Through unique photographs and words, this book captures what Gordie Howe has meant to a storied franchise, teammates, a legion of loyal fans and the entire hockey world. Mr. Hockey shattered scoring records and established himself as the face of the game during his 26 seasons in the National Hockey League. Howe won four Stanley Cups, six Hart Trophies as league MVP, and six scoring titles. Following his playing days in Detroit, Howe was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972, but returned to hockey to play with his sons for two additional pro seasons. Famous for his fierce elbows, uncanny scoring ability and legendary charisma, Howe retired with 801 goals, 1,049 assists and 1,850 points -- all NHL records at the time.
