I LOVE fashion and style books, this book is so small, yet so pretty, filled with cool illustrations and styling ideas for jewelry and how to wear them... beautiful!
Would give this a 2.5 if I could. It's kinda weird to read a tutorial on how to wear jewelry, although some of the tips were good and I would not have thought of. But, like I said, why someone needs a guide, I don't know. I did enjoy the aesthetics of the book art, however.
My daughters and I thought this was a cool book. Very pretty cover and illustrations with some good basic info on different types of jewelry, their names, and various ways to style them.
Great book for those that want to get more into accessories! It has great tips and is a short sweet. Great for fashion lovers and jewelry beginners. Highly recommended!!
As someone who doesn’t wear much jewellery through learned behaviour (school uniforms) I found this book rather hard to digest.
The art was aesthetically pleasing, but the thought of someone having that much jewellery surprised me. I have a mix of hand-me-downs, secondhand costume, and some larger pieces...clearly I don’t have a signature style.
Perhaps if there was a quiz or chapter dedicated to finding your favourite jewellery style in the beginning (more than the icons and inspiration) this book would fit readers like me.
It's a very basic guide to jewelry. I think it might be a good gift for a teenage girl or someone who hasn't worn jewelry before, but it's too basic for most adult women. It has a couple good tips in the how to stack necklaces by season, and offers some advice on stacking rings that is at least not obvious, but other sections weren't as interesting.
This book itself is fashionable. It can be a readable ornament at a stylish cafe. I like jewelry but it’s hard for me to coordinate, so this book is helpful for me.
This small format book is like those articles in magazines like Glamour or Mademoiselle about style. It shows the various types of jewelry, the best seasons to wear it in, and the best clothing to wear with the different styles. Line drawings that are almost vintage feeling show each example. Would be a good stocking stuffer for an early teen who likes Seventeen. I didn’t learn anything from in (other than that diamonds can be cut in a shape called ‘trillient’) but it would be great for a young girl.
This is a beautiful book. The texture of the paper, gold foil embossing, whimsical illustrations and layout are without flaw. The visual allure of this book is why I give it two stars. The content is trite and one-sided, and provides an extremely limiting view of jewelry and its function in self-expression. I bought this book despite its content—merely because it is pretty. Kudos to the graphic designers on this one.
