Jason Brubaker, the author, works in the same building as my husband. Occasionally their paths cross, and Jason gave my husband a copy of Sithrah: Possibilities. I have not met Jason, however; this is the first of his four books I've read.

Having only read the second book and not the first in the series, I felt a tad lost at first but soon caught onto the plot, which centers on Vonna's search for the plane carrying her father and herself when it crashed.

The best thing about Sithrah: Possibilities is Brubaker's stunning art. Every picture is full color, and the emotional intensity of facial expressions and setting details add depth to the plot and tension among various characters.

By virtue of the form, I often find the GN writing style thin; however, Brubaker has a few excellent syntactical structures and some figurative language. But it's the art that captivates.

I imagine that Brubaker will continue working to add depth to the plot and dimensionality to the characters.

Finally, the books are pricey, which is typical of the GN genre. Once readers see the superb glossies that comprise every page and the cloth binding, they'll know why there's a caching factor at work, and they see why Brubaker's self-publishing company goes by the name Coffee Table Comics.

The first volume of Sithrah was a little slow to catch my attention, but I'm glad I supported the second kickstarter because this next one is much more interesting. Now that we've established basic characters and situations, we can start exploring, ever so slowly peeking into this new, fantastical world Brubaker has created. The art is stunning, the book quality is well worth the price, and also, CAT! I love Brubaker's cats, ok? Especially when they can communicate with spooky entities existing just parallel to us.

If you're a fan of ReMind or futuristic fantasy comics in general, Sithrah is worth your time.

4.25/5 🌟

The first and second books could have been an single book, perfectly intertwining the journeys of both main characters! I've always been captivated by Dino's story—his connection to the dark and his bond with The Author is fascinating. Every choice he makes is so weighty, as the shadows still loom over him, influencing his path.

And let's not forget about the cat—whose name escapes me (Simon I think)—having a unique and solid relationship with Sitherah even before Nirvana crosses paths with him! It's so interesting that Sitherah, just like Nirvana, is completely mesmerized by her ability to see him and isn't terrified at all. There is also this mystery of why others are scared of the ideas of Sitherah’s.

I'm fascinated with the glimpse into how a Sitherah interacts with those they protect! The sand people who are unable to see their guardians, yet feeling their presence when they raise their hands in front of their eyes—it's like unlocking a secret world!

Jason Brubaker is one of my favorite artists and storytellers. I adore this story, these characters, and the way he goes about portraying them; it even delves into some deeper themes without explicitly stating them, such as spiritual warfare - a refreshing diversion from a typical comic story. What really makes this book, though, is the artwork. It's crisp and unique and beautiful, the lighting is killer. Excellently done!

Volume 2 introduces a new character, Dino, a young man desperately trying to escape a dark destiny. This second book certainly gets darker than the first. The story stays whimsical and fun (the landscapes are lovely, and the relationship between Nirvana and Sithrah is beautiful), but there are some deep heartbreaking and terrifying elements as well. Overall, it doubles down on the intrigue. I can't wait to read the remaining four books.

Beautiful, stunning! Loved the progression of the story, which was totally engrossing from page 1. The introduction of Dino brings another interesting element to an already captivating story.

Jason Brubaker's art work is second-to-none! Every piece helps tell an amazing story. Jason really is on top of his game. I will buy/support every graphic novel he creates at this point. He is truly a master at his craft!!

Beautiful work as always from Jason Brubaker! The artwork is stunning, as those of us who've read his previous books have come to expect, and the writing/storytelling is solid as well. I always enjoy Brubaker's panelling style for his comic books; it's unusual and inventive, but still practical.

I'm intrigued by the new character, Dino, as there is clearly more to him and his past than has been revealed to us yet. I look forward to finding out more about him! I have to confess, I was a little surprised at the slightly darker turn of this book; I'm not sure why, but I thought the series was going to be more lighthearted than this. However, that is certainly not a bad thing, and I am excited to see where the story goes once Vonna learns the truth!

Beautiful art, just like the first book in this series. Also like the first book, this felt a bit short, as it took me about thirty minutes to read. I enjoyed the introduction to the new character Dino, and it sounds like there's a lot more to his story.

Interesting to see the title character named at last. This volume feels more complete than book 1, and it certainly has a lot more pages. The writing and dialogue feel more fleshed out, and the book itself is that much more substantial.

Really wonderful artwork and is slowly feeding more about the world while still leaving plenty to want to come back to. I enjoyed this even more than volume one.
