When an innocent mistake made by their newlywed friends frees the way for Christophe to return, their idyllic attempt at happiness is marred by the nightmare they must outsmart, finally, to achieve the happily ever after they deserve.

They know they can rely on their coven to be there for them, and some new friends and additions to the family, as they once again embark on an epic battle that will secure their life, their love, and their future together. Everspell is the sequel to Spellbound. I absolutely adored Spellbound and was super excited to receive the arc for Everspell. This book continues the story from Spellbound, but is complete in and of itself, so you could read it as a stand alone book. I think, however, that it is much enriched with the complete background. Since it is a sequel, I need to warn you than my review will most likely contain spoilers from the Spellbound. This story brings all of the characters from the first novel back and adds a few new ones as the families once again need to battle evil.

I'll tell you what I liked about it:

*With the exception of the "evil" characters, the characters are very likable. Their sense of family (including extended family and almost family) is so refreshing.

*You really were able to see many of the characters mature from their first introduction to the end of this book. It was fun to watch them as they went from being kids to being young adults.

*As a YA book, it was so refreshing to not have it filled with the sexual content so many YA books have been including lately. There was definitely a lot of romance, but without pushing the envelop on how they expressed it physically.

*While there was a battle of good vs evil it was not a gory nor inappropriate for younger readers. In fact, (spoiler alert) their successes throughout the book are because they work together. This is a common theme throughout both books in the series.

*The multiple points of view added depth to the story arc and the characters. I enjoyed her writing style immensely.

*It had the "I can not put it down" factor.

*The ending was complete, but there is so much possibility left open for another book.

In all honesty, I did not like this book as much as the first. That did not mean I could put it down hehehe. I think that if it took place two years into the future, I would have liked it more. I had a difficult time with one of the story arcs because of the one character's age. That is completely my bias. I am kind of weird, so take it with that in mind. That being said, I really, really, really hope there will be another book in this series. There is so much potential there. I would love to see things from Gypsy's perspective as well as the male character that returned (trying to not spoil your read) and possibly even the perspective of the new male character.

I liked this book very much. I love the way Samantha writes her books are very easy to read and you find yourself not being able to put the book down, which I think what most readers crave for.

I loved the way the Serena and Logan story is coming along and I can't wait till it's spiced up a bit. And in my personal opinion it really now needs to be happening mainly for the balance in the book.

I struggled with the 16 yr old storyline though. I can't quite get my head around that one. Although very happy for the characters i do find it a bit strange that everyone would be so happy about it.

I am also very excited about the Logan/Father storyline and I actually can'tt wait to read more on that one

I do love this series and I do recommend this series to everyone.

Congratulations Samantha on another good installment of this series!

Everspell is book two that continues where Spellbound ends. You don't have to read the first to enjoy this one. The book is well written and very fast paced. You get to watch the characters lives unfold in front of you while you read. There is plenty action, magic and love. It is written so clearly you see the scenes as if you are watching a movie. Told from a couple POV you get two sides to the book. A few shockers are revealed in this book but I won't tell any spoilers just know they are good. This book is a must read for all people who love a magical action pack love story.

~I found this book to be a lot like the first on with lots of tweaks and flashbacks. Though there is new characters and situations, it feels the slightest bit repetitive. Other than that, it seemed that the characters have matured a lot since the first book. They made adult decisions that would affect them it big ways and stuff like that... When he book ended, I felt there was a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up. Good thing there is a 3rd book coming!

Samantha Combs has done it again! When I read a sequel, sometimes it comes across and repetitive and flat. But not this one. It answers questions from the first one, and takes you for a ride. There is not one boring moment in this book. From the time you start it, just hang on for the ride. Some things that happened in the story had my jaw hanging open. Read this book!

Hmm. I can't quite put my finger on why, but this novel and the last don't move me at all. The characters don't ring true to me. Logan's inner dialogue sounds like a female wrote it, and his mother seemed as though she would be WAY smarter after book 1.

I think this series might be meant to have a soap opera-ish feel but the drama never feels real to me as I read. I am not invested in these characters they way I wish to be.

So after finishing Spellbound, I thought Everspell would be like; whatever, just an extension. Boy, was I wrong. There were tons of surprises and turns of events, and I certainly cannot wait for the 3 and last book of the series, although I am sad that it's ending. This one definitely deserves a 5 out of 5 book-a-saur paws too!
