Lawrence and Steph Brooks spent years fighting their love, and then they fought their way back to each other. After earning their happy, swoon-worthy ending, they were intent on keeping it. But a few years, a fledgling business, and a couple of kids later, Steph and Lawrence learn that falling in love was the easy part and happily ever after isn't for sissies. With life bearing down on them, they can't always escape the fall, but they can do it with style. *Falling with Style is a companion novella to Swoon, but may be read as a standalone.*
Oh, Lawrence! I still love you and I’m pretty sure I fell even harder this time around!
“You are not seducing me in my office.” “Why not?” “I have things to do!” I sputtered. “I know. Me.”
Falling with Style is a short (much too quick, in my opinion) story about Steph and Lawrence’s life since they have been married. We got to see the entire gang with Lissa and Ethan, and Ivy and Patrick, too! I absolutely adored the entire thing. It was over much too quickly, but it was oh, so good while it lasted.
It was such a realistic look into married life and juggling kids, work, and your spouse. So many things rang true to my life and I loved being able to relate to it. I also loved how much Lawry still loved Steph, and vice versa. Thank you for this perfect little snippet into one of my fave couples! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

I can’t even tell you how happy my heart is right now. Can you read this over the beam of my smile? I’d try to turn it down for you, but this novella deserves every exposed tooth in this giant goofy grin.
The odds were stacked against it. I’m not a huge fan of novellas—I tend to feel like things fizzle out just as they start ramping up, and I usually find myself unsatisfied and let down. I am also sometimes wary of picking up a book about the struggles of marriage, because I’m living the struggles of marriage and children and all the complications therein, and I read to escape. However, this book completely and effortlessly overcame any misgivings that I had. It sometimes felt like therapy. It sometimes felt like maybe Ms. Foss was writing about my own life (and then I’d look around, like, how does she know these things?!). It always—every single moment I spent reading it—felt good. Ms. Foss knocked it out of the park, and this book felt like a gift to her readers.
Steph and Lawrence are so real. I loved this peek into their life after Swoon. They’re funny and sweet, affectionate and sexy. They communicate in a way that felt authentic to me—as did their struggles with balance and time. I literally read almost this entire book with a smile plastered on my face, occasionally giggling and at least once gasping out loud over how awesome it was. This is for sure, hands down, the best novella I’ve ever read. It will mean more to you if you’ve read Swoon first (and it will mean even MORE to you if you’ve also read Shiver and City Beautiful), but I think it also stands on its own as this short, sweet, beautiful little story about how love changes, grows, struggles, strengthens, deepens and matures over the course of a lifetime together.
In the end, Falling With Style felt like a gift to readers. An update on characters we’ve known and loved, and a captured moment in time in a marriage filled with love, laughter, and all twists and turns that real life has to offer. It’s wonderful, light hearted, heartwarming and…real. I loved every second. ~ Shelly, 5 stars
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is a companion novella to Swoon you should read that one first!
I absolutely LOVED this book holy cow! I just love the stories CM has to tell. I was very happy to get this novella because I enjoyed Swoon so much. I can't seem to get enough of these characters and was sad when I had gotten to the end I wanted it to keep going on and on.
Even though this is a novella CM was able to touch on all the feels. I can't wait to read more by her she has fast become one of my very favorite authors!
The best part of this book? It's life - not billionaires, not rock stars, not Hollywood starlets. It's marriage and parenthood and exhaustion and frustration. It's REAL love, with real world problems between characters who could be you or me or someone we know. If you want an honest look at what romance looks like after the newlywed stage, this is the perfect book!

It is official people, CM Foss is my current author crush. She has once again managed to make me fall in love with her writing. Falling With Style continues the love affair between Queenie and her Lawry as they embark on their happy ever after journey.
I love how Ms. Foss portrays their life after marriage. It reminded me of how when the story ends we never get to see how the couples cope. Just because they have found love does it mean life is a bed of rose and everything is peachy-keen. Life is what it is, it’s how we handle stuff that makes or breaks us. That’s what this story was about. Will my swoony and perfect BBF, Lawry be able to have his happy ever after after the I Dos?
Well for starters, their HEA comes with kids, adorable yet destructive kids. Plus they have a new business that also needed all their attention and love. So what do they do? Like everyone else, they struggle and juggle and try to manage. Yet it must be so hard to manage everything and still have time for each other. Lawry was as usual his swoony self, but Steph was the one who ruled my heart. She became the woman she was meant to be, helped of course by the perfect Lawry. I did wonder at times how she managed to juggle so much with so little time. I loved the banter between the couple, which again warmed me over. People this is what love is like, you struggle, you fight, you make up and do it all over again.
Then there was Ethan and Lissa and Patrick and Ivy and the stray pets and the fights to keep them together. There was John and Tracy and all the heartbreak surrounding them, I almost had a heart attack at this point. The best thing I learned was the lesson, that when you have a life with someone, you cannot make a go of it alone, you have to share, you have to give and take. You cannot be an island. You have to make sure you are surrounded by the people that love you and that you have help when you need it. All you have to do is not do it alone.
So if you wanna know whether Lawry and Queenie will make it alive and live happily for the rest of their lives, 1-Click this beauty and fall with style like me.
Books revolving around what happens after the happy ending are rapidly become some of my favorites. I’ve come up with a couple of reasons why I’m enjoying these types of plotlines so much: 1) I’m at that stage in my life where that’s what I relate to most. 2) There is so much personal growth to be had as characters enter the trenches of marriage. And, in the case of Falling with Style, I will take advantage of any opportunity I can to experience just a little bit more of the story of some of my favorite fictional friends.
Falling with Style was the perfect way to revisit Lawrence and Steph’s sweet but steamy romance. Now the parents of 4 year old twins, as well as being business owners, they’ve reached the point where the honeymoon is over and work/life balance struggles have taken hold. Deeply rooted in friendship and mutual admiration, their relationship is put to the test in a way that is completely relatable. It’s not a matter of will they or won’t they make it; it’s a matter of how will they join forces to rein in life’s chaos and reach a happy medium again.
They may be a little older and a little wiser, but they’re still the same characters I fell in love with in Swoon. Lawrence still loves to talk about his feelings and Steph hasn’t lost her snark. Yet, in working to adapt to the needs of the other, they both manage to evolve into more well-rounded versions of themselves. As in her previous works, CM crosses over characters from her other books and these scenes were by far some of my favorite that she was written. Her trademark humor and the way her couples have realistic, personal drama-free interactions that scream “relationship goals” is refreshing and just one of the reasons I will always return to her books time and again.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved reading this companion novella to Swoon and devoured it. I found myself smiling and chuckling at the dialog between the characters as I do with all books by CM Foss.
Falling With Style lets us catch up with Steph and Lawry from Swoon. It's 4 years down the road, and we get to see how their business is doing and meet their family. This novella gives a real glimpse into parenthood and the relationship struggles that parents with small children face. "Happily ever after isn't for sissies," that's for sure. Another thing that's for sure is Lawry is as swoon-worthy as ever in this new release.

Lawry and Steph's journey got style ... And I loved it! Review to come. *************************************************
I knew when I met Lawry and Steph in Swoon, They would be one of my fave couples I met in a book. And then Falling With Style happens. And I freaking love them so much more. And I read this novella … Three times!
So how is married life for Lawry and Steph??? Happy, exhausting at times but so full of life and laughter, between the man who loved to talk about emotions and his sassy, and stubborn wife and their two kids.
Lawry is one of my favorite book boyfriends. He’s funny, not afraid to pour his feelings and to challenge his wife and mostly for being an amazing husband, father and also business partner. I might have a sick fascination with Lawry, because that how I love my fictional male characters. I could write all day about him, Le sigh!
Steph is the perfect balance to Lawry’s sensitive side. I loved her craziness, stubbornness and bluntness. She’s the kind of woman to be dedicated to her clients. But sometimes you can’t have it all and Steph is gonna understand the consequences and how it could affect her family. Who will be at her rescue?? Her husband of course! You sexy thing!
Their two kids? Just awesome, two little feisty boys, so cute. I enjoyed reading about their family time, struggling to be a great parent, to give them all the love they deserved, unconditionally. Even if sometimes they drove them nuts! Two boys who could leave a trail in their wake, with little angel faces! And I fall in love with them as well.
Falling in love is one thing, but finding the best balance is another thing. It’s not perfect for sure, sometimes it's messy but that’s how it supposed to be. A great adventure when you don’t take things for granted; when you fight and you work hard, as a team. Communicate and compromise. I’m glad to see how these two finally found their balance, in their own way.
It couldn’t be a CM Foss without a hint of sex, because that’s why I loved her books, writing about romance, “Sweet with a little bit of porn.” You heard me well, there’s some action in this book, just getting hot in here. Lawry not only could make you swoon, but also make you blush and hot!!! Their banter was still off the charts!
For the ones who read the other Books by CM Foss, you’re gonna be pleased! A great and funny reunion, leading to the Greenhouse. A delightful surprise!! I won’t reveal more about it, but it was priceless!
CM, I just wanted to thank you for this novella. Lawry and Steph’s life issues felt real, with situations you could rely on. Finding a balance between family and work is difficult, being a parent is hard, and you wrote it with so much style!
So high five!!This novella is a fabulous gift to your fans, refreshing and entertaining but also for the new ones who haven't read Swoon! Dude, what are you waiting for?

Description taken from Amazon.
The Best Parts: After having been through so much angst with Swoon I think this story was a must. We needed to see Lawrence and Steph together like they should be. Trust me guys. It’s perfect! You get to see them married and going through their live together, their children, their friends, their jobs. It just makes it seem so real and those who are married will feel just how real it is. This sin’t some story that glosses over how perfect married life is, but gives you the reality of it.
Lawrence and Steph are wonderful people who are just trying to live their lives when things just keep getting thrown at them.
The Worst Parts: The whole storyline of John and Tracey being brought it was a little bit of a shock, but then again their whole story line helped Lawrence and Steph grow closer together as well as learning more about their own marriage. This little twist shows the importance of communication between a couple during marriage, and it is shown that even though Steph and Lawrence are good with communicating, they do need to work on it and they do, but it is also up to them to show their new friends that they need to do the same thing. So many great lessons in this book <3
Final Thoughts: This story is definitely swoon-worthy and has you falling in love with these characters all over again. If a man ever needs a book to read where they understand just how to treat their wife, and also understand at the same time that they nor her can always be perfect. This is the book <3
In Falling With Style we get to jump back into the characters lives, Steph and Lawrence, that we loved so much from Swoon. This book takes place 4 years down the road. They've been married for a while now. They have twin boys who run amuck constantly. Nothing is ever perfect. CM Foss' Falling With Style delivers a refreshingly true look at how life after marriage can be, and the struggles that can occur.
Steph and Lawrence were never your typical couple. In Swoon they fought, they had sex, they fought, they had sex, they were friends…..until they finally came together as one entity. They married, and they had big plans--big dreams of starting and running their own horse therapy business.
In Falling With Style, you get to see all of this play out. Foss shows you the ups and downs, the struggles and hardships of not only their new and budding business, but a marriage. Foss doesn't just give you HEA, nope! She gives you the down and dirty, the ins and outs of marital issues and what it's like trying to run a new business, raise kids, and keep your marriage together. This book shows how having a life outside of work is just as important to you and your health as working.
In this book we are also introduced to two new characters, Patrick and Ivy. They are a perfect fit into their little group of friends. I loved being able to meet them as well as see Lissa and Ethan again.
Foss shows you TRUTH. Steph and Lawrence had to conquer obstacles. Each one had "demons' inside that they needed to overcome. In the end, it brought them and their relationship closer together.
Falling with style as so much passion and love between the characters that I just love. I adore each and everyone of the characters and the way Foss brings them to life--brings us to their world. When I'm reading her beautiful writing it's as if I'm there with them! Foss has a wonderful gift that I can't wait to get more of.
"What's it feel like, loving me?" "Well, it's kinda like flying." "Oh Queenie. You know that doesn't impress me. It's just falling with style."
"The Happily Ever After is never the end, it's just the beginning." This is a quote from CM Foss about the premise behind Falling with Style, and I love this idea. The idea that the lives and loves of our favorite characters continue after we finish a books' final chapter. This novella is really a continuation of Lawrence and Steph's stories started in her previous books.
TRUE CONFESSION TIME...I haven't read Swoon or Shiver - YET! I prove the theory that this book can be read as a stand-alone and it is perfectly enjoyable. BUT, now I am anxious to read Swoon and Shiver to get all of the back-stories that I know I'm missing.
I can relate to Lawrence and Steph. They're busy. Full-time jobs and a full-time family, they're trying to balance all of the important things in life and still find time for one another. There are a couple of instances of "interrupted romance" that had me laughing out loud. But, what spoke to me the most about this novella is the tenderness and commitment that Lawrence and Steph have for one another. With all of the distractions and frustrations, they love each other to the core. They're committed to creating a joyful and fulfilling life together. That kind of love and devotion is truly a Happily Ever After.

Swoon should be read before Flying With Style. This novella is a companion. This review contains spoilers if you haven't read Swoon.
C.M. Foss has a gift for taking every day life situations, challenges, and happy moments, and weaving them in to stories that capture your heart. I was a little hesitant to read Flying With Style because I more than got my closure and happy ending with Lawrence snd Steph in Swoon. I know Foss can bring the angst and heartache so it made me nervous what she may throw at this couple. I loved this novella and seeing what life brought Lawrence and Steph. At the end of Swoon they were gearing up for the next chapter in their life together. In Flying With Style, Foss explores that new part of their life, balancing their relationship as a couple, parents and business partners. It was the perfect blend of everything I've come to expect from this series. It was warm, thoughtful, humorous and sexy. Before I read Flying With Style I was unsure of wanting more of Lawrence and Steph since Swoon left me satisfied, now, now I want more!
Falling with Style is a companion book of Swoon, one of my favorite books from 2015. I was super excite to read a little bit more of Stephanie and Lawrence story. As a reader when I love the couple, I always want more, and this book was the perfect more.
Stephanie still love her, Love the way she blows her top...To funny, but she is still the same strong girl. Lawrence, still such a SWOONer.. I freaken love this man. He is the perfect second half to Stephanie. I loved how their relationship continued to grow, despite the craziness of their careers and dreams.
What I love about C.M Foss, is her writing style. It has that little extra something that makes the story so much better. It has that perfect blend of humor, romance and just that bit of struggle. I really enjoyed this book! #MustRead
Oh Lawrence! I still love you and I’m pretty sure I fell even harder this time around!
“You are not seducing me in my office?” “Why not?” “I have things to do!” I sputtered. “I know. Me.”
Falling with Style is a short (much too quick in my opinion) story about Steph & Lawrence’s life since they have been married. We got to see the entire gang with Lissa & Ethan and Ivy & Patrick too! I absolutely adored the entire thing. It was over much too quickly, but it was oh so good while it lasted.
It was such a realistic look into married life and juggling kids, work, and your spouse. So many things rang true to my life and I loved being able to relate to it. I also loved how much Lawry still loved Steph and vice versa. Thank you for this perfect little snippet into one of my fave couples! (5 stars)
I received this book as an ARC but I had every intention of buying it. I am a firm believer in CM Foss' happily ever after doesn't end with marriage but that it is only the beginning. I felt that CM Foss wrote this book with my family in mind, that she wrote it just for me! I totally agree with CM Foss' point that as a couple, you have to take time out for yourselves. I don't know how we made it but my husband and I just took our first alone vacation in 27 years. All too quickly your lives revolve around Kids, Work, Bills. It is so hard to break free from the daily grind. This story touched me deeply! It still contained humor, romance, & even a touch of angst (dealing with PTSD). I would highly recommend this book to anyone who can see the beauty in every day life. CM Foss - my hat & boots off to you! You have won me over again & again!!
Just because we may not end up with the classic happily ever after that we believe we must have, does not mean that the life fate has destined us for can’t be its own brand of happily ever after. CM Foss knows this and it translates into her stories and characters. It is just one of the reasons I love her books so much. She creates worlds and characters with depth. It’s almost impossible not to fall in love with them and cheer them on as they strive to reach their brand of happily ever after. Starting Falling With Style was like slipping into your most favorite comfy pjs. It was so much fun to spend more time with these beloved characters. It made me want to go back to the beginning of Steph and Lawry’s relationship. It also made me want to know and see more of the shenanigans that the entire family will undoubtedly get into. So much fun!
Ugh, what can I say about this lovely novella? I typically hate novellas, they make me more sad than happy. And while I thought Swoon was an amazing book, this little ending may have been even better.
I loved it. It hit me with so many truths I didn't know what to do with myself. I loved that it wasn't all hearts and flowers but a healthy dose of realism with a side of hot Lawry.
Lawry and Steph are the realist fictional couple I've ever read about, and I love them.
CM is so fantastic, if you've never read her books than you are missing out. They are so amazing in such a unique way. I was so excited to learn she continued his story, slightly sad it wasn't longer at first but once I read it I knew that it was the perfect place to hit pause.
Great writing, very easy to read, extremely easy to fall in love with the characters, 5 stars.
I was lucky enough to read Swoon and then jump into this book straight after!
I love Lawrence and Steph, and this author shows the real struggles juggling work and marriage and kids. Just trying to get a few hours to yourself is a struggle all in itself….
“It’s not flying, it’s falling with style.”
I’ll be honest I didn’t really connect with Steph in Swoon, she was whiny and argumentative but she more than redeemed herself in Falling with Style. She’d matured a lot and she had so much love for Lawry that it shone out of her…oh, and loved how they tried to get quickies while the kids played, real marriage, real life. I loved it!
This was short, quick and told from dual POV and good round up to Lawrence and Steph’s story.
Have you wondered about the After of a "Happily Ever After"? Author C.M. Foss delivers that and more in Falling With Style, the continuation of characters Steph and Lawrence aka Lawry who were followed in Swoon. The couple have no shortage of love in their new lives as a married couple and parents of mischievous twin boys. Their small business, a hippotherapy program located on their own farm, is thriving. Then a bit of trouble breezes in. How the couple handle it shows how much strength and love they possess.
Other characters in the series make cameo appearances, so this book serves to catch you up on the lives of Lissa and Ethan (Shiver) as well as Patrick and Ivy (City Beautiful).
With trademark C.M. Foss style and hilarity, this novella is not one to miss!
Oh dear lord, CM Foss can do no wrong. Not only did she bring the band back together, she took a slice of life that is normally forgotten about, overlooked, shoved to the secret guilty side and illustrated with both humans (large & small) and animals (very large to very small) exactly how it's done--with style! And with honest humanity and humility and grace. Good god, no one NO ONE is perfect, we're all just failing & falling constantly...but the trick is to finding someone to do it with and to always do it together--and with style. I love you more than ever CM Foss.
I thought I loved Steph and Lawry in Swoon... but to read how their lives have carried on post-HEA is even better.
Even though these characters have settled into married life with children, and a crazy busy lifestyle, I still felt the push and pull between these characters. There is still a spark that got my heart pumping faster... and I loved every minute.
Run, don't walk, and get your one click finger ready for Falling With Style... it's definitely worth every penny. CM Foss is a master storyteller and quickly becoming one of my favorites!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Love that I got to keep swooning over Lawrence! This is a great story after the story, a look into the married life of Lawrence and Steph. It's not a fairy tale kind of marriage, it's a real life, messy, crazy, challenging, not perfect kind of marriage, and I loved that if felt so real. You probably don't have to read Swoon before this, but I don't know why you wouldn't...highly recommended that you get to know this couple from the beginning!
Just when I think Lawry couldn't be any more swoon-worthy....
This might be considered a lil' novella, but it's a HUGE hit in my book!!! And Lawrence has made me swoon yet again. The reoccurring theme that kept replaying in my head was real... from the characters, to their struggles, their hopes and dreams...just, ....life! I felt like I was right there with Steph and Lawry, going through every emotion, struggle and triumph with them. I absolutely LOVED Falling With Style. Cheers and smooches CM Foss!! You've hugged my heart again!! (Thank you for the opportunity of reading this arc)
This was such a good quick read. Lawrence and Steph are still finding their way through a new business, and having toddlers. I loved seeing them struggle like real people do (while fiction is fun, sometimes it's nice to see the heroine is a hot mess when waking up also ;) ) I loved how CM Foss added in the struggles of a wounded soldier coming home, and some of the harsh reality they face in their home life. Overall, the book was a great, fun read, and I would definitely recommend one clicking it!!
You know what I love? Getting a novella that you think you don't need to wrap up a story but then reading one and finding out that perhaps you did need it. Or at least hoped for it. Falling with Style is just that. Steph and Lawrence are easily my favorite characters by CM and this novella made me love them even more. Perfection. I don't want to give much away but if you haven't met these two you are missing out.
I just freaking love Steph & Lawry! The charming and quirky couple that was introduced to us in SWOON is baacck! AND CM Foss did an AMAZING job reminding readers that life can get difficult but you should never loose sight on what REALLY truly matters. If you LOVED Swoon then you will LOVE Falling with Style, if you haven't read Swoon, you can still read Falling With Style but then do yourself a favor and go back and read Swoon;) BRAVO Saucy Fosse, you did good ;)
This book definitely have style. It had moments for every emotion. It made you laugh and made you swoon. It is a great companion novella. It wrapped up the story perfectly. I absolutely loved it.
This was such a sweet book. I really love that this book is about a married couple. Don't get me wrong I love the books about people falling in love, but I really love when there is a married couple. The is when the real story starts. Lawrence and Stephanie own a family business. There in the business of therapy horses. I have heard of this kind of therapy before and love what they accomplish. The couple are married and have four-year old twins. Lawrence is out of the military and is a huge support to his wife. He is kinda like for free handy man. Aren't all husbands! He is also her voice of reason. He has been having to deal with PTSD and has really gotten a hold of the demons and does everything he can to help her through her problems. Stephanie is in charge of the meat and potatoes of the business. She is the one that runs the session with the clients and does the books. She is really the one that runs the entire show. SO what is their problem right?
Well marriage is not perfect and sometimes you really want to go to bed and have a great night sleep and not to be interrupted. Well that is the problem when you work late and have children you just can't seem to have a good night sleep. Stephanie takes on a new client, new horse, new added stress. This new client John has some attachment to this family. Lawrence has lost a bother recently in Iraq and John was with him. John has lost his leg, wife, kids and really his mind. At the advice to his wife and a last-ditch effort for their marriage and is here to get the help he needs. Feelings come into play from all sides and they are left to deal with the aftermath. Stephanie and Lawrence come together and come up with a plan to help the situation. Not only for John and his wife Tracy but for them as well.
I really love that this book tackles problems that we all can relate to. I can really relate to her when she is just tried and wants to sleep and you have a child that wakes up at 3 am and you're looking at you husband like you want sting him up. He just needs to wake up at least once and deal with the problem. Am I right, we probably all have had this problem. I know i did but it all part of having children. I really love that they bring issues from what military people have to deal with coming out the service. It is a good day read if you want to just relax and maybe have a little wine.
As always with this author I am left feeling fulfilled yet also wishing for more, these characters stay with me and I honestly could read about them grocery shopping and enjoy it !! I loved the crossover with City , I loved having Lissa and Ethan around and I loved seeing how far Steph and Lawrence had come after their struggles in Swoon. Having said that we are given a story that shows you the reality of marriage, work and kids. It isn't all happy and rainbows. It is work , stress , and so many other things !! In Swoon I admired the work that Steph was doing with the horses and I am thrilled to see that years later they are still moving forward with that. OMG the twins - LOL they are too much but I adored them so much I couldn't get enough. Now that Lawrence can somewhat read his wife he was able to take a different approach to achieving a few goals he had in mind. Steph needed to slow down , take some time for her and her family and learn to say no. It isn't easy to indulge yourself when you are a wife , mother and business owner BUT it is very important and most of us living this life know the effects !! Luckily for us , despite this struggle Steph and Lawrence have NOT lost their spark !! Oh they heat it up and it is panty melting and blush worthy !! I am so happy their story wasn't done after Swoon but I can't help feeling like I still don't want their story to be done !! Any of them honestly !! I like the 6 of them together and would love to see them all with their kids on some wild adventure !!
