A mental hospital.

Reese Salt doesn’t know where she is or where she came from. She’s battling a darkness inside that makes her do things … inhumane things. This is how Reese wakes up after being locked away in a hospital for the mentally insane for over a year.

A year of being away from everything.

Reese’s next journey takes her across the world for training she needs to fight her greatest enemy—Dermetheus. The man who destroyed her life and plans to destroy the world. Can she find the strength to battle the beast inside to be who she needs to be?

With Reese being absent, things are chaotic for everyone left behind in Jackson. Shayla is forced to step up as leader and can’t seem to catch a break from the forces moving against them. Are they fighting a losing battle? Will Reese ever return?

Hope seems lost.

All they can do is believe in themselves in a time of despair. No matter what happens.

War is coming.

(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review).

(This review may contain spoilers).

I didn’t really find this book very easy to read, even though the blurb had sounded very intriguing. While it could have been easier to read if I’d read the previous book/s in the series, I wasn’t really able to connect emotionally with the characters.

There was a lot of potential, especially when it came to the darkness… but the constant switching between the different first person POVs was really distracting and I didn’t feel the characters were different enough for the multiple POVs to really work.

I didn’t really follow what any of the characters’ relationships with each other were like. I’d thought that some of them were friends, but there seemed to be a distinct lack of caring, especially when many of the characters were captured and the response from another character was, ‘They’re probably dead’.

I would have liked some more details about the history of the characters and what they could do. I only really saw three different kinds of supernatural creatures, but there wasn’t much detail about what the Snake Demons were like, for instance. There could have been a lot of potential in the interactions between Shayla and Lyric… but I was disappointed to see all of that glossed over.

There were some really cringeworthy moments in this book and I felt that the characters came across as really over-the-top. I didn’t really understand why Reese was apparently faking her own death… or why no one apart from Shayla seemed to be really concerned about that.

There was too much in the way of telling rather than showing and I found this book did drag in places. There were also too many insta!love connections. I was rolling my eyes when Harley confessed his love for Reese at the end of the book, despite there being hardly any conversations between them both.

I did find this book to be really difficult to read and I didn’t really enjoy it. I don’t plan to read any more books in this series.

Holy cow, I couldn't wait to start this book to find out what was happening to these characters! Reese is in a mental hospital because of the events in the end of the last book. She is trapped inside herself and has to figure out who she is before she can become who she needs to be. Shayla is dealing with everything, and not too well. She misses her best friend, her boyfriend and life how it used to be. The whole group has suffered but they need Reese to fight the darkness and return to complete her destiny.
I wasn't sure I was going to like who Reese has become in this book, but I did. She isn't the same, but she isn't too different either. I felt terrible for Shayla. She and Fuzz are having to deal with more than the rest and on a completely different level. The story has plenty of action and a lot of finding yourself. I was certain the author was going to bring a certain character back but maybe in a future book! I cannot believe how the author left the story and left me wanting more of it!
A 5/5 for me. I cannot wait to see where this goes next! If you haven't read these books, start with book 1 to get to know the characters and back story.

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

I think this is my fave book out of the series so far. Although I do really like how 2 ended. I will say this. This series is not one you can pick up in the middle of and start reading. Starting from Unveiled IS required because each book builds from the last.

Dark is trying to take control of Reese, she knows it but is fighting tooth and nail. Problem is she can't remember anything, she has a lot to do so she can save the world.

OMGoodness this book was awesome! I loved it! The team is split up right now so I loved that the had different POV so you can see what is happening on both ends. There was so much going on but it all was going to the same goal so it was a great roller coaster ride. This book was a little heavier, due to how the last book left off and she was dealing with crazy dark sister. I loved the flow of this, you totally don't get bored there was a monsterous creature around every corner. The fate of the world relies on a girl who doesn't know who she is, can she remember who she is in time before evil brings in their army?

Reese is awesome as ever, I think she's a total bad ass if she could just remember. The struggles this girl goes through but yet still keeps on trucking to an unknown location. She's a great character, now on to Shayla her BFF I love her too. She is my second bad ass in this story. Do not cross that girl, she is going to fight as hard as she can for her friends, she's amazingly loyal!! Harley is an adorable munch cat!! Reese needs to get together and get over her loss but I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of Steele. I love Steele too so maybe it's best if Reese doesn't remember him!!

I can not wait for the next book to come out, R.S. Broadhead has me hooked now I need my fix!!

I received an ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

Honestly, this is the best book in the series so far. I absolutely adored the other 2 books, but this one really took the cake.

Torment is book #3 in the series, and I pray not the last of the series. Each book should be read in order to truly understand and appreciate it.

In this book Reese wakes up, scared and confused. She has no idea of who she is or why she is becoming the way she is. The book follows her journey to finally find herself and her place in the world and the adventures that her friends back home embark on while she is away. The ending is an epic cliff hanger.. that is all I am going to say.

I love that all the books build so beautifully off of each other. Each one.. adds to and grows off of the last making and really complex and interesting tale. The characters are starting to show their true natures and everyone seems to be growing into the people they were destine to be.

This book as well as the entire series has been an amazing read. Very exciting and suspenseful. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves to dream a little or knows that there is a little something special in all of us!

firstly the good news its not the last book in the series , now the bad news the next books not out yet .its a year after dermetheus had Reese stabbed , shes woken in a mental hospital after being trapped in her own mind for the last 12 months & the only clue to where shes got to be is some co-ordinates on a piece of paper .Reese has no memory of before she wakes up & she is battling to take back her mind from the darkness that occasionally seeps through & takes control of her . On her journey shes reunited with an old friend who she now feels strongly attracted to. its time to begin her next phase of training & to try & get her memory back , the story jumps between Reese , Shayla & the rest of the people left after the training facility was attacked , Shayla also finds out that not all monsters hate humans & want to end them . Again a great read thats hard to put down , every time you think you know where the story is going another twist turns up .
i was given this book free in exchange for an honest review

OMG! This book was beyond amazing! Had me feeling some kind of way about the characters. Descriptions of feelings they were having had me feeling it as well. Very well written. The hands down absolute best book of the series so far. Gave me pure chills with the entrance of the heroine in the big battle. Don't judge me, but I literally cries tears of joy when she entered. This is an amazing piece of work and it keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more. Now hurry with the next installment!! 5 stars all the way!! Great job!
