When does the End Zone Justify the Means?

The Los Angeles Leopards and the Portland Pioneers are on a collision course toward the Super Bowl Championship. One team is led by a take-no-prisoners head coach; the other by a cerebral, slow-and-steady coach who has been thrust into the spotlight because of a tragedy. A tense showdown is about to unfold before the world's football fans.

But along the way to the championship game, something bad happens: the very integrity of the game comes within a yard of ruin!

In his thrilling new work of fiction—Between the Lies—Hall of Fame Coach and New York Times bestselling author Marv Levy takes us on a journey through the NFL like we've never seen before. Through the eyes of a memorable cast of characters, many of whom are based on real football players, coaches, general managers, and owners, we get to see professional football from the inside.

And we get to see the game's underbelly, where rules are bent or broken, lies are used as promises, and the integrity of the game hangs in the balance.

Between the Lies is filled with the kind of intimate knowledge that only a Hall of Fame coach could possess. It is a must-read for fans of the NFL and for all of us who ever wondered what goes on the inside the sanctity of the locker room.

This book, of sports fiction, follows Coach Levy's New York Times bestselling autobiography—Where Else Would You Rather Be? Marv's infectious personality shines through every page. You will laugh out loud, curse out loud, and cheer out loud!

There are two now expansion teams in the NFL on the rise. The Los Angeles Leopards, led by intense coach Randy Dolbermeir. On the other hand, there are the Portland Pioneers led by the calm and collected Bobby Russel. Both teams are that close to bringing glory to their towns, and their team. Yet Mel Herbert knows a secret about the Leopards that could change absolutely everything. The question is though, what to do with that secret. This is a fantastic read meant for anybody who enjoys a good sports book.

This was a nice, simple, fun read. Especially for anyone who has ever played football or a team sport. Also if anyone has ever had any coaching or leadership experience in anything, not just football, this book is a good read. The author's biography is rather interesting. It's not often that you have a Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach with a Master's degree in English Literature from Harvard!

This was a good story, but at times it makes you wonder what does go on behind the scenes of professional football. I also would like to know how much of these events are true, or have some truth to them. I'm all about winning, but with the utmost integrity. I'm sure with a lot of coaches and players, their integrity is tried every day to win. Sadly, in this book we see a clear display of the opposite of that and the thing that disturbs me the most is that you know that some of this has been tried before and probably have gotten away with.

The only part where this book lacks is that it was too predictable, at times a little too cute, and to convenient. But I think the author was only trying to write a fun, and enjoyable book and on that note he did succeed. You'll get a laugh at some of the fictionalized names he came up with. If you love football, sports, media, etc. then you'll definitely love this book.
