Love it! Though the plot is predictable, the writing and off the charts hot romance were fantastic. Tally is one of my most favorite heroines ever. I love her spunk, tenaciousness, quirky sense of humor and her steel spine. This girl has it all, well almost all . . . by all accounts she is on the plain side, but her indomitable spirit makes that a mute point.
Tally Cruise has been abandoned all her life by a father who just couldn't be bothered by her or her mother. When she receives an invitation to join him on his private Tahitian island, Paradise Island, she is over the moon. At 27 she is successful but still seeking Daddy's approval, even after years of his neglect. Wouldn't you know it? He's not even there when she arrives. When things blow up in her face, literally, she is fished out of the water by a very handsome, sexy pirate.

Book #4 in the T-FLAC series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main characters had serious phobias to overcome and both were physically imperfect, but they were wonderfully charismatic. I enjoyed the writing style of this book and can see how the author "grew" as the series progresses. "In Too Deep," she utilized more tools of the trade: wordsmithing (the careful selection of each and every word and phrase). I had to laugh at her metaphors and similes; they were brilliant!

This is the fourth book in the T-FLAC series and my second book by Cherry Adair and I've decided she simply isn't to my personal taste in reading. The story had all the right elements but just didn't work for me. I give it 2 and a half stars. I have to give it points for being able to read it through to the end.

This book drove me crazy. And not in the good way.
Both lead characters, Michael and Tally were annoying. In fact, Michael was downright cruel to Tally on more than one occasion, and all the while we're supposed to believe he's falling in love with her. Several aspects of the storyline were incredibly repetitive, and i had to put the book down more than once because I couldn't drum up much enthusiasm to finish reading it.
Also, in Adair's previous 2 T-Flac novels, her love scenes were very well done, and incredibly sexy. Not so with this book. Michael and Tally's first 'encounter' came out of nowhere. Almost like Adair wanted to get the plot moving with a quick sex scene. And i am sorry, it is impossible to find a situation to be at all sexy or sensual, when they refer to a part of the female anatomy as a "hoohoo". That wasn't funny, or charming in the least...it simply made me cringe and just want the book to be over with.
Considering how much i enjoyed books 2 & 3 of this series, this was a HUGE disappointment.

Getting to watch another Wright brother find his girl is always fun. Do none of them come across their ladies in any type or normal setting? of course not where would be the fun in that one?
Tally was my favorite of the girls so far. She took one look at the man who saved her from a boat explosion and decided she was rescued by a pirate. a one eyed, ripped, deliciously hot pirate.
michael plans to use Tally as a means to complete his mission. that lasts about 2 hours till he has Tally in his bed. Michael is forced to decide if he wants to use Tally and deeply hurt her in the process to get his revenge or to save her.
i just think these two were funny as anything together. i keep seeing this eye patched pirate walking along with his three legged mutant cat and laugh. meanwhile tally is off quoting literature or singing horrifically off key to musicals.

Tally is on a yacht near Michael's boat when *** no spoiler** which forces Michael to bring her aboard. Her presence complicates his mission of revenge.

I loved this story! It had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next twist. Tally was feisty and I loved the way she stood up for herself! Michael was just all hero! and her father really was a douche bag! :)

It was ok. The writing was somewhat poor and typos. The story itself was ok. Lots of sex and physical abuse as well as murder. The murders were quick and could have been more to them.

Enjoyed the characters, enjoyed the adventure novel/mystery aspects. Loved the hero's three-legged cat Lucky, who has a complicated relationship with the heroine:
"Lucky made a beeline for Tally, and wound around her ankles. But the second she crouched down to pick him up, he hissed, and laid his ears back. His back arched, and he fell over, then lay there as if he'd done it on purpose. He glared at her from his prone position. Shaking her head, Tally picked him up and set him back on his three legs. The second he was on his feet, he hissed and narrowed his eyes."
Solid writing and for the most part well-paced; I suspect my one gripe is completely personal.
I considered skipping some of the sex scenes, which rarely happens with me. I skip them in Bertrice Small books sometimes because Small's hero and heroine frequently bore me and I'm more into the history, but that isn't the case here because I liked Adair's characters. I think part of it is that the hero and heroine sometimes seemed to forget their first time, or were determined to pretend it meant nothing, which made the sex scenes feel oddly suspended and not part of the story. Especially since the hero definitely crossed a line without permission in that first scene, which is never remotely dealt with or seriously considered by either of them. "Let's pretend that part didn't happen" doesn't work for me. I go to romances to reconnect the emotional with the physical when it comes to sex; this book didn't do that for me.
But that's not what most readers are looking for, I shouldn't think, and I quite enjoyed the book overall.

I liked the premise of it - male lead swears vengeance on the man who killed his partner and falls in love with the daughter of his enemy.
The female lead was okay - she was annoying at first but grew on me. Towards the end though, that was when I saw her main growth. At the beginning she wanted to meet her birth father, who skipped out on her and her mother. As an adult, she wants to know the father who left her, and finds out that her birth father is an international criminal.
Both the male and female leads conquer their fears - water and the dark - and have a satisfying ending.
Only 2 stars because of the character growth in both characters.

Not really a spoiler, since it happens within the first 20 pages.
The first sex scene is super rapey. She has ZERO relationship with the guy. She wakes up and he is already groping and kissing her.
I put the book down after that.
In what world is it okay to write a scene that makes a dude pawing an unconscious woman look hot. And she DID try to make it hot. Tally was super into it and never like "Dude, I'm sleeping, why are you trying to rape me?"
I just...couldn't with this book.

Michael is bent on avenging his partner's death and end Cruise's illegal trade and when he stumbles on Tally he intends to use her as part of his plan. I didn't always like Michael but it was an interesting read. Tally seems clueless at times, but also very resilient given her history. *Spoiler* In the epilogue is the first mention of the island being used for T-FLAC training exercises and an R&R installation for T-FLAC families.

Guilty pleasure! Almost too much action. Truly, too much killing. However, the action sequences are intense and cinematic. The heroine is a real fighter, and the wounded hero is fantastically sexy.
I'm still wondering why I like Cherry Adair. Just when I feel my brain cells dying from the trashy banality, the straight-up clarity sweeps me back into the story.

An older, reissued, action packed adventure romance, with lots of steamy scenes, bad guys, kidnapping, guns, explosions, boat chases and twists. Think of any of the wildly improbable caper movies out there, and this is it, but in book form. I'm a real fan of these old style romances, and Ms Adair is a master of the genre. Set in the south pacific. 🔥🌞🚤😍

November 22, 2023DNF 25% - these characters JUST met & she’s already thinking she might be in love… oh boy. Insta love doesn’t bug me if done well - this came out of nowhere. The first 30 pages were really exciting, but the. It slows down to a glacier pace, focusing on Tally’s character, and I just… can’t. I can’t get on board with her brand of quirky.

Michael, Kyle's brother... exNavySEAL... a year ago, a mission went sour and he lost his eye, and his best friend/partner, and his career to Trevor Church - a chopshop yacht stealer, and arms dealer, murderer, selfish prick.. Michael is afraid of being in the water, and has been fighting his fear the last year...He has spent a year gathering intell and making plans for vengence...
Tally Cruise, a plain looking woman (who's rear was nice) spent her childhood with her mother traveling from country to country trying tp track Trevor down - so she could hook up with him for whatever short time she could manage ... she learned many languages and now works as an interpreter, she met him 16 times, and he was annoyed and disappointed in her... and especially over time, less and less tolerant of her mother... Tally wants security, wants a man to love her... but she is essentially well grounded, looks for the best in people, and is excited that her father invited her to his island, Paradise... she is afraid of the dark...
Arnoud, her father's right hand man and her 1st lover - that she booted after the weekend = is enacting plans to take over her father's businesses, kill her father, and kill her to get her inheritance to her half sister, his new lover... He arranged for her to come to the island after his attempts to have her killed in Chicago failed she thinks she is there to see her father.
Michael watches her on a yacht with Arnoud - as a storm is approaching - and sees the yacht explode... she is thrown out to sea and swims to Michael's boat and is rescued, and they ride out the storm... they of course fall into bed - he manipulates it so that it is dark, and she needs his comfort... and you get the picture...
and Michael is using her as an unexpected help in his plans... she takes him & his yacht into the harbor for repairs, getting him easy access to the island - to locate the arms that Trevor stole...
they spend the next 4 days getting to know one another - no more sex... exploring the island (on his own he finds the cave with the arms)... kissing... she is again attacked (and grabs his 'jewels' and tosses him off the balcony), and her room ransacked (by her unknown half sister)... and he plants special explosives with the arms, put together in a way that they can not be defused - even by Michael...
And all of the players are finally together... Tally finds out what a bad guy her father truly is (especially when he kills his daughter)... she's a bit angry at Michael when he sees he used her, but her common sense comes to the front, and she can see how things developed...
and the her father has her tied up in the cave while he tries to get the detonator back from Michael... Michael (with a few broken ribs) gets the upper hand, kills Trevor too fast - his TFLAC brothers make it as back up (a bit too late)... and he races to save Tally - overcoming his fear of the water to get to her - she has managed to get loose, and they swim out again, and run to safety...
and he tells her he loves her and wants her to stay with him... something she is more than happy to do...
and the story ends 6 months later, with his family all gathered together for Thanksgiving, and Tally & Michael planning a wedding. And when Tally plays with her pearls (which he had used to highly stimulate her in an earlier scene) at the table,, he races her away from the table saying she needs a nap - but you know what... he needs to have sex with her right now...
A funny scene is with Michael's cranky, persnickity 3-legged cat... who alternatly hisses and cuddles with Tally... and at Michael's father's home, with the cat appoints himself guardian of the baby - usurping thier Great Dane's role - the great dane won't get within striking distance of the cat, though he stays as close to the baby as he can...

I don't even know where to start. I just could not get into this book. It was just one big snooze fest. I don't know what else to say. The characters were bland. I didn't feel much chemistry. For a romantic suspense book, there was just too much dull stretches of stupid stuff which is a shame because the premise sounded really cool.
Tally decides to go on a vacay, but after the yacht she was on explodes, she is rescued by Michael Wright, an ex-Navy SEAL who was was medically discharged because of a horrible incident caused by Tally's father. He realizes that he can use Tally to his advantage when they get to the island, but he ends up falling in love instead. And boring stuff. Sex scene. Action. More sex. Tons of zzzzzzzz. A bit more action. Repeat a lot. That's the book.
The story itself was predictable, and as I said earlier, the characters were "eh." I just didn't care about them or anything that they did. Oh well. On to the next.

Michael Wright is on a recon mission of vengeance when he spies a worthy pawn in the form of Tally Cruise. Tally just happens to be the daughter of the man who cost him an eye, a friend and his will to do his job in one fell swoop. What Michael doesn't know is that Trevor really isn't interested in Tally and invites her for a visit on his private island then consigns her to the local hotel instead of his mansion -- and he's day's late. Michael has his opportunity to get close to Tally and takes it knowing that rescuing her from a dangerous situation will want her to stay close to him.
Michael is one of the brothers from the earlier books and mentions the relationship a time or two to keep things tied together. Tally loves the island is excited to see her father and even more excited to finally meet a guy that excites her. Their banter was amusing and the sex steamy. They were good together and the setting was perfect for the story. I liked both of the main and secondary characters here and I enjoy that the settings of all the books so far have extremely diverse meetings for the leads. The villain here was very good and a worthy adversary for our protagonist. Another good thing about this series is that the H/H are average looking and sometimes less than; they aren't always noble either. My major complaint of the series has been the installments aren't really compelling - interesting maybe even intriguing, but not compelling. This one may indeed be the turning point for the series.

Michael is keeping an eye on the daughter and the right-hand man of his archenemy on a boat when an explosion of the boat of the people he is watching sends Tally into the water; he has no choice but to help her. The attraction between them is obvious right from the start especially for Tally;
When they finally get back to shore to a hotel things get complicated with bodies washing up and intruders, though Tally knew how to handle one particular intruder, holding hostage his favourite package then pushing him over a balcony. There is no lack of steam in this read and the scene with the pearls was hotter than hell. The twist with Leli’a was unexpected, I really don’t like that girl and Tally’s father is just despicable. One of my favourite T-FLAC books I have read so far.

This book was just not as good as Kiss and Tell or Hide and Seek. But it did remind me of The Mercernary. It started out very slow. Michael is another Wright brother. And it takes forever to find out why he loses his Navy Seal career. He is so bitter the whole time and you have no idea why. He has lost an eye. You have no idea why. Tally Cruise is the daughter of his enemy that he wants to kill. He ends up saving Tally's life. Which in turn gives him the opportunity to get close to her. Her father is due on Paradise Island in a few days. Just enough time to give Michael time find what he is looking for.
This story progresses so slow that I almost gave up on it. It did pick and get interesting finaly and you do find out what happened to Michael near the end. I think if the book would have been different and you would have known from the beginning the story would have been better. I had to make myself finish this book. Although the love scenes were HOT.

Michael Wright is out for revenge. His enemy's daughter comes along and Michael decides that Tally will work perfectly into his plan.
Tally hasn't been so lucky with love in her life. She's fine with the way things are, but Michael makes her feel too many things she never thought she wanted.
Hmmm...this was a tough one. Michael was a class-A jerk (or insert a worse word to your liking here) and I couldn't stand him at the beginning of the book. In fact, I didn't like him for about 7/8ths of the book. Tally was also irritating quite a bit. Neither character was all that likable.
The story was good, though. It was well put together and I really enjoy Adair's writing style. Even though I didn't like the hero/heroine, I found myself interested in the story. It moved along quite well and had a couple of minor interesting twists.
A good suspense story with a strange romance.

Michael, the oldest Wright brother, and Tally.
Michael lost his eye and his best friend/SEAL partner on a mission. Since then he has been terrified of the sea and determined to get revenge.
Tally Cruise has been invited to visit her father Trevor on his island, Paradise, little knowing that he is a pirate who steal yachts and ships then sells them and their cargoes.
Michael decides to get at Trevor through Tally, and gets his chance almost immediately when the yacht she is on blows up.
Poor Tally is a walking disaster, after being blown up,she is attacked in her room by a Frenchman wielding a knife then pushed down the stairs and numerous other attempts on her life. Almost against his will Michael helps her, he also finds her strangely alluring despite her plainness and her father.
I liked Tally and Michael. I got a little confused at the end with the cave, but overall the story was fun.

I continue to love this series but I can't give this particular book 5 stars because it is my least favorite so far. I loved Tally but Michael was a little too 'hands off' for an ex navy seal, Alpha male hero. She took too many punches to the face with him saying nothing about it for my taste. I see the other side which is that she got to be all strong, independent woman but let's face it, if I'm reading Romance and he's supposed to be this Alpha male, I want him to act that way.
But it was a fun read. Adair is a great writer. I love the book and I've purchased the next one. (Gotta love Kindle. I can do that immediately upon finishing this one!)
