This book finished up a lot of loose ends from books 1 and 2. The series is definitely best read in order from the beginning to understand just how bad Hess really is. By this book, I wanted someone - anyone! to kill the guy.
I read the first two books in this series and really liked them. They are excellent thrillers. But this one totally blew me away. It started with a boom and built from there, not letting up until the end. I couldn't stop reading it even though I was supposed to be doing other things.:) Talk about a thriller! There was also an excellent romance involved but it just pushed the plot farther and harder. Must go get more of her books!
Best read in order, then you know the characters, finish’s up some of the loose ends. Hess went to prison once, saying not guilty, breaks out, wanting revenge. Everything Val loves he wants to destroy . They work together will anything stop him and the havoc he is causing. Good series
The story was not really complicated enough to have me unable to out it down. But just enough to make good reading. This was a story that incorporated several different law enforcement agencies and had several different side tracks. A nice detective story.
Just great is about all I can say. If you keep up with Ann's books, then you will enjoy this one just like the rest! Intense, heart pounding, thriller of a book!
Excellent read. I always enjoy Peterson's books, but I especially like the ones where characters from co-authors' books come together in one story. I rate this one 5 stars.
AVP. had. penned a mystery about a border line, if not, serial killer who she has a hand in seeing that he was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced for his horrid crimes. The man arrived at the prison and shortly thereafter he is able to escape. The police begin a manhunt, but our detective knows him like a book. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
This has been the best so far in the series - riveting, and very well described, especially the physical exertions of Lund, Grace and Val, as they battle the 'monster', Dixon Hess. The scenery and weather are also completely imaginable. I'm not sure if I believe that Hess is actually dead though ..... Book 4 coming up!

The third book in the Val Ryker series, enjoyed this one the most of the three. A lot of the angst from the first two books finally gets cleared up. Jack Daniels and Harry McGlade made their presence known in this book. Good read.
