Parallel Lives is a story of love between two people whose lives would not have made a connection if not for the hand of fate that derails them from the regular course of their routine. Donovan, who works for Steinbender Corporation, is dedicated to his business obligations to the point of choosing celibacy, and as a result his life is devoid of real human contact. “Donovan rarely saw a sunrise or sunset from anywhere other than a jet airplane of office window.” Andrea, a dedicated trauma nurse, takes care of her terminally ill mother and finds no time for minor things like dating. Her mother worries about her complete self-sacrifice. “I just don’t want you to be alone.”

From the beginning, I could see how each one of them, imperfect as they may be, are perfectly suited to the other and routed for the moment they would realize it, too. A medical emergency brings him into her path, and dramatically change the course of their lives.

Michelle Morgan breathes life into the characters and brings into play the contrasts between them.

I like this book, it's one I'm going to keep and not donate to the library. The storyline is fun and sweet and I like the characters. There is a little bit of language, but no descriptive love scenes, which is awesome. Although the story as a whole is easy to read there are sentences scattered throughout the book that don't make sense and there are repeated words.I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good love story.

I started reading this book thinking it was about a daughter taking care of her dying mom. While this is part of the book, there is so much more. I was pleasantly surprised. The main characters are written so well that you really like them. I cried in a few different scenes, yes I did. The love/sex scenes are not described in detail, which was appropriate for this style of book. Audra is a nurse in an ER Department at the local hospital. Her mom Clare is terminally ill. There is a big secret that comes to light and changes, not only their lives, but two men that we will adore. The only negative I will say is, I would fire the person or company that edited this book for grammar/spelling errors. Probably the worst in any book I have ever read.

This is an interesting, well written story that delves into the lives of a few people and shows how the past can come back and change everything we thought we knew, The author does a great job writing this story of love, loss and heart touching dram. I found the story compelling and loved the way the author connected everything together.
