Review from Way Too Hot Books

I think I found my new Olivia Cunning. I have the softest spot for rock stars/bad boys. They are my absolute favorite in harem of fictional men. Kellan Kyle & D-Bags, Sinners, Sole Regret, The Mighty Storm and I can't wait for Exodus End novels. Now there are new bad boys to add to my ever growing list - Shaken Dirty.

First book in Shaken Dirty series by Tracy Wolff is a story about Ryder Montgomery, lead singer of the band. He has everything we want in our rock stars -voice, looks, guitar skills (but other skills too), reputation and interesting background. Lucky lady who gets to devour this new rock god is Jamison, little sister of Ryder's band mate Jared. Oh yes ladies, double treat - rock star and older brother's best friend fantasy.

But it's not just that fantasy... that will make you love the book. Okay, the whole premise of the story is one big cliche, but whether it will work out or not - it's all up to the author. Tracy Wolff had done a fine job. It's not a bunch of pornographic scenes like it was case with first Sinners on Tour book (that was my biggest problem with it no matter how much I love those guys). There is a really good story behind whole hotness and steamy scenes. Ryder is believable character, author managed to make him look like real person with insecurities, problems and bad choices. We get to see a man behind the whole rock star mask. Speaking about it, Tracy had done really good job with dual point of view. You notice difference between parts that are told form Ryder's and Jamison's perspective.

Can I come with you guys too? Life on the road, traveling from one place to another, meeting new people almost everyday is probably the main reason why people are attracted so much to that lifestyle. Not to mention doing something you love. Jamison looses everything that is considered important for everyday, "normal" life and she gets to do something crazy, to fulfill that fantasy we all want. Sleeping in the bunk above the guy you had crush since you were kid - hell, yes! Epic make out sessions - sign me in!

Troubled boys. So, I get info that rest of the band will get their books too. I am so excited - Tracy, what do I have to do to get early copies super early?:D Good news is that we will not have to wait whole year for new sequel - they should be published every three months. Let's hope that publisher won't change that schedule. I am desperate to see what happens with Wyatt.

Crash into Me was a fast, sexy, addictive read! Unrequited love is one of my all-time favorite romances, and this one did not disappoint.

Jamison has crushed on her brother, Jared’s best friend, Ryder for ten long years. Unfortunately, this just stuck her in the “off-limits” category, but her heart didn’t get the memo. She’s witnessed their garage band turn into the mega popular Shaken Dirty; been there every step of the way, yet her feelings for Ryder have never changed. Now that Ryder has millions of women at his beck and call, Jamison feels her love is a fantasy that will never be fulfilled. Even if Ryder did find her attractive, she knows his bedroom door is a revolving one, and she doesn’t care to be just one of the many in the line-up. Poor Jamison!

Ryder has always put Jamison in the “no-way” column. She’s sweet, gorgeous, too good for the likes of him, and Jared would kill him if he ever tried. She deserves more than the one-night (or hour) stand that he treats all women to. When Jamison goes on tour with them, the insane amount of chemistry and the long-time connection he’s had with her can’t be ignored, and soon his resolve is crumbling! Yes!!

I just love it when long-time love finally gets noticed and returned! Jamison is all kinds of sweet and cares so much for everyone in the band, but Ryder is the one who stole her heart long ago. The longing she had crushed my heart!! She tries to fight off her feelings, tries to protect herself, but the heart wants what the heart wants! I loved that she knew these boys for so long:

“I grew up with the whole group of you. I saw you screw up with girls, crash your cars, get grounded. Hell, I saw both of you cry over guitar lessons and G.I. Joe dolls. And now you’re all grown up, bad-ass rockers who can have anything and anyone they desire. Whoop-de-do.”

The long-time connection made Ryder and Jamison’s romance all the more meaningful, and believable. I always worry about rocker romances because I feel like they have so many opportunities that it’s hard to believe they’d stick to one girl. But the fact that these two had a connection for so long made me feel this was an exception.

Crash into Me wasn’t just a sweet romance, it was a fiery one! Whoa, talk about some steam!

…he wanted to control her. To drive her beyond reason, beyond boundaries, beyond sanity until she wanted him like he wanted her. Until she need him like she needed her next breath…the way he was finding that he needed her.

Oh my, Ryder!

I love it when there’s tension and build-up because it makes the payoff all the more sweet! Ryder and Jamison’s attraction was palpable, combustible, and boy did it ignite!

Crash into Me was an addictive read, one you could easily burn through in an afternoon. This is part of a series, but Ryder and Jamison’s story comes to a satisfying and sweet conclusion. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next in the series, and I’m anxious to find out which rocker it centers on.

Where should I begin........Oh yea.......

SEXY ROCKSTARS, TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS

This is Tracy Wolff's first book in the Shaken Dirty Series. I was so excited to get a Advanced Copy.

The book begins with introducing us to all of the characters just briefly because after all the story is about Ryder and Jaminson.

Ryder is a sexy rock star complete with tattoos and piercings as well as a very disturbing past. He takes on so much. He believes he is at fault for everything and everyone around him even when it has nothing to do with him he feels responsible.

Ryder will not let anyone not even his friends get to close to him. He keeps everything bottled up inside.

He is not only a memeber of the band his is also Jaminson brothers best friend. And as we all know the sisters are off limits.

Jaminson has been sheltered her whole life. She is very independent and does not rely on anyone but herself. In college she never got drunk she was just the sweet girl everyone knew and loved as a sister.

She wants a certain rockstar (Ryder) to see her as a women not the sister of his best friend. She wants to be seen as a women who is worthy of the attention like a man like Ryer.

Jaminson has been in love with him over a decade and he just sees her as a friend. He makes sure she knows nothing will ever happen between them.

The band is on tour and Jaminson brother wants her to come with them. So Ryder and Jaminson are thrown together for weeks. They will be with one another 24/7. Ryder makes it known that he is not happy she will be with them.

Will Ryder see Jaminson more than a friend?

Can Jaminson heal Ryder from his dark past?

Can she help him find love and move on?

Will they have a happy ever after they both desperately want?

This book reminded me so much like Sinners Tour series but in a way not so much.

The sexual tension between Ryder and Jaminson was OUTSTANDING.

The hurt and anguish that goes on between these to got to me. VERY REAL. So many emotions from the characters you felt what they felt.

I am looking forward to the next book. Can not wait till it comes out. I seriously hope Quinn and Wyatt get their stories as well.

This is the second book I have read from Mrs. Tracy Wolff and this will not be the last. She has done an outstanding job with this story and it definitely will keep you entertained. So many twist and turns to the story you will not want to stop reading. You will want more.

I also like the fact that Jaminson was not a skinny girl but not a fat girl either. It is just so different than what you normally read. Very nice change.

The only negative I felt was that the book was not long enough. It felt a little rushed at the end. I just need a little more.

If you like HOT SEXY ROCKSTARS then you should read this book!!!

Protective hot rocker, best friend turned hot lovers? Sign me the fuck up! You just took two of my favorite things and gave me one great story. Not hard to figure out where the plot may take you, but enough guilty angst to make you want to reach deep into your Kindle and strangle a person a time or two.

"He felt so good, tasted so good, that she wished she could live in this moment forever."

[image error] photo a5797071cccc67b50aec72f6c13ae501_zpscb5e8c50.jpg

You first meet Jamison, the younger sister of Jared the guitar player of Shaken Dirty. Jared is best friends with Ryder Matthews, front man of Shaken Dirty and all around tortured bad boy. Jamison is DOWN on her luck, losing her boyfriend, job and wrecking her car all within a weeks time. Determined to reach her goals and accomplish more than her dead beat mother did, she does not let anyone in on this road block in her life. She meets up with her brother and his band and experiences a not so welcoming from another band's front man. Rescued by Ryder you feel the spark these two share right from the get go..

"He was playing with fire. He knew he was. Just like he knew he was going to get burned-this was Jared's sister, after all. Little Jamison,"

[image error] photo 94df469357e3a5d53e0fe8e4133172d6_zpscdbd3e29.jpg

Ryder is emotionally scarred from a tragic childhood and a hearbreaking loss in his past. Afraid he is tainted he believes Jamison is too good for him and begins the angsty crusade to keep his distance. When Jamison is suddenly thrust into their everyday lives the proximity is just too much for Ryder to handle. An affair is born and both parties are waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The surrounding players were not really introduced in a matter of getting to know them personally but you did get a small piece of each of them and why they may be damaged souls as well. The scene was set for more Shaken Dirty bad boys to take center stage.

All in all I enjoyed this book felt the story held it's own and had some really touching and hot scenes. I am pretty easy when you add a hot, possessive rocker that knows how to go down on a girl. SOLD..

If you're looking for a hot rocker, a few scorching sex scenes and a quick HEA, you'll find it here. Unfortunately, the books overall theme of "I can't have you because you're my best friends baby sister and I'm not good enough for you," failed to keep me invested in the story. The constant denial and repetitive thoughts had me skimming and I wished for more background history on each of it's characters. However, the twist toward the end was unexpected and the perfect set up for future books in this series.

I cannot resist a brothers best friend romance. Jamison finds herself touring with her brother and her brothers best friend, Ryder, who she has had a crush on for a long time.

The steamy scenes were hot! Jamison and Ryder were very likeable. I was shocked by some of the events at the end.

I promise I won't attack you in your sleep. Your virtue is safe with me.

My only problem is I`m not a big fan of third person pov. But, I will definitely be looking out for the next in the series. I would recommend this if you want a quick steamy rocker book with a bunch of guys with issues.

Vamos a ver...

I have read a few books by Tracy Wolff in the past couple of months, and all of them have the potential to be brilliant. Crash into Me is the same. I liked it and there were parts of it I loved, but it still didn’t blow me away. On the plus side, my ratings for each book that I have read by this author have consistently gone up with each book!

We are all familiar with the rock group series format. There are dozens of books and series out there in this genre. I love the theme and I’m happy to read books along these lines. It stands to reason that you are going to encounter similarities due to the subject matter being written about and again I have no issue with that if the plot is well developed, I engage with the characters and it generally grabs my interest.

Crash into Me has potential in all areas and I am looking forward to seeing where Ms Wolff takes us with this series.

Shaken Dirty are –
Ryder
Jared
Wyatt
Quinn
Micah

This book focuses on Ryder, and Jamison (who happens to be Jared’s sister). They have known each other since they were children, Jamison has loved him for as long as she can remember, and after some not so innocent flirting they agree to a “casual, no strings” relationship whilst she travels on tour with them…..as you can work out this is not an original formula, and the first 60% of the book attests to that, and it rubs shoulders with a lot of other books out there on the familiarity stakes.

That-said Tracy Wolff is exceptionally talented in the sex department, in that she writes some of the most original and hot scenes that I have ever read, and the last 40% of the book went off with a bang due to further developments with the rest of the band, and the gradual change in the relationship between “commitment shy” Ryder, and “hiding her true feelings” Jamison.

I loved Wyatt, he stood out in this book for me, and I cannot wait to read his story. Jared also has massive potential. The epilogue was a bit weird as it gives you the names of all the women that the Shaken Dirty members are currently involved with, and seeing as it is book one in the series and we haven’t actually been introduced to the rest of the characters or their future women, you have basically been given a heads up as to who ends up with who in the rest of the series.

So to sum up, I liked this book, it was easy to read and the characters were engaging. I am looking forward to the next book (fingers crossed its Wyatt’s story). Tracy Wolff’s writing is continuing to impress me, and go from strength to strength. A great start to what promises to be a good series.

I like this book ok. I wish there is more character development. I want to know why ryder and jameson falls for each other. And what is the story from their childhood.

But i lijmke the author highlighted the issue such as drug and groupies and the band dynamic. Again its an ok read.

I know I’m not the only one who loved Rock band romances because there are too many out there and while this is my first book by Tracy Wolff, it won’t be my last. Holy hell this woman can write and set a scene and give me chills while making me cry practically all at the same time! Crash Into Me is the first book in the Shaken Dirty series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Following years of practicing in garages, playing dirty clubs, and opening up for bigger acts Shaken Dirty has finally hit the big time and Jamison Matthews couldn’t be happier for her big brother, Jared, and his band mates. And while she’s happy for them she hates that her life is falling apart just as theirs is really beginning. However she loves being part of the crowd as they perform and when the man she’s had a crush on for years, Shaken Dirty’s lead singer, Ryder Montgomery, gives her that look she momentarily optimistic but she knows he doesn’t realize it’s her Jamison “Jelly Bean”, his best friend’s little sister and the bands mascot. She knows she doesn’t stand a chance with Ryder who has always thought of her a little sister and she know she’s not his type because one thing Jamison isn’t is a size 2. But, for the one moment she let herself hope and dream.

I swear I loved this book from beginning to end and the thing is the romance, the relationship between Ryder and Jamison was just a small part of this story. Yes, it was sexy as hell and very enjoyable but there was so much more to this story. Problems within the band, an attempted assault, drug use, past history coming back to haunt them, and Jamison’s brother Jared catching her and Ryder in an uncompromising position make this one hell of a rockin’ read. Yes, there was drama but it’s the kind of drama you expect when you have five band members with distinct personalities and close quarters.

Ryder is the epitome of a front man for a rock band; he’s tortured, talented, sexy, and has a steady supply of female company. But there is so much more to him and while Jamison knows some of what makes him who he is, she wants to know everything. Jamison grew up with the band and so it’s no wonder they all have a problem seeing her as anything but the kid sister of their friend. However, one kiss and Ryder knows that there is way more to Jamison and although he knows it’s not right he can’t help but indulge especially when Jamison is more than ready to give him anything he wants.

These two had so many landmines to overcome as their relationship grew and both made some huge mistakes along the way. It was just so satisfying to watch and them both realize they were much better together than apart.

This book left me wanting more, not because it wasn’t complete but because I’m already so invested in Shaken Dirty that I can’t what author Tracy Wolff will come up with next . Crash Into Me is an epic rock and roll story and I’m ready for an encore!

CRASH INTO ME is the first storyline in Tracy Wolff’s new contemporary adult SHAKEN DIRTY rock star romance series of the same name. This is Jamison and Ryder’s story-Jamison is the sister of Ryder’s best friend and fellow bandmate Jared and Ryder is the tattooed, pierced and lead singer for Shaken Dirty. Everyone in the band knows that Jamison is Jared’s little sister and there is a hands-off policy enforced. But when Ryder learns that Jamison is the band’s new chef for the tour, he doesn’t know if a hands-off policy is possible because he has wanted Jamison for a very long time.

The reader is taken on a back-stage tour of the down and dirty life of a rock band: we watch as groupies throw themselves at the band; drinking is an art form; and for one, drugs, will be the ultimate high. And all the while, each member feels the need to protect Jamison from the others as well as herself. But Jamison is twenty three years old and has had a crush on Ryder since she was thirteen and no one was going to prevent her from letting Ryder know exactly how she feels.

The storyline also focuses on the ongoing problems with each of the band members. For one, there is a history of substance abuse and for another the past is filled with a history of guilt and loss. Still one more must face the truth about the reality of his personal life when everything begins to crash down around him. And still another buries years of abuse, behind the music.

The relationship between Ryder and Jamison begins as friends to lovers but in the end, Ryder will push Jamison away believing he is not worthy of love. Their love making is sensual and erotic but there is still the proverbial elephant in the room-something in Ryder’s past will not allow him to forgive and move forward. And Ryder’s guilt knows no boundaries when a scene from present day replays over and over in his head-what if he wasn’t there to save Jamison?

The world building brings together the cast and crew of a number one selling rock band and the fans who will stop at nothing for a piece of the band. The characters are colorful as are their histories and current lifestyle and love lives. And in the end, the band will say goodbye to one of their own and welcome a new addition.

Crash Into Me is a fast paced storyline that doesn’t pull any punches; it looks at the uglier side of life on the road and the inability of some people to stay on the straight and narrow.

If you are a fan of the rock genre storyline CRASH INTO ME is another welcome addition. But the epilogue fast forwards the storyline about one year, so I am hoping that Tracy goes back and writes a story for each of the members or at the very least offers a reflection, memory and flashbacks in her upcoming stories.

Crash Into Me is a story about a girl that is in love with her brother’s best friend and a guy that doesn’t want to get involved with anyone because of a trauma from his past.

“Little pieces hold the secrets,
Little moments hold the clues,
To the whispers deep inside yourself
And the truth I wouldn’t choose. “

description

Ryder is the lead singer of a very promising rock band- Shaken Dirty. Jamison is his best friend’s sister. She has been in love with him since she was a little girl. In one week her life changes dramatically- she loses her job, her boyfriend and her car. In few days Jamison is forced to go on tour with her brother and his band. This turns out to be a big problem for her and Ryder because there is a true chemistry between them. So they make a deal… a deal that may hurt both of them in the end.

“And while he knew he wasn’t good for her, he knew he couldn’t keep her, he wasn’t ready to give her up. Not yet.”

description

So basically the story is really nice. But I don’t think it’s a story that I will actually remember tomorrow. I really liked Ryder and I enjoyed being in his head because he is an entertaining hero. But besides that, there was nothing special about this story. What really bugged me was that I read "...she was Jared’s sister” around one thousand times!!! I think we got the memo, thank you.

I recommend reading this book to all who are searching for a light and steamy read. It’s not really long so you’ll enjoy yourself for few hours. It has everything for a nice romance story- a swoony hero, great steamy moments and forbidden love. Just don’t expect the story to stay with you.

Ryder Montgomery will rock your world. If, like me, you are partial to a rock god he's perfect. Tormented and protective, dominant yet gentle, tattooed with rippling muscles...I'm a happy woman.

From the opening chapter it completely swallowed me up. I loved Tracy Wolff's writing style; it's fast, it flows well and she describes everything so perfect that I felt like I was in the crowd watching the guys on stage. The sexual tension and build up is off the scale hot and when the sexy action happens it's page-burning scorching stuff with the capability of making your heart race and many other places flutter uncontrollably. I have to say, having read pretty much the entire Brazen line of books, this is up there as one of the hottest with one of the best storylines and fabulous unique characters.

So, he's a huge rock star, has the reputation to go with it and I fell head over heels for the man. He is so far from perfect it makes him exactly that. Our leading lady Jamison is his best friend & bandmate's little sis' who he's known for years. Well there's taboo number one! I loved her; she's got guts, she call's him on his crap, but she also has the biggest kindest heart ever. Good job really as our man has a couple of demons to slay...

Ryder and Jamison's chemistry is just amazing, as is her relationship with the entire band and I whilst I swooned, smiled and sighed happily, I was also put through the ringer a little emotionally.

Read it, you won't be disappointed, you can't not fall in love with the band and it's left me wanting more. I'll be the groupie at the front waving my bra!

I'm not sure about this one. I wanted to give it more stars because I liked the 2nd book (which I read first), but I have to say I was a little disappointed. Maybe it's because I've been reading a lot of insta-loves or since Jamison was attracted to Ryder for so long and vice versa that

And the ending I felt a little cheated and it felt like it ended too quickly. Also, the epilogue hints at of the other relationships of the rest of the band members, but when are these next books coming out??? It seems forever.

Jamison & Ryder

Ryder, Quinn, Wyatt, Micah, Jared (Jamison’s brother) are in the band named Shaken Dirty. Jamison has known the guys for most of her life.

Jamison has been in love with Ryder Matthews since she was 14 not that Ryder would ever think of her that way.

After Ryder’s failed relationship with Carrie he felt he was damaged. Carrie took her own life and Ryder could not save her. Ryder was not good enough for her.

Jamison’s life is falling apart. She lost her car, got dumped by her boyfriend, lost her job and that was just in the current week. Jamison tries to surprise Jared and the band but ends up being assaulted and saved by Ryder. Now with no other alternative her brother Jared has offered her a job on tour with Shaken Dirty to be their chef so they can eat healthier while on tour.

Ryder and Jamison become too close for Jared’s liking and tells Ryder to back off. Ryder tries very hard to stay away from Jamison but he just can’t.

After starting something with Jamison he can’t go back. Needs her touch, love, and so much more. Jamison knows it is just a matter of time before Ryder gets bored with her and wants to go back to the groupies and models he was SPENDING TIME WITH before.

As things unfold for the band it becomes more clear that Jamison is needed and loved by all. She is sweet, kind, caring and wants to make her own way in the world. Ryder’s character has trouble getting past his demons. I want to know more about Ryder’s childhood as the author hints at it but does not really go into any real detail.

Wow...just wow, Crash Into Me was simply amazing! Not since reading Backstage Pass, by Olivia Cunning, have I been so enamored by, and in lust for, guys in a book band. The boys of Shaken Dirty are just super yummy and I can’t wait to devour every book in this new series!

Jamison is a spit-fire and I loved the spark of her personality. She is honest, smart, and independent. She wants to pave her own way much like her brother Jared, but after losing her job, breaking up with her boyfriend and wrecking her car, she feels as if her dreams are no longer within reach. Until she goes to Jared’s concert and comes face-to-face with her biggest dream and long-time crush - Ryder.

Ryder is the lead singer of Shaken Dirty, a band he formed with his best friend Jared in high school. They have finally made it big but he is still haunted by the past and can’t move beyond the tremendous amount of guilt that he feels, so he shuts down and refuses to let anyone in. He is so broken and tortured by the guilt for things that he cannot change, and was never responsible for. He only knows darkness, until Jamison shines a new light into his world.

This couple was just absolutely beautiful together. The best moments of the book for me was being able to watch how, together, they were able to breath life back into Ryder. Through love, acceptance, understanding and hope - Ryder became whole again. He was no longer broken, tortured or ridden with guilt. He had purpose, strength, happiness, love for himself and so, in turn, was able to love Jamison. Admittedly, their story was not easy or without hurdles - but they were able to overcome them and were made stronger because of them.

I want to spend the next fifty years learning everything there is to know about you, so that I can love you more everyday.

I loved everything about Crash Into Me. From the sexy tattooed rockstar, the confident and fierce heroine who refused to give up, the music and lyrics presented throughout, the dynamics of the band and every member in it, to the beautiful love story within. Every point hit me in just the right spot. After reading the Epilogue, I am even more excited about the books to come and how they will progress the overall story arc for the boys of Shaken Dirty.

If you love contemporary romance that features sexy and lovable rockstars, Crash Into Me is definitely a book that you must read! Tracy Wolff has delivered a fantastic set of characters, amazing plot and the beginning to a new series that, in my opinion, is phenomenal.

It’s official! Tracy Wolf is from now one on my top 5 list of my favorite contemporary romance authors! I enjoyed this book very much. Well, it has sexy rock stars and fucked up situations, what’s not to like?

Jamison has many problems in her life right now and the fact that her brother’s band is in town doesn’t make problems go away. Just the opposite, because that means that Ryder, her crash for the last decade is her also. And now, after so many years their relationship is going to change. And at the same time other things in the band are changing and not in a good way.

I liked Jamison, although, she doesn’t have much self-esteem. She’s smart, funny, kind-hearted and she cares deeply for her brother and his friends. I loved her independence and the way she wants to take care everyone. She can’t understand how much the guys adore her and it’s kind of cute!

Ryder has his own demons to fight and it was obvious that he was punishing himself for way too long. He wants Jamison from the very beginning but he doesn’t believe that he deserves her. He’s trying not to let his feelings control him but, fortunately, at the end he fails! He needs Jamison, because he needs a kind person like her in his life. He is worthy of true love even if he doesn’t believe it.

The plot was very good! And the characterization even better! Now, I want to learn more about the rest of the guys ( except Micah!). I have to say that I am very curious about Wyatt!
As you can see, I recommend this series to all the fans of this genre!

This was sweet sexy rocker book. I really loved Ryder and Jameson. Ryder had some pretty messed up stuff in his past and it put up a wall around his heart. Jameson had loved Ryder for so long being the "best friend's little sister". This put Jameson in the "hands off" category. But love couldn't be denied as their chemistry threatened to explode every time they came near. This was a story filled with angst and passion. A long side this blossoming love story there were introductions into other band members. My heart breaks for Jameson's brother Jared. What Victoria did ..was just dirty. I hope his book has him find a love like he deserves. Then there is Wyatt. Oh sweet broken Wyatt. I can't wait to see what is in store for him.

Pros: Sizzling love scenes, witty dialogue and engaging plot
Cons: The only thing that distracted me from this story was there was a little too much push and pull from the main characters and it seemed over the top. Also, a little less inner dialogue and more physical action would have made it a killer 5 star read.

All in all I plan on continuing this series and would recommend it to any Rocker Romance fan.

I just cannot with this. There’s many things that irk me in this book, but what I absolutely cannot stand is that for some reason the author feels the need to explain everything to the point where it insults reader’s intelligence.

Here's one example:

If we have an obvious attraction and sexual tension between the MCs from the very beginning of the book, and then we have the hero reaching for the lime over the heroine and touching her in a process, do we really need this following explanation?

“Reaching for the lime had just been an excuse. He’d wanted to touch her.”

Really? No shit.

Not to mention how much the heroine dwelled on that touch before we got that explanation. I mean, okay, maybe the heroine has a problem drawing the conclusion from something that is subtle and not explicitly stated, but that doesn’t mean we have the same problem.

I could go on and on with examples and the never-ending list of complaints but the more I think of it the more annoyed I get, and I have a very long TRL list waiting, so...

4-4.5 Stars!

The pages flew by as I immersed myself into these characters and the story. The "rockstar" vibe kind of reminded me of the sinners on tour series but less sex based. Only downside is how short it is and how quickly the book ended.

Great book and interesting start to the series. I can't wait to hear more about Wyatt, Jared, Quinn etc.

Watching Ryder was like watching sex in motion. It totally revved her engine, even as she knew nothing would come of it.

Jamison Mathews and Ryder Montgomery have history. Jamison has had a crush on her brother's best friend since she was thirteen years old. Now a decade later, their band, Shaken Dirty is hot, popular, and on tour. While Jamison's life is going downhill fast.

After another particularly bad night, some alcohol, and drama, her brother Jared convinces her to come on the road with the band as their cook. The only problem is that puts her in close proximity to Ryder. And the sexual tension is already crackling. The guilt and hurt feelings are already surfacing since she is in the "Off Limits Zone" as his best friend and band mate's sister.

Ryder has his demons and nightmares he is fighting. His childhood and other traumatic events have scarred him. He feels damaged and not good enough. He feels a pull towards Jamison that excites him and upsets him because she is his friend and sisters are off limits. I felt so bad for him as he had such a low opinion of himself. He really took on the weight of the world and blamed himself for so much.

At twenty-nine, Ryder had already been though more darkness and despair than any one person should have to handle.

But Jamison is a big girl and wants what she wants. She is smart, determined, but also insecure and fearful. She has self esteem and body issues and does not realize how beautiful she really is. But usually she keops things in control. Eventually it all just comes to a point that they cannot deny their attraction anymore. She thinks she can handle a fling in order to get the chance to finally be with Ryder since he seems incapable of more. And they also have her big brother breathing down their necks.

"I'm sick of being the good girl and want to have fun for a change."

So it is a roller coaster of denial, guilt, coming together, and busting apart. There is a lot of sexual tension and foreplay. Their chemistry is smoking hot and the sex scenes are intense. But Ryder is so confused about what is really right and wrong in this situation. He struggles so hard. Their feelings are strong, but hard to handle. And communication and all of the other background noise make it more complicated.

"Because you see me. You see all the way inside of me to places nobody else even knows exist. And I can't understand, can't imagine, what someone like you could possibly see in someone like me."~Ryder
"That's because you always see yourself all wrong....I wish, for one minute, you could see yourself the way that I see you. You"re like a shooting star, brilliant and dazzling and completely unattainable. You streak across the sky, traveling faster than the speed of light and then..."~Jamison
"And then I burn myself out."

There is drama, angst, and heartbreak both in their relationship and with the band. All of the characters were broken or flawed in some way. They had traumatic or complicated pasts, difficult situations in the present, and interpersonal issues causing stress. There were a few moments that had me gripping my kindle a little tighter.

I really liked her big brother, Jared and the troubled drummer, Wyatt. Their relationships with Jamison are really sweet and deep. And I really felt for them and their struggles. Rounding out the band are Micah the flirty bassist and Quinn, the not quite so dramatic keyboardist. I am intrigued about their stories in upcoming books.

This was a good start to this rocker series. It was an easy read, flowed well in both points of view, and the characters had depth. I will admit that at times I got frustrated with the pace of the story since it was a slow build and I wanted to move things along a little. And then towards the end it started to seem a bit rushed. At times, I struggled with just how negative Ryder was and how much trouble he had moving on from his past since it really caused a barrier between him and Jamison. But he won me over, and at times could be swoon worthy. The epilogue gave us a little insight, but also left a lot of room for the rest of their stories.

I just love me an angsty rock and roll love story with a tortured musician and a strong female lead who brings him to heel. Fortunately that’s just what Tracy Wolff gives us with Crash Into Me, her first in a new rock and roll series. The main characters are Ryder Montgomery, lead singer and tattooed rock god of the group, Shaken Dirty and Jamison Matthews, younger sister of Ryder’s bandmate, Jared Matthews. Jamison has been in love with Ryder for ten years but he has always considered her as a younger sister. Ryder and Jamison both have problems to overcome; Ryder has a lot of pain and darkness in his past and uses women to curb that pain. Jamison, although strong in character, doesn't realize her own beauty and struggles with body image issues.

Jamison is trying to be an independent woman, but recent unfortunate circumstances force her to join the band on the road for a few weeks to earn a living. Living in close quarters on the band’s tour bus causes all kinds of interesting situations for this couple. Ryder fights his growing sexual attraction to his friend’s little sister and despite her brother’s strong objections, Jamison and Ryder embark on a sizzling, hot affair. Both agree it will be only be for a short time, Ryder because that’s all he thinks he can give; and for Jamison because that’s all she thinks she will ever get from Ryder. They agree that afterwards they will return to being just friends. Of course, strong emotions cause both of them to reexamine their feelings, but when tragedy and betrayal strike the band, Ryder pushes Jamison away and breaks her heart.

I wish the ending had been just a little longer; perhaps a more-in-depth epilogue, but all in all I really enjoyed this story and Ryder (sigh) he was truly such a redeemable hero. I very much look forward to the next installment in this series.

Crash Into Me was a solid contemporary romance! I love a tall, dark and handsome Rock Star! Ryder, the lead singer of Shaken Dirty, is damaged beyond repair. Thinking that he's no good to love he becomes a complete He-slut. Jamison has always been the off-limits "Little Sister" to all the guys in the band. She's done everything to try and gain a little independence for herself, including pushing aside her crush for Ryder.

Unfortunately, within the matter of a week she loses everything she's worked so hard for. Despite her depressingly dire situation, she's bound to be a strong independent woman. So when her brother Jared, who's the guitarist for Shaken Dirty, offers her money, she settles for a job instead.

The two are thrown together, on a tour of the US, in such tight living spaces, and the tension between them becomes too hard to handle. Is Ryder able to get over his past, willing to break a pact and possible friendship to see where his feelings with Jamison are headed? Is Jamison willing to give her heart away to the one guy she knows will break it?

Overall, this was a rollercoaster of a ride, with a ton of angst and sexual tension. But when the tension breaks HOLY SWEET Mother of Pearl the smexy scene..

This was a great beginning to, what I hope to be a wonderful series. I really can't wait to see what's in store for Jared (guitar)and Wyatt (drummer), they are also dealing with some heartbreaking issues, and I just know that Wolff will give them an awesome story!

New Adult fans are going to love the sparks that are happening between bad boy, Ryder Montgomery and Jamison Matthews. What's not to love about a sexy rock star, and the sizzling chemistry he and his band mates not so little sister share? Jamison Matthews has always been the little sister of Ryder Montgomery's fellow band mate. Having had a crush on Ryder since before anyone knew the bad, Jamison's brother would never allow anything more to happen between them, then and now. Ryder and Jamison can't deny the chemistry they have for each other, nor can they deny wanting to do more just be friends. Jamison has always been off limits to Ryder.... until now. Jamison isn't that little sister the band sees her as anymore. Jamison has grown up, and Ryder just met his match.

Crash Into Me has it all. Heartbreak, romance, sexy times, and those trying times that come with being part of a band. Not to mention an over protective group of guys who still view Jamison as the little sitter, though she's far from that now. I have to admit, I love how protective the guys are of Jamison, especially Ryder. When Jamison is attacked by another bands lead singer, oh boy, Ryder doesn't hesitate to give the guy what he deserves. Ryder has had his fair share of heartbreak. Still grieving over the death of his girlfriend, this heartthrob doesn't believe he's allowed to find love or anything good again. Enter Jamison Matthews.

I LOVED this story. The boys of Shaken Dirty have some serious emotional issues, but they are a group of guys that I loved. Ryder's story gives us a great introduction to the band and takes us in a very emotional journey.

Ryder is very complex and has his own set of pretty messed up demons, so that results in a very complex relationship with his best friend's little sister, Jamison. These two will have you reaching for a Kleenex to dab away the tears.

BOOK SYNOPSIS

Jamison Matthews has lusted after Ryder Montgomery since she was a preteen. But now that Ryder and her brother's band, Shaken Dirty, has made it huge, she's just one of many pining for the brooding lead singer. Too bad Ryder still sees her as a little sister. Not that it matters. Her brother would never allow it, and the last thing Jamison wants is to be another notch on a rock star's bed post. Even if it's Ryder's.

Ryder doesn't deserve happiness. After his fame destroyed his last girlfriend, he swore he'd never fall in love again. So when Jamison, the girl he's been in danger of loving for years, joins the band on the road, he'll do anything to deny the sparks between them--even after one hot night together. But Jamison is determined to show Ryder that he's worthy of love--her love--and that she's all grown up and ready to play.

My Thoughts

[On a personal note growing up in the time of MTV and VH1 watching rock music videos it was so easy to "feed" my fantasies with the long haired, tattooed, pierced and physically ripped male specimens who filled my television screen daily and my dreams nightly.

My own personal real life crush however was on the young man who lived down the street from us. His long brown hair/tight jeans/tighter tees, sexy guitar playing, rock music singing self was only a few years older than me but in our small South Texas town his (in my naive eyes) "worldly experience" was very appealing to a girl who lived a very sheltered life thanks to a very overprotective father.

Despite misgivings that same "Rock God" and I have been married close to 32 years, he still wears tight jeans and plays and sings rock and roll music and I still have a "crush" on him for it all these years later! Good thing he does not mind my "crush" on book characters like Ryder, right?]

Rock bands and their "bad boy members" have long been some of my favorite lead male characters in a contemporary romance. Ryder Montgomery personifies such a character, right down to the tight jeans and tees that hug every delicious inch of the "rock god" front man for the mythical band "Shaken Dirty"!

Jamison Matthews for all intents and purposes is pretty much treated like the kid sister of the bands members, Ryder in particular seems to want to never remove her from that status and after 10 long years of being in love with her big brothers best friend she is determined to at long last prove she is a grown woman who knows her own heart's desire!

My favorite scenes between Jamison and Ryder brought me to tears as the emotions portrayed were so raw and so real that you just want so badly for the two to work out as they totally belong together.

With what happened in his past Ryder feels like he can never take a chance on hurting Jamison and he constantly pushes her away time and time again. Here is his explanation:
The chemistry between him and Jamison might suddenly be off the charts, but that didn’t mean there could be something between them. Because there couldn’t be. He wouldn’t allow there to be.

Later on in the story there are a couple of scenes where Jamison feels lacking and unsure that what Ryder feels for her is more than just base lust, you will melt like I did:

She felt beautiful when he looked at her like that, when he touched her and held her and stroked her like she was the only woman in the world. She knew it was a lie, knew he’d probably be with another woman before the week ended, but she couldn’t bring herself
to care. Not when he was looking at her like she was his whole world.

He stopped kissing her abruptly, tilted his head up until those gorgeous onyx eyes of his blazed into her own. “Jamison?” he asked, his voice still husky with desire. “Are you okay?”
And just that easily, she relaxed. Hearing him say her name, knowing she was more to him than some nameless, faceless body soothed her as nothing else could have.

He smiled then and her heart stuttered a little in her chest. Because it wasn’t the smile he gave the hoards of screaming fans, wasn’t the smile he gave the other guys or his friends or even the women he slept with. She’d seen all those smiles a hundred—a thousand—times through the years. No, this was his Jamison smile. The one he kept just for her, and the fact that he was giving it to her now helped settle her like nothing else could.

Time on the road together brings Jamison closer to the entire band, each member having at some point in her life helping her through a few milestones of girlhood thus cementing their place as friends she could count on when needed. Jamison had missed that since the band's career started to take off and their touring took them on the road for long stretches of time.

Taken out of context of the intimate moments between Jamison and Ryder these snippets of scenes in no way completely convey the intensity that comes through as you read the story but they do give a glimpse of just how passionately sincere the characters emotions are, particularly this heartfelt confession Ryder makes to Jamison when he realizes just how much she has come to mean to him despite his best intentions:

"I never knew I could feel about anyone the way I feel about you. It’s so huge, so monumental, that it terrifies me. Because you see me. You see all the way inside of me to places nobody else even knows exist. And I can’t understand, can’t imagine, what someone like you could possibly see in someone like me.”

The author touched upon the band members relationships briefly, more so their individual backgrounds with Jamison which explained why they were all so protective of her, and I look forward to the further exploration of each character in future works about the group as they release. As a longtime fan of rock'n'roll and the "bad boys and girls" behind the music this contemporary friends to lovers romance hit every emotion and it has the potential for a series to rival that of one that I have loved since the beginning of Sinners On Tour written by author Olivia Cunning , without being quite as raunchy but still holding it's own and looking forward to the rest of the band members tales in future!

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales.

Quick & Dirty: Emotional new adult romance with interesting characters, drama, and lots of steamy moments. This was a really great read and I would highly recommend it.

Opening Sentence: His voice roared over her.

The Review:

Jamison Matthews’ life has just fallen apart. She lost her job, boyfriend, and car all in the same week. She has no idea how she is going to pay for her rent, and she refuses to ask for help even if her brother is filthy rich. Her brother is in the band Shaken Dirty and they recently made it in the big times. They are going on a worldwide tour and their first stop happens to be in San Diego where Jamison lives. It’s been a while since she has seen her brother or the gorgeous lead singer of the band, Ryder Montgomery. Jamison has pretty much been in love with Ryder since she was 14 years old. She grew up with the band and all the guys have treated her like their little sister, including Ryder. She threw herself at him years ago and he rejected her. Ryder is still as hot as ever but Jamison refuses to be humiliated again, and she’s not the type of girl that does causal one night stands. But this is Ryder were talking about, the boy she has always loved so maybe she can break a few of her own rules.

Ryder Montgomery has it all. Fame, fortune, girls falling all over themselves to be with him, but the one thing Ryder doesn’t deserve and never will is love. After what happened with his last girlfriend, Ryder has sworn to never put another girl in that situation. Then Jamison walks back into his life. He has always had a thing for her but she is way too good for him. Now she is joining their band on tour and Ryder is afraid he won’t be able to deny his attraction to her anymore. With sexual tensions running sky high, Ryder and Jamison find themselves unable to resist, but they both know that this is going to end in heartbreak for both of them.

I absolutely adored Jamison. She is a fiercely independent girl that has had a pretty rough patch in her life lately. She doesn’t want to ask for help from her father or brother. She is living on her own, being her own person and asking for help seems like she failed. But when her brother offers her a job as a cook for the band, she knows that she doesn’t really have any other options. Now she is stuck on a bus for 7 weeks with the guy of her dreams who doesn’t do relationships, especially with his best friends little sister. I could really sympathize with Jamison and what she was going through. I loved that even though she makes some dumb decisions, she doesn’t do it blindly. She knows that she can get hurt, but she taking a chance and living your life is better than never having lived at all. She was a really easy character to connect with and I really enjoyed being inside her head.

I love reading books from dual POV’s. When you see the story from both parties view, I feel like it is easier to connect with it. So you also get to read the story from Ryder’s POV. Ryder is your typical rockstar, he’s HOT, rich, mysterious, tormented, and did I mention HOTTTT!!!! Suffice to say, he is your perfect bad boy. It was heartbreaking to read Ryder’s story and to see how much he has tortured himself throughout the years. He really cares about Jamison, always has, but being with him is destructive. His life and his band mate’s lives are very hectic and he would never put a sweet girl like Jamison through that. But man oh man do they have some amazing chemistry. Ryder’s character really pulled at my heartstrings and I found him a very lovable guy.

This was a really entertaining read for me. I felt a wide variety of emotions while on Ryder and Jamison’s journey. The struggles they go through were very realistic and their story was very sweet. The romance is beautifully developed and filled with lots of steamy moments. I also adored the secondary characters in the story. The band is complete with five guys and you get little glimpses into their lives and I am hoping that with the rest of the series we will get to know more about them. From the first page until the very last, I was captivated and intrigued. The writing was flawless and while the plot was a little predictable, it was still very enjoyable. Overall, this was a really great read for me and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an emotional and steamy new adult series.

Notable Scene:

“Stop it, Max!” she said, jerking from side to side as hard as she could. But he was holding her so tightly she couldn’t get much traction. “Stop it!” she begged. “Please, please, stop!”

He wasn’t listening or maybe he was just too high to listen. Either way, her stomach turned as he trailed his wet mouth over her shoulder.

“Come on, baby,” he muttered, jerking her head back so he could press a sloppy kiss to her mouth.

“Just let it happen.”

She bit him then, clamping her teeth down on his lower lip as hard as she could. It was his turn to scream, to shove at her. He pulled back a hand to hit her and she braced herself for the impact. She’d take a beating over rape any day.

But his hand never connected. Instead, he was pulled off of her and slammed into the opposite wall so hard she heard the thud even over the roar of the music. She went with him part of the way, until he finally managed to untangle his hand from her hair and raise it in a misguided effort to defend himself.

Even then it took Jamison a second to realize what was happening, to realize that she was free. When she did, she scrambled several feet down the hallway, desperate to simply get away. But as she prepared to run, she got a glimpse of her rescuer’s face as he pinned Max to the wall.

Ryder.

It was Ryder who had found her, Ryder who had saved her. And Ryder who was currently shouting obscenities as he beat the hell out of the other singer.
