When Aldric Gunter shows up and offers Navena Johnson an easy way off the prison planet she’s stuck on, the answer should be an easy yes.
But when the next thing she needs to say is “I do”, the choice gets more complicated, because the Viking warrior wants a high price for the marriage of convenience - he wants her heart.

I wanted to like this one way more than I did. Viking in space? Yes. Kick ass heroine? Yes. Marriage of Con. Oh yes.
However, once this gets going and we start to get some couple time and dealing with what it means to be married, the book ends. It is like someone taking your plate away when you haven't even eaten half you meal. No.
This was a quick and good read. We have a kickass heroine and a broody hero. She is all about the rules and he, well, he isn't, but she doesn't know that. There is a deeper mystery brewing here, but this focuses on these two. They were friends, but she realizes he wanted more, and now she can give him more. Once he turns on the heat, she can't resist, and they fit together perfectly
Now to go back and read the one before and any that came after this one!
There were some things I liked about this and some things I didn’t.
Like I really liked how the hero felt about the heroine,
and how he handled her (because she needed handling),
and how the kisses and build up to the love scenes were clinging and lingering rather than all or nothing rapture that’s over in a couple lines (as though kissing that fast is fun for anyone).
But I didn’t like the heroine who was far too high strung, kind of obnoxious and emotionally constipated,
I didn’t like the immediacy with which she decided that they belonged to each other (she went from violently averse to downright doe-eyed in a literal line),
I didn’t really like how the hero was frightened of her and how she’d react and so pussyfooted around how he spoke to her so much I barely knew what was going on sometimes,
and I didn’t really like that the love scenes were sort of distracted and meandering (in a way I liked it because it reminded me of the lingering, playful kisses, but I also didn’t because it somehow also kind of felt hollow and passionless).
Overall though, the lingering impression I got from this book was abruptness. Everything was very abrupt. All the arguments and resolutions and external conflicts, rounded out by sudden emotional finality in the conclusion, just felt really abrupt. Because it was. So even though I did like some things, the abruptness ruined the effect for me enough that I couldn’t possibly make the rating any more than 2 stars.

It was awesome that he would do anything possible 2 save the woman he truly loves and is his mate without knowing it. It is messed up how she wasn't getting resuced until him. She needs 2 rage hell on those fuckers she worked with her. It's 2 damn short again!! Even though he tricked her she liked the idea and will do everything as possible 2 keep the promises made by each other.
I liked both Aldric and Navena in the first book as secondary characters so I was interested in reading their own book. It sounded exciting except it was all rushed. This whole story just felt chopped and too short. I think it needs some fleshing out.
This is a friends to lovers story, only told in space, with Vikings, and aliens and all that fun sci-fi stuff. Aldric is reasonably happy on his home planet of Midgard, though Navena, a Sergeant in the FedNat military and best friends with his commander's wife is the bane of his existence, a feisty female who's come to visit a few times and has stolen his heart, though she doesn't know it. When she ends up on a prisoner planet, he swoops in to save her in disguise as a buyer for her charms, offering the proper bride price and getting hitched to her. She realizes it's Aldric from the start - what she doesn't realize is that he's going to want to make their marriage legitimate. I loved the two of them together. Navena is so used to taking care of herself, that she's pretty pissed off that she needed to be rescued, not to mention that she's getting new vibes from Aldric she's never seen before. Aldric is channeling a bit of Han Solo in attitude if not in looks (the six foot plus Viking is a well built male specimen) and the scenes with them hightailing it around the galaxy in his space transport were quite fun. And sexy, lets not forget that! These two are smoking hot together and create their own nebula. The story ends in a happy for now for these two, but with some open-ended plot points that could lead to other stories. Very enjoyable!

This book is nice it reads at a great pace. I gave it four stars because it was to short for my liking although it hit all the major points like a good story. The main characters are really good friends who only get to see each other every so often for a short time to spar but what the other doesn't know is that the other has fallen deeply in love but because of her job & not being sure if she feels the same he doesn't act nor tell her of his feeling. She's trapped on a prison planet with no way out he's her only choice of freedom through marriage. Great book really enjoyed taking this journey with these two as they come to terms with each other.
Navena is a career FedNat soldier; she's learned to be the best from her former commander and Aldric, son of a king. She has no time for or thoughts of romance. Adric is a marksman, security expert and trusted advisor in service to his father and people. And he's ready to settle down with one woman. He's resigned to wait for her, until... An interesting space romance novella! A different arena with similar problems and human frailties! Told in a special and delightful way! Book free for honest review.
This was exciting to read of Aldric's early love for Navena and what lengths he would go to save her and make her his mate/wife! A definite feel good story because Navena is a strong woman with military experience yet is able to be the loving gentle woman Aldric desires. Enough action and steamy chemistry to keep you from setting this book down before it's finished!
I am so hooked up in this Viking saga. This book is a continuation of the story of A Viking's Peace. Aldric and Navena started as opponents, then became friends and sparring buddies. Aldric is crazy about Navena, but she is a soldier and is relocated far from Midgard. This is the story of a strong, odd couple with sexy scenes and sweet ending. I recommend a lot!
Aldric and Navena go from friends to marriage of convenience after he rescues her from prison. Just when they start to work things out and things are going smoothly, the story ends rather abruptly. The romance was appealing and sweet, however, I hope we get another story with these two to tie loose ends.
Loved everything about the story, action, suspense, fear, love, and romance. The characters were awesome with strong personality and know when to lean on each other. A must buy and keep them coming.
