I Can’t Freaking Wait!” comments I left her.
This was an emotionally driven book but we knew it would be since it was Gonzo’s story. He had zero respect for women because he had been betrayed by his second wife which resulted in the death of his children. I felt for him, but I still thought he was a complete jerk. With no use for women, he let very few past his walls. It’s good he let Gen, Harmony, and Angelica his MC brothers’ women in because he needed their support for what was coming.
I wasn’t sure how Ms. Blevins’ would pull off redeeming Gonzo but she did. In fact, I’ve decided Gonzo holds the prize for the most character growth of any other Hero I can think of. There are things that truly gutted me but Gonzo had to get through the pain to see the beauty just waiting for him. How he handled himself through some serious upheaval in his life was wonderful to behold.
Constance didn’t win me over at first since I thought she was too timid. By the last page, I had completely changed my opinion. She was extremely measured and cautious but she was not timid. Taking on her dead junky sister’s twin toddlers made her worthy of respect. She also won points for the risk she took by bringing Gonzo into their lives.
I loved that Gonzo and Constance had a slow burn romance. With his past, insta-lust/love would have been a tough sell and I don’t think it would have been believable. By developing a friendship first through the twins, the relationship ended up being much more believable. I found myself rooting for them which is something I would never have done with Gonzo before.
I completely devoured this book even having to force myself to close my iPad at 1:30 AM. If not for an early appointment I would have read straight through. I completely understand why it had to be more relationship driven but I did miss the suspense and action that I look for in an RTMC book. Loved that I got to spend time with Angelica and Brain, but I really missed Horse and I wanted more of him. It would have been nice to see how some of the different species interacted since the club has been opened up for other shifters besides wolves. These were my only complaints.
Gonzo is a wonderful story and I am so glad he got his chance at love.
Spice’s rating: 4.5 Yes you can cure alpha-hole-itis stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from The Author in exchange for an honest review.
Spoiler Ahead This was book 7 in the "Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club" Dwight "Gonzo" Wells lost his whole family he first lost his parents and brother when he was fourteen than he lost his first wife to cancer and then his second wife shot him and killed his two children. While hiking he was attacked and turned into a werewolf and he didn't want to turn back to being human. Constance has had to deal with her own share of loss her sister Sandy died of a drug overdose and she was left to raise her niece and nephew she goes to the clubs bar to find the kids father Gonzo. This was a really good book and I loved reading it. Gonzo was very upset that Sandy didn't tell him that she was pregnant and that he missed four years of the twins lives. Constance has her own share of problems she believes that she is asexual because her two tries ten years ago didn't go so well she couldn't get aroused. As Gonzo and Connie try to work together to co-parent the kids he realizes that he has to tell her that he is a shape-shifter and so are the kids. Gonzo has to also deal with a lot of emotions in this book Gonzo didn't think he would ever let the walls around his heart down but the minute he met his kids they came down and he would do anything to protect them. I also liked how his brother's were their for him and for Connie to in a way. I also liked how he introduced Connie to sex and she enjoyed it although she thought that she had to put up with it to be in the kids lives and when he introduced her to her orgasm she couldn't get enough they had some good sex Ms. Blevins writes some really good sex scenes. I also liked how he was not afraid to show her his emotions while he was showing her his pictures of his kids that he lost and telling stories. This was a really good book it was wrote with emotions. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. If you like reading about paranormal bikers than I recommend that you read this series.
“Gonzo” is my first Candace Blevins novel and I was so curious to read it, I asked to join a list so I could receive an ARC of the Roller Thunder Motorcycle Club book 7 (yes, there are other yummy books in this series that I will need to indulge in further).
Both the male and female leads in the story have seen their share of heartache. Seriously, so. And through a series of circumstances that should not have happened (avoiding spoilers), Gonzo and Connie have been thrown together and not only must make the best of it, they seem to flourish. Gonzo is nicer, actually smiles (okay, that might make some folks run) and Connie…well, Connie (spoiler alert), discovers the beauty and intensity of orgasms.
Overall, I enjoyed the writing immensely. The characters were well played and I found myself laughing multiple times (especially the use of Sons of Anarchy as a learning tool). I liked how the different actors fed off each other making for a well-blended ensemble. As Gonzo and Connie get to know each other, their relationship slowly develops and the stereotypes they once thought existed are rapidly peeled away.
If you enjoy stories about motorcycle clubs, you’ll find it here. Paranormal/wolves, yep, here. Transformations…that too. Bit of kink…mmmm…yes, oh, yes. Sssex…what was the question?
I really did not know what to expect when I started reading Gonzo’s story, but what this author brings about in telling his story is a man who has suffered, a man who has to learn to adjust due to unforeseen circumstances, a man who may learn to love again.
Gonzo meets Constance when she imparts some very big news, big enough to change his life. Together they work to make things work in their new roles, they also get to know each other better.
Love the paranormal elements, he is a werewolf and she is human. They gradually become an item and even though it begins slowly, Gonzo is very much a gentleman with her and little by little shows her all that she’s been missing pleasure-wise.
Gonzo really stole my heart at how loving he can be, even after having survived unimaginable pain, he now has two very big reasons that make him smile and laugh, Constance, or Connie, as he prefers to call her, is another reason for smiling. Constance brings out feelings he never thought he’d feel again, she was able to reach inside of him and see life very differently. Of course, this being a Candace Blevins story, there are some thrilling sex scenes. I adored how patient Gonzo was with Constance, but as their relationship progresses, the inner caveman comes out, and boy of boy, he is totally sexy.
Once I started reading this story, I just could not put it down. Don’t miss out on another great installment to the series, though the stories can be read stand-alone, other characters do make appearances, which is another part I really enjoy.

Motorcycles. Bad boys. Werewolves. Romance. Then there was Gonzo. This man has lived his share of deep, deep, deep tragedy, heartbreak, and just down right major tragedy. He has every right to keep the chip on his shoulders and bring down the shutters to his soul more than most. He was walking through life with one purpose and that was to protect the innocent. While needing a true purpose for his life. Bad, bad boys need someone to love, protect, and cherish as well has have it returned.
There was action, quick pace, vast characters, in depth background. Constance on the surface does not mesh well with Gonzo. Thinking of their lives, paths life had taking them and current circumstance. Things begin to change and foster a different perception for me.
I really want to get my hands on the previous books and then read this one again just to see if any of my views change. I am certain there was more in the pages that I was not fully aware of.
I anticipate reading the previous books in this series. I have only one view of the characters and that is from what I have read in this book. I see the all from this one book's point of view. I anticipate getting to know Duke, Brian, Bash, and Horse. I want to get a better understanding of the Rolling Thunder MCs. I hope to move forward with all the new reads that Candace has coming for the series. Thank you for moving forward and bringing us new things. **This ARC was provided via Bewitching Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.**
Gonzo is one of those books I enjoyed because of the underlying theme (whether the author intended it to be a theme or not) - sometimes, your closest family is the one you make for yourself.
There’s a lot of subtle emotion in this story. Yes, some of it is in your face, but a lot of it creeps under the surface. It’s more than just the relationship between Gonzo and Constance.
It is so hard to write this review without giving away any spoilers. There’s a reveal that is so huge for Gonzo, one Constance brings into his life, that breathes life back into him. It makes him realize there’s a difference between being alive and living a life.
One thing that disappointed me with Gonzo (and Horse, really) is something I expected from the way Bash ended (yes, I’m going back three books). There was a hint in Bash, a foreshadowing even, of bigger events to come. I really want to see where that story arch goes, but it feels a little like it dropped off.
Oh well, I guess that just means I’ll have to keep reading. Gonzo CAN be read as as standalone if you haven’t read the other books I mentioned.
When I first saw Gonzo in previous books, I thought he would always be a peripheral character as he was too damaged to become a main character. I was proven wrong and delightfully so!
Gonzo has had some truly sad and awful things happen in his life that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. Constance has also dealt with some tragedies in her life. Where these two intersect in their lives is a place that could go really well or really bad for both of them. Candace takes us on a journey with them that is inspiring and hopeful while still being sexy.
One thing I enjoy about this series is that we get to see others from previous books, sometimes in depth and sometimes in passing. I don't think you need to have read any of the previous books to enjoy this book but it sure does help for backstory!
This one was a bit different. Sure there was a romance, but it was very slow going in that arena. For me the main focus of the book was how Gonzo came back to life when learning he had kids, twins that were 4 years old. Learning that rocked his life and flipped a switch where just after seeing a picture of them he was all in on being a father again. I really loved how Gonzo wanted what was best for the kids, how he kept telling Connie that as long as both of them thought about what was best for the kids, they would never make a wrong decision and wouldn't need the courts. I also liked how honest Gonzo was with Connie about what he wanted, to live with his kids. He knew this wouldn't happen over night, which he would prefer, but would take time and he realized Connie was their mom, even if she wasn't by blood.
The romance between Connie and Gonzo was interesting. He was very open with her about his life in the MC and how sex played into it. I was a bit surprised by Connie stating she was asexual. More surprised by how once Connie and Gonzo started having sex she was all in especially when things weren't so vanilla.
I liked how this one ended, loved the big house, loved the how the RTMC is building it's own housing complex where the kids and families can be safe and it's always block party time.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was not a Gonzo fan coming into this but it didn’t stop me from being curious enough to want to know his story. What was his deal? Why was he so angry at the world? The Gonzo in this story was a different person. It was hard to reconcile the Gonzo I thought I knew with the Gonzo I came to know. In the end I couldn’t help but love him. He was patient, thoughtful, and kind. The way he dealt with Connie and the kids coming into his life was definitely something.
Not sure how much I liked Connie. The biases she held rubbed me up the wrong way, and as a consequence I just couldn’t warm to her. If it wasn’t for the fact that she seemed somewhat apologetic for them and tried to be more open-minded I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have liked her much at all. I think apart of the reason why I didn’t like her was that I didn’t really get to know much about her – her past in particular. I wanted to know her story in detail. I have to say I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more surrounding her asexuality.
This story is focused on Gonzo, his past, and his growth, rather than his relationship with Connie. The relationship itself takes a backseat but it does provides the perfect opportunity for Gonzo’s personal development. I loved seeing this side of him, the grief put me firmly in his corner, where I just wanted to heal his hurts and give him cuddles. I was surprised that his story wasn’t more anger filled, regardless; it still explained some of his previous actions and attitudes. While I liked seeing his growth, seeing that he could be sweet and tender, I felt the whiplash as it was less of a gradual transformation and more a personality implant.
On the whole, I couldn't put this book down. I absolutely devoured it. I still would have like a little more MC action but there really isn't much to complain about considering I had my Gonzo fix.
Enjoyable, fast-paced, and addictive. I can’t wait for more of this series. Seriously, how can I not continue a series where morphing male appendages keep making an appearance.

Let me start by saying I love love love the RTMC series and I have had a soft spot in my heart for Gonzo from book one. Most people see him as just a grade A jerk, but I always wanted to chip away at his crusty outside to see the real man inside. I was not disappointed--Gonzo stole my heart! He is my new favorite RTMC member, sorry Brain!
Gonzo has been through a hell I can't even begin to wrap my head around. To avoid completely shutting down and leaving his humanity to live in wolf form, he slaps on his suit of armor in the form of jerkitude. [It's a word!!! :)] The world as a whole sees the gruff/rude/seemingly hateful persona under which Gonzo now lives. However, he is presented with a scenario which causes him to rethink how he interacts with the world. While those without access to his inner circle will always see the intimidating Gonzo, there are the lucky few who get to meet the man he was always meant to be. Connie--MAN Gonzo hates the name Constance--manages to not piss him off on sight and that is something very new for him.
Constance has adjusted to a life devoid of a romantic relationship. However, as circumstances bring her and Gonzo together on a consistent basis she begins to rethink her future and how she wants to live it. While she recognizes Gonzo's rude persona is genuine, she glimpses the pain in him and seeks to delve a little deeper.
The romance for these two is slow, sweet, funny, and HAWT!!! I loved learning their story and guessing at their future. The journey will take you through the full spectrum of emotional highs and lows and everything in between. I smiled, giggled, belly laughed, cried tears of sympathy, joy, and heartbreak. Be prepared to be exhausted afterward!
If you've never read Candace Blevins---YOU MUST! She writes smart, loving, funny, and sexy characters and avoids the formulaic storylines flooding the market. She takes you on thrill rides that are more than worth the price of admission.
Gonzo never really stood out for me in the previous books, but after going back and doing a little re-reading I’m not sure why I didn’t notice him more. He seems to be the most broken of the RTMC members, having suffered loss after loss. His general views of women aren’t good, but at the same time he is quick to jump in and help a woman in distress.
Constance is very structured. Everything in life has a place and everything needs to be in its place. Having kids about the same age, she left me feeling a little envious of the order she managed to maintain. She’s not someone you expect to see fall for a damaged biker.
The romance in this one builds very slowly. Gonzo does what he can to appease Constance for the sake of his kids, Constance tolerates Gonzo as best she can for fear of losing her niece and nephew. This is the first time in the series that I can recall such a build up to that first sexual encounter.
Gonzo in dad mode brought a whole new level of hotness to the RTMC series. As the sexual tension built, I chanted a silent “Please let it turn kinky, please let it turn kinky.” I was not disappointed. Having Connie go from so in control and innocent to submissive and open to everything Gonzo has to offer, really amped up the heat in the finals chapter.
This is a book that I could have sat down and devoured in a single session. Unfortunately work and kids sometimes get in the way of my plans. It drove me crazy having to space this one out over several days. Next time a RTMC gets released I’ll know to plan my week a little better.
I received this book from the BDSM group on Goodreads.
At its heart, this is a sweet romance about grief and loss. But on top of that we have all sorts of other crazy themes--wolf shifter, aunt raising her sisters kids, secret baby, motorcycle club, opposites attract--all kinds of fun that make this a really good time.
Gonzo was really dead inside and kind of awful earlier in the series. He hates women and acts like it. We get to know why in this book and Blevins does a great job making him into a wonderful hero.
I like the quiet, fierce, practical heroine a lot. I love an opposites romance so this romance makes me happy.
I wasn't really thrilled with the asexual angle in the book. Blevins does a great job through out the series presenting and developing a spectrum of sexualities as part of her characters. It turns out Constance wasn't asexual but needed a bit more kink to get her going which is all good but the idea of asexuality gets a bit mishandled I think also the heroine is a genius. We should see much more of that part of her than we do. Also, Gonzo is a little too callus at times about custody issues.
However, couple time is grand in this book as Gonzo can't help but fall in love and neither can Constance. They both grow and heal. It is a really lovely romance in that way.
I like kids and I like the kids in this romance and how parent is handled and discussing. Even though this is a erotic romance there is a lot of talking.
The series plot moves forward nicely and all the characters show up in great ways.
A supernatural, shifter novel. Book 7 in the RTMC series.
Let me start by saying Gonzo is not likable throughout this series. He's been dealt a rough hand and walks through life rather than actually living it. Sooo....he's rough and he's tough and he's not the nicest guy, especially to women. Really, really not nice.
Cue Connie. She's convinced she's asexual. When she and Gonzo meet, it's not love or like at first sight. No spoilers - but when Connie reveals her secret, she and Gonzo find some common ground and have to work together.
Sexually, they are polar opposites. It was interesting to see this develop into a love story, especially when both had established lives and boundaries. It was slow building and sweet, when these two broken people finally opened up to each other and allowed themselves to be vulnerable.
As the story evolved, sweet became spicy hot. Gonzo was controlling and bossy. Not a surprise and that's why we read these books, right? It wouldn't be a CB story without some kink, but I spent more time in Connie's b$tt than I liked. Seriously, it doesn't detract from the story and those "moments" were building trust, but....(see what I did there) I didn't necessarily need a play by play.
Why was this story good? The writing kept my interest start to finish. I found I now like Gonzo, he came alive and redeemed himself to Connie and to me. That CB found a way to make me like him, wow. Bravo!
Gonzo is a broken man. He doesn’t relate to people beyond his brothers in the RTMC and doesn’t participate more than he has to. He’s a scary man I’d cross the road to avoid. So I was curious to see how Candace Blevins would bring him to life and give him a story I’d be interested in. I should have known she’d find a way. Gonzo’s life, which has been tragic, and enough to make anyone step away, takes a turn for the better. There is something out there to pique his interest, to make him want to reconnect and to give him focus. And Connie is the one to show him what it is. She’s a strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man in her life, but might get one anyway. I enjoyed their growing relationship, how they helped each other and how we find that love does indeed conquer all – and it’s not only romantic love. There are cameos from other Chattanooga Supernaturals, which I always enjoy, but really this is Gonzo’s return to a real life, and the surprising joy he finds there in places he never thought to look.
Received ARC. Emotionally charged storyline for this member of the MC club. Sex was almost subtle in the context of the, at times, wrenching story. You get the eroticism Candace is so famous for, but the story of redemption overshadows it. Great story with Constance and Gonzo, small side story, but wholly about 2 completely different people finding each other bound for a common goal. How they get together is a huge spoiler, so it's hard to put into words the emotional deliverance Gonzo gets in his story. Nice addition to some of the heavy BDSM like Bash's story.
Bikers, werewolves, and a smart heroine are again on center stage in this series. Having read each of the books in this series, I loved getting to know the back story of Gonzo. Despite his initial trepidation, Connie is a great match for him. I'm quite happy to be team Gonzo now.
So I took a little break from this series because book 6 was boring and brutal to finish. So just picked up again to see if I wanted to continue. I'm glad I did. This book was a true redemption for this series. Once again I'm wanting to continue the series.
Not only has Gonzo had to come to terms with the loss of his entire family, but he also barely survived being shot in the chest multiple times and later turned into a werewolf during a vicious attack. While Constance’s own losses are nowhere near as bad as Gonzo’s, they’ve left her mark on her as well. Gonzo doesn’t trust women and he’s a biker that people corss the road to avoid while Constance has multiple degrees and works as research scientist and has no use for men, but yet they find that they are both working toward the same goals.
This romance has sparks flying and emotions gripping readers by their hearts throughout as it holds readers captive. Gonzo and Constance are strong characters that readers can easily connect to and whom have a some serious chemistry going on between them but this relationship has some obvious drawbacks that keep it in suspense until the very end as readers wonder if they can form a team and do what must be done.
Thrilling suspense keeps the anticipation building throughout this story that has several stunning twists that has readers dropping their jaws in disbelief but yet also makes the story more captivating as Gonzo tries to win Constance over. Readers also can’t help but fall in love with Gonzo as he tries to make a family against all odds in this fascinating, heartwarming and enjoyable romance.

When you loved once, and lost. And loved twice, and lost everything, you are existing in your world, but not living, because living hurts too much. When you have been reserved all your life, and when you tired to step out, it was worse then you expected, you internalize. When life gives you something to focus all your efforts and energy on, you grab it, hold it, and devote yourself to them. Then these two lives intercept, and they are forever changed
Wasn’t a Gonzo fan, not even a little. I know he came around, and everyone was okay with him, but I hold grudges. Now, I am still not a huge Gonzo fan, but I loved him in this story. I adored the way he threw himself into the situation, and gave 100% of himself, and did what was best for everyone, and wasn’t selfish. I admit, I was worried, because Constance didn’t endear herself to me right away either. But she grew on me, and I felt with her, saw with her, and understood with her.
In other words, I loved Gonzo and Constance’s story, and they are better together than apart, and in the end, that is what a good relationship does, makes you better together!
While I'm glad to have gotten Gonzo's story and to see his HEA, I felt like his book wasn't the strongest one in the series.
I like the premise of the story, and I like the main characters. There was just something lacking, I think. I kind of felt like Connie and Gonzo's connection was as strong as it could've been, and I think that it was a little insta.
The story didn't take a direction that I expected with all the focus that they made of Connie's security. I expected that to turn into some kind of story point, and I think that I would've enjoyed the book a bit more if that had happened. It would've increased the conflict in the story, which might have given it a boost.
These books are all over the place, so differently written you'd think they had different authors.
Gonzo was a great character but Connie was very 2 dimensional. She's meant to be rich cos she's this super top scientist but we learn next to nothing about her work other than the security needed. That n she now loves kinky sex.
Got to say it all got a bit ploddy n boring by the end.
This series is going downhill fast.
End of the line for me with the last two books being so bad Got too many great books in my tbr list
Wow! What a beautiful love story. It was sad & happy & loving mixed along with the RTMC way of life. I cried so much for Gonzo & his loss. But also for the love story that unfolded along the way.
I read it so quickly, I just couldn't put it down. All the other books have love stories in them just not as touching as this one.
