Levi is an emotional mess after his girlfriend Delia dies. He has clinical depression, panic attacks and he has stopped talking. It's been six months.
Neither his mom nor his best friend Caleb can help him. The therapists are having a hard time helping him. Pills, Pills, Pills. He acts out, he cries a lot. I have to tell you that I can't relate to what brought this on in Levi, but I also have panic attacks and clinical depression so I understand that part. Levi explains later on in the book what happened to his girlfriend and I can tell you I cried so hard. I won't say because you should read the book and find it all out for yourself.
Ashley Royer is a teenage author that can get at your heartstrings and she did her homework on mental illness. But unlike other wonderful books I have read where the author writes about mental illness and bad things that happen to people, this one is just about Levi, his family, his friends. There is no school drama as he quit school to get away. There are a great group of characters in the book. I love each and ever one of them.
Levi's mom sends him from the home he has known all of his life in Australia to stay with his dad in Maine. She doesn't know what to do with him any more. She wants him to get help even if that means sending him away. Maybe the different atmosphere and no reminders will help him. His best friend Caleb actually agrees even though he's going to miss him.

Once again I find myself thinking of living in Maine. It's thousands of miles from Australia, where I've lived my whole life. I don't understand how moving far away will help. If anything, it may make matters worse. Nothing will help me, it never will. They could send me to Mars, and I still wouldn't change. People can't be fixed once they're broken. They are like shattered glass, a bunch of tiny pieces that can't be taped back together, Invisible, sharp, and crushed. Even if I wanted to fix myself and put the pieces I have back together, I couldn't.
Levi communicates when he has to by writing a txt message or a note on a paper or on his phone for someone to read. It's all very sad. And I know that some people reading this book will think, dude just get over it. They say that a lot to people with mental illness. You can't stop when you cry all of the time. You don't want to but you just cry. There are a lot of other things too, but I'm not going into all of that. If you do read the book try to not look at it that way. Try to look at a person who is in a very bad way. Who doesn't understand what is happening. A lot of times when something traumatic happens to someone they will develop mental disorders. And forever through the book I kept saying WHAT WHAT WHAT happened to Delia. You want to know why it was so terrible besides the obvious reason that she died... and then you find out and it's sad. I wanted to take all of those thoughts and images away from Levi.
When Levi gets to Maine he's angry. He doesn't want to live with a father that left him. The relationship is pretty bad until things finally turn around slowly later on. There are two teens that are best friends, living down the road from Levi that want to be his friend. That would be Aiden and Delilah and I would love to have them as friends. They stick by him even when he pushes them away, they just keep coming back. And Delilah understands when he has his panic attacks and finds him crying, she doesn't judge or make fun or say get over it. Panic is not fun.

My breathing increases as I try to relax, but nothing is working. The music gets quieter, and then everything is silent. All I can hear is my heart racing, and the ringing in my ears. All I can feel is my shaking body. I feel like I'm stuck in an earthquake. Except the earthquake is myself, and there's no escape.
Why does this happen to me? Why do I deserve this?
Like I mentioned before he has such great friends in Delilah and Aiden. I love their friendships, you can't not love them. You just can't. The first time Delilah finds Levi in one of his attacks she's such a comfort and I love her for that.

He doesn't respond for a few seconds. Then he slowly turns around and faces me. His eyes dart around, avoid mine, and he nervously bites his bottom lip. At least he has stopped crying. He takes out a piece of paper from his pocket, along with a pen. He quickly writes something down and passes it to me. I wonder why he's carrying paper and pen.
It's been 210 days since she died. And it hurts. A lot. Days go by, and she's not here. I hate being here without her. I hate everything. I just miss her so much. It's so hard to get through every day.
I look up at Levi after I read it, and he finally looks me in the eyes. He suddenly bursts into tears. and starts to sob. I put my hand on his back to comfort him, and he flinches at first.
"It's okay to be sad, Levi," I whisper. "You don't have to go through this alone."
And Aiden is just as great.

"Levi, it's okay to feel that way," Aiden tells me after a long pause.
I shake my head no.

What Aiden says makes me cry even more. I hate that I'm sitting here on an old beanbag chair, with Aiden's arm around me, and tears streaming down my face.
I hate that I'm feeling this way.

Levi's therapist Candace wants him to meet and talk with a new kid named Mitchell since Levi won't go to group therapy. She thinks it would be good to just have those two talk to each other, well talk in a sense, because they are alike in certain ways.

I wonder why Mitchell stutters. If it's something he's always had, or if it's nerves. But it's okay. After we talk for awhile, I don't notice it as much. He says cool at least ten times, but that's okay too. I cry too much, he says cool too much. Everyone has their things. But the more we talk, the less he says cool and the less I feel like crying.
Levi is very kind to Mitchell. And it's only because Levi is changing, he starting to care about things again. He brings Mitchell into the fold of his new friends and they welcome him with open arms as well. They all get along so good and have to much fun having sleep overs and just hanging out.
And one day it only takes Delilah's little three-year-old sister Lucy to bring Levi out of his shell. Slowly but surely he breaks free and he does it for that little girl. I'm not saying any more, it's just sweet.
Toward the end of the book I was over all of the sad crying and actually laughing at some of their antics. And then I cried because of good things. Sigh.. :-) It's a wonderful book, I'm so glad I got to read it.

Me da mucha pena no poderle dar más de 3 estrellas, porque me ha parecido una historia bonita, tierna, triste ... y aquí va mi "PERO".
La primera mitad de la historia, me ha parecido razonablemente progresiva, pero al empezar la segunda mitad de la historia, en vez de seguir desarrollandose de manera natural, el protagonista Levi, cambia por completo ... de repente es como si todos sus problemas se evaporasen, y volviera a ser una persona normal y feliz de golpe y porrazo.
Demasiado rapido como de repente actúa con Delilah y demasiado forzado como deja de sufrir crisis de ansiedad, ataques de panico o incluso comienza a hablar.
Si no hubiera sido por todo eso, y si la historia se hubiera desarrollado en la misma progresividad que al principio, podría habe quedado una historia de 10 .. pero esos PEROS de antes, han hecho que valore más negativamente la historia.

Remember ha sido una historia que me ha sorprendido en todo momento. Pensé que sería un libro que se iba a centrar en la historia amorosa entre dos personajes, como suele pasar casi siempre, pero no. En esta caso nos encontramos a un protagonista roto, un protagonista con depresión y ansiedad, y estos temas son los principales en el libro. Sí, nos encontraremos en sus páginas también una historia romántica, pero la verdad es que se va cociendo a fuego lento y hace que la lectura sea muy agradable. Creo que se han llevado muy bien los temas que se tocan, y yo os lo recomiendo un montón. A parte ha sido una lectura muy adictiva.

Al principio empezó bien y me estaba gustando mucho porque el protagonista iba progresando mucho, pero luego a más de la mitad del libro vi que la autora escribía por escribir...la verdad que me ha decepcionado un poco. Tampoco me ha gustado mucho el final...en fin. Le pongo 3,5 porque todo lo demás ha merecido la pena. Ya os contaré mas detalladamente en una reseña en mi blog o en el canal ☺.

le doy su merito por que lo leí rápido pero el libro es bastante aburrido y siempre recae en el mismo error. No es mas que una simple fanfic que fue publicada, el romance es terrible y aburrido, realmente nunca había leído una pareja mas aburrida y forzada que esta.

This was a pretty good book. There were a lot of things that were unrealistic, so that was a little annoying. But other then that, I really enjoyed it! It was an easy read, and very interesting. I loved all the side characters personalities! They were all just so fun and quirky. And the main character Levi was very interesting. I honestly read this so fast because of him. I just kept wanting to know more about him. He intrigued me so much…….and that does not sound weird or creepy at all! Lol Anyways, good read, and happy I read it. It was also fun starting yesterday at like 11:30 AM, and then staying up till 2:00 AM finishing it! 😆

Audiobook Review: 5+++ Stars
I really don’t know what got into me the moment I decided to read this book—I always run away from angsty books—but I’m grateful I did. First of all, I have to say this book—and audiobook—is beyond perfect. Levi’s story is heartbroken, but it is also full of hope. This book is about forgiveness, family, friendship, love and above all, hope. I’m in awe with the author’s writing style, it’s fluent and flawless, but most of all, her ability to create such believable characters. She was able to put into words the mind of a person who suffers of depression and anxiety, and she did it in the most perfect way.
Levi is a seventeen year old boy who’s been suffering of depression and anxiety for the past six months. As a last attempt to help him get better, his parents decided to send him to America where his dad lives. When he arrived to Maine, his first attitude was “ I hate everything and everyone” , but slowly he got the know some great people, Delilah, Aiden, Mitchel and little Lucy, who showed him they all cared for him and wanted to be friends with him. Along with his family and best friend who is back in Australia, Levi started getting better, by forgiving himself and wanting to move on.
I love, love, love Levi with all my heart. At first I wanted to slap him for being so rude, but at the same time I kinda understood him. I wanted to know so badly what had happened that caused him the depression and anxiety and when I finally read it, I was as heartbroken as he was. It was so beautiful to know he met great new friends who helped him so much, especially Delilah. She was the key to Levi. In fact, it was Delilah and her little sister Lucy. They both brought so much happiness to Levi.
Seriously, this story is worth reading. All the angst, sadness, so as the happy and cute moments with Levi and his friends made this book as perfect as it is. The audiobook was so good too. The narrator Will Lasley had the perfect voice and inflexions for Levi, Delilah and all the characters. Will doesn’t have an Australian accent, but to be honest, I didn’t mind that at all. His performance made this book more awesome than it was when I first started reading it, because yes, I got the audiobook when I was like 40% and then I started it all again, and I’m 100% sure I’ll listen to it a couple of more times, I’m obsessed with Levi. #BookHangoverAlert

Note 2: The sequel of Remember to Forget is now available in Wattpad. Despite this book doesn’t end in an awful cliffhanger, there is more to Levi and Delilah’s story. You can read Taking Chances in wattpad now, the latest update is chapter 28 and there will be more soon, hopefully. Warning, the wattpad version has different names for the characters, except Delilah and Lucy, but you’ll get used to them fast enough. I started it this morning and I AM LOVING IT. I cried already.
Note 3: The dream cast for the characters of this book are the boys of 5 Seconds of Summer. I have to say that Luke Hemmings , the dream cast for Levi is so perfect for him! *sigh* My poor heart is in trouble *chuckles*

Oh my goodness can I just scream to the stars about this book??? Basically if you're trying to decide whether or not to read it, DO!!!
I mean seriously! It's completely clean, there's no icky love triangle, it's written in a wonderful and engaging style, and main characters (okay, all the characters) fan-freaking-tastic! Also the romance. 100% yes, all the yes. *squishes them* Seriously, the ADORABLENESS!!

Es un libro muy bello♡
La historia te atrapa y te hace continuar leyendo.
Me parece un libro muy bien logrado, con sus personajes y los problemas que afrontan.
Levi me ha encantado, no sólo siento que es un personaje que crece mucho a lo largo del libro sino que podemos ver ese crecimiento y no me resultó forzado ninguno de sus cambios.
En cuanto a Delilah es un personaje muy dulce, con una paciencia y un amor enorme.
Caleb y Aidan fueron los personajes que me hicieron reír en todo momento y eso dice mucho de ellos.
Lucy se robo mi corazón con su simpleza, ternura e inocencia.
Un libro que habla sobre la superación de la pérdida.

Completes Defence Against the Dark Arts - Reducto: Read a book starting with an R
Not necessarily a book I loved, but I enjoyed my reading experience. I am more amazed at how a 17 year-old wrote this. What was I doing at 17?! Certainly not writing this well lol
I also do very much like the representation in here. It was a hard read, but I'd say it was very important too.

I never read YA fiction. Like ever. I don't really know why, but it's usually just not my thing. So when I came across this book, though I was immediately intrigued by the summary, I was somewhat apprehensive. Will I like it? Will I hate it? Why not give it a shot? So I did. ;)
And I read a 304 page book in 2 days! (Saturday afternoon-ish to Monday morning. It's still two days. XD) So yeah. It had some really good parts, but some other things that made me not love it. Seeing as how it did make me cry, I'm still giving it four stars. (I was originally thinking less for Reasons.)
On a side note... Some of the chapters that are from Levi's POV say "Luke". That really confused me at first, until I realized it must me a misprint. Why is it like that? Was his name originally Luke? Or is it being changed to Luke now? If anyone wants my opinion, I'm voting for Levi. ;)
The characters...
Levi: He aggravated me to pieces sometimes because, in the beginning especially, he's soooo selfish!! Hello, you're not the first person to lose a loved one! But all in all Levi was a deep, flawed, lovable character. :) Most of the book is from his 1st person POV.
Delilah: She was probably my favorite (despite her un-lucky name. ;) LOL.) She really cared for Levi even when he was so awful and rude to her (and to everyone else!!). The chapters that aren't Levi's POV, are Delilah's.
Aiden: Aiden kind of irked me sometimes...especially in the beginning. He's so goofy and childish. Later on though, he improves. ;) He's a good friend to Levi and Delilah, and I was able to appreciate his awesome humor. :P "You're as whipped as the cream."
Caleb: He was just...the best. Caleb was Levi's best friend back in Australia, so most of his character we see through Levi's thoughts and flashbacks, and video chats.
Mitchell: I loved Mitchell's character. He's so sweet, and nice, and rather self-conscious, especially at first. His stuttering problem and how it effects him really makes for an interesting, feel-for-them character. :) (He was great...even if he had purple hair. O_o)
The good...
- LEVI AND DELILAH ARE FELLOW SKITTLE ADDICTS!!!! They're automatically awesome just for that. B-) "Taste the rainbow."
- All the heavy, emotional scenes were just so good. I congratulate the author on being able to pull those off so amazingly.
- This book has oodles of Frozen references! If anyone is a Frozen fan, you should read this book just for that. ;)
- Lucy. :) Lucy is Delilah's little three year-old sister and she's sooo sweet! She really brings out the best in Levi and makes him smile, and laugh, and...whoops! No spoilers, right?
The bad...
- two bad words.
- Once when Levi answers the door he isn't completely dressed. That irked me, and it was totally unnecessary.
- The kids go out on Halloween and their 'adventures' through the haunted house are quite detailed. -_- I don't celebrate Halloween, so that whole part wasn't for me.
- One character has purple hair. Um, in my opinion hair shouldn't be purple.
- Levi has a lip ring. *snarls* That wasn't necessary...
- The characters frequently say they 'hate' each other. It's obvious they don't mean it, but still. :-/

He takes in a quick breath and collapses onto me, his head resting on my shoulder. It takes me by surprise, and I slowly wrap my arms around him. He cries into my shoulder for a while, his tears soaking my shirt. I don't say anything, I let him cry.

"That's what hearts do. It's beating for you."

Door een auto-ongeluk raakt Levi zijn vriendin kwijt. Het leven stopt voor hem, hij trekt zich volledig in zijn schulp en stopt zelfs met praten. Zijn moeder ziet dat het alleen maar slechter met hem gaat en neemt de beslissing om hem naar zijn vader in Amerika te sturen. Eenmaal aan gekomen in Amerika lijkt zijn moeder's beslissing juist averechts te werken. Levi wil helemaal niets van zijn vader weten en zijn gedrag lijkt met de dag erger te worden....
De eerste paar hoofdstukken vond ik Levi's agressieve gedrag heel afstotend, als hij zich zo door het hele boek zou gedragen dan zou dit een heel andere recensie worden. Gelukkig bedaart hij wat, maar heeft af en toe nog steeds woedeaanvallen.
Al lezend kom je erachter waar zijn gedrag vandaan komt. Levi's schuldgevoel. Het is haast verstikkend, voor hemzelf maar ook voor de anderen om hem heen. Hij laat zich door zijn schuldgevoel leiden en haalt uit naar de mensen om hem heen. Iemand moet hem eens vertellen dat die Amerikanen daar wel raad mee weten....of misschien is dat alleen het geval met Aiden en Delilah. Hun ontmoetingen met Levi zijn alles behalve ideaal maar beide zijn, zijn nieuwe vrienden.... ook al wil Levi hier niet aan toegeven. Aiden is op de een of andere manier altijd vrolijk en is bestand tegen Levi's gemene woorden. Delilah is wat kwetsbaarder maar blijft hem willen helpen.
Zowel Aiden als Delilah zijn essentieel in Levi's leven. Door hun aanwezigheid durft hij beetje bij beetje weer.... te leven.
Ik vond "Ik kan je niet vergeten" een heel interessant boek. Het leest lekker weg en wat ik zelf heb ondervonden is dat ik me heel goed in Levi's schoenen kon plaatsen. Zijn emoties waren heel herkenbaar, voelbaar zelfs. Ik voelde zijn angst, zijn verwarring en nog belangrijker ik voelde zijn schuldgevoel. Daar doelt het verhaal ook om, aan de ene kant wil Levi zijn overleden vriendin niet vergeten. Hij heeft veel met haar meegemaakt en was helemaal gek op haar. Hij wil haar in zijn gedachten in leve houden, maar dit wordt versterkt en uiteindelijk overschaduwd door zijn schuldgevoel. Waardoor hij aan de andere kant als het ware vast komt te zitten. En niet meer aan haar gedachtenis kan ontsnappen. Ik vond het heel mooi om te lezen hoe hij met hulp van zijn nieuwe vrienden uit die cyclus weet te komen. Het is goed beschreven en alles gaat niet in één keer, waardoor het heel realistisch over komt. Ik heb van het boek genoten, het krijgt vier sterren van mij.
De eerste paar hoofdstukken vond ik Levi's agressieve gedrag heel afstotend, als hij zich zo door het hele boek zou gedragen dan zou dit een heel andere recensie worden. Gelukkig bedaart hij wat, maar heeft af en toe nog steeds woedeaanvallen.
Al lezend kom je erachter waar zijn gedrag vandaan komt. Levi's schuldgevoel. Het is haast verstikkend, voor hemzelf maar ook voor de anderen om hem heen. Hij laat zich door zijn schuldgevoel leiden en haalt uit naar de mensen om hem heen. Iemand moet hem eens vertellen dat die Amerikanen daar wel raad mee weten....of misschien is dat alleen het geval met Aiden en Delilah. Hun ontmoetingen met Levi zijn alles behalve ideaal maar beide zijn, zijn nieuwe vrienden.... ook al wil Levi hier niet aan toegeven. Aiden is op de een of andere manier altijd vrolijk en is bestand tegen Levi's gemene woorden. Delilah is wat kwetsbaarder maar blijft hem willen helpen.
Zowel Aiden als Delilah zijn essentieel in Levi's leven. Door hun aanwezigheid durft hij beetje bij beetje weer.... te leven.
Ik vond "Ik kan je niet vergeten" een heel interessant boek. Het leest lekker weg en wat ik zelf heb ondervonden is dat ik me heel goed in Levi's schoenen kon plaatsen. Zijn emoties waren heel herkenbaar, voelbaar zelfs. Ik voelde zijn angst, zijn verwarring en nog belangrijker ik voelde zijn schuldgevoel. Daar doelt het verhaal ook om, aan de ene kant wil Levi zijn overleden vriendin niet vergeten. Hij heeft veel met haar meegemaakt en was helemaal gek op haar. Hij wil haar in zijn gedachten in leve houden, maar dit wordt versterkt en uiteindelijk overschaduwd door zijn schuldgevoel. Waardoor hij aan de andere kant als het ware vast komt te zitten. En niet meer aan haar gedachtenis kan ontsnappen. Ik vond het heel mooi om te lezen hoe hij met hulp van zijn nieuwe vrienden uit die cyclus weet te komen. Het is goed beschreven en alles gaat niet in één keer, waardoor het heel realistisch over komt. Ik heb van het boek genoten, het krijgt vier sterren van mij.

This wasn't a bad book, but the beginning didn't grab me, so I skipped to chapter 29. It was good from that point to the end and I don't feel like I missed anything by skipping over 20 chapters.
That can be a good thing, the author so fleshed out the characters that no matter where you jump in on the story, they are real to you and you don't need back story on them, or bad if the characters are just tropes the reader can follow along with at any stage of the book.
I would say this is a combo. The characters are kind of trope-y, but they have their own distinct personality, so they aren't just "emo crying depressed boy who wears all black and won't talk", "girl who reminds emo boy of the dead girlfriend", "best friend who stands by emo boy no matter what", "concerned mom and dad". It was close, but they weren't JUST the trope.
Honestly, I think Lucy was the saving grace in the book. She was a typical cute little kid and that worked as a balance. She was a character who was herself despite the adults around her and she is realistic to just about anybody who knows little kids. I don't know anyone like Levi who is going through such a difficult time, so while I could sympathize, I couldn't empathize.
And to be honest, in the beginning, he was a REAL piece of work. He was the reason I skipped ahead. Him and the fact that what happened to his girlfriend didn't come out until much later in the book, at least from what I read. I didn't want a mystery of why he was acting the way he was, I wanted to know the cause of it. Might have mitigated his really nasty behavior in the beginning somewhat.
Not a bad book and it does discuss very serious topics, such as depression and the loss of a loved one on a teen level. Three solid stars.
One addition, this is an imprint of a religious publishing house and unless God was all over the chapters I skipped, He was definitely not even a cameo in this book. That disappointed me.

(After thinking about it, I changed my review from 4 stars to 3)
I don't even know what to think about this book. I absolutely despised the beginning. Levi was so freaking annoying, I couldn't handle it. Ask my family and my goodreads friends, and they'll tell you how much I talked about how I didn't want to read it. But, I finally pushed through and got through the book. The second half was better, I'll admit. Levi wasn't AS annoying. I still don't love him, but I hate him less.
I feel like the portrayal of losing someone you love wasn't super accurate. I've never lost a boyfriend or even best friend, like Levi did. But I have lost my father, and I've felt grief, and I feel like the portrayal of grief wasn't as accurate as it could have been. I totally know and understand that everyone grieves differently, and I'm not saying grief like Levi's isn't possible, but I do think, in my personal opinion, that the grief Levia was facing and his attitude and character in general was poorly written and unaccurate.
I do think this book had some good writing and moments, specifically in the second half. So, my feelings for this book are very mixed. I'm very unattached to any characters and I don't think I'll ever reread it, but there were some good moments and I must commend Ashley Royer for writing and publishing a book at 17! I can say I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It's kinda one of those 'in-between' books.
As far as I remember, this book was clean!

Después de terminar con mi TBR de marzo, no sabía que más leer; así que me decidí por este. Se ve simple y sencillo, pero no creí que tanto. Supongo que las dos estrellas se las doy por las veces que me hizo reír con algún dialogo gracioso(o porque es un fanfic de 5sos aka los amores de mi vida). Intentó ser profundo y dejar huella, pero no lo logró.

✞Trama:Muy prometedora. Vamos, que tenía una idea cliché pero con buen desarrollo pudo haber sido muy bueno; pero no paso. La trama se ve repetitiva y he intentado no juzgarlo tan duramente, debido a los temas que trata; pero no he podido.
✞Personajes: Levi y Delilah. Bien, Delilah me da igual; un poco rara (no entiendo porque tanta insistencia, hasta me parece acosadora, en fin). Luke(o Levi, lo que sea), idk; me caía bien al principio pero su actitud es tan tóxica tanto para él como para los que la rodean, lo siento no pude empatizar con él.

No tenía muy claro qué era lo que podía esperarme de esta novela porque la única pista que tenía era la sinopsis, sin embargo, ha sido una lectura diferente porque trata el tema de la depresión y la ansiedad, algo poco habitual en la literatura juvenil. Pero, ¡eh!, no os hagáis una idea equivocada, porque a pesar de tener un protagonista ahogado en la pena y llevar bastante bien y con credibilidad a lo largo de todo el libro la enfermedad sigue siendo un libro juvenil romántico con varios clichés y una trama sencilla. Resulta entretenido y ameno, se lee en nada porque quieres conocer los motivos del mutismo de Levy, lo que pasó con Delia o cómo va a terminar todo con el joven. También era muy decente el romance porque va poco a poco, tienen sus tira y afloja y son muy monos juntos.
No obstante, no todo ha sido bueno... me ha faltado algo de realismo en algunas escenas que me han parecido forzadas, más profundidad en la historia y menos repetir patrón con los personajes porque llega un momento que resulta monótono; además, se nota que es una escritora novel porque la narración aunque no está mal es demasiado simple, con algunos diálogos que resultan un poco falsos.

Dios, este libro me mantuvo sonriendo la mayor parte del tiempo, creo que se me entumecieron las mejillas de tanto sonreír.
Empiezo por decir que no hubiese comparado el libro si no supiera que era muy probable que me gustara, porque esa portada no me convence, pido perdón, no me gusta, parece editada con los filtros de 2015, y no me gustan las portadas con personas reales en ella, en fin la historia tan maravillosa que tare adentro compensa todo.
Al empezar la historia, yo estaba como que, enserio ¿?, pero a partir de la pagina 100, todo me engancho, me atrapo, me secuestro, alv, me encanto demasiado.
Empiezo por hablar del prota, Levi, que se nos va a vivir a la USA, después de 6 meses de la muerte de su primer amor el cual todavía no superaba, y como el destino es una mierda, ¿Qué se encuentra en la USA? una chica que le recuerda mucho a Delia, su novia la muerta (mk su novia la muerta suena bien feo JKASDJKASJKDJASJDK). Se podría decir que este libro esta narrado de la perspectiva del chico, ya que las veces que narra Levi, son mayoría a las que narra Delilah, la chica que le recuerda a su novia la muerta (me siento mal diciendo su novia la muerta).
Levi desde la muerte de Delia, no habla, en sus palabras "Si ella no puede hablar, yo tampoco lo hare", al comenzar su nueva vida en la USA, junto a su padre con el cual no se lleva muy bien del todo que digamos, pude observar los intentos de salir adelante de Levi,, como las personas que conoce a pesar de tu actitud de aléjate porque odio todo y te puedo putear, siempre tratan de apoyarlo no dejarlo solo, y fue algo que ame demasiado, las amistades que llegaron a Levi.
Delilah, a pesar de todos los intentos de Levi, de alejarla, ellas siempre estuvo presente, ayudándolo en lo que pudiera, ya que la muerte de la novia la muerta, trajo consigo ansiedad, y muchas cosas, etc. Delilah siempre quiso estar ahí para el.
Fan de como su "romance" intentos de "conocerse" "amistad" , fueron llevados poco a poco (porque no me gusta el insta-love), y el desenlace de esta historia, fue demasiado lindo.
Me encanto ver el progreso de Levi y su personalidad, su estabilidad emocional y mental, al transcurso del libro, y ver que siempre tenia a las personas correctas de su lado.

«Spesso le cose migliori che ci capitano non sono quelle che stavamo cercando.»
Un nuovo fenomeno nato da Wattpad e scritto da una giovanissima ha attirato la mia attenzione. I protagonisti sono Levi e Delilah, un ragazzo che ha smarrito se stesso in seguito a un evento traumatico e una ragazza che tenterà con tutte le sue forze di stargli accanto, nonostante tutto. In realtà questo romanzo, pur essendo narrato dal POV di Levi e da quello di Delilah, ha un unico indiscusso protagonista: Levi. È intorno a lui che gira la storia, è suo il dolore, è sua la ricerca di una nuova vita. Perdere Delia, il suo primo amore, in un incidente gli ha cambiato la vita e l’ha portato a chiudersi in se stesso. Da quella sera Levi ha smesso di parlare, o più semplicemente ha smesso di vivere. Divorato dai sensi di colpa ha scelto di punirsi, di morire, metaforicamente, insieme al suo amore. Sua madre, sempre più preoccupata, le ha provate tutte: terapia, riunioni di gruppo con ragazzi con traumi simili al suo. Nulla ha funzionato. L’ultima spiaggia è fargli cambiare ambiente, mandarlo da suo padre nel Maine. Quando Levi parte con una valigia e pochi effetti personali sono esattamente centosettantanove giorni che non parla, centosettantanove giorni che Delia non c’è più. Non passa giorno senza che lui conti, perché contare lo aiuta a ricordare che la colpa è solo sua, che Delia non sarà più al suo fianco e lui è l’unico colpevole.
La tenerezza con cui suo padre lo accoglie mi ha commosso. Inizialmente Levi descrive suo padre come un genitore che non si è mai realmente interessato al figlio, ma i fatti dicono il contrario. Ho visto un padre smarrito, che vuole a tutti i costi stare vicino al figlio, aiutarlo in questo momento difficile e vederlo uscire dal silenzio in cui è piombato. Ho visto tutti i suoi tentativi di avvicinamento e di comprensione fallire sotto l’indifferenza del ragazzo e mi si è stretto il cuore. A volte entrare nella mente di un adolescente è davvero complicato e per quanto ci si sforzi di riuscirci non è possibile farlo, non finché non sarà lui a deciderlo.
Mentre i suoi coetanei frequentano la scuola, Levi passa le giornate chiuso in casa a rimuginare, non ha hobby, non c’è niente che gli interessi o che gli dia uno scopo di vita. L’incontro con Delilah, il cui nome somiglia così tanto a quello di Delia, lo riporta indietro nel tempo e gli lancia un messaggio chiaro: deve stare lontano da quella ragazza. Anche fisicamente le due ragazze sembrano somigliarsi e tanto basterà a Levi per odiarla.
Per qualche ragione che non emerge nel romanzo, Delilah tenta continuamente di approcciarsi a Levi, nonostante il ragazzo sia scontroso, diffidente, scortese. Giorno dopo giorno riuscirà a scalfire la sua corazza e a scoprire il Levi che si è nascosto per tanto tempo.Remember: un amore indimenticabile è una tenera storia di crescita. È la storia di un ragazzo che non vuole più vivere ma che grazie alla forza dell’amore, dell’amicizia e della famiglia riesce a emergere dal buio in cui era piombato, trovando un nuovo senso. Levi ha perso la strada, ha perso l’obiettivo, e solo l’amore delle persone che ha accanto riuscirà a dargli nuovamente la forza per superare il trauma e ricominciare a vivere. Riscoprirà la bellezza della vita e dei sentimenti pian piano, ostacolo dopo ostacolo. Lo farà senza crederci, perché per lui ormai la vita è segnata. Lo farà spinto continuamente da Delilah, da Aiden, il suo nuovo amico, e dai suoi genitori che non lo abbandoneranno mai. La vera fortuna di Levi è aver trovato delle persone che lo amano così com’è, che intendono farlo rinascere e farebbero di tutto per vederlo di nuovo sorridere e parlare.
È una storia che si prende il suo tempo per decollare, che procede per gradi. Ogni cosa viene svelata al momento giusto, mai prima. Il lettore cammina accanto a Levi, gli stringe la mano nei momenti più difficili, lo incoraggia quando lo vede prossimo alla sconfitta, gli dà una pacca sulla spalla quando finalmente prende il coraggio a due mani e sfida il suo dolore. È una storia che, nonostante i temi trattati – molto delicati, tristi e dal forte impatto emotivo – non sconvolge. Il racconto del dolore di Levi è sempre delicato, espresso con riserbo, in maniera incisiva ma non eccessiva, emotiva ma non distruttiva. L’autrice non ha altro scopo se non dare voce a un ragazzo che crede di essersi perso, dare voce a chi ha deciso di non comunicare più con il mondo. E mostra a qualsiasi ragazzo che si trova in una situazione simile a quella del protagonista quanto sia bello, dopo un periodo buio, difficile, fatto di temporali e nuvoloni, riscoprire l’arcobaleno, la luce. Non ci saranno mai tante nuvole da impedire al sole di tornare.
L’approccio delicato che l’autrice usa per trattare temi importanti è una lama a doppio taglio: se da una parte rende la storia perfetta per abbracciare una fascia più ampia di lettrici, dall’altra va a edulcorare fin troppo emozioni e stati d’animo che avrei voluto mi arrivassero con un impatto maggiore.Delilah è un gran bel personaggio positivo, è la luce che fa sparire il buio, quella luce che ognuno di noi dovrebbe trovare sul suo cammino dopo tanta sofferenza, è il miracolo personale di Levi. Senza lei sono certa che il ragazzo non si sarebbe aperto di nuovo al mondo; in un modo tutto suo ha saputo dargli sicurezza, fiducia, forza.
Mi sento di promuovere questo romanzo anche solo per i numerosi messaggi di positività e di speranza che dà. Nel corso della lettura troverete dei veri e propri insegnamenti di vita che mi portano a consigliare Remember: un amore indimenticabile anche alle giovanissime. La storia d’amore è appena accennata, non ci sono scene di sesso. Amo il romance e sono sempre alla ricerca del romanticismo, ma vi assicuro che nell’ultimo periodo sto imparando ad apprezzare queste storie di crescita che hanno tanto da insegnare anche a noi adulti. Non si finisce mai di imparare!

Riscoprirà la bellezza della vita e dei sentimenti pian piano, ostacolo dopo ostacolo. Lo farà senza crederci, perché per lui ormai la vita è segnata. Lo farà spinto continuamente da Delilah, da Aiden, il suo nuovo amico, e dai suoi genitori che non lo abbandoneranno mai. La vera fortuna di Levi è aver trovato delle persone che lo amano così com’è, che intendono farlo rinascere e farebbero di tutto per vederlo di nuovo sorridere e parlare.
È una storia che si prende il suo tempo per decollare, che procede per gradi. Ogni cosa viene svelata al momento giusto, mai prima. Il lettore cammina accanto a Levi, gli stringe la mano nei momenti più difficili, lo incoraggia quando lo vede prossimo alla sconfitta, gli dà una pacca sulla spalla quando finalmente prende il coraggio a due mani e sfida il suo dolore. È una storia che, nonostante i temi trattati – molto delicati, tristi e dal forte impatto emotivo – non sconvolge. Il racconto del dolore di Levi è sempre delicato, espresso con riserbo, in maniera incisiva ma non eccessiva, emotiva ma non distruttiva. L’autrice non ha altro scopo se non dare voce a un ragazzo che crede di essersi perso, dare voce a chi ha deciso di non comunicare più con il mondo. E mostra a qualsiasi ragazzo che si trova in una situazione simile a quella del protagonista quanto sia bello, dopo un periodo buio, difficile, fatto di temporali e nuvoloni, riscoprire l’arcobaleno, la luce. Non ci saranno mai tante nuvole da impedire al sole di tornare.
L’approccio delicato che l’autrice usa per trattare temi importanti è una lama a doppio taglio: se da una parte rende la storia perfetta per abbracciare una fascia più ampia di lettrici, dall’altra va a edulcorare fin troppo emozioni e stati d’animo che avrei voluto mi arrivassero con un impatto maggiore.Delilah è un gran bel personaggio positivo, è la luce che fa sparire il buio, quella luce che ognuno di noi dovrebbe trovare sul suo cammino dopo tanta sofferenza, è il miracolo personale di Levi. Senza lei sono certa che il ragazzo non si sarebbe aperto di nuovo al mondo; in un modo tutto suo ha saputo dargli sicurezza, fiducia, forza.
Mi sento di promuovere questo romanzo anche solo per i numerosi messaggi di positività e di speranza che dà. Nel corso della lettura troverete dei veri e propri insegnamenti di vita che mi portano a consigliare Remember: un amore indimenticabile anche alle giovanissime. La storia d’amore è appena accennata, non ci sono scene di sesso. Amo il romance e sono sempre alla ricerca del romanticismo, ma vi assicuro che nell’ultimo periodo sto imparando ad apprezzare queste storie di crescita che hanno tanto da insegnare anche a noi adulti. Non si finisce mai di imparare!

Purtroppo è un ❌ NO. Avevo in libreria questo romanzo da diversi anni e forse avrei dovuto lasciarlo dove era. Il libro è di una superficialità pazzesca, mai letto nulla di così banale e ingannevole. Libro consigliato (al massimo) per tredicenni, come primo approccio ai problemi psicologici e mutismo selettivo. La cosa che mi ha fatto storcere il naso più di ogni altra è il messaggio che l’autrice sembra voler mandare, ovvero che l’amore di un altra persona può risolvere le nostre difficoltà psicologiche, trovo tutto questo sbagliatissimo; io credo che solo l’amore per noi stessi e l’accettazione di noi stessi, anche se imperfetti, può permetterci di superare determinati problemi. Per carità, immagino(e spero) che l’autrice avesse buone intenzioni tuttavia la riuscita è di basso livello, un vero peccato perché l’idea di base era interessante.

Es una novela entretenida que trata un tema muy importante como la salud mental. Enseguida me tuvo enganchada pero, a medida que avanzaba la historia, sentía que no me gustaba tanto como yo quería. A los personajes les faltaba profundidad, en ocasiones hacían cosas de críos y de repente te soltaban un diálogo muy maduro y no terminaba de cuajar esa actitud. La trama ha ido de más a menos, se volvió muy predecible y todo se resolvió demasiado fácil.

Ho messo questo libro in currently reading e sono arrivata al 30% del libro, più o meno.
Poi non me la sono sentita più e l'ho abbandonato, allora l'ho rimosso anche dall'elenco dei libri di Goodreads con l'intento di non leggerlo più.
Ritrovandomi nel bel mezzo di una conversazione con amici, però, mi sono ricordata di quanto sia importante dare pareri anche negativi, oltre che ai positivi. Chi legge le recensioni di un libro lo fa per trovarci belle parole e convincersi, ma a volte anche per trovare gli aspetti negativi che potrebbero non piacere.
Io stessa a volte sono impaurita quando devo comprare qualcosa ed ho bisogno di sapere cosa mi aspetta, soprattutto quando in copertina leggo "Wattpad".
Non ho niente contro Wattpad (perché forse qualcuno sa che ci scrivo anche io lì sopra), anzi penso che ci siano delle storie abbastanza valide. La mia domanda è: quando le trovano, queste cose valide, le case editrici? Me lo chiedo perché fino ad ora io non ho visto tutte queste meraviglie, poi non so voi.
Mi sono armata di pazienza - me n'è servita davvero tanta - e ho provato a continuare a leggerlo. Quanto ci avrò messo a stancarmi? 10 minuti?
Purtroppo questo libro ha un grosso difetto che non sono riuscita proprio a superare: non ha una trama coinvolgente, non ha personaggi dei quali mi faceva piacere conoscere la storia e l'inizio è davvero irreale e un po' stupido.
Vi spiego la prima cosa tra le tante che mi viene in mente, ovvero la scelta del protagonista di non parlare più con nessuno in seguito ad un trauma.
Ora questo potrebbe essere un argomento molto serio perché esistono le persone che per parte della loro vita vivono in uno stato di shock e non vogliono comunicare con la gente, lo sappiamo tutti.
La cosa che non mi è piaciuta però è che il protagonista non parla con le parole, non emette suoni, però scrive le cose che vuole dire o utilizza il suo cellulare per parlare con la gente.
A questo punto, mi spiegate che senso ha il silenzio?
Non è un silenzio che vuole tenere chiuso fuori il mondo, non è un silenzio neanche di protesta. Se vuoi fare le cose, falle per bene.
Non mi sembra neanche che sia un problema di natura psicologica, a questo punto. Non ho proprio capito questa scelta.
Tutti scambiano il protagonista per sordomuto e a me verrebbe da dirgli "ma ti ci volevo a essere veramente così"...
E niente poi l'unica altra sensazione, a parte il fastidio, era la noia. Io proprio non riuscivo a leggere le parole, ero sempre lì lì per addormentarmi e alla fine ho lasciato.
Io che abbandono un libro... sacrilegio.

Oh man, I am really glad that I pushed through those few chapters in the beginning because this book was amazing!! So at first I really hated Levi's attitude towards things, he was a huge jerk. Now don't go commenting about me having no heart, just listen to me first. I understand what he is going through and I loved seeing him fight through his troubles and coming out with a brighter future. Reading realstic fiction is always so refreshing because it proves that even the disabled and the depressed can find loved and be loved.
Okay can I just say that once I got to learn more about Levi's character that I feel in love with him. He was a great guy who just was trying to get through life after his girlfriend's death. I also really liked Delilah, she was so sweet and caring. She also had the right kind of compassion that Levi needed while going through these rough patches in his life.
I highly recommend this book to everyone, except to people who this may causes triggers to. Please be mindful that this book contains some very heavy contents of Depression and anxiety.
Also, the romance in this book is to die for because it is clean and sweet!! They also have so many cute and funny frozen puns because of Delilah's sister, Lucy. She is so cute and she brought out a really cute side of Levi!! Also, Delilah and Levi are fellow skittle addicts and they eat skittles all the time and I love skittles!! They are probably one of the best candies out there!
Please read this, if you can! I guarantee you, you won't regret it!!

Remember to Forget provided an interesting premise of a teenage boy who stopped talking after the death of his girlfriend. While I appreciated many of the messages about dealing with grief, I didn't really click with the simplistic writing style. There was very little description, which made it difficult to immerse myself in the story. There were also several times characters did things that didn't seem realistic.
I have to point out, though, that the author was quite young when she wrote this book, and that in itself is impressive.
